Came here for an outdoor show and it was great! Can't wait to come to more!
Seated right away, food was fast and great, and our hostess was very friendly. Definitely the best place I've been to dine at while in Austin. :)
Pricey, no creamed corn (Texas BBQ?!) Refused to make 2 meat BBQ sandwich. Mashed sweet potatoes needed marshmallows or candied pecans. $36 for 2 sandwiches and 2 teas.
Really enjoy this place. Good food, live entertainment. Only challenge is parking.
Positive energy! BRUNCH offered a variety of choices that accomodated the diet lifestyle of each of us.
Born & Raised in Austin, and I've been here for so many music shows that I forget to remember that they have some of the best food you'll ever taste. Stubb's is part of the heart & harmony that makes us The Live Music Capitol of the World!
Bar-B-Q was pretty solid, though I'm certain you could find better elsewhere. That said, still very good! I was jaded a bit as we first tried Franklins and, well, now nothing will be as good as that.
You can't beat great BBQ, brisket and live music. Prepare to wait if you are there to eat.
Great place for live music! Not a great place to get drunk listening to live music....but when is beer not overpriced in public?
great good
great venue
staff is not friendly
Famous BBQ in the heart of downtown Austin. Tons of history and flavor. Enjoy some live music while your there!
Showed up with a group of 15 intoxicated 30-sonethings on a bachelor party on a Thursday night. The staff did everything they could to accommodate us, even with a few loud and obnoxious friends.
The BBQ was fantastic. The prices were very reasonable. The food was great, but the staff really made the place a definite return venue for everyone.
Stubbs was a second choice for us! We had originally planned on going to Terry Blacks, but after seeing the line...we quickly decided that we did not want to wait that long for dinner! I am so glad that Terry Blacks was busy because Stubbs was AMAZING! If you like spicy, you must get the salsa and queso! It was so hot (and kinda a weird appetizer for a BBQ place) but it was so good! Best thing I ate all weekend log on our trip! Highly recommend Stubbs!
Food was really good and service was great. Adrian was the best
Not bad. For the price,I'd have expected more quantity
Ive never had the food, but this is my favorite music venue.
Will not the bst BBQ or even the worst. I happen by stubbs one day due to Franklin BBQ being closed on a Monday. I ordered the typical brisket plate with one shiner beer. The brisket actually was not bad. It had a smoked peppered ring but the meat fell apart when you tried to pick it up with the fork.
The bean soup was a blast , I haven't eaten charro beans in a long time and these where a very good bean mix.
A plate of brisket, cut fries, beans and a Texas toast + one premium beer was approx 25usd.
Beer was $7 per pint and brisket was half fat. Place is overrated. Music is good and people are nice though.
Came here for the free week to watch a couple of bands play. We had a great time watching the bands from the upstairs balcony.
Superemely tender meat and tasty mashed sweet potato and vinegar-based slaw.
Probably some of the best ribs I've had. Got the combo plate with ribs, cornbread, and the sweet potato mash and fried okra. Sweet potato mash might've been too sweet and cinammony. Everything else was amazing. You won't regret it.
Amazing outdoor venue with the real feel of an old Texas town with bars all around and the food is as amazing as you guessed!
Let me preface this review by saying I know this wasn't going to be the best BBQ in Austin but there is no way I was going to wait 4 hours in line at other places. That being said, my husband and I were extremely disappointed. The cocktails and service was good but the food was almost inedible. I don't know if maybe they were just having a bad day or what, but our food had absolutely zero flavor. The mac and cheese and okra were decent, but we couldn't even finish our meats (brisket, pulled pork, chicken, and jalapeno sausage.) I'm sure Stubb's is better as a concert venue than a restaurant. I would find another place if you're in the mood for BBQ.
Can't believe people saying the staff is friendly. They refused to serve a soldier because he forgot to tip them. You try going overseas where tipping is illegal and then see if you remember to tip the first place you go back in the states. You aren't entitled to tips. Never refuse to serve those who serve you! Nice spot to see a band/show but we will never come back because of how rude and entitled their staff is! Food was just meh as well, and the server hardly spoke to or noticed us, hardly worth a tip even if he had remembered. Just terrible service and staff.
I have been to more music venues at this location then I count but funny thing is I ve never tried the barbecue. so unfortunately I can t give a review on the barbecue they serve. I can however tell you every concert I ve seen (which always happened to be outdoors) was excellent! well worth the price paid.!! Awesome establishment!
Concerts here are great! The outdoor area is standing room only, so make sure you wear shoes for that. But I love getting a bite to eat and seeing a show here!
Well, unfortunately I took no pictures this time of this small jewell in downtown Austin, Texas. Directly across from my hotel room at the Holiday Inn Express, I could see and smell Stubb's BBQ restaurant. Quaint with lots of character and history. If walls could talk!
I have had BBQ in Memphis, TN and other notorious locations, and this was very good food, service and atmosphere. I'd say on par with the others. And, the price was lower than I expected.
If you are in downtown Austin, Texas for an overnight trip, it is worth the walk from whatever hotel you are staying. I found nothing "wierd" about this little gem!
Was not impressed; maybe my expectations were too high. We arrived late Saturday evening, and many of their menu items were out of stock. The BBQ was cooked adequately, but nothing memorable, and their sauce is just ok.
The homeless are in near proximity, making it difficult to avoid being bombarded with peasantry. They had 16 oz. Deschutes Brewing Fresh Squeezed IPA for $10.
Fantastic brisket sandwich! It literally melted in my mouth.
Came to see Grouplove. Stubbs did not disappoint. Decently priced but the BBQ was great
Stubb's is one of my favorite concert venues downtown. Small and intimate yet open and airy. A must experience in Austin.
Great meats! The dry rub on the pork ribs was really tasty and the BBQ sauce was a perfect complement. The brisket had a nice bark on it, full of flavor. The sides were kind of ordinary though. Other than that, it was a memorable meal.
Service was good, staff was friendly and the atmosphere remind me of the westerners. The BBQ was different then what I'm used to having. It was a unfamiliar taste. I was looking for that smoke flavour in every bite but it wasn't there.
I have a confession to make...I didn't go to Stubb's for the food so I must return to review that portion of the venue. I went for the music during Free Week. The atmosphere is pretty much like one would expect for a Texas BBQ joint; however, there's a twist. There's a full bar along with inside and outside stages. I saw a show inside where the stage is located on the lower level of the establishment. It was fantastic! The acoustics are divine in this place. I want to return to sample their food because the smell of it is enticing.
Absolutely amazing barbeque food, meat that just falls apart. Friendly, helpful staff provide prompt service.
The brisket was excellent. Tender, with a great smokey taste. The price is also great since the portions are very generous!
I cringe whenever I think of tourists and visitors coming here foe BBQ. My friend said it best when he said the sausage is the best sausage heated in a microwave and then left under heat lamps. The other food is lousy and over priced.
Didnt eat here, went to the concert venue out back! Awesome.
Can't speak too much about the food because I've never eaten there, but the amphitheater in the back is absolutely fantastic. The music and artist that come through this venue are amazing.
Every event we have been to has been run really smooth with no issues.
Puro Good Times!
Great bbq joint. Got seated quickly, the servers are fantastic and attentive. The pulled pork, ribs and sausage were top notch. Great atmosphere overall. Highly recommend.
I really like to watch bands here. I have never had their food but it smells really good. Parking sucks but if you don't mind paying, you can park reasonably close. I would recommend this place for concerts, whether inside or out.
Mar 19, 2019. Great staff and cool atmosphere. Fried Green tomatoes were fine but I've had better, i thought the okra would be pan fried instead it was deep fried. The slaw was excellent and flavorful. The sausage was great, pulled pork was fine w the house bbq sauce, but the brisket was mouth watering, full of flavor and fell apart trying to eat it. My next trip will be triple brisket!
I didn't go here but Google says I dis sooooo... this is awkward.
Great venue! We went there for a craft beer festival, it was a little packed, but it was still great fun! Can't wait to go again!
The building is better than the BBQ but the BBQ ain't that bad. They have a really cool looking live music venue in the basement. If those walls could only talk!
Very good, recommend by locals.
Would go again, I recommend!
Fair price, great food!
A little bit expensive, live music sometimes in the backyard not for free
Service was quick (once seated) and food was great.
Busy so find a spot to stand but the food is why it so busy. A great place for bbq.
Did not try the food, but as a venue for music it was great!
The ribs are great, sauce is good, but other cut meat was dry. Other than that the place had nice atmosphere.
Good place to see a show, but not even close to the best barbecue in town.
Recommended for their Sunday Gospel Brunch. Make sure to have a reservation because otherwise they might not seat you in the room where the band is. The food was ok - not the best brisket I had in Texas, but still worth it for the experience.
Good but not great, great building but food is mid core for Texas BBQ.. Sorry blacks BBQ is my favorite.
Consistent food, great service. Always a crowd pleaser for out of town folks.
Great food. Haven't been to a concert yet, but hear they are great.
Best BBQ in Austin, the music was great to. If you're in the area you must go!
Went to the venue to see GreenSky Bluegrass and The Lil' Smokies. Neither disappointed. Great show and great venue. Will return
This place a nice. The Australian head waiter was particularly charming and helpful.
Very good. Love the appetizers. Wine pour a little skimpy!
Brisket was tasteless.
The only sauce available wasn't good enough to camouflage the meat.
You can enjoy a variety of barbecues at a reasonable price. The side is also delicious. I don't know the name of the dish, but the spinach cheese and jalapeno sauce were delicious.
Great live music venue. I saw WEEN there in November of 2017 and it was an experience that I will never forget!!!
The food lives up to the hype. Made it in for lunch on a Monday, sat with no wait, and had a delicious plate of food on the table right on time
Not a cool venue! If you re under 21 u can t walk out to the street level then come back in! Every employee I had an interaction with was rude too and for no reason at all! Asking a question or being in there way! 0% hospitable.
Not worth going back. Cornbread was dried out and the meat had absolutely no flavor. Had to drown it in sauce. Understaffed.
Was good but did not succeed in blowing my mind. I guess that part of my brain when it comes to barbeque is reserved for hard 8.
I'd go back with a group but alone I think I'd choose a competitor.
The 10:30 Gospel brunch starts promptly on time, you get an hour of music and time to eat then they start wrapping things up so they can get the next group in at 12:30. Plenty of food can't get everything on one plate if you want to taste it all.
Food quality was excellent and portion sizes were huge. All BBQ is cooked and seasoned in house, sides were southern comfort foods and were delicious. We tried several different options, all were good but the Turkey was absolutely the best, so tender and seasoned perfectly. Prices were reasonable especially for the sizes of the portions you received. Would definitely eat here again.
Great live music venue. Also good food too! It does get crowded, so get there early if you want a good spot.
We use their barbecue sauce so we were excited to try the restaurant. It was classic Texan barbecue. They have different sized meat platter combos which include very generous sides. We had one meat choice with 2 sides for about $16 it was more than enough food. It gets busy, so you might wanna come early. There's a stage downstairs, so I'm guessing there's live music but it wasn't happening during the lunch time when we were there. It's good food and there is a large enough section that everybody can find something they like.
Food & service was amazing. Loved the music and the atmosphere
