We had a good time. we had the bang bang shrimp. and i had the gumbo soup. it was good.i had the lobster tail and steak. it was good my wife had the rum bucket drink awesome. fried shrimp. they were out of potatos she had sweet potato fries.. all good. all in all we had good time.

Service was super slow. The food was good but a bit pricey for the quality. The view is awesome! Live music was great!!

Cyndi was excellent, her wonderful attitude and timely service was spot-on. We enjoyed the food and atmosphere as well. After a long trip from Michigan (driving) this turned out to be an excellent choice. I'd recommend this restaurant to anyone who favors seafood. Thanks again for wonderful the service and experience, Cyndi!

Extremely bad experience, we waited over 2 hours for our food. The manager on duty finally made her way to our table to try and explain our long wait for our food. We never received our food, the table next to us walked out

If I am wrong, you can get it anywhere. That being said, the calamari was the worst I have ever had. I would not eat more after the first bite. I love great calamari, but will still eat OK calamari. I rate theirs as inedible. They were out of so many items....broccoli, what!, broccoli! There is no excuse to be out of so many items, though they had one or two. Weak. This is more of a restaurant for the older crowd. Reminded me of Patio Grill...on the River. Maybe they should change the name. With so many places to eat in Sanford, skip this one until they get it together.

Unfortunately I've had too many bad experiences there. It has great potential and location and occasionally great food as well. The service is almost always bad however and every time I've visited they are out of something that I order. I think the final straw for me was on my last birthday. My husband even called ahead of time to arrange something special for me. It didn't help...

Good service and food. A bit over priced but a nice view on the patio.

I don't understand the poor reviews for this restaurant. My husband and I were there last Sunday and again today (Friday). Both days we started with the crab, spinach and artichoke dip which came with homemade chips and was awesome. On Sunday my husband had the ahi tuna which he said was perfect and I had the blackened chicken sandwich. Both came with homemade fries. There was live music on Sunday so we moved to the outside tables and stayed a couple of extra hours. On Friday my husband had the fish and chips and I had the blackened mahi tacos. Again, both were awesome. On our way out we stopped and complimented the manager on our waitress and the food. He gave us gumbo and bacon potato chowder to go. My husband had the bacon potato chowder as an appetizer and raved about it. The head chef also stopped by to see how we liked our food. Anyone in Sanford needs to check out this restaurant!! I would not call this restaurant great - I would call it amazing and fantastic - far from average.

The best place for ROMANCE STEAK AND SEAFOOD. take a walk on the Lake Monroe. This place is improperly named but that's OK. It does technically feed into the St Johns River. Love the atmosphete, quaintness and very subdued classy setting. Terrific food! !

Food was FANTASTIC!!!! They ALSO were kind enough to bring my dog his OWN bowl of water!!!

Wow..what a view. Food was great staff very professional. The place was not crowded so we had a great lakefront table. Our food was good, salad was a disappointed, but overall nice waitress, and shrimp pooboy made up for it.

A Sunday afternoon total disaster..no 10 oz. Sirloin which was priced right..at a Seafood, Steakhouse Restaurant...
Porterhouse yes, wanted Med. pink and Juicy but was delivered and prepared one way, WELL to BURNT..after a 45 min. wait..nxt..crabcakes (2) with shells..chipped a tooth..no kidding..Manager full of EXCUSES..yes I was livid...comp'ed meals..invited back..Are you kidding ???? 1 Star for location.. I was happy to get out of there with my shirt.
PS..I don't think they will be inviting me back. .

Went here with my mother on the 4th of July when we had a hard time finding a restaurant by the lake. Service here was excellent, especially by the owner (who was very helpful in finding us a parking spot)!

When we walked in, they almost acted like they did not see us. It took a while for them to greet us. When they did great us, we were told that all the tables on the deck were full or reserved. When we asked about the other tables on the inside, that had a view, we were told that they were reserved as well. The whole time we were there, no one sat at those tables that we asked about. For an appetizer we had clam strips and it was the best part of the meal. We both had fish and chips. After serving us they almost completely ignored us, they refilled my husbands cup once but other then that you did not check up on us or refill my drink at all, they were only 1/3 full and had at least 4 waitresses. We felt like we were getting the cold shoulder the whole time. I found what appeared to be a piece of plastic in the breading of my fish, and I lost my appetite. When I said something to the server she insisted that it was a fish bone. It was very thin and almost completely see-through, so what ever. She did not offer to fix anything. They had nascar on the TV there which I do not caer about, but as soon as an African American family walked in, they rushed over to change the TV to basketball.

Great waterfront restaurant, try the Key West comb for some good "eats".

My husband and I were there last week and we're going back tonight! On our first visit we both had the fried shrimp dinner. Delicious! Tonight we're bringing some friends with us because we told them how much we enjoyed the food, the entertainment and the casual atmosphere.

We waited a super long time just for lunch on a Sunday. Was starting to get annoyed when we got brought in. Had one of THE BEST STEAKS of my 19 year old life. 10oz sirloin cooked medium with a side of Mac and cheese and a loaded baked potato. This place might be slow to serve due to covid guidelines but their food is just absolutely perfect!!!

The crab cakes suck and the oysters are too bready.

Hot inside! Took forever for a server to come to our table. We decided to go somewhere else.

Great place to meet and catch up with friends. The place has a nice feel to it.

went from 5 stars to 0... last two times they have had the worst service at the bar. it's like they don't want to make money.

The food was ok.But the Blond lady at the register was very rude.Made a nasty remark about us not opening the door for my brother n law..I heard her and she passed me off..

If you get stuck in a bad situation (jury duty), make sure to stop in here afterwards to liven your spirits.

Always a great meal. Shrimp and grits are the best ever. Generous portions.

A hidden gem with great views but even better steak!
09/01/18 I've been here 3 times since my last review & my review hasn't changed. I suggest reservations at peak times. This is not a place for a quick bite. There is a nice bar here too. I haven't eaten any seafood due to a food allergy but the 3 other couples we've brought there say it's good seafood. Absolutely nothing bad to say about this place. The staff works very hard to make things perfect for you. But the food is definitely the star attraction!

This is a very good place to stop by and eat they have wonderful seafood offerings and the guest service was very polite also the owner is a very cool guy and won't hesitate to stop by and ask how is the food we have my mom's birthday there and we had a wonderful time

The St. Johns Burger was delicious, it had a very savory taste, and the french fries are one of a kind, the shrimp in the burger also added a zing to the taste. I'd go here again with friends and family.

Moderate quality food at a moderate price. Location is outstanding if it is good weather to sit outside. Drink prices are fair and they have a generous pour. I'd suggest peel and eat shrimp with the drink of your choice.

So disappointing spinach dip was nothing but spinach dry chunky wait was long grouper was dry and fishy broccoli was so hard you couldn't cut it the fries were amazing calamari was under cooked the frog legs fell outta the batter were slimy wont drive an hour over again and our tab was 200 bucks with tip so not that we are cheap

Nice little place by the Sanford Marina. They have food and drinks and my favorite rum bucket drink . A nice place to go when you are by the water.

Though the restaurant needs to be refurbished (most do in DT Sanford) the food was really good and the location is really nice! Would have liked a better beer selection, but I doubt their usual customers would appreciate it there.

Food was so tasty. I had a cousin come into town and she asked me to go back here. Feels like a place in Los Angeles I liked.

Food top of the line, staff excellent. Entertainment was top notch. He knew his instruments well.

We enjoyed ourselves. The service was spot on and food excellent with a pleasant atmosphere. The cajun base of many of the dishes is superb. Be careful though...it's easy to eat waaaaay to much.

Love the real baked potatoes not the microwave regurgitation most places do. Everytime been here staff is great and very accomidating. Nickie was very attentive and got answers to questions quickly.

Our waitress was super sweet and wonderful. Food was good as well, however only four stars because they kept bringing out our dishes wrong. Will probably be back however.

Stopped by here for lunch and had the gumbo and the fried fish sandwich. Both were perfect. The gumbo tasted just like the homemade gumbo I've had in New Orleans. Will definitely return.

Had a yummy blackened Mahi with shrimp creole. The picture speaks for itself!

It's a fantastic location with a wonderful view of Lake Monroe. The food was adequate but nothing more. I really wanted it to be superb because the location was so great. I will try it again when there is not a Hurricane on the way.

I have been to a lot of restaurants but this place had the worse service and the toughest steak I have ever ate will not ever go back plus they were out of most of the items on the menu just take ur money some were else and get better food!!!

Cocktail to finish coffee fabulous! Appetizers of mussels, peel & eat shrimp, and sesame encrusted blue fin tuna fresh and tasty. Fish tacos, Asian shrimp salad, and filet with blacked shrimp very good. No dessert, pleasantly full. Coffee with Irish cream finish

Best combination of Great tasting food, pleasant service, wonderful view of Lake Monroe & St. Johns River only place where the sun meets the water, spectacular sunset.

Great place in the water for seafood. The lake is beautiful and the food is outstanding. The staff is very efficient and sweet.

This place is amazing! I could easily eat here all week and on my next business trip that's exactly what I plan to do. Superb food comparable to any five star restaurant at very reasonable prices. You can dine while looking over Lake Monroe.

Wow..wow..wow... came across your restaurant on a day trip from Ocala , Emily my server was outstanding very attentive. The whole staff was great I didn't know they had a limited brunch menu on Sundays but Emily and the chefs made my dining experience a very nice one great team work . The views are amazing I will Definitely be back and bring friends !

The first week of April we decided to try this restaurant. I seldom write reviews but decided to this time because this was not a pleasant experience at all! We were a party of 4 and all agreed, we will not be going back to this restaurant! Food was "average at best" and some portions of our meals were not even average. No one in our party of four were happy with their meals! Two of us had the seafood platter and the crab cakes were right up there with the "worst" we have ever had, mushy consistency (probably 85% filler and 10-15% crab meat) and almost not edible! I did not eat mine! The remainder of the meals also had issues but I think you get the picture! Service was average and attitudes were not pleasant! Sorry, nothing good about this place except maybe location and the outside porch!

Had the seafood platter. Grouper was great, shrimp and crabcake were ok, but the scallops were Bay scallops and very small.

From the onset great experience. Pam, the waitress was lovely. Her personality, and charming manner was so nice and refreshing. The food was great, had the blackened crab cakes no need for cocktail sauce and the sweet potato fries ...excellent. My dinner partners were also happy with their experience.

It was al fresco dining on a screened porch overlooking lake Monroe. Found and service were excellent. I recently flinging this place have have eaten there several times already.

Not going to lie I've been here plenty of times, food was great as well as the service. This will be the last time, bad service/ manager/ even GM. Got there at 7:15, didn't leave until 9:30. Food was raw and server / manager insisted everything was fine when we repeatedly said it wasn't. No sorries or attention to our table.

We always enjoy the food and the service. Tonight's meal met expectations.

Head chef was not on the skillets tonight so it was a back-up chef and it was certainly noticeable...sub-par loaded mash potatoes were under-seasoned while the dried out baby back ribs were disguised behind a sweet glaze that bordered candy...the crab cake however was a delight and the hush puppies were also memorable...beware that an automatic 18% gratuity is added to parties of six or more...since the majority of my party did not care for the food along with minimalistic customer service I personally will not be returning...as a side note the place was completely empty

We sat outside in the screened in area. The server was nice. The food was good. Excellent views of the waterfront.
