Ohhhhh my god one of best statue in the world's and viewing you imagine and also sea views great
I went to the Statue of Liberty for the first time in over a decade, and it was awesome. Fair warning, it is WINDY on the island. If you aren't dresses for the weather, you're definitely underdressed for this.
The view from the pedestal was nice, but not worth the crowd and inability to move. If you want to go up to the Crown, there is no elevator and the 164 steps have only 4 platforms for resting at. You also should book WELL in advance because those limited tickets sell out quickly. The park rangers suggest 6 months in advance.
If you're a National Park buff, the cancellation is in both the Information Center as well as in the Gift Shop by the National Parks Passport books for sale.
A must do if your in New York .Great boat trip to the island .Can get were busy. The museum is very good . Brilliant shop.
Could use a better system for people with disabilities, while waiting in line.
Fun Fact: I actually made the Statue of liberty in 1968, using nothing but my bare hands and a couple thousands rusty nails.
Very nice place of historical significance snd takes at least 2 hours to cover the ferry ride to the island and back at battery park. There are multiple ticket categories and you can choose basis your eligibility. Regular ticket rate is $18
Nice ride in the boat to get to the Liberty Island and very nice and interesting monument. Worth the visit but due to covid couldn't access the pedestal and the crown.
Excellent place to visit, I've been wanting to go there forever. Finally made it, and was not disappointed. Had a great time!!!!
What an amazing place... Despite high temp I enjoyed this place so much...
Although I have looked at Lady Liberty from a distance many times, Finally I decided to hop on a ferry and spend some time at looking at lady liberty close up.
You can purchase tickets online and obviously they have different tour levels, purchasing online will save you a lot of time and purchasing the reserve ticket will also get you in the priority boarding queue. I purchased them right from my phone once I saw the line to purchase tickets.
The line waiting for an empty ferry is actually quite long on a daily basis, they do have more than one ferry transporting back and forth which makes the line move a little faster. There is only so much room on the ferry and on a hot day, the wait can be miserable in the sun so be sure to squeeze into the crowd when boarding the boat to ensure you're part of the cut off, having to wait for the next ferry.
The ferry ride is relaxing and on a hot day can help to cool you off. Looking at lady upon approach to the island liberty closeup is something quite spectacular and considering the difficulty they faced in getting the foundation of the statute initially built, its even more amazing closeup.
The tour will also take you to Ellis Island which is well worth the time and extremely informational. The old hospital on the island is also really cool to see and they do have a tour which would allow you to see parts of the old hospital which I at some point will have to do. I thoroughly enjoy spending time on Ellis island not just for the history lesson and opportunity to get a close up of the awesome architecture but also just sit back and look across the water at the magnificent skyline.
This is a good relaxing way to spend the afternoon.
Cheers!
It doesn't get any more quintessential America than this.
We headed from NJ side,we had a beautiful ferry ride where they stopped in Ellis Island in between the entire view of the Status of Liberty can t be explained in words, the ferry s route is so well planned that it rotates the statue as much as possible for the beautiful panoramic view and the skyline view too
Its a very nice place to take family, friends and enjoy the day out .
It was very epic. I couldn t go inside but being outside was pretty cool. Has some Pretty cool facts and very tall. Epic
It's the statue of liberty! What's not to love. I highly recommend booking a time to climb to the top if you're physically able. It is close to 200 steep steps, but what a view once on top. If is quite interesting to see the inside of the statue too. There is a new museum on the island with a lot of interesting tidbits as well.
History galore. Loved the place. The walk on Liberty island took longer than I thought and it was amazing. Ellis island was also jam-packed full of history. So much education and the thought of 12 million immigrants coming to America through this island. Breathtaking.
A beautiful experience! Educational, fun and I would gladly visit again!
Very nice Island I definitely can recommend to visit this historical place
If you are in New York city you can't miss this place. Not only the sigh of freedom donated to USA by France in 1876 Gustave Eiffel. The majesty of the statue is incredible and if you will catch nice weather you will have a great view. Don't forget to visit another Ellis Island which was the gate to the states for all the world.
Most popular visit in new York. Is a must no matter what. Suggest no need to disembark the tiny squeezy island. Just stay on the cruise and turn a round will do. Is a long que and is not worth wasting time to disembark.
This is the heart of our national symbols. A beautiful statue and what it all represents. Good form of government and immigration and what they saw on the way in when they first came here to the USA. Wonderful! There is a museum in the pedestal as well as an additional museum which talk about all of the history of the statue. It is very busy, but worth it all!!!
Excellent place to visit with family. We ate pizza, hamburger, everything es excellent, thre place is super nice, walk around the statue it was cool
Excellent place to have a great day. I love everything. I get the ferry in Liberty Park and everything was fast and easy. You can get food in the ferry and in the Island and there the Lemonade was amazing
It was amazing!!!! Staff was knowledgeable a d friendly
Prepare to face airport style security and being crushed together with hundreds of people. Ensure you bring a lot of water (there's no way to get any once your in the queue).
The entire time I felt like I was stuck on a conveyor belt, with the security shouting typical nonsense.
Once you get on the island you find that the tickets you bought only get you there, if you want to actually go inside you have to buy an upgrade, only to find you need to buy another upgrade to climb the statue...
So in short pay a lot of money to be crammed together, then be ripped off by the constant "upgrades".
A few of the other couples on the boat agreed they'd wished they had spent the day and money on something else and it was a waste.
I'd recommend paying for boat tours that pass near the island. You'll get a better service and view wise, it's no different.
Cheap and easy to go there. Worth the time and the money.
Very impressive statue with nice views. However the boat there was expensive and very crowded.
Decently organized and there's lots to see from little facts in the stairwell to the view from the top
Must visit! You don t know what you are missing out till you get to the island....
yes you can see lady liberty from Staten Island ferry... but what you see from liberty island is mind blowing!
I recommend getting tickets from the battery park ticket counter itself and not from any agents...
Beautiful views, gift shops. Everything is wheelchair accessible. A lot of culture and history. Truly a beautiful place to visit
Of course it is a Wonder of the World and it is spectacular. In the photos featured along, you can also see the stairs to the crown. It is a long winding staircase with just over 140 steps. Usually crowded to get to the crown and there is a wait time, but once you are up there it gives you amazing views of the skyline.
Beautiful work of art I'd come to see again given the chance.
Iconic masterpiece. Place also has good food around.
You take the subway to Bettery Park, go through the park, buy a ticket for 19 dollars per person and stand in line for the ferry ...
Then the inspection, as before boarding the plane, but the Americans are very organized, although in our case, there were a lot of people, boarding the ferry, to Ellis Island and sailed ...
Views of the Statue of Liberty open up great ... On the island with the statue you can stay as long as you want.
Then you can take a ferry if you want to go to Ellis Island, you don't have to go straight back, it's your choice.
There you visit the Museum of Immigration, the cost of the visit is included in the ticket for the trip, and you go back ... I recommend
I'ts a must in New York don't hesitate to visit this iconic place. Plan your visit, if you have in mind visiting the museum , you have to get your tickets online, you cannot do it there. There are many options to arrive by ferry is ok, the view is very nice. The Reserve Ticket provides ferry access to the grounds of the Statue of Liberty on Liberty Island, plus the Ellis Island Immigration Museum on Ellis Island. Does not include Pedestal (inside monument) access. Around 25 dollars.
Beautiful Weather. Amazing Views of Downtown NY. The Statue of Liberty is breathtaking! A must for everyone visiting New York City. Lady Liberty represents so much and there is so much history you can feel it.
Iconic and the new Museum is Amazing. Highly recommend visiting
Whether you have a booked time or not wait is still the same (long). Lots of interesting facts when you reach the island and gift shop has good variety.
Worth.
Do pre-book your tickets online to avoid long Queue.
Checking will be like airport.
Long waiting for fairy.
Go early.
On statue island you can take good photo.
Immigrant museum is not worth to go better to stay on fairy/ship and return.
Wow! We got a boat trip to see The Statue.
We got really close and had opportunity to take amazing pictures.
Would do this again!
Such an incredible landmark ! Definitely recommend. If you ever visit NYC , you gotta make a ferry trip to see this beautiful artifact. It is so huge and breathtaking when you get closer . A significant landmark in American history.Definitely gotta check it out !!!
Everyone should see this at some point in their life. It really can't be put into words. The ferry ride over was fun and it was all very surreal. We cant wait until the new visitor center is finished.
Lady Liberty! If you take the tour you will learn how she got her name and how she came about. FYI she was a gift from Paris! You also will get to see how she was constructed and what all it took to get her standing! So much history!
New museum makes the trip a much better experience than before. Its a must do in NYC
It's awesome. It's the Statue of Liberty. We took the Ferry over to the the Statue and to Ellis Island. The immigration museum is really well done. Great info and we learned a lot. There is a free audio tour that guides you along and is a nice way to explore at your own pace.
We visited and climbed the statue up to the crown, it can get quite wet when it rains as the statue does leak (built in France...) So wear suitable shoes. The museum in the base is quite good, the audio tour was interesting.
The experience of actually getting up close to this iconic landmark is hard to explain. You get a sense of awe thinking about how many have seen her from ships -- either coming to America as immigrants or leaving our shores as soldiers. The crown tour books very far in advance but you can often get pedestal tickets easier depending on the time of year. If you can, go for it. We did just the pedestal and there is plenty to see in there about the design and building of the statue, plus it's nice to get higher up for the view of the harbor and to see the statue even closer than from the ground. There's a new museum being built, which means you'll get to see a lot of the history and memorabilia even if you can't snag a pedestal ticket, which is a great idea. Watch for it to open in 2019.
10th year in New York, yet never had the time to go there
You will have to take a ferry ride. You can take ferry from Battery park. Ticket costs $18 pp and return is free. You can go very close to the statue of liberty monument. There is a park as well where you can hangout.
Best Place in World....
"The Statue of Liberty National Monument officially celebrated her 100th birthday on October 28, 1986. The people of France gave the Statue to the people of the United States over one hundred years ago in recognition of the friendship established during the American Revolution. Over the years, the Statue of Liberty has grown to include freedom and democracy as well as this international friendship.
The Statue of Liberty is worth a visit if you have spare days in your itinerary. The ferry departs from the terminal in the middle of Battery Park - 400 metres NW from the Staten Island Ferry Terminal. Allow three hours to visit Liberty Island; there are security checks prior to boarding the ferry, usually a significant queue and a stop at Ellis Island on the return.
It's friendship symbol of two big countries.the countries were america and france.this statue located in Ellis island, newyork harbor.
Fantastic place to come with family. Iconic, both on ground floor (for its park!) and on the upper levels. You can always expect a crowd, but its always worth coming here. Lemonade is magical as well.
One of my favorite places on Earth not because there s much to do, but because there s much to feel. The closer you get to the statue, the more exciting and emotional you may get. To many, the Statue of Liberty is a symbol of many things. To most of us, it s a symbol of freedom and the pursuit of happiness. In order to get there, you ll need to go by water taxi or private boat. It ranges from USD 13.00 and up. Once you get to the tiny island, there s a price to go inside the statue, and a separate price to get to the highest point of the statue (Beware: it s not always available). With your ticket you can also acquire a visit to Elis Island, the entrance port for many immigrants decades ago. In short, this place is all about history and the symbolic meaning of the statue. A MUST for ANYONE who visits New York/New Jersey. I took the attached picture from a private boat.
One of the places that you must see if you visit New York
Lady liberty!!! Had some awesome views of the city.
An important landmark that every American and lover of freedom should see at least once in their life. This icon that proudly stands as a beacon of hope has become a symbol of freedom to the world. Visit in person to experience its grandeur and powerful story for yourself.
Clean and gorgeous. Beautiful view from the top of the pedestal once the fog lifted. Every American should visit this amazing monument.
Awesome place, to take epic photos of Manhattan . Been waitting 3 hours queue but still worth it
Nice and cool its amazing place
Tony stark and the great sidekick meet their
Superb top world attraction that is amazing to see and is a must if you are in New York. Top Tip: visit this attraction on an afternoon and evening boat trip. You can get some stunning photo shots.
Best to photograph at sunset for some unforgettable pictures that your friends will be totally jealous of.
If you go to New York you must visit the iconic lady . Normally when you visit places you have wanted to see for many years, when you get there it's disappointing. Not this time .as some people would say it has the wow factor. Make sure you have plenty of battery power for you phone and cameras as you will taking a lot of photos . As she is a beautiful lady and the views looking Back at New York are fantastic.
Book the crown tour EARLY!!! It seeks out fast!!!!
Really awesome being there for yourself. Not overly expensive, but STAY AWAY from the vendors on the street selling trips, book it ONLY from the official website (liberty tours).
It is good planing of you to visit Statue of Liberty, where chance is there to see faces and meet people. I would suggest visit by ferry, because the sight is very clear from different angles and also chance to see island.
An awesome place which shows what America stands for. A beacon for many global travellers for centuries and that continues. A ferry ride after Ellis Island visit provides a good perspective.
Amazing experience. Loved being here. Booked our tickets online and hence was hustle free.
Beautiful place and Historical. Is under some repairs but you still enjoy your visit. Gift shop have a lot of gift for your memories. The only reason I gave this 3 star rate is because we spend 3 hours almost on the line to get the ferry to the island. And is no any advice that tell you what to do when you get there. For example: that you had to do the line to get the line in the castle to change your city pass ticket into the Statue of Liberty Tickets.
Great place to visit in NY. We took the ferry from NJ to the liberty island. It was a quick 15 min ride. We were able to get tickets to the pedestal but not to the crown. If you want to go to the crown, you have to get tickets way early.
This is the iconic visage of New York known all around the world. I did the Crown Tour which is well worth while if you're up for the 354 something step climb to the top. It isn't possible to go up to the torch anymore sadly. There are another 300 something steps to the pedestal before heading up the crown. Those stairs are conventional and easy. There is a lift only for wheelchairs. There is no lift to the very top and the top is not accessible. The view out the tiny porthole windows in the top is narrow but breathtaking. I went on a stormy day and you could feel the entire statue sway as you climbed the cramped spiral staircase which was also wet and in places slippery. The only way to get to the top is to book your Crown Tour in advance via the parks website. Don't buy from street sellers they will just rip you off as they don't have real tickets. You need to do this if you're coming to NYC.
One of the many places to see when visiting NY. Or if you're a NY resident who has never been there. Come see and enjoy.
This monument really needs health inspection. The horrifying condition makes me cry. Not really tho because I'm a straight up communist. BUT MAN! When is the last time this was clean. ITS GREEN AF!!! I remember when it was copper brown. COPPER BROWN! That's how dirty you capitalists are. Keep ya junk clean. Peace! -Senior Stalin
I almost feel a little bad about only giving the statue of liberty for stars but they don't do a real good job of making notice that if you don't get over to the other island early enough you'll miss it. Plus as you can imagine it's crazy crowded if you want to go up in top of the statue you better make plans about 6 months ahead you can see the downstairs part of it usually pretty quick but forget about going up in her. But it's a beautiful island in a great place to be a great visit. Highly recommended the park rangers that work there are super friendly and very knowledgeable find one and ask him some questions about anything and they'll give you some great stories
The visit to the Crown is worth it! A lot of super tight stairs, but it was such a cool experience. Plan to spend a good portion of your day at Liberty & Ellis Islands.
This was our main reason for visiting New York. We both had not been to the statue and it was on our must see list. We booked our tickets way in advance and was able to get crown tickets. The cost for both was very reasonable. Hint number one take cash and a quarter. You will need a quarter to open the locker that you have to store your items in. We had to borrow a quarter from a stranger as I didnt remember reading this on the website and had no cash on me. They do have a change machine that takes dollar bills. The check in for the boat was pretty much like going through airlines security. Try not to wear a belt or any extra items you will have to remove and then put back on. You can not take coffee or food past this point. Wear comfortable shoes and dress for the weather. The day we went it was very windy and chilly. I took a small backpack with a winter hat, gloves and sweater which all came in handy. The boat does offer refreshments but it's all cash only. There is a gift shop and I believe a snack area at the statue. Going up to the crown was Okay. We took the elevator half way, that's as far as it goes, then we walked the tiny and winding staircase. There are areas to stop and catch your breath on the way up. Once you make it in the area is very small. The staff when we got in the crown was very nice offered to take photos of us and gave us answers to all of our questions. They seemed like they enjoyed their job. We appreciated this as not all staff we encountered were as nice or helpful. Security was impatient and rude. Overall, we are so glad we had the opportunity to experience this great Amercian historical monument. It was well worth seeing!
Its amazing to see the American Icon up close and to read all historical fact about it. N to visit Elise Island where the immigrants first arrived and been processed.
What an amazing experience!!! With the ferry ride you already get an amazing view of New York, Lady Liberty and Ellis Island. Make sure you book in advance.
The audio tour was absolutely amazing. It was short and sweet and informative. Take your time and don't rush! Buy the Statue of Liberty copper coins as a souvenir.
You have to make this trip. It is a place that all people should visit and appreciate. The American experiment is unique in the history of man.
Book well in advance to get to look out at the crown. Amazing but the walk up. The stairs to the crown is not for the faint hearted. Spectacular views
The historic significance. and the ferry ride to and from the island is great
This amazing piece of iconic American History cannot be missed. Our symbol of freedom. She is strong and beautiful. The museum is wonderful and should not be missed. Be brave. Go to the top of the crown and enjoy the view! She is truly a sight that will inspire you.
