This is a really great dining experience. The restaurant is laid out so it is quiet and intimate, including traditional sections. There is a great water feature, and there is a fascinating collection of interesting collectables. The staff are very friendly and attentive. The food is excellent... 5 star.

Great atmosphere and service. I quite like the presentation of the sushi as well. I ordered an assortment of nigiri, sashimi, and their special rolls. My favorite was Mount Fuji roll, but none of the food was outstanding which surprised me because of the slightly-above-average prices ($70 for two people). The primary complaint I have is with the rice in the rolls and nigiri, which was moist yet somehow a bit crunchy. The rice made each roll a little disappointing, and while the sashimi was good, it was quite small for the price. I enjoyed the atmosphere and staff so much that I may return to see if they just had a bad night with their rice.

Gave three stars do to the fact that the first time we visited everything was good, good prices and well plated meals. However the second time our food took over an hour to arrive and it wasn't even busy. Would still try again though

My regular place for sushi. Always greeted with a smile, and always leave with stomach full of yummy!

Its 2019 and Sushi Ginza still my favorite place for Sushi and Sashimi experience!
Of course, not true Japan cuisine ( how far are we from the oceans, ppl?)
But everytime we dine here, seafood is delicious and staff always friendly! We have deadly shellfish allergies, and everytime , telling servers.. I see servers write on note pad .
We feel very safe eating here!

I've been infrequently visiting this sushi resaurant for 20 years, and the quality has always been outstanding. The service is "ok". Sometimes you have to get up and get someone to help you but the food is always very fresh and well prepared.

I don't eat seafood but still like to go out with my friends when they want to, this was the first sushi place that I actually enjoyed the non seafood options rather than just tolerating them
I had the teriyaki steak and mashed sweet potatoes

The decor and food are awesome! When you go in you are met with a cute little water garden and a bridge that goes across it. The food is as equally good with my favourite being the Kamikaze roll ($11.50). It was delicious and the spicy mayo wasn't too overpowering. This is a nice place to go for family outings or dates.

My family & I ate here for my mother's birthday. The family is riddled with picky eaters & special diets. Our host Calvin was diligent, personable, and able to adjust the menu to our needs. This is definitely our new sushi place & I would encourage anyone to go who's considering giving them a try.

This restaurant is overpriced for the amount of fish you actually get in your rolls and the flavor. The Hawaiian Blossom is $15 (bottom roll in my picture) and you only get 2 tiny cubes of ahi tuna place on top. The roll itself doesn't even taste good. I would say it is only slightly better than purchasing sushi from the mall. And this applies to everything I ate except for the unagi rolls. Those were the only good things! I gave two stars only because the customer service is very good and I enjoyed the overall ambience of the restaurant. All in all, do not come here unless you want to pay a premium for mall grade sushi but better customer service than the mall.

Gimmicky, expensive for what you get. Thin slices of sashimi, tempura batter not true Japanese style. Tried variety of rolls, it was just OK. You might as well pay $27 for an all you can eat - same quality as buffet. 4 of us cost $220 (no alcohol). No compliant about the service, just dissapointed about the food.

Some of the best sushi I have ever had! The service was excellent. Calvin was amazing! Very friendly, clearly loved his job. We showed up about an hour before close and most places you go the staff are rolling their eyes for the late table. Calvin was warm and welcoming. He made our experience that much better.

Needless to say this is our new favorite spot, and can't wait to go back!

We've been getting taking takeout here for the past few weeks since the Covid-19 situation. They have online ordering and they food is ready in 20 min. The food so far has been very good. We've had Katsu curry, Yakisoba, Yakitori chicken, Donburi bowls, and other items. All the items have been hot fresh and tasty.
When you get to the restaurant, you call them and they bring the food out to your car. They place it on the hood, and you get it after they leave. It looks like they have good physical distancing practices going here. Oh yeah the guy that brings out the food also has gloves and a mask on.
In this strange world we live in today, my family and I find this is a good option to get take-out food.

The staff are very nice, great service. The restaurant inside looks clean but a bit small. Overall good place. However, the food is very blend. Blend tasting sushi rice as well as sashimi. Now I understand why some reviews said its nothing special. The presentation of sushi looks nice. I just cant get over the fact that all of their fish including white tuna, salmon, red snapper and ebi ( cooked shrimp) are just so.. tasteless; Besides, all the fishes that they use seem thaw from previously frozen. Almost like they soak the fish in the water for a long time to thaw or something. I am very disappointed in this place. Have such potential to be a good SE sushi restaurant. I am not joking but the sushi in co-op actually tastes better than this place

Pretty cool sushi place in Southern Calgary. The salmon was awesome and the service was friendly. A little bit expensive than the sushi buffet places. (cause it's not a buffet, haha.) The Japanese green tea was nice.

A great place to take your date. Amazing atmosphere, modern but traditional. I love the waterfall and koi pound in the restaurant. The food was very good as well, top notch, sushi quality is comparable to some good sushi joints in Japan.

So realisticly its nice inside but small and if you think its a buffet sushi style or *all you can eat* its not. its deliciouse wont lie but ... Also very pricey so if your not going with money dont go. Ask for terriyaki sauce and they charge me. I paid 4 bucks for gingerale and they gave me a small glass and no free refills. I coulda just baught a whole two litre one. Its pricey as hell and you will leave hungry spent 75 dollars and still went out to eat more else where. The sushi bar is nice the cooks are awesome but its not enough. 5 bucks for like 2 pieces of sushi and some are even more expensive. So good luck on throwing your wallet away.

I have recently been here twice within the span of a few weeks. Both times, my fiancee and I have made a point to try sushi that we haven't had. The first time we tried the mango roll. It was delicious! The mango was a nice sweet touch to end a meal with. The second time we tried the caterpillar roll off the laminated menu. I think that I enjoyed it even more than the mango roll, which we ordered again of course! The caterpillar roll was excellent paired with a slice of ginger.
The staff was terrific as usual and my company and I left very satisfied. The atmosphere which includes the background trickle of the fountain is a great touch. 10/10 will return here to enjoy sushi again!

Always a good experience, the staff are super friendly and remember our order. Definitely my favorite sushi restaurant. Everything is always really fresh and made with finesse. Our go to spot often, highly recommend!

Sushi Ginza is our family favourite.

Sushi Ginza is our family favourite.

We enjoy coming here because it is consistently good (over the past five years) and has good service.

When it comes to sushi you get what you pay for. Higher cost sushi usually translates to better sushi as it means the restaurant uses fresher, higher quality fish as well as more fish vs some others that seem to be peddling mayonnaise and rice.

Sushi Ginza isn't the cheapest. You pays bit more for higher quality and fresher fish.

Great service, very nice ambient, kids friendly! And the food was amazing! Very fresh and the portions are perfect.
They have a lunch menu that also runs during the weekend.
Very happy if this discovering!
I'll go back soon!

DO NOT WANT KIDS HERE! We went here this afternoon at 3pm with our 3 kids... after our experience we thought we might be on that show What Would You Do?

When we walked in we were greeted, we requested a booth as we have kids and booths work better. That s when it all began. We were made to feel as though we were a nuisance for requesting a booth, even though there wasn t anyone else there! The place is tiny so when the guy went to lead us to the table he had to squeez by our girls and was visibly annoyed that they didn t instantly know that he was trying to go by them. Once we were shown to our table we were rudely asked to remove our shoes. In hind sight this is when we should have just walked out, but against our better judgement we stayed.

After having our food, some good, most very bland and subpar; I was paying our bill while the guy who sat us was sitting another couple across the isle when he apologized to the couple for our kids!

I could understand all of this if our kids were loud and disruptive, but our kids were very well behaved. I m not saying they were perfect, I m sure they were a little louder than the average guest, but there was no yelling, fighting, or crying.

At the end of the day, management may want to look into a new hostess as this guy is costing this place customers.

I've been to Sushi Ginza a few times now and have enjoyed each time. The restaurant has a cozy feel to it with dimmed lights and pleasant decor. The staff have been helpful every time I've gone, helping me with any questions I have as well as making great suggestions for orders.

You can dine in or order take out, either way the food is always fresh and tasty. My only complaint would be that the shrimp on some items is tough and a little sour tasting.

All in all this is one of the better sushi places I've been to in Calgary! You should definitely check it out if you're in the area and looking for some affordably priced, great tasting sushi.

The grip is hard. It s too much grip.

The grip is hard. It s too much grip.
The scroll wasn't bad, so maybe the scroll uses something that comes out with rice on the machine and the grip is held by a person, but it's better to remove the shoulder force a little .
The taste isn't bad overall, so do you want to work harder?
