LOVED the staff at the front desk. Every one of the ladies was so kind and nice. We made friends quickly. They greeted my girlfriend with so much kindness and sent us a very, very nice complementary treat. I would choose this property any day. I've been going there for 20 years and they NEVER disappoint. They bartenders were also super cool and fun. The valets treated us so kindly. I LOVE this property. One of the best in the SPG/Marriott portfolio!!!!! 6 STARS.

Excellent hotel with amenities. Bottled water is available anytime. The staff was courteous and super helpful in directing us to appropriate transportation options. It was a great experience and a place I would recommend and stay in again.

Room: Tower king, limited view; room was fairly comfortable & bed was good Dining: I haven't had an opportunity to try any hotel dining services Internet: got fairly consistent 20Mbps up & down with premium service The hotel made a good effort to keep guests informed during the extended power outage on April 21st and stationed employees throughout the hotel with flashlights to assist and answer questions. Eliminating bottled water is a great idea in theory, but following the power outage, water was unusable for many hours... Initially an awful brown color, then a yellowish tinge with visible particulates. Finally, elevator system is unique but confusing. Guests must select their floor and swipe their room key and an elevator is selected...There is no option to choose a floor once on the elevator.

We always expect the Westin to be immaculate - not this one. Our sheets were stained - gross. Now granted there was that huge strike a month before. But this was probably the dirtiest of all Weston's. The location is wonderful, lots of sites to walk to and explore by foot or hop on a trolley. Lots of dining choices close by. Also the staff were very friendly and helpful. Hoping they spend more time cleaning after the strike.

The hotel is well decorated and appear to be a lot more upscale than typical Westins. Definitely different than the standard Westin decor with a classic feel. Service did suffer due to the strikes happening, especially the breakfast offering. I could see it be a much better experience once it's fully staffed. Platinum recognition wasn't a problem.

Classic traditional hotel with modern rooms in the Tower side of the hotel. True hotel culture feel with lots happening in the lobby. Oak room restaurant is good and lobby bar has a cool vibe and talented bar tenders. You can really spend a lot of time inside the hotel and not feel like you're bored to death. I'm giving it a 4 because it doesn't have a Spa or steam room/sauna.

I enjoyed the location of the hotel but there are so many entrances/exits that it people working there don t know if you re a guest or just someone walking through so they are not friendly and don t talk to guests. I also left my poster at the hotel room and called after 15 mins of leaving. I didn t get a call back from security until 2 weeks later telling me that they don t have it. No duh. Recommendation: don t leave things behind cuz they won t return it. I ll probably stay at another Westin or hotel in San Francisco

I stayed here during a strike in October 2018 for a medical conference. It s often in times of crisis where you can distinguish the great hotels from mediocre ones. This Westin failed miserably during the strike. Look, I understand it s a tough situation for everyone and I was more than patient and gracious despite the long lines because I knew that they were short staffed. The areas that impacted the guests during the strike:
1. No housekeeping services
2. Food and beverage options were very limited in scope and hours and no room service
3. Long lines everywhere due to short staff
4. Contractors brought in (understandably) are not very well oriented
5. Common areas (lobbies, gym) are not as well kept

The major issue I had was the arrogance of the management during this difficult time. Their idea of compensation was 500 points per night, the same that you would get for opting in for their Green Choice program. When discussing some of the above suggestions and asking for a more equitable compensation, the evening front desk manager was downright rude and disrespectful. While I disagreed with him, I was calm and composed, but he just lost it and said I am done answering questions if you can t understand. Maybe he was upset that I called out his lie when he explained the strike was unexpected. Yet I noted that they already had professionally pre-made signs/posters and brought in contractors the morning of the strike. Nobody appreciates being lied to. This level of disrespect and contempt for guests is uncalled for and unwarranted. I empathized with him that the work conditions are challenging but it was not the guest s fault either that the strike is happening, and it is not appropriate to take it out on a guest.

I actually really liked this hotel, yes it has an old era Art Deco look but I think that gives it character. The rooms are clean and cosey and the beds are very comfy. The Westin are famed for their super comfort beds. Netflix access on TV which is good. The downside is the food is little to be desired. The room service menu is unimaginative and not particularly well done. The buffet breakfast is a total let down, they need to get some tips from their KL establishment who have this nailed. The shower has little water pressure which encourages you to have quick showers as it gets cold!
The piano bar is nice tho with great service and the hotel itself is in a great location in union square. For the price bracket I think Westin is one of the best choices for the location.

Here for a conference, so a little different experience than the usual. Service is very good, all the employees I've interacted with have been very professional and polite. Location is amazing as well, right on Union square.

This is one of my favorite hotels in San Francisco. I always have family stay there for two main reasons. 1. The rooms are nice and clean. 2 the location gives a good tourist experience is SF.

Parking is $77 per night!!!

Great location, minus a star because the parking is ridiculously expensive even for a hote and doesn't show on estimated costs until you booked and drive up to park.

There is parking across the street and is $45 but without in and out priviledges.

They sold to Marriot and now it sucks. Used to like it. Now never again. Michael Mina restaurant gone. Service bad. Mini bar half empty. Like a half rate hotel. So sad. Used to be great. Bummer. The great customer service is gone.

Great workout room (they have peloton bikes) and the beds live up to their expectations. Front desk service was extremely slow (20 minutes in line behind 2 others at 8:45pm on a Tuesday), didnt tell me I was in the other tower so I went to the wrong tower thus wrong floor, and to top it off the shampoo and conditioner was not replaced from the previous guest so only a little shampoo and no conditioner for me. I question what they cleaned in the bathroom as there was a bandaid and tissue underneath the sink. Very disappointed not what I expected from the Westin.

This is a fabulous hotel right in Union Square. Stephanie at the front desk was so nice and welcoming when we arrived, she made us feel right at home. The rooms are nicely decorated and the bed is super comfortable. We'll definitely be back!

Beautiful historic hotel in a good location. The Westin heavanly beds are awesome but the hotel walls are thin so you can hear other guests in the rooms next to you. You can also hear the cleaning staff in the halls early in the morning
