Star Hotel Metropole Review

Switched here after a disappointing stay at another nearby hotel. We asked to see a room because we were worried it would be as bad as the last place - the only clean room they had was a deluxe one, so they gave us that for the same price. Largest room we've had (out of 7) in Europe, clean and comfortable. Breakfast is tasty and runs for a while. Lobby is beautiful. Location is convenient to the train station, about a 20 minute walk to a number of tourist destinations. Overall, would recommend

Hotel in a strategic position. Courtesy and kindness of the reception staff, very comfortable and hygienically perfect rooms, make this hotel "my home" in Rome ...

Very good 4 * hotel and very clean. The location is ideal for tourists. Small minus deluxe room had shower over bath and breakfast could be a bit more varied.

Modern hotel near Termini station but not too much. Presence restaurant with balanced menu. Clean rooms. Good value for money.

Hotel room 212 is quiet and spacious. We had three single good sized beds. The air-conditioning is perfect for the hot and humid Roman weather. The bathroom is clean and tidy (with good water pressure). The staff are friendly and helpful. The breakfast has decent selection. The location is a plus. It's close to Termini and a good walking distance to most iconic spot like the Colosseo.

Excellent hotel within walking distance from Termini. Very helpful staff, renovated and clean rooms with all comforts. There is also a small gym.

A nice hotel with a good breakfast and very close to the trainstation. The staff is friendly and the rooms are spacious.

UPDATE BELOW: First time I stayed here amazing service, nice rooms great front desk, but tonight the 2nd time staying here, got a room that the tub does not drain and the room is very hot. When I spoke to the front desk, she was very unhelpful. Maintenance will be in tomorrow...some time and open a window. So disappointing! We were really looking forward to staying here. I gave it two stars for having a bed and tv. Front desk staff was less than helpful.

UPDATE: Today we checked back in to this hotel because we are leaving through Rome and already had it booked. We booked because it was my husband's favorite hotel the first time we stayed. I appreciate the response from General Manager and I am happy to report that upon checking back in, service was excellent. Hotel held our bags during our trip to Florence and brought our bags to our room upon check in and had the room ready early for us. Maybe things were just off on our initial check in the first night, because today service and room was as we remembered from our first stay years ago. We will return next year, great hotel! Ciao. Today's review is a full 5 STARS.

I went to the hotel restaurant. The person who was in.mia company booked with the fork. I have to say that I was skeptical, but I was wrong, the service was impeccable and the sliced beef good. I advise.

About 5 minutes walk from Termini Station. The road from the station was not particularly concerned about security.

There is someone at the reception 24 hours, so late check-in and check-out are possible.
The staff could of course speak in English.

The room was clean but now the heating didn't work.
Meals are buffet style. Personally I thought it was quite delicious, but it may be a standard one for Rome.

Amenity is necessary enough. There was a pod-style dolce gusto. The smell of soap is quite good.

In centre and near Train station gives an edge to this place. Bit old now in need of changing upholstery in waiting lounges. Star hotel is a good brand to stay. Breakfast included is just sufficient not elaborate. Staff courteous. Rooms okay with good sized bathrooms.
Comfortable stay in short.

Reception is lazy. I booked a connecting family room for 3 people to use each bed. However, the room we reserved was assigned to a different room, so when we asked the reception, they said we couldn't go to the room we reserved because there are guests....? What are you talking about... And then I changed the room, but they asked if 4 people stayed at Citytax. I even checked the guest's name on the phone the day of the room change and even asked if they were three people. Even Citytax is walking around and can't calculate the bill. At the end, I look at it and don't say hello. It was the guest who was bothersome to check out the room assignment, but why...?....
The room was remodeled on the upper floor, so it was neat. The lower floor was a little old, but the scale is still so clean and spacious except for the slightly old facilities.

Good overall. For his category I would have imagined more care for the details.

Modern style. Free, fast wifi. Excellent customer service. Beautiful rooms and balconies. Breakfast consisted of normal food (scrambled eggs, beans, bacon, fruit, breads, pastries, etc.) I take a star off because there was a bit of a lack of communication between the staff, our first room had not been cleaned yet when we went in and then we were given another, better room but the gardener was still doing the plants on our balcony. Nothing huge, but not perfect either.

Among the best hotel chains ever, and it is .. ITALIAN !!. Impeccable service, courtesy at all levels, from reception to dining room staff. All rooms are of the same standard, unlike other chains where some rooms are refurbished and some are not. Spacious rooms just right and very comfortable beds. Varied breakfast. In short, a guarantee. Absolutely recommended

Nice hotel with a relaxing atmosphere. Accessible on foot from Termini station. Large rooms equipped with every comfort.

Although I do not love a lot of the hotels I have to say that this has all the credentials for a 4 star ... clean, spacious rooms and comfortable. Soundproofed despite the traffic below. Friendly and kind staff. Super breakfast. Tasteful furnishings. Convenient location for travelers and tourists because it is very close to the center, easily reached on foot. Perhaps the least pretty thing is the ramp for disabled people to access the restaurant area ... Perhaps it is out of place with the environment but certainly important and functional. Overall, a really important hotel!

Lovely hotel, very happy with the quietness at night. It s important for travelers to have good quality sleep after all the tiring sightseeing.

The hotel location is great, hotel service is average, isolation between rooms and corridor was very bad. Hotel lobby is nice.

You have to be careful when you make booking through applications like booking regarding the breakfast. I made the reservation with included breakfast but I got surprised when i checked in that it is not included!! What really upset me that the reception employee mentioned that most guests through booking had the same situation and he offered a prepared package with extra money for such situation!!!

The hotel is not of the required standard and some of its employees are treated badly

Great location, typical hotel exactly what you would expect. Breakfast was included with my booking, good selection of a variety of choices. Room is a decent size, staff was friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend.

Even though we did six nights, breakfast menu did not change. It's the worst. The manner of the servant is not good either.

Star hotel Metropol is located in the most centric area of Rome, the rooms are full of comfort and ample. The room price is right and the breakfast is magnificent. The best option in the center of Roma.l

Visited for a business meeting, the hotel is just a short walk from Termini station, which is very easy to reach on foot. A very bright hall and friendly staff welcome those who enter with professionalism and courtesy put at ease. The heated meeting room, bright and with perfect sound.

First things first DO NOT let Katerina choose your room. When I first walked in her face was filled with disgust. She certainly didn't stand behind Star Hotels brand of welcoming their clients with a smile. Even though we walked in and said "we would like to check in " she said "oh here at metropole?" as if she was shocked that a young minority couple such as us could afford this hotel.
We paid for a non smoking room as my husband has severe asthma and when we walked in our room it was filled with smoke, my husband had to pull out his puffer immediately!! She placed us in a smoking room, the complete opposite of what we paid for. We had a walking tour booked, because of his asthma flaring up due to the room, we had to cancel out tour! Great going Katerina!! Your awesome for doing that, especially being that we came back down stairs to tell you that you placed us in the wrong room and you had this vindictive smirk on your face and not even an apology was given. l don't understand why she is in the hospitality industry and she isn't hospitable. I will definitely be writing an unfavourable letter to head quarters in regards to their inconsistency of what their branding is versus who they hire as their employees. This employee ruined the branding and I will NEVER consider star hotels again, if it was based my my interaction with KATERINA.

The Mattress: In our new room (that Katerina's colleague set up for us) the mattress was very comfortable!!

Lobby: Furniture in lobby and rooms looks tired and worn.

Bathrooms in room: 10/10 very nice and clean, I loved it!

Breakfast: 5/10.. just don't eat the croissant it will scratch your throat. No omelette station either.

Nice hotel, nice people, drinks were pricey but they came with a whole bunch of food. The room was nice too.

I stay there when I have to stay in Rome for work at night. In its quality range, 4 stars s, it is half price among the most expensive and the least expensive. It has no rooms on crowded streets it is clean and I always ask if small rooms are available: I prefer them!

Our stay was ruined when we accidentally left an item of value in the room. The hotel have been wholly unhelpful in resolving this matter with very slow responses and then, when they do respond, they are offering no assistance and showing no remorse.

Clearly it is our mistake to have left the item behind, but I would hope that a hotel of this standard would be helpful in rectifying the matter and ensuring their reputation remains intact.

With so many hotels to choose from in Rome, I would recommend booking elsewhere just in case you also have something stolen.

Wonderful Hotel and Rooms

The hotel is WONDERFUL. It is perfectly located in the central area of Rome. It is only 5-10 min walk from Termini station which is the MAIN bus/train station for Rome. The rooms were wonderful. We had our family of four staying there in two adjoining rooms. The decor of the room and amenities were great. The wifi connection was strong and no complaints. Breakfast buffet was quite varied and extensive both warm and cold with decent variety of options. The service from the front desk and staff was excellent. When we checked out and were to take the train to Venice, we simply walked with our luggage to Termini station in under 10 mins.

My family loved the hotel and the rooms and everything about it and we would stay there again.

It looks like a relatively old building but it is nicely maintained and maintained. The staff members smiled and responded to the situation without making any unpleasant expressions. Even though this is a broken English. It was a very good impression.

Can not open air conditioning! The service is also fierce! TV only Italian program! No toothbrush toothpaste! Free wifi slow to die can only use 2G! After paying! It is not good for more than a thousand nights

Lack of security! A friend of mine had her purse, with documents, passport, money and cell phone, STUCK in the lobby of this hotel! The Hotel did not give any assistance! Also, refused to fire the police! It was a tremendous neglect! I will not stay at this hotel again! I do not recommend! The only plus point was the breakfast!

Starhotels Metropole is a good 4 star hotel. Standard rooms are a little on the smaller size but clean and of nice quality. It's location is ideal if you plan on using buses and trains during your stay as Termini is right around the corner. Service is courteous and professional but, in my experience, not as warm as you would find at an American hotel. Overall, I would recommend staying at Starhotels Metropole.

No relief to do, certainly what is expected of a hotel of this category.

Very easy to reach from the Termini railway station the rooms are clean and comfortable ordinate.ottima breakfast, good quality also the only flaw somewhere buffet waiter, especially in the morning for breakfast, a little 'off-putting but to compensate there are some very kind in complex a good structure.

The service is very good. The rooms are worn out but not ugly, a good overall package.

We give this hotel 3 stars for several reasons:

1) They charge for everything including water. Out of our entire 5 hotel trip this hotel included the least with our stay (nothing was included)

2) It was uncomfortably hot at all times in the lobby and rooms. Two couples traveling with us in separate rooms had women which are usually always complaining about being cold, complained about it being too hot.

3) The breakfast was fairly expensive and terrible quality. 4 other hotels on our trip had better breakfast options and two included them for free. They claim to include coffee but getting service to get coffee took 20 minutes and only got one small.

Awesome place well connected to the train station ( Termini ). All attractions are within minutes of this hotel.

High level hotel. Room ample and comfortable. Quality breakfast despite scrambled eggs catering, certainly not worthy of this great hotel. The rooms are a little sacrificed. The staff are super knowledgeable and available.
