I ve been here for many concerts and a few other venues. I ve always had a good time here the place was always staged right and every rocking experience has been great. I m always on their website looking for the next best concert. I prefer the outdoor shows but the indoor shows are just as well. The drinks are great here also.

Stubbs bbq was a great dinner spot. I tried the mild buffalo wings and they had so much flavor it was great. The portion size on the bbq plates were huge. They had jalapeno cornbread so be prepared for some spice. I would say this is a great place to grab some great bbq food!
This place may have been good before, but my wife and I just visited there and it was horrible.
The BBQ meat was cold, as if it had been prepared in the morning and simply plated when ordered (it took less than 3 minutes to get our food from when we ordered).
The meat itself was not marinated and had no flavour besides the few spices (if you consider pepper a spice) it had on top.
My mojito had absolutely dead mint leaves in it, and tasted more like soda water than anything else.
Recommended by client, but I would rank it after Rudy's and Salt Lick. The flavor is not all there. Also there is only one kind of sauce which is on the vinegar side, not my cup of tea.
I was just there over the past weekend and the food wasn t great. I had a margarita and it tasted fairly weak, as if there wasn t any alcohol in it at all. I would have expected the food to be amazing with the prices the way they were.
As a restaurant I have never been too impressed with this place. As a concert venue it's incredible. Always a great experience whether you are inside or out. Be prepared to stand in line to get to the toilet. But you can't find a better place to get close to a performer. It's almost like having a concert in your backyard.
From my understanding supposed to be great. The Gospel brunch was nice. Music was best part. Food was only ok, grits were runny and gravy runny too. I can say the meat and breakfast scamble were good.
I was really impressed! I know a lot of people say there are better bbq joints around. I ve tried most of the high rated joints but thought the brisket here was best. Just add some Louisiana hot sauce and that s all you need. The spare ribs were good and super moist, but lacking a bit in flavor. Also the sweet potato fries were lacking.
Cold hard sausage. Cold fatty brisket. Cold pulled pork. Untoasted toast. Cold limp onion rings. Boring commercial bbq sauce. Average cleanliness. Unengaged blah service. Just a poorly run restaurant. I d give one star but I gave two so it gets read more. Go elsewhere.
Gospel music Sunday is an AWESOME idea. Loved worshipping and eating BBQ as I was out of town and couldn't attend my home church. But the quality of the brunch was pretty bad. Food was lukewarm and the beef brisket was mostly fat. (I'm a bit of a BBQ snob after living in Memphis)
Awesome concert venue! The location is great near good parking and Austin's 6th street. The beer selection is pretty basic and I wish they had actual bathroom facilities and not port-a-johns but it's still very enjoyable.
The barbecue is good, the music venue is GREAT. Attending concerts here really makes me feel excited to live in Austin and take advantage of such great live music. The crowds are invigorated and you feel more connected to the artists than you would in a large amphitheater. I've seen Gary Clark Jr., Grace Potter and the Nocturnals, and Ryan Bingham here; no doubt more will be added to the list in the near future!
I will say, allow for extra time to find parking before the show-- if you want cheaper parking options, you may need to walk quite a few blocks.
BBQ was not good. Sides were the Best feature. Service was adequate. This is a one stop and forget it place. Meat tasted of starter fluid or nat gas, nit sure which. Go once. Only once. Order was incorrect. Been there, done that and not again.
When the side veggies they serve is better than the BBQ, the place has a problem. The meats were tender but no flavor. The table sause wasn't at all good.
My cocktail was pretty watered-down, but hopefully that was a one-off. Brisket was great, which is why I went there in the first place. Prices are relatively low and you get a ton of food. It is a little loud and there are parts that look a little divey, but overall it's fine. Plenty of families there.
The Sunday Gospel Brunch is lots of fun, but book your reservation early to make sure you get a view of the band. Also, fill your plate on your first buffet visit, because they may not refill every dish!
Stopped by during recent travels to TX. Clearly they are know for their two music venue stages, but most people are familiar if their BBQ sauce. The food wasn't anything special and didn't stand out from other BBQ places, the flavor, quality, and presentation was neutral. Unfortunately my guest got really sick after eating there (I didn't feel all that great after either and we ordered completely different meat and sides). Our reaction to the food may have been isolated and don't know any locals to ask them their experience but some of the reviews are in line with this so it seems like a hit and miss for food. Staff was friendly and overall comfort at the place was good.
It has a good atmosphere that you'd expect from this kind of place. I was here for a company party. There was no live music, but I can imagine it being great for that. The staff was pretty nice. It would have been nice to have fewer disposable cups/plates/silverware because we only had about 60 people. (Kind of a pet peeve of mine for a sit-down restaurant. They have to have a dishwasher, right?)
Food wise though... Our company includes 5-10 vegans. This was known going in, of course, but I was personally very hungry while everyone else started eating. I was shown ingredients for a "Frito pie". If I had paid for this in a small group, it would have seemed like a bad joke. (Literally Frito corn chips with kind of a bean mixture to put on top.) I figured a BBQ place in Texas wouldn't really be vegetarian-friendly, but I was trying to keep an open mind because it's Austin after all. I've had some of the best plant-based food I've ever had in this city.
Anyway, our company had food delivered from another restaurant for the 5-10 of us. It was pretty good, but I'm not sure where it was from. It was awkward though.
I've been to German restaurants that happened to have amazing plant-based sausages. Some of the best food I've had actually -- I was very pleasantly surprised. If a German place in the US (Seattle) can do that, why not a Texas BBQ place in Austin? I'll keep my fingers crossed for the future. Vegetarians are out there and just avoiding Texas BBQ places right now.
A note to the management if you read this: we would have been happy to pay well for this as a company and not needed to order food from another restaurant to eat here. There's a market for this and if just one BBQ place in downtown Austin fills it, it would be welcomed!
Being a BBQ food junkie and spending lots of time behind my pits the food is pretty good. Nice place to have a dinner date and catch some live music with some cold drinks.
Took my parents to Gospel Brunch on Christmas Sunday and we could NOT have had a better time. The music was wonderful and the food delicious. Only wish it had been a bit warmer...if you're going to be there on a cooler day, be sure to dress warmly.
Damn was it good. I hobbled or of that place full of beer and meat the way God intended me to be!
Thank God for Stubbs!
I never went at night but they had a back yard that looked like it was about to get circus fun back there. If I didn't need to pass out before getting back on the horse I would have ripped that place a new drunken line dance.
Would never write a review but seriously this place is overrated, BBQ sucks.. go to Franklins BBQ or Ironworks if you're in Austin. I went to impress my parents and the waitress was extremely rude and took forever and on top of that everything was cold and basic. Go ahead and don't take my word and regret the $80+ you wasted.
We got here right as it opened on a Saturday afternoon. We were seated right away but if them awhile to send someone to our large table of 7. The service was great besides that. We loved the spiked lemonades and teas. However, the pulled pork sandwich I had, had a really stale/hard bun. I was pretty surprised about this as they are known for bbq. The meat was great and everyone else enjoyed their foods. I probably should have said something which is why I m giving better 4 stars which I think is fair.
