First things first DO NOT let Katerina choose your room. When I first walked in her face was filled with disgust. She certainly didn't stand behind Star Hotels brand of welcoming their clients with a smile. Even though we walked in and said "we would like to check in " she said "oh here at metropole?" as if she was shocked that a young minority couple such as us could afford this hotel.
We paid for a non smoking room as my husband has severe asthma and when we walked in our room it was filled with smoke, my husband had to pull out his puffer immediately!! She placed us in a smoking room, the complete opposite of what we paid for. We had a walking tour booked, because of his asthma flaring up due to the room, we had to cancel out tour! Great going Katerina!! Your awesome for doing that, especially being that we came back down stairs to tell you that you placed us in the wrong room and you had this vindictive smirk on your face and not even an apology was given. l don't understand why she is in the hospitality industry and she isn't hospitable. I will definitely be writing an unfavourable letter to head quarters in regards to their inconsistency of what their branding is versus who they hire as their employees. This employee ruined the branding and I will NEVER consider star hotels again, if it was based my my interaction with KATERINA.

The Mattress: In our new room (that Katerina's colleague set up for us) the mattress was very comfortable!!

Lobby: Furniture in lobby and rooms looks tired and worn.

Bathrooms in room: 10/10 very nice and clean, I loved it!

Breakfast: 5/10.. just don't eat the croissant it will scratch your throat. No omelette station either.
