Before you buy Acura - specifically MDX 2018 and at this dealer, read this:
Below is the summary of the timeline that I have requested for the service on the defective vehicle.
1. Purchased date: 12/22/2017 (see attached file) brand new MDX 2018 here at this dealer.
2. Cracking noise under the steering wheel in every turn and gas tank badly shaking when it is in motion. First repair requested date: 01/15/2018 Repair was denied.
3. Second repair requested date: 02/08/2018 after the noise got much louder. Repair request accepted and vehicle left at dealer for 5 days, steering wheel with cracking noise repair was attempted, but did not fix the problem. Gas tank shaking was denied.
4. Third repair requested date: 02/15/2018 for the same problem. Vehicle left at dealer for 7 days, steering wheel with cracking noise repair was attempted for second time, but did not fix the problem. Gas tank shaking was again denied.
5. Fourth repair requested date: 02/27/2018. Repair request was denied and passed on to Acura client relation office.
6. First contact client relation office on Sunday 03/04/2018. After 2 phone calls in 2 weeks, the rep. said nothing he can do.
7. Now I am bearing with the Texas Lemon Law and probably a law firm if needed.
Acura puts your safety on a side, so think about it twice before you buy.
Brought my daughter s car in for an oil change and inspection. An additional issue was uncovered and all repairs were done very quickly.
Our service manager was a pleasure to deal with as well. While he pointed out various maintenance items that needed completion, news no one really loves getting, he was very measured in how he presented it which made us more inclined to both accept the information and act on it.
This dealership ran my credit and sold a car I was looking at without even letting me know the car had sold!! The sales person Ansar that was assigned to me was absolutely AWFUL at communicating anything to me. Do not recommend this dealership at all, take your business elsewhere.

Not usually a fan of taking car for service at a dealer, but had some problem with the computer controlling transmission that my local mechanic couldn t fix. They diagnosed and fixed the problem along with a full inspection of the car and washing it when the work was done.
Darrell Babineaux and Mr. Patel worked very diligently to put me in the vehicle that I was looking for. I am grateful for all of their help. They were very professional.

Very pleasant experience. We went to look at a used/certified MDX and he was helpful by having it ready and disinfected when we arrived. (We all wore masks and he had on gloves as well) After a test drive and discussing our desires, he suggested we consider a brand new one. We ended up buying a brand new one! They had really great incentives and it's the first brand new car we have bought in 30 years!

"Bad customer Service" I just bought a used Acura at this location. The salesman told me it had working hands free calling. When I tired to use it I learned the previous owner put a pass code on it. They said they would fix it but I'd have to pay full price. The salesman even told me to go to Gillman because I'd get a better price.
Wife and I purchased 2016 MDX last week. The trade in was appraised very reasonably, right were we expected. Sales associate Mike and Sales Manager Sam worked closely to meet our needs. I'm not planning to visit the service department much (after all, this is not Audi), but the waiting area is nice and comfy with coffee and snacks, so I'm sure I won't mind the wait.

I have Pros and conns about this place, after standing there for a while waiting to get support it wasn t until Service Rep Ternisha acknowledge me after her phone call. Explained my battery situation. Obviously they had their procedures that they weren t able to assist due to not having access to vehicle records. 5 minutes after I left and she called me back to return in order to change the battery.
After I returned they didn t know I only had the battery. After she spoke with other service reps they really couldn t assist without Vehicle. However Trenisha spoke with manager in order to make it happen. In the end she was very supportive and multi tasking with other customers.
I just had a great experience with Antonio Mora and Sterling McCall Acura with the servicing of my 2015 RDX. I had to also replace a rear view mirror which meant I had to leave my car overnight. But no problem; they gave me a loaner for free and called me when my car was ready. I was in and out effortlessly.

When I took my Acura last Monday 10/3 for an oil change (with coupon $39.95), I was very pleased with the work, the report on the multi point inspection etc. Charlie was the adviser..
With that in mind I took my Honda CRV for the identical oil change (with the identical coupon) last Saturday 10/7, but was very dissatisfied with the service.
First of all , I did not see a report on the multi point inspection!!.
Secondly , the car dash board indicated an alarm that the TPMS was a problem , in other words there was less air pressure in my tires. There was no attempt to fill the tires with the proper pressure.
To make matters worse, I was overcharged by at least $5!
I took my Acura TL in for the 100k mile maintenance. I wanted some other things done as well. Christian was my Advisor. He was very professional and very courteous. He kept me informed with the progress with my car via email and phone. He called when an unexpected problem was found and sent me photos of the problem and then called to explain the issue. A very sress free process. I highly recommend Sterling McCall Acura.

STERLING McCall Acura definitely goes out of their way for the customer. Appointment times are flexible, the cost (unless something unexpected comes up) is discussed with you prior to taking your car back for service and now with the pandemic present, plastic covers for your seat, shifter and steering wheel are used. Service advisor Antonio Mora is as usual on top of his game not to mention extremely professional and courteous.

Aaron Strand was an excellent low pressure salesman. We negotiated the price online and I test drove, compared two vehicles and was home with a new car in a few hours. The finance team provided some great warranty options without being pushy. The thing that floored me is after I already decided to buy the car and the sale was closed they took the extra time to clean it up and top off the gas tank. Not cheap when we bought a gas guzzler. My wife was so happy when I brought the car home as it looked so much newer than it did when she test drove earlier in the day.

I have dealt with just about every major dealership in Houston, and I must say my experience at Sterling McCall Acura has always been pleasant one. Since I bought my MDX back in 2016, I have had my car serviced primarily by Mike Hopkins. He goes above and beyond every time and treats customers with respect. Mike does a great job explaining what I need, what it's going to cost, and when the service will be complete. He punctually follows up and returns calls as well, this has been one of my biggest pet peeves at other dealerships. Thank you Mike for making a not so fun experience (shelling out cash for vehicle maintenance) as decent as possible.

Sterling McCall Acura needs an overhaul. My customer service representatives were courteous and responsive. One of the representatives seemed to look down and text on her phone a bunch during our conversation. Customer service 101 includes being attentive and engaged when you are speaking to the customer. If you are looking at something on your phone that is relevant to the conversation with the customer, let them know.
Aestheticly, the facility is junky and old. There was excess merchandise positioned outside the parts/service area, that was tacky. The chairs are torn and there were crumbs around the seating area that looks like it had been there a while. I took/have pictures of this just in case I needed to provide proof of what I encountered.
I visited Acura for a recall issue and not to have my car serviced. I left Acura alone in terms of servicing my car. I reached out to them 3 years after having my car to let them know the leather was thin and tearing despite me barely using the car. They told me I was on my own to repair the leather that was not their problem. When I tried to speak to someone at the dealership by phone I got the run around. I also contacted Acura headquarters to explain and they also were unwilling to view or resolve the problem with my 2012 TSX. Leather interior should not tear and fall apart on a 3 year old car that is barely used. I paid $ 800 to have the thin poor quality leather replaced on rarely used car. If you want to observe high quality customer service, visit Allen Honda in College Station, Texas. They get all parts of the customer experience right. I've been taking my car there for service for two years.
Also the dealer allows a third party windshield repair company to assess your car immediately after arriving at the dealership. Before I got out of my car an assertive but polite gentleman pounced on me about fixing the chips in my windshield. Uh, no thanks Sterling McCall Acura. I don't like the pounce experience and declined their services.

I want to start by saying the customer service here well beyond the competition. They will work with you to get the best deal possible. I was allowed to have a used car for the entire day while I ran a 3rd party inspection on the vehicle.
The first thing you notice about the facility is how modern and clean it looks. There are free snacks to accommodate for the long car buying process.
Lastly, my salesman was Terrence Dixon who was the best sales person I've met. He talks to as a person rather than a number on the board.
At the end of the day, if you see a car you want, go here or you will taken advantage of and even worst waste your time and money!!!

Worked with Drew Spence, the "Englishman". Really nice fellow. Listened to what we wanted. Showed us cars on line in his office, then found the car. He's a good listener. Along the way, he presented alternatives for but was not pushy. We spent a little more than we wanted but it was reasonable because a cheaper used car would have had too many issues. It was a good experience and the car checked out with my mechanic. I recommend others to find Drew for your used car purchase.
Said work would take 1 1/2 hours but my son sat there for 6 hours. No offer of a shuttle or loaner. Kept being told almost done, car being washed etc. he finally went a got keys/car himself. Horrible customer service. AWFUL
Update: 3/28/2017 Replied to Jim Smith via email as he expressed that he wants to correct this. Its been 3 days since then and still no call or reply of some sort. Left a message to finance manager to follow up on revised contract which 4 weeks after revision still hasn't been forwarded to Acura financial services. They kept saying it's been sent.
This will be my first and last business with this dealership. Where do I begin. Went to this dealer as it was a Truecar certified dealer. I spoke to a salesman and he provided me the necessary information I needed to make my decision. Test drove the MDX. Compared lease vs buying. And since I kinda change my mind every 2-3 years I went for a lease.
Initially was looking for an AWD MDX. I explained that I am a TrueCar member and the quote I got was $2400 below MSRP. Saleman told me it cannot be applied to a lease but after being introduced to Jim Smith (sales manager) that he will honor the discount from the MSRP. We negotiated, and our guy kept going back and forth with different numbers of which we were still not satisfied. MSRP went down but not to the amount we were promised and with an insane monthly at that. Salesman left a final time and said this is the final value. So we agreed. Since it was late and I was tired from the haggling. We signed and I forgot to check the MSRP of the vehicle. The next morning I checked everything and found that they didn't honor my discount and I even paid for something above MSRP. I called them up and was given the run around telling me someone will call me and fix it. Guess what nobody did. I finally decided not to give them more money as I added some stuff (20" wheels) to lower my payments. That took a lot of work but my payments went down by $140 / month. Signed the updated contract.
3 weeks later I still haven't received my credit back and payment due was still from the original contract. I was told to call Acura Financial Services . Called them and I was told they still haven't received the revised contract.
I was being lazy and I didn't want to go to a dealership that was 20 miles out. I ended up with a base model FWD instead of an AWD.
Watch out for this dealer. They will play with the numbers and not explain to you how they came up with it. You are only valuable until you sign that contract. Once that is done you are so out of luck. You will be on your own.
Jim Smith and Arturo, they say they will take care of you but they won't. Trust but verify. I forgot the verify part thinking, they looked and sounded honest. That was my mistake.
The guys at SMA took good care of me today. I had an appointment and accordingly, there was virtually no wait. They were low in lender cars but did not hesitate to send me home in an Uber and have one pick me up. Everything was handled in an efficient manner. All the work was explained in detail. Also, they didn't try to up-charge me for anything or try to sell me a new car (I guess that's another dept.) So, I was happy!
Shelby was professional, he gave a detailed explanation and helped me make the right choice. Thank you very much. The business manager was also helpful. I'm satisfied with the service thanks guys!
