Steigenberger Hotel Berlin Review

Great hotel, delicious breakfasts, a wide variety of dishes for the most demanding guest of the hotel, a great location in the center of West Berlin, near shopping centers, metro stations, bus stops. But there is one drawback, disgusting internet, you can even say its absence, in general it was impossible to tell, in the lobby from time to time was. For such a level of a hotel, this is unacceptable. We are experienced travelers, have been to different hotels, but this is the first time we have met this internet.

I went to the terrace to eat. The waiter got to wait but when it came so did not have long to wait for 15 minutes when the food was already on the table, a level is reasonable.

Very good hotel. Luxurious, but the rooms are somewhat small.

I have been a regular guest in the Berliner Stuben for a few years, because our club evenings take place there.

We are always cared for by the staff, and the food is always alright. The staff in the late shift so deserves a praise.

Only one employee with office hours seems to have not slept well, for which I deduct two stars. Recently, the card terminals were replaced by new ones, which enabled a payment with Apple Pay. Of course that was a pleasure. What other guests and the staff might have been less pleased, is that the terminals were not mobile, so the guests always had to follow the checkout.

Who will buy wired card terminals for use in the hospitality industry?

As a result, they were replaced again and are mobile again. So everything is great? No, unfortunately not, because they have no NFC interface and can not communicate wirelessly with the card or the smartphones. Apple Pay and Google Pay will not work anymore. And you always have to enter a PIN, which reduces security because it can be hijacked.

Could the employee who buys the technology here, please be sent to a training on IT security?

The hotel room was OK, nothing special but enough for our needs. Rather a bit old and not used for a long time due to Corona. Not very friendly, just functional ..

Grand hotel, good restaurant. Nice room (despite a card system that works not very well). There is even a jacuzzi in the courtyard.

Nice hotel. Price is reasonable. Staff very friendly. The offer is average good. On the positive side, there was a free BVG card to stay.

I am recommending the Savoy Berlin to anyone going to Berlin. Besides the points mentioned above, the Savoy has true elegance and class without any ostentation. Service is experienced and deft and always polite. Rooms on the garden are incredibly quiet. The decor of the hotel has great style. The dining room is a dream--large, comfortable, with true German haute cuisine and tradition. The breakfast buffet is a concession to international requirements, but is done better than any I have experienced anywhere! I saw the chef several times checking it. The German salami is out of this world. Plus there is also "full English breakfast" including grilled tomato! Before arriving, Frln Bartsch in reservations was very helpful. Overall, I would say "stay at the Adlon if you must, but the real jewel of Berlin hotels is the Savoy..

Great hotel in the old garb! Stylish room, everything you need. Check-out at 12:00 o'clock is great! - Only building the breakfast buffet is less successful, thus long lines in the rush hour

Central, well maintained, price performance adequate. Breakfast was great.

The hotel is from the 70s so it's not an architectural gem but they do a good job to keep the rooms attractive, comfortable and usable. Everything is clean and the quality of products is good. The location is quiet but close to Ku-damm, unfortunately a bit away from current city center. The food in the restaurant was on the salty side. Overall a solid choice but nothing to write home about.

Good centrally located hotel, nice, friendly staff. Rooms are spacious and clean. Bed is comfortable, you can walk on the pillows. Breakfast is sufficient, tastes good.

Nice room design. Everything correspondingly clean. Really great cocktail bar. Problem. The good staff. Unfortunately no joke. 10 minutes in the room and room service asks if you want something more from the minibar. The next morning at 6.30 am we continued to clean up. Three people wanted in before 7. One was almost there because he probably didn't hear me scream from the shower. Doesn't work at all. From 9 am I accept such a visit, or have the sign hung up, but before 7? I can't say anything about breakfast. I found 23 too steep.

Hotel of a very good standard The minibar in the room is not a refrigerator, but I forgive them overall very pleasant stay Good breakfast, kind staff, there is a small indoor pool Good sauna and gym within 24/7.
The location of lots is very central and close to the shopping centers.

Great location, modern interior. Plus price spa (pool and sauna). Breakfast is expensive but includes freshly squeezed juices, nuts, fresh fruit salads and specialty coffees.

Nice, clean hotel in a very central location. Unfortunately the house is getting a bit old now. Some of the staff at the reception were very unfriendly and impolite, but this works better with other hotel chains in this price category.

Shortcomings: shower room very worn, parking garage MUCH TOO CLOSE! DAMAGE TO THE RIMS, ETC ARE PRE-PROGRAMMED!
Honestly, the architect should be beaten up for the parking garage.

During a short stay in Berlin, we asked if our little 3-year-old daughter was allowed to go to the toilet and were turned away very unfriendly and rudely because it violated her hygiene standards. The last time I was in Leipzig was at the Steigenberger - my very last time. One can expect a little human understanding.

Our first stay at the Steigenberger Hotel. At the reception we would be very friendly welcomed. Very quiet room received. Clean, with good toiletries. The breakfast buffet leaves nothing to be desired. We stayed 1 week and every morning we were greeted with a nice, friendly saying. We will definitely be back.

We were there for the third time because location and price are simply unbeatable. A great way to explore the city is also the Berlin Card, with which you can travel for free on public transport.
This time we used massages. One has this woman power ... We could not decide between several offers. Then half made this half the other application and settled. Just ask.
Only the bathrobes have to be changed ...

Hotel without charm. Functional. For groups and average businessmen. Well located if you like the Berlin Kudam, close to metro stations but sad, massive, impersonal and without heat despite a courteous staff. Breakfast of good quality at 25 euros.

The hotel is really beautiful. Breakfast, sauna and pool are great. The staff are all very friendly and help with any questions. The bar with their cocktails is highly recommended.

The Steigenberger is definitely not 5 stars at the moment.
Various amenities remain closed.
Due to the hygiene concept , the rooms are only cleaned every two days. The special attention to the details is missing. Duvets and towels are partly worn, the furniture has flaws.
At breakfast the hotel becomes a bed & breakfast (with service).

The selection of the buffet is very modest. Fresh are: three types of fruit, six different types of sausage / cheese. The rest comes packaged.
There are wheat rolls (large and small), small multigrain rolls and small croissants.
As I said. Not worthy of 5 stars.

Nevertheless, it has to be said that the staff is very helpful and friendly.

Very nice hotel, very well situated. The staff was attentive and helpful. The breakfast served each day was very good, and the dinning room ample and well staffed. The Internet (WiFi) was really bad, and that s my only complaint. Restaurants around the hotel are great as well.

We stayed at this hotel for two nights. The room was clean. Unfortunately only equipped for one person although a double room was booked. After a call to the reception we were helped immediately and within a few minutes we got more towels and bed linen in our room. That can happen and is not a criterion for us not to recommend this hotel. We would like to note, however, that it would be helpful to leave a note in the rooms about how the sauna / pool visit goes. This is different now and we didn't know that there were changing rooms in the wellness area. So, as we knew from another hotel, we went in bathrobes. That was a bit uncomfortable for us. As I said a flyer or something similar would be great! I can only say great about the meal !! I would stay there again just because of the breakfast buffet. The best I've ever had !! it is worth dear fellow human beings. We didn't have a seat one morning and had to go back to our room because everything was full, but shortly before the end of breakfast we tried again and were lucky. I think the staff was overwhelmed by the overrun hall itself. We mentioned this when checking out and they apologized in a friendly manner. The location is great! U Bahn and S Bahn very close by you can get everywhere quickly. We would stay there again.

Room spacious but a bit dated in style. Breakfast rich but nothing special. Location great, food otherwise good to very good. You can endure well, there are better but also many worse accommodations ...

Good place to stay in Berlin, especially after a long day of touring the city.
Free public transportation cards are a great bonus

Nice place to stay, shopping, eating and history nearby. Very good breakfast, very good beds. One thing: I asked 3 times for an extra pillow and a "DO NOT DISTURB" sign, but I never got it, so every morning housekeeping came in...... Communication between frontdesk and housekeeping needs to be improved. But still I recommend this hotel.

Our secretary made 2 reservations for this hotel. One should be for 3 nights. But she made a mistake and both rooms reserved for 4 nights. I have realised at the time of c/in and requested to change, only one room, for 3 nights. I have requested 3 times. (to the Front Office Manager, a lady who is working there for almost 10 years) Last time I would like to talk to the Hotel General Manager, but it was really impossible.
The second comedy was internet problem in 2019, in the city center of Berlin, in an international 5* chain hotel. There were no connection in the room and in the restaurant.

Unclean, bad mattresses and the buffet didn't tear itself off the stool either, if you are into the 70s you will like it

Old and Dated. This place needs a refresh. At least the breakfast is good

Needs renovations badly. Fitness room was 2 steppers and 2 running stations. Not worth the money....

Clean rooms and nice staff are of course a standard to be expected in a 5-star hotel. My little daughter is always greeted very friendly by the concierge and reception staff and receives a small gift. So she is very busy while dad checks in. :-)

We like the pool and the sauna, which is relatively spacious and in which around 8 people could lie or around 15 could sit. The swimming pool and sauna are free for hotel guests. Massages are also offered in the spa. I have had over 300 different masseurs in my life and I am quite critical when it comes to technical competence. I have already had massages with the Asian spa manager and her Greek staff and can only recommend them. Both are well trained and not - as in some hotels - beauticians who also put a little pressure on customers.
The water dispenser at the swimming pool is also pleasant, where you can get cold, tempered or sparkling water.

With the very good breakfast you can save some money by booking it in advance. It's best to ask when checking in.
It is very pleasant that you can have a leisurely breakfast here until 11:30 on weekends. In my opinion, two highlights are the beautifully filleted fruit (a good quality feature for me) and the very crispy, Swedish crispbread, which it e.g. also at the Steigenberger Berlin Chancellery.

CONCLUSION:
I like to be here, both on a short business trip and with my little daughter who loves the pleasantly heated pool area. Be sure to try the good breakfast too!
