What to say. It was amazing. Very well put together. The experience for someone handicapped was about as good as it could get. Yes, it's tight, but they know what to do! Very impressive on how they keep this monument alive and display it proudly... As they should!

It was great I was able to know statue of Liberty in detail before visiting this museum,I didn't know that in detail but after visiting here,I learned its history more and more. Explain is literally goood. I would like to recommend this place after seeing statue of Liberty:)

The Statue of Liberty was a joint effort between France and the United States, intended to commemorate the lasting friendship between the peoples of the two nations. The French sculptor Frederic-Auguste Bartholdi created the statue itself out of sheets of hammered copper, while Alexandre-Gustave Eiffel, the man behind the famed Eiffel Tower, designed the statue s steel framework. The Statue of Liberty was then given to the United States and erected atop an American-designed pedestal on a small island in Upper New York Bay, now known as Liberty Island, and dedicated by President Grover Cleveland in 1886. Over the years, the statue stood tall as millions of immigrants arrived in America via nearby Ellis Island; in 1986, it underwent an extensive renovation in honor of the centennial of its dedication. Today, the Statue of Liberty remains an enduring symbol of freedom and democracy, as well as one of the world s most recognizable landmarks.

Me and my family were here last year. Love this place! The scenery is SO beautiful. If you love taking pictures with different sceneries, this is a GO TO place. Excellent for a change of scenery and different memories to make. They offer a ferry ride to the monument and if you get lucky and they have the ticket available, you can go to the top of the crown. They sell food and have small stores available, plus the cool breeze of the water surrounding it all is just amazing! Hopefully we will be returning again.

The whole trip from cruise to liberty view was good. Since we planned it on sunny day it got little little tiring as it's mostly outdoor experience. Meuseam was good, kids can see and understand the whole journey of statue!!

Don't by tickets online or from agents outside park /subway stations. Buy it from office ticket booth inside battery Park or statue state park in NJ unless you want to visit crown for which tickets sold out month in advance. Reserve at least 4 hrs to visit statue of liberty & Ellis island . Please do visit museum next to statue of liberty to understand significance of this historical structure. When you land on statue of liberty island, do collect audio tour which I included in ticket.

A crown tour is a must do. You need to book well in advance. I would recommend going early. The crowds are pretty fierce. She's so pretty. I didn't know she was built on a fort. She's well worth the visit as is Ellis Island.

This is an absolute life experience that you will never forget. You only need a boat ticket to access the Statue. The ferry ride was great and fun. We enjoyed the beautiful views of the Statue and of Manhattan. Seeing the Statue so close up is stunning. Here comes up memories of how we learned about it in school. And now standing here in front of this wonderful landmark is really something special. The symbol of USA. The views from Liberty Island are wonderful. I recommend to all who visit New York City, also visit Statue of Liberty and then also Ellis Island. It is really amazing and unforgettable.

Don t take the free ferry as you hardly get to see. Spend few bucks and enjoy the breathtaking view of statue and do book the tickets in advance else you won t get it especially over the weekend. There is one garden which is well maintained and one can witness amazing view of Manhattan, New York bridge. It s important to visit to put a tick mark on your bucket list.

While I love the history and exploring the documents and sites here it seems odd that the standard symbol freedom and liberty in our country has military personal with guns all around and a helicopter constantly circling above. It doesn't really scream freedom anymore. I also hate the headphones and walking tours. Seems so cold rather than having a real person as a guide that really knows there stuff and can answer questions etc

Buy your tickets online otherwise you'll wait for hours to buy one. The security check takes quite some time, the ferry is quick and provides nice views. Once you get to the island the crowds spread out so you can walk and take pictures however you like. I expected to be done with the whole thing in the morning but it's more like a whole day program especially if you take the time to listen to the audios from the audio guide and do the same in Ellis island, so plan accordingly.

Wonderful. They operate ferry between NY and NJ. 3.30 p.m is the last ferry to statue of Liberty.
$18 for a round trip to statue of Liberty and Ellie's Island. I recommend to catch the ferry one before the last one, so that you may get the chance to see day and evening view.

Liberty island is really cool, however it is usually crowded depending on when you go. You have to take a 15 minute boat ride over, get through security, and it's a bit of a hassle. But overall, it was really cool seeing the statue, the museum, and all the history behind it.

Fun experience! Bought tickets in advance, cut the wait time from 2 hrs to 1 hr. Line moved fast tho. Try to sit at the top of the ferry for the best views. The ferry s have snacks shops on board as well.

Been to NY a million times, never went until this last trip. It's The Statue of Liberty, so not much to review, but do be prepared for long ferry lines. All worth it for twenty bucks, and there are plenty of accommodations if you're hungry or need a restroom.

One checked on the bucket list and the experience was great specially for the kids. The history and architecture was really a thing of beauty. Moreover, the site got a new state of the art center where you can have an interactive experience. Overall, great place to visit in New York and include Ellis Island on your visit.

This is one of the must-visit of New York City. In history, the statue of Liberty is the first sight immigrants would see when they first arrive to the USA.
You can use city pass to get here by the boat. There are also many angles you can take pictures with the statue: from the boat, under the statue, go up to the head etc

Wonderful to be able to be so close to this iconic statue. We travelled in September. The crowds were not huge. The ferry over was half empty, but the ferry to Ellis Island was crammed full. The Ferries are very regular and the queue to board not huge. Lovely Coffee Bar to sit and observe the New York harbour.

Fabulous! Pretty as always! Long Ferry lines about 11am on Saturday.Took about 40 minutes wait. I love the places to sit & rest along the way some were shaded as well. The Statue of Liberty is more than a monument. She is a beloved friend, a living symbol of freedom to millions around the world. These exhibits are a tribute to the people who created her, to those who built and paid for her, to the ideals she represents, and to the hopes she inspires.

Would have loved to go up in the crown or torch, but the lines were insanely long. Island has fantastic view of the city skyline, and seeing a piece of history up close is awesome as well.

Very impressive monument in New York Harbour. The statue was designed by a French artist and Gustave Eiffel a French engineer who also designed the Eiffel Tower in Paris. The monument museum explains the full story of the statue; how it was built and shipped to New York. The monument offers a magnificent view of Manhathan and the harbour.

If you come to NYC this is the only spot you mustn't avoid. To tour the inside of the statue you must book the ticket advance but with a $19.25 ticket you can book a last minute trip to Liberty Island and Ellis Island (only at Castel Clinton!). Keep in mind that the last ferry from Liberty to Ellis is at 3:15pm. If you miss that you won't be able to see the Immigration museum.

This is one of the coolest things I've ever done. We were able to get tickets to climb the stairs to the crown, which are limited in number and can be quite difficult to get. It was so worth it! It was quite the workout, but we just climbed slowly and steadily, not rushing and trying to avoid getting winded. The stairs were tiny and there were little resting points of you needed. If you are able bodied, you should do this at least once in your life.

It was pretty much everything you would expect, very popular and easy to travel to. They had food on the island that was quite low quality and overpriced. The fresh lemonade that they sold in large cups was very good though, and it was very easy to get from the island to ellis island.

Initially I only wanted to take the ferry around the statue of liberty as I didn't think I'd gain much from getting off the boat. How wrong was I?
The island was super interesting and the audio tour was perfect. I learnt so much.
The Statue of liberty museum provides lots of insightful information about lady liberty's history, construction, development and meaning.

If you want to go up the crown you need to book a few months in advance as it books up we'll in advance.

I'm a Brit who has been genuinely enlightened by Lady liberty

Make sure you come here a bit early. We took the 4:00 pm boat and got to the statue of liberty in around 15-20 minutes. When we were about to walk in to go up to the statue, the security guard said it was closed already.. They should have told us that when you sell the ticket to us. Other than that, beautiful view of the statue and the New York skylines

One day outing trip.. if you plan for Ellis island and liberty as well. Try to go from New Jersey side, bcz there is lot of parking space and less crowd as well.
From NJ the boat ride is to Ellis island first and then to Liberty. When coming back from Liberty it will be straight to NJ.

I loved, definitely it is a must visit if you ever go to NY City. Even though we went on Holidays season and it was very very crowded, we did a reservation on line (which I highly recommend, because the line for those who didn't do this was a lot longer) and once at the ferry station everything is very organized, the security control is a little slow but is reasonable. Once in the Liberty Island everything is so clean and well maintained, including the restrooms. And of course the best are the Statue itself, but also the views of the city from the Island.

In September 2000 I visited this monument. In that time free ticket distributed by authority at ferry fron down town fo Manhattan from 7:00 to 10:00. Fortunately I received one. But when I reached at stairs it tokes 3 hour ro reached at crown of statue of liberty. It was a great chance and experience for me. Beautiful!!!!

Had a great time walking around this marvellous piece of sculpture. This massive structure simply takes your breath away. The view towards New York Manhattan will also AWE you. However, waiting on long queue to buy ticket, then staying on line under sun, then go through AIRPORT STYLE security check, just to again wait on line to board ferry is a bit hectic. That took us full 1 and half hours. Overall, trip to both island was worth it.

I have been here 3 times. Everytime I have a good experience. The ferry & ticketing experience is organized despite the huge crowd. The food is served really fast, although expensive tastes good. Overall I love the experience and would definitely visit this national monument again.

This is the story of America. If you re not moved when visiting Ellis Island you have no soul. Millions of immigrants came through terrified, hopeful and dreaming of a better life. The museum and the very qualified Rangers capture their experiences perfectly, they go out of their way to be helpful and take the time to explain what you're seeing. These immigrants were the building blocks of the society we have today. It's important for every person to see this and remember the obstacles and discriminations they had to overcome. It was a moving experience to say the least. A humbling lesson about humanity and humility. In this day and age, with all the debate over immigration, this is a reminder as to what makes our country great.

We had both been to see the Statue of Liberty on previous trips but decided to go again. We got the tickets that included the pedestal and we are so glad we did. We got to see inside and looked at the internal structure through the glass. There is a lift, but only holds six people so when busy there will be a wait. When going outside the views are really good but not much space, all of the selfie taking can take up quite a bit of room. Would definitely recommend for the additional few dollars.

Lady Liberty is a must for everybody and I mean everybody and that this is the land of the free.. Perhaps the Commander should revisit and read the tablet on her arms. If you go it would be wise to go from New Jersey side as there's less people than Battery Park and easy parking $7. Also Ellis Island is a must and included in the Fare $14 for seniors.. best deal around.

This was great, but book your tickets way in advance. We tried to book tickets into the pedestal nearly 2 months in advance and they were already sold out. Getting into the crown is even more difficult. In the end, if you can only get standard tickets, and its still worth it. Just book in advance, if u can

There are so many things you can do here(other than look at the actual statue). There is a listening tour where you can learn about the history of the statue. There is also a cafe with many options and a brief Starbucks menu. My family and I had a great time, and I think you will too!

Went to the statue of liberty and learned a lot. Would highly recommend to get a tour guide if you wish to learn everything about the history of how it came to be. The food is pretty expensive so don't expect to get something cheap. Cool experience going to the top floor of the statue of liberty. Try it once at least and never again.

Very historically place. You will enjoy your day if you can go there . Nice view you can enjoy fresh air and sound of the water. If you go there in summer you must try the lemonade. It will take you to the haven after driving it in hot summer.

It is a nice view of the Statue and the city. The audio guide is very detailed, the gift shop has some very nice souvenirs!

The line to board from New York, however, took a lot of time (about 1 hour) under the sun. If you buy the tickets online, it's a bit faster.

If you plan to go to the Pedestal, you should plan and buy tickets about a month before, and, to the Crown, about 3 months before!

Awesome place, very organized, food was great! Try the onion rings, is a must! Need to check the schedules for the ferry and which ferry is the one you need to take, one is for the Ellis Island and another one is for the Statue of Liberty. More

Worth a visit! I loved the audio tour which gives you a good and clear view on the history of the statue and island. It will probably be busy but when I visited (June 2019) however not annoying. Plus, the boat to the island is a nice experience!

Amazing history here. We took a ferry and went past the island and it was super cool to see in person. I've always wanted to visit and I'm so glad I did. We went in the winter so being outside was the warmest, but it was definitely still worth stopping by. Make sure when you go that you get on the right ferry and not the Staten Island ferry!

A must do! It was a rainy day when we visited but, still beautiful and fun. Book a visit to the torch 4-5 months in advance, we weren't able to go beyond the platform (176 steps). Ellis Island was also very interesting.

It is awesome! I was able to check off a bucket list item! There is so much information and the views are incredible. She is so much bigger than I expected. I definitely want to come back when it is a little warmer and get a crown ticket.

Amazing when I see it. Nice environment with sea and birds. The Museum is good with photos of visitors, the cafe is nice to eat with birds. But I was a little bit disappointed, because I like to spend time there until evening while see the light from New Jersey n New York cities, but last Cruise only pick up passengers till 5pm.
