We tried going to the Gospel brunch but the band didn't show, bummer. We had tix for Miike Snow and it was great.

1st time visiting... the chopped beef, the brisket & ribs were very good! The turkey was moist, tender. None of the meat was overly seasoned. The potato salad was good. Most times potato salad at BBQ spots are either heavy on the mayo or heavy on the mustard. My hubby also like the mac & cheese. The mashed potatoes were REAL potatoes.
Thanks food was great and the gospel brunch was on point for the weekend
OMG. Visited Texas, this famous restaurant was a must go to place. Large selection, great ambiance and pleasant service. Food was absolutely delicious
Great place to see a show. I imagine your experiance will depend on the show you are seeing.
I mainly come here for concerts. The indoor stage is perfect for smaller bands and the outside stage gives you a ton of space. All the concerts I attended were great and I think the venue contribute a lot to that experience. Any food I had while here was usually catered so I don't know if it was actually from Stubb's, but we did have barbeque once and it was good so maybe that was them. Either way, I don't see myself coming here for the food, but I will definitely look forward to the next concert.
I don't appreciate that they allow an employee of theirs to evade his child support.
Fun place with good food. Love the spicy BBQ sauce.
My wife and I went here to see Blue October perform. The music was good and the band did a great job, but the layout of the venue made it a little difficult for a shorter person like me to see the show. The venue is outside, behind the main BBQ restaurant, and the concert area is simply a dirt area covered with gravel that slopes down slightly towards the stage. The slope is too slight; however, to give any sort of "stadium seating" aspect to it, so it is hard to see over peoples heads. There is also not any places to sit to rest your legs, so it made for a long night of standing. There are some positives of the venue, however: the sound system was excellent and even though it was outdoors, it was easy to hear and the sound was very loud and full, the way I like it. There are also many walk up stands to get drinks and food, so you do not have to leave the venue to get refreshments. There are also some dedicated restrooms for the outdoor venue, so you do not have to go all the way inside the restaurant.
Overpriced food. Tasted good but you gotta bring those prices down! I have not been here for a concert so I cant judge that.
Didn't eat here. Attended Pat Green concert. Awesome! Will be back!
Place gets packed had a great time. Security is a bit judgmental and power trippy. Again I did have a fantastic time.
Table services was good. Staff were nice and polite. Food was good. Great presentation of food.
My wife and I went on a date night to Stubb's BBQ in Austin and had a great time. The salad was amazing and the Family style BBQ could fill the biggest appetite. I'm not a huge fan of the sauce because it had a strange "vapor" flavor. I think it may have been too much vinegar. It really bothered me, and I thought that maybe it was just the sauce at the restaurant, so I bought a bottle at the store, and it had the same flavor. I asked at the restaurant if they had a different sauce, and they said that was the only one. Oh well. I can't really fault them for the sauce, because, apparently a lot of people like it, so maybe I was just "off" a little that night. Other then that, my wife and I had a great time and the wait staff really was amazing.
Stubb's is obviously an icon in Austin for their live music and BBQ sauce, but SURPRISE! The BBQ itself is damn good. Get the pulled pork! The cheesy spinach was great if you're a cream cheese fan; it's almost like eating spinach dip, which I am totally okay with. The brisket was great as well, but MAN, that pulled pork. So tasty. The service was good, and the wraparound booth by the door is a great people-watching spot.
Nice place to stop by if you want to enjoy some live music and BBQ. The fountain drinks are HUGE. My sweet tea was probably the size of my head.
Went for gospel brunch buffet. Tasty food in building that feels historic. Great service. Fun time.
A wonderful place for ribs, brisket and barbecue. So much history at Stubb's in downtown Austin - the entire place is steeped in music and killer food. Live music every night.
It's was ok. Brisket and ribs were good. Chicken and pork not so much. Sides pretty good but the condiments were all from the grocery store. Much better to choose a venue where it's all from scratch.
Day 2 of 2 with Texas BBQ. It was the Three Amigos though: Jason, Scott and yours truly. So naturally Scott and I chided Jason that Stubb's had utensils including forks (vs Smitty's Market in Lockhart yesterday) We all ordered a 2 protein meal of some sort. I generally pick brisket + whatever I'm feeling which was chicken today.
Service from our male server was prompt which is not my experience in the South - and I'm happy about that! The meat was great to me, but not so much to my dining buddy, Jason! Seriously, he turned his nose up at a majority of his meal in favor of Smitty's despite all the fuss he had about it!
<UGH>
At any rate, if you're in Austin and need Shiner and good Q ... please come here.
Brisket was amazing, BBQ was ok but bland. Sides were good too.
Excellent service and the quality of the food was beyond description.
Good on Stub's bbq for being back Metalachi! Love the pulled pork sandwiches!
Great BBQ! Great Atmosphere! Fantastic concert venue! Looking forward to this year's Rancho Alegre Conjunto Festival coming up May 5th! Last year's festival had a great family-friendly atmosphere and a stacked lineup of Tex-Mex Conjunto talent from all over the state.
One of the know bbq places in Austin, Stubb's is located in the Red River district. Went there for lunch on a weekday and ordered the Stubb's Major which included three meats and two side dish. I ordered brisket, pulled pork and jalapeno cheddar sausage with fried okra and sweet potato fries. The plate also came with pickles, onions, spicy serrano peppers and Texas sliced bread. The brisket was definitely tender but the pulled pork was too dry. The service was so so as my server bypass my table when I needed my sweet tea refill. But I would go back again just to try their other Texas BBQ
Good service, no wait, good drinks, the meat and bbq sauce was good but the sides + corn bread ranged from average to straight up not good (I thought good corn bread was required in the south??)
Best outdoors small venue I've been to my whole concert life.
Great party place. Went to see Ben Baxter Band...AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME, great sound and very entertaining
Pricey drinks. Hard to get close to the acts to hear well because of large crowds.
We had the pulled pork and brisket. Service was prompt and good. It was a bit spendy. Their meats were fantastic, but I've had better cornbread.
There was a band doing soundcheck. They weren't bad but (and it was soundcheck) but perhaps they were a bit loud.
It's worth checking out if you are looking for bbq.
Not the greatest brisket ever but the overall experience was excellent
Brisket was pretty much a pot-roast unfortunately. Sauce was good.
Had the best Notre Dame tailgate party here! Go Irish!
Pulled pork is pretty good, brisket is good, chicken is a bit too dry
I've never actually had the food but this is an amazing venue for live music. I've been here for over a dozen shows and it never disappoints!
Food was over cooked and we were ran in and out like cattle.
For Tourist, Ribs were not fully cook (raw in some areas). Prices seem higher than value. Rate as a 'been there done that'. This can not be the best BBQ in Austin.
Quaint little place to eat BBQ. The food was good. The building is what stole the show for me. There is a stage and dance area. The detail on the bar wood was amazing. I love the pipe railings leading to the bottom floor. The service could be a little faster but other than that a great visit. You will not leave here hungry and have enough food for tomorrow s lunch.
My 1st official Texas BBQ. Very good. Little on expensive side.
Worth the trip, good brisket. Good service, not too crowded when we were there. Only in Austin for the game day. Got what we needed.
Great BBQ. Cool wait staff. Live music. Heart of Austin. What more could you ask for?
Love the BBQ I drive all the way from Floresville just to eat at Stubb's!
Good food, great scene! Love it. I have a lot of great memories here!
Delicious BBQ, fantastic music venue, decent bathrooms. We always have an great experience when we're here. Highly recommend Stubb's for dinner & concerts.
Phenomenal Texas Barbecue. The server's here are very friendly and the food was brought out incredibly fast. It's hard to beat a good dish of Smoked Meats. The brisket pork ribs turkey and sausage are just incredibly good. I really like The Rustic Smokehouse type decor. I am only sorry that I missed the Gospel Brunch. Highly recommend!
Excellent drinks and music,! Love the bands and Ambience. Staff and clientele fun and friendly
Another Austin classic with large bbq portions for a decent price (you can find cheaper, but the experience at Stubbs is great). I HIGHLY recommend the Gospel Sunday Brunch buffet over everything else.
Last night's concert was great! The venue was excellent. It was way crowded but that's to be expected. The security was on point too! Kudos to them as well.
Great venue for live music. There's always a chance someone will drop beer on you from the restaurant balcony, but what fun is a concert without the threat of mystery liquid falling you?
The Serrano Spinach is insanely good. I love BBQ and smoke my own. I know BBQ well enough to tell you it only gets so good and even the best BBQ'er will make an average brisket from time to time. The meat I had here was wonderful and done correctly. I also didn't have to wait three hours just to say I ate somewhere (those people only do things so they can talk about it online).
Stubb's is a great place. They have excellent sauce, reasonable portions, and killer sides.
Enjoy.
Brisket was a little dry and the pulled pork was a little over sauced. This would be a decent place in Maryland, but I was a little disappointed for an Austin place.
An awesome place for great music, great drinks and a great time!
Excellent food, beer and staff. Food could have been warmer. Great venue
The best place in Austin to find great food and live music. The BBQ is amazing, the Poblano Spinach is the best side i've had in a long time-spicy! Indoor music venue is intimate/cramped but has a great balcony that offers great views. The outside is one of the best outdoor venues I've been to. The are the audience stands in has a noticeable slope up as you go to the back allowing everyone in the back to be able to see over people.
I don't go here for the food, but instead for the concerts. They have a great outdoor area where they have shows all the time! The stage setup is good so that you really don't have a bad place to see the show.
A favorite venue of mine. Outdoor and indoor stages. Amazing bbq, amazing shows.
We went to the Sunday morning Gospel Brunch. What a hoot. The band was really really fun and the crowd had a great time. The food was good, buffet style, with a good selection. Nobody left hungry. The standard kind of Texas Buffet, with the main meat being brisket, but there was also fried catfish, lots of vegetables, macaroni and cheese, and some really good grits. A little skimpy on the desserts but after all that good other stuff, there wasn't much room for dessert. But overall it's a really great package. You just really should make a reservation for it in advance because it's pretty popular.
All together it's a really good time, in a terrific Austin experience
First time going and it was fantastic. The food was excellent and left me full for the rest of the day.
We stopped in for a quick meal in the early evening. We were pretty much the only one in the store, so service was pretty much instant. Their barbeque was pretty good, but I think their sauces were where it was at. The service was also very friendly.
A quick tip to travelers, the area just west of here has one of Austin's only homeless assistance programs, so you will notice an increased activity in the area.
Great food and great service. Wish there was seating for the performances/concerts at their venues. With that said, the acoustics in the basement area were very good, even though the opening band had a lot of feedback. Will be coming back though!!!
Great BMI event...bad female bar tender upstairs...lets hope she is working her way thru college
Stopped by for a late lunch. Service was great. For zero wasters, bring your own napkins. Unfortunately your silverware is rolled in a one use disposable. If you are anti plastic, the drinks are served in plastic cups but they wash and reuse. Spinach side was awesome. My husband, who is just being introduced to bbq across the south was extremely happy with the meat.
Awesome BBQ never disappoints and great music too !
