Steigenberger Aqua Magic Resort Review

Poor service in the restaurants. No tip no service. In 7 days I only got served water two times, all other times the waiters just ignore you and you have to get something to drink on your own. Also the food was always the same and very low standard. That is not a 5 star hotel. Most employees seem to be really annoyed by the guests. Pools and the beach is very nice and clean.
A lot security, even on the beach, this is a plus.
Rooms are old at least in House 7, also the building needs some maintenance, but the housekeeping is doing a good job.

I were there with my husband and our kids, it is peace of mind and very lovely family vacation.
The gentlemen are doing their best all the time to satisfy the guests, I liked the mini disco and the bilingual lady who performed it also the warm greetings from Ms lyssan.

Disappointed and overpriced compared to the service, food, staff attitude.. Before 4 years this hotel was the best of the best hotels in Hurghada but now it deserves no more than 4 stars.

Great facility, very clean, the food was excellent and varied (compliments to Executive Chef Stephan Matz !!! and his kitchen team).
The water slides and the pirate ship were great (especially for kids).
Tip:

It's best to take a jacket with you in the evening, as it was quite windy and cool on the roof terrace when we visited.

What I noticed on the negative side was that most of the service employees / waiters in the restaurant (and sometimes also at the reception) prefer to talk to each other than clearing the dishes from the tables or setting the tables again.

Personal individual fate: Our room was facing the inside of the facility, in direct proximity to the courtyard, where the entertainment program took place on the stage in the evening. Basically this shouldn't be a problem if you go to sleep later than 10:30 pm/22:45 pm (until then very loud music). If you are traveling with children who have to go to bed earlier, I recommend asking reception for a room that is not adjacent to the stage.

All in all, a nice hotel that I would be happy to recommend!

We are currently in the Steigenberger Aqua Magic on the Red Sea and have to inform those who are concerned about vacationing here. There is no reason. After the incident that happened here, we first had concerns and quickly realized that you can go on holiday here without hesitation. There is no lack of cleanliness, without exception all employees are always trying to give the guest a great holiday. They are always friendly and helpful and very, very nice. The food is just great, lots of choice and if you are a little careful you shouldn't have any problems. So far we haven't had gastrointestinal problems the other way around. Couldn't go to the toilet for the first 3 days because I had to improvise and have a coffee with a cigarette on an empty stomach, which then also helped. A little tip get yourself to be on the safe side yomogi capsules take them before the trip and everything will go smoothly for the first few days. You should still brush your teeth with still water and rinse your toothbrush with it. Otherwise you don't need to be careful. Still had a little problem, my Visa card didn't work in the lobby at the ATM. Take your normal ec card with this it should work when you switch off the geo control. The exchange rate is 20 LE is around 1Euro. Take some cash with you from home, you can also change it there at the machine.
Mr. Dieter Geiger (General Director) also feels a permanent public presence. The construction site that is nearby does not bother us. We are excited to see how the third part of the Steigenberger hotel complex, together with Al Dau and Aqua Magic, will be.

Amazing dream vacation with the family! The best hotel I have experienced in Egypt ...
The Aqua Magic Hotel really offers something for every taste ... Absolutely children and family-friendly. Outstanding and always eager team. Mega pool landscape with a wide range of leisure activities, a short distance & shuttle to the hotel's own beach, doctor service 24 hours in the hotel, super varied and innovative restaurant concept. We liked the Sky Magic restaurant the best. Excellent in quality and service.
I especially like to highlight the friendliness and helpfulness of the hotel team. That really blew us away :-) Especially when something goes wrong on vacation it shows how important it is to have good service. The airline Sun Express forgot our luggage in Germany and we didn't get it until a day and a half later. No information from the airline about luggage! The hotel team reacted immediately and supported us tremendously and completely took care of the replacement of the luggage! Madness!
That was our best Egypt vacation and we will definitely be back!
One more sentence about the security situation: We were there during the week when there was a lot about security in Egypt ... In our opinion, Hurghada was and is no problem at all, even with family. There weren't any problems or bad feelings. The hotel also takes security very, very seriously.

The best hotel in the middle of the country in Hurghada

The food at the buffet was okay, not outstanding. The restaurants you could use once in the stay were very delicious. The staff were without exception very nice. The rooms were always tidy and the bathroom was clean. The floor was sandy from the beginning, probably already from the guest in front of us. The pool was good, the boat was great, our son was scared, we were pretty much on it! A great idea. The beach was great, the reef was nice, but partly dead. But you could see some fish. If the guests would pay more attention it would be nicer! But at low tide, they trample on the reef, instead of just waiting for the tide. Every day I got a lot of plastic cups from the reefs and bottles and sacks were there. Could anyone do the snorkeling?

Excellent place for families and kids the aqua slides is marvellous and all the staff and waiters are friendly I highly recommend this hotel to every one

Great resort with lots of temperature controlled swimming pools. Beautiful rooms where the safes, toilet latches won't work. Great food and F&B staff. Life Guards very pleasant and honest and kind.

The hotel have a nice landscape and buildings

The adults aqua is medium average one.

Food quality needs to be improved especially at the main restaurant.

Drinks are good and refreshing overall but fresh juices are out of the all inclusive package.

Rooms are well furnished and comfy and got nice compliment soft drinks but have a serious problem with the noise in the ones that have connected doors from the inside as any sound in the next door room feel like right on your head. ( At least the ones I stayed in)

Hotel overall is over crowded ( my staying was 20 Sept)

Stayed there for 2 weeks. the difference in the service between week one and week 2 was like staying in 2 different hotels. When i asked about it i was told that it was all the same staff. So i asked why my experience was so different.I was told by the restaurant manager that there is no waiting staff only table setters/cleaners. How can a 5* hotel have no waiting staff.
If it was not for Mohamed Abdo then this hotel would not even get the 2 * that i have given it. Thank you Mohamed if not for you then this holiday would of been the worst ever .

My expectations were for a 5 star hotel, but the interior needed repairs, it is anost. The halls are simple, here are some paintings (better without them). The bathroom is not up to 5 star standards, it can be better in terms of cleanliness, the tiles and tiles in some places are cracked and repaired. Dust persisted in the closet. The joints on the ceiling, on the floor are not aesthetically worked. Although the food is different, for me it is not quite varied. For example, the cakes are dry (most have a check top). There are not enough labels to mention the types of sauces (there are 2-3 labels that you do not know which sauce belongs to).

Too crowded, no space in the restaurants, no space at the swimming pool.<br/>The hotel is big and clean, but way too crowded. I have visited the monkey island of Gibraltar, and this hotel is more chaos then on that island of the apes. Most of the staff are rude and incompetent, the pools are boring, and the food is mediocre. I will never advise this resort to anyone, since there are better priced hotels in the area that are a lot better then this stinkhole.<br/>If you go to the swimming pool after breakfast, all the beds are reserved, sometimes people reserve beds at 8 and only come to the pool around 15:00h.<br/>The rooms are clean and good, but for the rest, I'm not very positive about this hotel.

Also I like to add, that Hurghada is destroyed by tourism. Ocean life is completely ruined, not a coral Reed to be found with any signs of life on it. For diving and snorkeling, Marsa Alam is a much better location.. BUT PLEASE KEEP THE CORAL REEFS INTACT BY NOT TOUCHING THEM.

Although hotel facility is great, but hotel is very crowded, you will suffer to get table at restaurant or seat at pool, it is not cheap hotel to have such very normal experience, it maybe better to visit in anytime other than official holidays or high season.

Megatolles family hotel with a lot of variety and great food!

Good hotel, good food, nice beach but walk across the road and al dhow. There is a gym with good equipment. Animators are great guys. Of the disadvantages of poor wi-fi, a terrible hookah for $ 5 and almost always an empty disco in elementy (most likely due to a crisis with tourists).

Great to a great extent, good treats and a good buffet

The Steigenberger Aqua Magic Hotel is simply the BEST hotel in Egypt, the room excellent, the staff delivered a world class service (Especially Saadan Fathy the restaurant manager and the Two gents working evening in lobby bar).
Finest cuisine restaurant.

(Only concern, at the restaurant one evening see staff being over worked for owners family after delivering a magnificent service)

Unforgettable beautiful! Very family friendly! We felt completely comfortable.

Steigenberger is a nice hotel, and if you pay anything is possible. The sellers address the bathers every 5 minutes for selling all sorts of expensive desert trips, massages, Safari and quad trips. That is very irritating, the Europeans are rightly regarded as cash shows. If you still want to make a trip, book it via the internet because it is much cheaper. The food is ok but certainly not worth 5 stars, too little variety. If you have ever visited a 5 star hotel then you know it is not. Other guests throw themselves on the buffets and leave full tables with uneaten food. The rooms are ok, we didn't really have hot water but they solved that. Outside the hotel there is nothing, continuous being accosted by sellers of counterfeit goods is very common. Guests are also frightened of the world outside the hotel, which causes the local population to become increasingly poorer. Steigenberger could set an example here and help these people and the neighborhood. At least as a family we have decided not to return to this country. Personal message for the Steigenberger management, with the resources there is much better, if you continue like this I see the hotel not another 5 years exist.

Best place for all inclusive 5 stars hotel in Hurghada.

Very nice hotel area. Staff in the pool area and at the lobby bar were super friendly and attentive.
After initial difficulties it turned out to be a nice holiday. The management took care of our problems and reacted immediately. Thanks again for that.

Great hotel with great pleasure again. I can only recommend it. Very family-friendly and children feel very comfortable here.

Hotel itself clean and rooms are cleaned daily. The best thing to do is leave your finger off eating, otherwise live with the permanent diarrhea. Just do not book trips in the hotel, pure rip-off. There are many providers on the beach or directly to the bazaar for the same trips but for more than 100% less money. Person friendly, all well and good, but always want to rip off some small money, can understand that what they want to earn but daily from 5-10 Euro I think already happig.Am airport is treated like dirt by the staff. Bus driver just as happily with the tip. I can only say one thing, never again spent so much money for such a broken country. A beautiful facade but you should see behind this.

Amazing place very clean very good stuff and 5 stars service.

The area is in itself very nice and huge, unfortunately the rooms and the food not so great.

The staff was really kind welcoming and always attentive. Several fun activities are offered from morning to evening, swimming pool with huge slide. The meals are diversified and delicious, hotel 2 steps from the beach. I really recommend steigenberger it's beautiful

Veey nuce place, the best hotel i have ever visited. Plenty of foods and drinks all the time. Many pools, Friendly stuff, nice aqua slides for adults and kids.

The hotel and tourist resort and the park in the city of Hurghada is a very special location

Nice hotel, good value. On vacation there are a lot of little things that you take for granted. For example, wind protection on the beach or hooks on an umbrella, heated pools, which are sometimes sorely lacking in other hotels. In general, I liked almost everything here. Disadvantages:
1 no soap or hand wash gel in the bathroom. Shower gel tubes only. And it turns out that you need to wash your hands with shower gel.
2 in the restaurant chasing cucumbers and tomatoes. They endured rarely and little.
3 there is no grill in the restaurant. There is no simply grilled meat or fish. Only fried or breaded.

Very nice facility with a large swimming pool area. Private beach area about 10 minutes walk to reach. Very friendly staff, they are very keen on the satisfaction of the guests and the senior staff inquire regularly, if everything is really to our satisfaction. A small repair in the bathroom was done immediately. The cleanliness in the rooms and the area is good to very good.
The food is of good quality and varied, at peak times, however, is a big crowd at the buffet. The waiting times for drinks are too long. The entertainment during the day is varied and appealing, in the evening rather mediocrity is announced.
Overall, we enjoyed the holiday there and we will be back. The mentioned negative points are hopefully soon finished considering the focus on quality.

Underground in all categories. Very old hotel with unfriendly / unmotivated staff.

We have to stay in this hotel for another 5 days and would like to move to another hotel.

One is used to much better things from Egypt ...

Just to list a few things (since Google limits the number of characters)

Noisy rooms: loud, smells like in a sewer on the balcony, you can hear taxi drivers honking in bed.
Unfriendly / too few staff and arrogant reception
Bathroom / toilet too small, when you sit on the toilet, the washbasin glass is on the left and the knee hits the toilet paper holder on the right.
Heating does not work in the room
Food with little variety and variation. Tables wobble in restaurant - restaurant is the misnomer more like a university canteen
Silicone joints in the rooms are more than dirty and filthy
At night laundry is done in the next room
14 places offer for a trip to Hurghada in a hotel with over 2,000 guests
Acquisitions at the pool / in front of the restaurant by subcontractors, no rest, very annoying
It is advertised with high-speed WiFi: Truth: no active connection, voice call via WhatsApp not possible, only send pictures individually with a lot of waiting time
Nobody shows you the room on arrival - service desert

Conclusion: not recommendable vacation in a bad, run down hotel with overwhelmed, arrogant staff. Possibly. look at other hotels in Makadi e.g. the JAZ Hotel Group was very good or the Dana Beach ...

I'm already looking forward to the standardized "Translate Copy & Paste" response from the hotel management and the "General Manager" that he couldn't read that and turned a blind eye or shut his eyes to say that something is going well here.

We got three out of nine days in a better room on this recession, nonetheless this standard of room (room number 5409) is normal in other hotels.
We can recommend the a la carte restaurants, the Palapa and the Sky.

Summary: If you are allowed to eat in the al la carte restaurants every lunchtime and in the evening and get one of the better rooms, you have reached the normal standard in many other hotels in Hurghada. When we left we were asked if we would come again and I would not like to.

This hotel and location is amazing and we would love to go back shame about the trouble 5 mins from the airport fantastic for kids and guaranteed sun

Stayed here in 2014. Got food poisoning on the last day. The hotel and rooms were fine but not 5 star worthy.

The hotel was great lovely views. Some staff are amazing and some have really bad attitude. Food was very poor quality. Internet is really poor despite the money you pay for the hotel. I would go back there if these things improve
