I purchased my 2017 Honda Ridgeline from Kathleen at Stokes Honda. Stokes is a very comfortable place to purchase and Kathleen knew the product well and was able to to show me all the reasons the Ridgeline is the best midsize truck available. I love my truck and I highly recommend Stokes Honda and Kathleen as the salesperson to request. I would like to take the opportunity to mention that the Stokes family wholeheartedly supports the miracle League which helps children with special needs including my beautiful daughter to play baseball in the Summer . I bought my first and only automobile in 2009. It was a used honda civic with 40,000 miles. Upon moving to Charleston, I have used Stokes for the past 10 years for the service of my car. whenever they are servicing my vehicle while I am working out of town, they are great keeping in touch with me via email. I feel like I am receiving service on a personal level. I have since moved to Florida, However when I am in the Charleston area I still have them work on my car. The last representative I worked with was Sean Collins. He was very helpful and informative when explaining the condition of my car. I have 140,000 miles on the car now and I plan to keep it forever
James was very patient and helpful to find the best fit for a vehicle for me. Brittany was helpful over the phone. Parts dept was great to get all weather mats ordered quickly. Overall good experience.

Let me just start off by saying our Service Writer Virginia was Fantastic and very kind!
Now for the real reason for this review, My Husband and i brought our car in there to be fixed because the AC system was acting strange spraying out Freon from underneath the car and through the air duct vents and making very loud sparking/grinding type sounds. So we brought in our vehicle to be repaired because we do not live here and were helping my parents move here from Massachusetts to which we ended up having to not only pay $300 for the car to be fixed but also having to pay for a rental car to get around while our car was being "fixed " mind you they ended up fixing something else that they thought was the problem and we started our car this morning to figure out that the same issue is still happening and now there is absolutely no air not even heat will blow through the vents which is what we bought it in for in the first place. Needless to say i am pissed off that we just spent over $300 to have a problem fixed that wasnt even the actual problem! My Husband mentioned it being the AC compressor the whole entire time we were there several times and they insisted it wasnt the AC compressor, and said that the belt was slipping because the serpantine belt tensioner was no good! Noy a happy camper as we are nowin the middle of our journey home and im praying nothing bad happens because of this mess!

I found a cash car online that I was very interested in. I called them and they told me to come right away to talk to a salesman. When I got there I was teamed up with a guy named Tim. At first I thought his personality was a little dry but after working with him for hours he was a pretty cool/nice guy. I realized his dryness was his professionalism. I offered them what I could afford for the car and they didn't want to take my offer at first. Which was fine, it's a business. It was more so the big man in the negotiating office that was giving me a hard time though. So I decided to go look at another dealership for another vehicle that was my 2nd option. The other dealership jumped on the opportunity to take my cash offer but I wanted to give Stokes another chance before I left them hanging. Once I called and explained to Tim that I really wanted the car they had but I could only spend what I talked to him about. He spoke with the Big man again and I drove off with the car a few hours later. Thanks TIM!!! Even though it was a bit of a Hassel everyone has a job to do and companies have to make money. Therefore, I was not at all upset about playing the negotiating game. I'm just happy they were willing to work with me because I will definitely be a returning customer to get a brand new Civic in the future. Tim was an outstanding salesman who made sure I was comfortable every step of the way. What I really liked about him is that he didn't treat me any different from the customers that we're buying 40,000 cars. The car I bought was for my 15 year old and it was only a few thousand dollars but I still received first class service. TBH everyone was very polite and energetic. I also enjoyed my time with the finance manager. I believe his name is Eric. He is very upbeat, charming and easy to talk to.
I my 2018 Accord. Michelle Grooms was my SalesPerson, we started off slow because I wanted a Black Honda and they didn t have any at the time. She set me up with a rental until a Black Honda arrived; however the next day, she called to let me know they located the Black Accord I wanted. She was on point and hung in there with me from the Beginning to the End. After the sale was final she checked on me days and weeks later to make sure I was still enjoying my ride. Well I called about getting a key programmed for our Honda Van. Wasn't sure if that was the problem so we asked about changing the ignition switch also and had it towed to Stokes Honda North. Well Tom Tucker informed us that the part was there not had our Van for two weeks. Tom Tucker is a liar and also the other lying young lady that was working with Tom Tucker Mr Rude! Tom Tucker said to me when I asked why did you say you had the part when you knew you didnt. He said well maybe I sold it how rude Tom Tucker. He also informed me yes Tom Tucker that I can come pick my van up two weeks later we got our Van back. Trust and believe we will not be using you Stokes Honda North Ever...

My Honda had a check engine light come on. After some diagnosis I determined that the problem was one that Honda had identified in a Service Bulletin 13-081. As part of a class action law suite Honda agreed to extend the warranty on effected vehicles up to 8 years and with unlimited mileage.
Prior to visiting Stokes I called Honda directly and confirmed with them that my repair would be covered under this TSB. Honda ran my VIN and agreed.
I carried the vehicle to Stokes where they did the diagnosis. The repair advisor called me and confirmed that indeed TSB 13-081 applied to my vehicle, and they would do the repair at no cost to me thanks to the extended warranty by Honda.
I had the repair done, and when I went to pick up the vehicle, I was handed a bill for $2000.00. I explained that I didn't have to pay because of the extended warranty associated with this TSB. The employee told me that MY VIN WAS NOT COVERED BY THIS TSB! The employee said that only vehicles manufactured on certain days were covered. Mine was not.
This all seemed strange to me since prior to going to Stoke's I had already confirmed my VIN was one of the effected vehicles.
To end the conversation, the employee said, "well, I guess we just ate a piston job."
It seemed very strange to me.
I would caution anyone who goes to this location to have service work done, DO YOUR HOMEWORK BEFORE YOU GO! If I was not mechanically savvy and did not pre-coordinate with Honda directly before going to Stoke's I would have paid for a $2000.00 repair that was covered by warranty. Even after all that they still tried to force me to pay.

The AC on my '07 Civic hasn't been right for about 3 yrs, the air going from cold to warm with no warning. We tried a lot, even buying and installing a new compressor, to find that it was still doing the same. The Service Dept had the issue pinpointed in minutes and now I have COLD air again! Shout out to Jack Nathans who took the time to explain everything in detail and answered all our questions expertly! Going to Stokes North when we decide to buy another Honda!

The team at Stokes Honda was incredible. Kathleen worked with management to get me a Costco Auto Program price since the Ridgeline was not on their list. I originally wanted a used truck but she explained in detail the advances made in the 2020 model so it was a no brained!

We didnt plan on buying a car today but thats pretty much how it always happens right? The place was slammed busy with people everywhere. In the sales rotation we got Sam and at first I wasnt sure if this was going to be a great experience or not. Sam is a straight shooter and very knowledgeable and it took us a little to warm up to each other. He did a great job pointing us in the right direction and didnt push us to finance it or any extended warranties. We hit two obstacles in the hunt with the first 2 vehicles he showed but he didnt quit... that is when you know you have a good sales person.
He pulled thru by listening to our concerns and found us the perfect vehicle! He also found the 2nd key that they originally didnt give us. Nice guy I would do business with again.

Sam is still great but the rest of the team here has no structure on follow up.
The service department can't handle the volume and getting a call back on a issue doesn't happen. The service manager Mark is a nice guy but 5 voicemails and 3 times a receptionist stating they left him a note to call me back is pretty bad (this was over a 2 week time)
Having to get the salesperson Sam to help get a call back from service shouldn't be needed (thanks Sam)
Still have drive train vibration and rough idle on Pilot with 16k on it. The 2007 GMC Acadia it replaced sounded and drove like a Lexus compared to this Pilot.
Bought the new car in cash and (30 day) temp plate is now expired and still don't have a title...the registration/title lady (extension 1210) hasn't returned calls in 3 days (3 seperate voicemails )
I tried emailing Mr.Madden about the issue and he hasn't responded in 2 days...when he forgot to have me sign something when I bought the car, I had him fax me it and I emailed it back to him within minutes. When I need his help, not a peep. The receptionist said "if you get a ticket we will pay you back" Thanks.

Took my wife's 2015 CRV in on a Saturday for it's second service interval, as we all know, Saturday is usually a very business day for service departments. However, our car was taken in at the set appt. time and we had our car back within an hour. Great service.
My first and only time I went there was for a scheduled routine oil change, as indicated by the service code in my Accord. Used to get this routine maintenance done at my previous Honda dealer all the time w/prompt service. While waiting in the lobby with half a dozen other customers as they inspected my car, the service manager came out and performed the old jiffy lube tactic of rattling off 10 things that 'should' be fixed and that there could be consequences if they're not addressed. He even brought out one of those fluid trays that displays the proper color of every fluid in a car and matching samples adjacent to them from my car as a comparison. Of course, none of my car's fluids looked ideal. One of the issues addressed was the timing belt which, per the Accord service manual, should be completed at 105K miles. My Accord had 98K miles during my visit. The Manager said that if I elect not to get it done now, and if it breaks, your car will have to be towed, just like all the others that are towed into their dealership every day. "Don't take a chance on that timing belt, now" were his exact words. (I ended up taking my Accord to a non-Honda shop for service at 105K miles and they said the belt can last another 5K miles.) So after I feel pressure to have all this service completed, I then sense that this dealership does not represent the Honda brand well. Assuming most/all of the cars they service are Hondas, is the service manager suggesting that they're not reliable? While I wait in the lobby for a good 80 minutes, the service manager does the same old song and dance with every single last customer in the lobby. So instead of expecting to pay around $50 for an oil change, in like 1/2 hour, I walk out the door with my keys in hand, a bad taste in my mouth and $220 poorer to the tune of the oil change and a 'strongly recommended' transmission fluid change. My car wasn't washed or vacuumed as well, which my previous Honda dealer did with every service of every car.
My friend bought her brand new 2013 Accord sedan at Stokes and ended up paying $10k above MSRP, which included a $3k 'sport package' that was little more than a window tint. She may not have been armed with the information needed to get a fair deal, but was clearly taken advantage of.
My last beef is that they bolt a license plate holder with a Stokes logo'ed license plate on the front bumper every single new car they sell. This can involve putting holes in the bumper. As if the rear license plate frame and logo sticker on the trunk door is not enough advertising. The other local Honda dealership stays classy and leaves the front bumper clean, like every new car in this state should be.
The Stokes dealerships won't be getting our business in the future.

I will never return to buy a car here and I will never recommend you to anyone else.
I called fri morning and made an appt to look at a used car Friday evening. After waiting an hr I was informed the car wasn t available to look at until Saturday mid day. I clearly informed you I was leaving town for the weekend and could not be back till Monday after work. I was told if I made a $500 deposit you would not sell the car and I could come drive it Monday. Then Saturday you call to inform me someone else wants it and you don t take deposits on used cars and I needed to come in now if I want the car or tell you I ll def buy it Monday. I was in NC, I hadn t even test drove it yet! We discussed my trade in and I said forget it. Mostly I was so angry that I just didn t want to give you my money.
A: you should never list a car on your website that isn t ready to show
B: you should never tell a customer on the phone that they can come test drive a car that isn t ready
C: you wasted an HOUR of my time lying about getting the car when you knew you weren t pulling the car up
D: you should train your sales people to know used car policies on taking or not taking a deposit
E: you charged my credit card $500 to hold the car because I was going out of town for the weekend and then didn t honor that deposit
F: You called me Saturday to tell me I needed to come in now or you were going to sell to someone else, even though I clearly explained I would be out of town. I was so angry that you immediately decided to not honor my deposit, even though you don t normally take used deposits. It doesn t matter whether you do or don t take deposits on used cars. If you take a deposit from a customer you need to honor that! I didn t even get the chance to test drive the car!!
At least you refunded my $500.

I bought my car in 2012 and with it I bought a car care plan. I was a newbie and they took advantage of me. I go to the Stokes Honda on Rivers in Charleston for my oil changes and every single time I wait 2+ hours and every single time they tell me something is wrong with my car. I usually cant afford to pay their outrageous costs to replace this or refill that so I have to pass and look for help elsewhere. It turns out there wasn't anything wrong to begin with. Today, I come in at 9 am and wait for 5 minutes with not so much as an acknowledgement. I left and came back around 2 pm. Finally, someone helps me. I wait two hours for them to change my oil and then the man helping me tells me my battery is dangerously low and needs to be replaced. Okay, but I bought a new one not long ago. He leaves and comes back to tell me it was their battery originally so they will replace it with the warranty. COOL. Then he comes back after another 30 minutes of waiting to tell me the battery is actually fine and all that's left is paperwork. I ask what happened and he begins to treat me like a child. He is rude and talks down to me. I'm waiting at his desk and he leaves multiple times and doesn't explain whats going on. I'm frustrated and flustered and I just want to get the heck out of there. He tells me I can leave and he will give me a tire rotation for free. UHMMM It's already paid for by the plan I bought when I first purchased my car. He says I can go but doesn't give me a receipt. This is only one of many awful experiences I've had at this place. I'm extremely sorry I bought my car through them and I highly recommend going almost anywhere else but here.

I SPOKE WITH A LADY NAMED "T****" (FINANCE OFFICE) AND SHE SAID SHE WAS GOING TO SEND IT TO ME THROUGH MY EMAIL BUT I NEVER RECEIVED ONE. WHEN I TRIED FOLLOWING IT UP ON THE PHONE WITH THEM NOBODY WAS RETURNING MY CALL. THE GUY FROM THE ACCOUNTING OFFICE SAID THEY USUALLY SEND THE COPY TO THE PRIMARY BUYER BUT WHEN I ASKED MY SISTER (PRIMARY BUYER) SHE SAID SHE WAS NOT SENT A COPY AS WELL. WE BOUGHT THE CAR NOVEMBER OF 2012.
I purchased a car last month and had the best experience with a car salesperson. Michelle Grooms was very patient and understanding even while my kids were getting restless. She was very knowledgeable and helpful us selecting a car for my wife. She even called us two weeks after purchasing the car to see how we are enjoying the car. Never had that before in all my years of buying cars. I would highly recommend anyone wanting to buy a car ask for Michelle Grooms. Awesome Salesperson.
I truly love Honda cars the sales department is awesome but the service department is truly terrible . I bought 3 Honda Accord from Stokes Honda and today was truly the worst service ever on my 2016 Accord they replaced the battery within 36000 miles and less than 11 months that battery is no good and they don t want to replace it, or prorate a new one i had to go elsewhere to purchase a new battery on something they should have replaced. I guess if purchase a battery it s only good for eleven months if that s the case they need to inform you of that. The service advisor James Turner was very unprofessional.

I was traveling back home,from out of town when I realized I had a major car issue. Stokes Honda was the only car service open until 9pm. I brought my Toyota model vehicle for service to Stokes Honda. Honda was unable to fix the issue, however; what transpired was only The Most High blessings me with his grace by placing the right people in your life. I want to thank the two young men from Stokes Honda, who took pride in providing excellent customer service. The service technicians assisted with finding the cause of the leak, the parts I would need, the nearest Toyota dealership that would have the part, information on where to find the safest hotel, and a secure place to park the vehicle where it was be accessible for towing. The technicians did attempt to fix the problem,but as mentioned earlier where unable to. Because of these two wonderful Stokes Honda employees, my mother and I are safe at the Freds Toyota waiting for my vehicle to be serviced so we can make it home.

This time my service visit to Stokes was even better than usual. Often, I've had to wait a little longer than I felt was necessary with an appointment, but this time I was in and out quite expeditiously! The staff, as usual, is very pleasant and professional.
