Food was eh. We came for the concert so it was good for making sure we didn't get to hangry after a long day work. Reasonably priced and decent

Great venue - love the outside area. The BBQ itself is pretty average.
Busy and overhyped but still a requirement to check out if in the area
Didn't eat. There for a show. Got in early and had a great spot for a great show.
Stubbs is my favorite venue in Austin, i have grown up coming here eating dinners, catching shows and meeting great people.
The bbq isn't bad,I've eaten here several times and I can't explain why but a few times it wasn't very good. The manager made it right and I have continued to come back, the beer is ice cold and when they have live music it's almost always great.
Ate there on Friday night, prices were high for quality and quantity of meal. We had the brisket sandwich it came with two sides. The food came out faster than McDonalds- my first drink (rum & coke) was great, second one was half the size. No one addressed us or thanked us when we left. Disappointing considering we walked fem the LaQuinta down down to eat.
Amazing! I grew up in Houston, lived in Dallas and Austin. This is literally one of the best places in Texas. My brothers and myself love this place, we always go here every time we come to Austin.
BBQ was amazing. Food was everything we were hoping for. They were busy so there was a wait but that's what happens when you go during SXSW. Would highly recommend this place if you are just stopping by or if you're a local!
Delicious food and awesome stage space downstairs and great concert venue in the back. I had the pork ribs plate with fried okra and potato salad. I left full.
Sub par BBQ and of course it's expensive. The neighborhood also leaves much to be desired as the homeless shelter is right down the street. This would be very low on my list to take out of town guests for BBQ. There's a lot of great BBQ in the central TX area. Just ask a local carnivore and they should be able to point you in the right direction.
Brisket was very tender and the freedom taco was huge and messy..
Not at all like the hype about having great smoked BBQ. Meat (brisket, chicken) was very dry and didn t taste like it was smoked. Seasonings on outside of meat tried to simulate a smoked flavor but fell extremely short.
Service was very good. Restaurant isn t handicapped accessible because restrooms are in the basement.
Cool joint not so good bbq. Too much gristle and poor cuts of meat. Very disappointed. Friendly staff.
Stubbs is both a bbq restaurant and a music venue. The outside holds a decent amount of people. When they have bands playing they open up food stands serving bbq dishes and multiple bars outside. There is a 2nd indoor stagd that is smaller. The restaraunt is seperated from the venue side but at the same location. The food is pretty good, try it out!
Great BBQ and live music. Enjoy the gospel brunch here on Sundays.
Great food lovely people and the wait time for food and seating is minimal!
Very cool place with great service and ok bbq... it also has an amphitheater and indoor stage, cool building!
Came here because of my fondness of Stubb's sauce, but found Stubb's BBQ to be lacking.
Solid bbq, but far from outstanding. For such a flagship, you might expect more.
Tasty BRISKET ! Interesting atmosphere and buildings. We weren t able to stay around for the concert, I m sure it will be a great one!
We were hoping that they had a pet friendly patio, but no!
Saw 3 nights of cheese, great venue, great staff, sounds was good. Glad to have visited!
The meat was so tender and seasoned very well and the server was awesome
Loved the sausage. The brisket was okay. Good bbq sauce.
Love this music venue. The sound has always been great-the audio techs have been there for years and it shows. Both outdoor and indoor stages are intimate and small enough to get up close and personal to your favorite artists.
My girlfriend and I went to eat in this restaurant given the numerous and good reviews. We can only confirm them! We took the brisket, it was very tender and very tasty. Average prices. Very satisfied.
We went for a concert that I thought started at 9:30...so I brought my son...but they ended up having an opening band and starting at 10:45. it didn't exactly turn out like I pictured, but Stubb's is always a great venue.
Great food. I gave it 3 stars because the food was cold.
Went for the gospel brunch buffet. It was delicious and the music was great. Make sure you make a reservation, otherwise, you're not getting in.
Excllent BBQ. Seems as if they have made a commitment to the past, the old, in their decor. Nothing faux antique that I saw
It's difficult or impossible to find a bbq restaurant in texas that isn't great. Stubbs smokes so much brisket every week. Its crowded and popular for a good reason. Everything I've eaten here was amazing
Good barbeque, reasonable price, outstanding service. Iconic atmosphere.
Service was friendly, and speedy. In the Red River district & has live concerts. Wanted to love the pulled pork but it was dry. The beans were good & the sweet potatoes fries were hot, crisp & very tasty.
Chop beef sandwich was to sweet. They are not the original. Stubbs
Different owners used Stubbs name. And messed up the recipes. The pinto beans are tex mex.
Stubb"s is the right place to be for food and most definitely live music. I would recommend their BBQ to anyone.
I'm from NC, so I know BBQ. This place knows how to serve some BBQ! Awesome place!
Trying Stubbs carry out for the first time. Dark haired, chubby girl at checkout not too friendly. How many other customers has she scared away? Won t be returning
This bbq wasn't bad, but it also wasn't great. I definitely enjoyed it, but there are also several better places a short distance away. The ambiance was fun, the location is great, and the prices were reasonable so I really don't have any sincere complaints, but there are just so many good bbq places in Austin that you have to be really exceptional to stand out.
Lots of BBQ choices in Austin but Stubbs has delivered every time. Excellent pork, hard to find at most places. Nice location downtown, will keep me coming back
Nick is one of the best servers I have come across.
Southern hospitality at its finest.
Delicious food, amazing brisket and great people.
Awesome food and live band eventually cam on. Could have been better if they had music playing until then
I have only eaten here once, food was ok. My main draw is the concerts. Stubb's is a great venue, I always enjoy going to shows here. Usually really good bands come through there
This review is for the amphitheater only and probably a little unfair...but none-the-less, here it is. I have been to this venue twice, both times for free and both times we had VIP passes (meaning A/C and free food!). But I *tried* not to let that sway my vote. For an outdoor concert venue, it's great. They serve both craft beers and your normal everyday stuff. They also have pretty good food, especially for a venue. It's not outrageously priced. I wouldn't say the acoustics are top notch but they are very good. I like that I can actually hear the singer sing instead of just blasting music that makes me want to wear earmuffs the entire time. The staff usually appear to be having fun, joking around with each other and getting into the music if it's a good band. Overall, I would definitely recommend a concert here.
Great food, good selection of beer, good service! Great place for Music venues!
Over the past few years, concerts at Stubb's (Waller Creek Amphitheatre) have undergone a disappointing decline in quality. Maybe it's the increased cost of tickets and obnoxious service fees. Maybe it's the drastically more expensive beverages. But most likely it's the complete lack of audience awareness of proper concert etiquette. The crowd talked through M83's entire set until "Midnight City" was played and then promptly resumed talking. There was a constant drone through the entire Passenger performance, which utterly ruined his music. At this point, I only attend concerts at Stubb's if the band is A) very loud or B) I get there early enough to be very close to the stage.
'Tis a sad era for live music in Austin.
Incredible food, good beer, friendly staff. Can't go wrong.
First time experiencing Texas BBQ, I was definitely impressed with the food. Great decor as well.
What can you really say but that it is a must see place. It is an Austin original. Good bbq, great atmosphere. Some of the best live music. Awesome venue. Don t miss gospel brunch.
BBQ is EXCELLENT!! So tender & juicy, just perfect! Drink selection somewhat limited & pricey but well mixed. Staff is super friendly & attentive. The restaurant is well run & a great atmosphere. The amphitheater is another story...
Really well cooked meats, subpar sides and I don't like Stubbs BBQ sauce (but I already knew that before deciding to eat here). Bottomline there are much better BBQ places to choose from in this city.
Great venue. Lots of space. Really going out of their way to observe social distancing and COVID precautions.
Cool atmosphere and awesome BBQ. I got the brisket, sausage and pulled pork and it was all killer. Potato salad was super good too and of course banana pudding for dessert.
The ribs were amazing - aside from that everything else was.....good. Unfortunately the price tag didn't reflect that. If you're coming here for a live event AND to eat I'm sure the cost is more palatable but for simply stopping in for dinner I have to say Stubb's was a bit underwhelming. Our appetizers weren't on par with what you could get from a national chain - let alone a local specialty restaurant. Our 3 meat trays gave us the opportunity between two people to sample almost everything. The rub used on the ribs is truly spectacular but everything else was mild in flavor and, in the case of the chicken, the cookery itself was off leading to dry slightly crumbly meat. The side dishes were all very basic - yet even with their simplicity they missed the mark. Service was a bit rushed but I suppose that is to be expected given the brand popularity. All in all we wouldn't stop by again when back in Austin as there are many other options in the area with better bang for your buck.
