Very nice hotel. My sister and I stayed here for our first trip to Rome. Great location right by the metro, nice restaurants around. It's north of all the attractions (Colosseum, Pantheon, etc) so you have to take the metro, a taxi or walk to get to everything. Also they don't have face towels like we do here in the US. So you may want to bring your own. Otherwise very nice place to stay.

The hotel overall is very clean, comfortable and satisfying.
We had requested an early check in which was available when we arrived, something that myself and my boyfriend were very grateful for as we had a full day ahead of us. I didn't feel we got a happy welcome from any staff, even though the people on reception were willing to answer our questions on the area. I don't think I saw any of the staff smile. The room we stayed in was lovely and the decor was very modern. I did however book an executive double but I didn't quite see the benefits of paying that bit extra for an executive. But seeing as we would not be spending a lot of time in the hotel, I did not want to have to pay any extra for an upgrade. I did not see anything on Agoda that told me I would have to pay 48 euros for the city tax when I checked out, something that would have been very helpful.
The breakfast was good but not great, it depends on what you prefer to have in the morning.
On the third morning we were woken up by a fire alarm and after walking from the 7th floor we were met by no staff members. I was approached by another guest who informed me it was a false alarm. As i looked over at reception i could see the staff stood behind their computers, looking as though they don't have a care in the world.
After checking out we waiting outside for our airport mini bus to pick us up. We began to panic as it was 20 minutes late, therefore by boyfriend asked reception if they could call and check for us the the bus was coming (as our driver didn't speak much english). The staff member he had spoken to told him to wait as they were sure it will eventually turn up. I did not see why it was such a big ask for the staff to make a quick phone call to make sure if the driver was just late. I am a receptionist at a hotel myself and we have many large groups stay with us who have scheduled transport, and i would never tell them to just wait for the car to eventually turn up. The hotel is great but the staff certainly create a not so nice atmosphere.

Nice hotel, well situated with lovely rooms which are well kept but breakfast was a bit of a let down, compared with other buffets in similar starred hotels around Europe and some staff could be a little friendlier.

Asked why I was sent an email reflecting a charge of $24.00 for logging on to their free WiFi on October 7th 2018 at 6:30 am
After several less than pleasant (condending) responses to my questions the front desk clerk said find someone else it is time for my shift change.
Room was clean

The Metropole is a nice looking hotel in a decent neighborhood. The decor is nice and they serve a good breakfast. Unfortunately the air conditioning in the rooms is terrible. It's more of a fan than true air conditioning. The air is barely cooler than the room. Twice we had maintenance check it out. They play with the settings but nothing changes. Our stay was in June. Temps during the day were upper '70's. We'd leave the air on all day with the drapes closed, yet our room was still hot. We sweat like pigs every night. I can't imagine how bad it must be in August. We won't stay there again.

I stayed for 5 days and 4 nights from August 17 to 21, 2019. It was close to Termini Station and close to the Cathedral of Santa Maria Maggiore, so it was good for sightseeing, it was not dangerous to go at night, and the breakfast was delicious.
I can eat it from 6:30 in the morning, so it was nice to eat early and travel.
The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was clean.
The air conditioner was neither cold nor hot, and the temperature was adequate, and I left my luggage on the last day.
Good If I go to Rome again
I use it again.

Hotel was lovely - modern, clean, centrally located. Toiletries were refreshed every day. Getting to the rooms was easy as you could either take the lift or the accessible staircase by the lifts. Wifi generally worked well. The staff were pleasant, friendly and efficient for the most part.

Things this hotel could improve on - (1) there were only 2 English language TV stations and these only showed business news. It would have been nice to have an entertainment station available as well. (2) Breakfast was OK. However, it was the same every day and whilst there was a decent selection I think it should be better in a 4* hotel. For example, there was no juice (fresh or concentrate) just a form of squash. (3) Staff were mostly great but I did have one poor experience with the doorman on duty in the early morning of Friday 6. He ignored me as I looked for a cab, got irritated when someone else tried to help me and then tried to direct me to the wrong cab. I was travelling alone, felt vulnerable and expected to be treated better at the hotel I was calling home for a few days. Still that was my only bad experience with the staff including the other doormen.

I stayed the hotel 4nights with my son a few days ago. On the third evening, suddenly one man opened the door of my room without pressing the bell. I was very embarrassed and shouted, and he ran away.
I complained it to the front desk. One person on the desk said that one staff visited due to technical problems and he didn't know the room was occupied.
I complained strongly how this happened in the hotel. The person on the front desk told me that the staff could make a mistake as a human being and all human being can make a mistake.
Just to understand humanly...
Without apologizing, the hotel told me to understand it as natural.
I believe it s not natural. The security and privacy should be secured. But it was not. My son and I got afraid and nervous during the rest of the stay, without getting any word of apologie.

Great location (near Termini) but in a quiet place, because in an internal street. Very well maintained, large common areas and large rooms. Despite being a modern hotel, it is not impersonal, on the contrary: the renovation has added a touch of personality. Excellent intercontinental breakfast: taste the perfumed waters (candle and orange and lemon, divine!) Having been there for a congress I can't say the prices as they are ... look on the site!

Hotel located a short walk from Termini Station. Totally renovated with classic / modern furnishings. Cleaning and services are up to the task. Good general meals: excellent continental style breakfast in the morning. Good dishes proposed for lunch. Discretionary buffets for conference services. Obviously prices corresponding to the location. To recommend.

I also liked the breakfast and the room.
When I walk around a little, there are some shops that I would like to go to for lunch or dinner.
We felt that convenience was high when we bought sim in cell-phone shop without feeling so far from station. There was a PC that could be used for free in the lobby, and I could print tickets.
