Omakase - all the way. You will not be disappointed. Everything we had from the sashimi to the sushi, tea, sake and ice cream was dee-li-cious and ah-mazing!

Order the fresh fruit for dessert. It's really the freshest fruit at the perfect ripeness.

For me, I was blown away by this meal and will remember this forever.

Hands-down, probably, dare I say it? THE best omakase I have ever experienced.

If you do order the omakase, don't be afraid to ask for more dishes at the end if you are still hungry. No doubt. I took full advantage of this. More uni? Yes, please.

Be ready to throw down some cash for this delightful experience.

My mouth is still watering.

Possibly the best sushi you will ever have. Highly recommend sitting at the bar.. it's like having your own personal sushi chef. We ordered piece by piece "al la carte" at the suggestion of our chef. It was amazing! Keep in mind that it can get very pricey..

Oh man. Sushi was great but let me just expound on what omakase for 2 can buy you:
Nearly a half month's rent
Three nights in a nice NYC hotel by Grand Central
A round trip ticket to London
Tickets to a Yankees game, dinner and drinks
A month's car payment on a Mercedes

Get the gist? And you will have ZERO idea that's what you've eaten until the bill hits your table. So fair warning, folks. It's great sushi but that sticker shock will for sure sour your stomach.

Great vibes. Wonderful experience. Exactly like you are in Japan. The service is great from the moment of entrance to the moment of exit. Everyone is friendly. The fish is so tender and juicy that it doesn't need anything added to it. It is absolutely delicious. My favorite sushi.

First of all the food was delicious and high quality. Whether the price is worth it is subjective, but I don't think it was. The place was large and spacious so it was pretty quiet. We got seated at 1:15 and we weren't served until 2:00 when suddenly they started pumping out omakase servings way too quickly to enjoy. We were notified shortly after that their kitchen was closing soon and rushed out the door. For such an upscale place the pace of the meal was disappointing and the fact that they had wooden one-time-use chopsticks was surprising.

A huge disappointment for a one Michelin star restaurant . To be precise I went for lunch and the lunch menu with sushi / sashimi was really not up to the expectation and I had done a lot of Japanese restaurant in New York and in Japan
The roll was not well done and the fish inside was mashed
The other sushi were not done with enough wasabi and the soy sauce was really to salty it made it hard to swallow
I don t know how it is for diner with the regular menu but clearly lunch is not something I would recommend

Impeccable service and attention to detail! The sushi is outstanding here. A must try for any sushi lover. The overall decor of the restaurant is beautiful as well. Take a moment to admire the beautiful wood ceiling, floors and walls. The large plant in the front is also very pretty.

I used at lunch on weekdays. I was taken to a room with a picture that Mr. Kirin drew. (A Japanese clerk taught me.) I had a sushi lunch. The sushi is of course delicious but the set miso soup was very delicious. The service is very polite and there are many Japanese clerks. It was a feast.

Best authentic Edo-mae sushi-ya in Manhattan. There's only one way to enjoy it: omakase at the sushi counter. Go with an empty stomach and let the chef fill it with the best nigiri sushi you've ever eaten.

One of the top sushi spots in NYC. Reservations are hard to get so book very early. Recommend requesting seats at the sushi bar where an almost-personal chef will guide you through your sushi journey. The space is beautiful and minimal, and the service is fantastic. The price is very high so save for a special occasion. Absolutely a must-visit for any sushi lover in NY.

Sushi Yasuda is by far in a class by itself. The variety, quality of the fish, great service, and skilled sushi chefs can t be beat.

Not for the budget conscious. However, you get what you pay for!

After jealously having this on my hit list for years, I finally walked in for lunch with no reservation a few months ago. The raw fish is phenomenal and there is fantastic variety, with daily specials at market prices. Speaking of the price, beware of it.

The fish was very good, especially the mackerel, anago and sawani. I normally do not like ikura and oysters however they were excellent here. Why the low rating then? Two reasons. One, the rice prepared for our meal did not hold together as well as other sushi restaurants and made eating the sushi a clumsy affair. Sushi is rice as chef yasuda(he went back to Japan a few years back) would say and subpar rice certainly harms the taste of the meal. Two, we had the omakase and our chef charged us for a few sushi pieces we did not eat which is absolutely unacceptable at any restaurant let alone a Michelin rated location. The omakase is not a set number of pieces so you should keep count of what you eat. In summary, sushi yasuda serves good fish but the subpar rice and overbilling ruins the experience.

I always liked the food here but stopped going when anytime I would call for a reservation, even at the sushi bar, even on a Monday night, I was always told I would have to leave after an hour. Maybe $100 for dinner is not much to them, but I refuse to be rushed through a $100 dinner. I dont' understand the reason for their rudeness, especially since I sent many people to them in the past.

This place has some of the best sushi at a reasonable price in midtown east. The lunch menu features fishes which are flown from Japan onna daily basis. There are only two lunch services: noon and 1.30 pm so you need to be exact on timing... There is also a non advertised lunch special menu which is esquisite and features 5 sushis and 2 rolls, with the fresh fish changing daily. Excellent choice for a Japanese restaurant in the area !

The omakase was fantastic. We had a huge selection and wasn't disappointed at any of the sushi pieces. The omakase isn't your traditional set amount of pieces though. You just tell your chef when to stop.

The staffs were pretty accommodating (I forgot to bring a lock for my bicycle and they allowed me to leave it in the waiting area). First off, the sushi was really really fresh. Food was 5-star. However, they do omakase a little differently than most high-end sushi places in NYC. You tell them when to stop bringing you more pieces, but every single piece is being charged a la carte. So if you're price conscious but not great in math and memorizing prices, the anxiety of not knowing how much worth of sushi you've eaten would not be fun. It is also a policy to not accept gratuity, so that made me feel a bit better. At the end, my wife and I wound up spending north of $400 on a very fulfilling sushi dinner.

My go to for sushi in NYC. So consistently good it s hard to even attempt to try a new place.
Must sit at the sushi bar and do omakase. It ain t cheap. However, I ve never regretted eating there. It has opened my world to the different possibilities for fish to use for sushi. I used to hate Mackerel. Now it s one of my favourites. Just had an incredible sardine on this most recent trip. Being able to showcase a fish that is not always highly regarded is deserving of praise.
Also the rice is just as good as the fish. They say the rice is the star and the fish is to highlight the rice. I never believed that until I went to Yasuda. I never let a single grain go to waste.

A very nice experience in a warmly lit restaurant with great service and good food. The grilled sea bass was sweet and delicious. The sushi was good but frankly overrated. The tamagoyaki was almost perfect - really lovely. The red bean mochi ice cream was wonderful but the matcha one was just OK. Wonderful service too bad they stick to Japanese custom and don't accept tip.

The main coursea and sushi combination dinner was very good. However, ordering sashimi a la cart was overpriced and the pieces were TINY. I would reccomend avoiding a la cart for a better experience

I go with my wife to this great spot from time to time! This is my favorite place to grab a bite. I visit this place at least once a month. The food is excellent, the team is welcoming and the payment is reasonable. I like being in this place over a good meal.

Really great quality fish, and a lovely quiet atmosphere that is perfect for conversation. No tipping either, which makes paying so much quicker and easier (and you aren t left guessing how much is the right amount!)

Amazing place for high quality sushi. I suggest sitting at the bar and trying the omakase menu (chef prepares anything he wants until you say stop), your wallet will take a hit but your taste buds will love it.

The staff, decor, and ambiance were fitting of a Michelin star restaurant. I loved the fact that all employees were paid enough to not accept tip.

Not a sushi devotee like many, but in my limited experience AND humble opinion, this was one of the better places I've had sushi. Taking a gamble and leaving it up to the chef to decide my entree was the best decision I could have made.

Michelin Sushi @ 29$ for lunch!

Michelin Sushi @ 29$ for lunch!
This is one of the craziest offers for sushi lovers in NYC. It can t get much better as this. The service is impeccable, the setting of the restaurant is elegant, zen and very pleasant ambience.

This place is really busy for lunch but in general no waiting times. Everybody comes for the fixed price menu which offers you a combination of Sushi, sashimi and maki rolls.

It is no wonder this restaurant has been famous since 1999 and is holding its name high. This is as close as you can get to the art of sushi making..... all this for 100$!!!

"This is hands down the best sushi restaurant in NYC, and perhaps the USA. Situated among several other excellent asian restaurants, as well as the heart of the midtown financial scene, this amazing venue serves up the freshest, tastiest, and most incredible VARIETY of sushi anywhere. A true Japanese sushi mecca. No bizarre ""rolls"" or chicken teriyaki here... best red bean and green tea ice cream!!"

Sad to say that I had the most unpleasant experience at Yasuda. I was an hour early, arriving at 8:30pm when the host was rude and unaccommodating, stating that I would have to wait an hour for my original reservation at 9:30pm. I asked if there was anything available earlier and he shouted at me in front of 5-7 guests who were waiting for their table, that he would just cancel the reservation then. I am not one to be sacred away by his loud tone so I asked for the manager and he said that he was the manager. Why would the manager be checking in guests? Then after persisting he finally tells me he has a table available in 20 minutes. Why couldn t he just accommodate me in the beginning without being so nasty? I m sorry but there are way too many good sushi places in NYC to be treated this way.

I am appalled at the service, professionalism and attitude of this man.

Quite possibly the best and freshest Sushi in the NYC area. This is a Sushi Only restaurant. Don't expect to find Shumai or Gyoza here as appetizers. Make a reservation or expect to wait a long time. You might even be told to leave if you don't have a reservation.

Hands down one of the best sushi meals I've ever had. Omakase at the sushi bar you're served one or two pieces at a time. If you sit at a table they bring several plated pieces at a time. You can also order specific pieces if you prefer to choose by yourself.

Fresh fish and a comfortable, pleasant setting to go with it! Staff were accommodating to my wife's allergies and we had a splendid dining experience. Felt very well taken care and we are looking to be back soon
