Enjoyed my 2 night stay with my husband and 2 daughters. We had 2 rooms. Very clean which is vital to me. The lobby is lovely and the entire hotel smells wonderful. We were attending Bruin day at Ucla so did not spend much time in the hotel. We had room service one morning and we enjoyed that. A couple of problems to lower my rating. Elevators weren't working right. Only one was working the first night and morning. Makes for a lot of waiting around when you need to be somewhere. Also, Peet's was not operating properly. They could not take cash and needed to charge a banana and hot tea to my room. There is a Starbucks right outside but I was short on time. All in all I would recommend this Omni. It's lovely.

I booked a high-level king bed suite, was given a high-level twin bed suite, asked to move to a king room like my reservation stated and was moved to a low-level king room. Paid full price for a much cheaper room. Internet is not included with the room, so I paid the $12 per day for "20 mbps" and couldnt even load a youtube video at 720p; I used a speed tester and the results came back as 6.78 mbps upload and 2.16 mbps download. I had a two-night stay--I left after one night. Better rooms, better connection, better customer care at Best Westerns.

This hotel is an historic jewel in San Francisco. I loved the details and I could feel the vibe of the golden years. I'm greatly impressed with the building. Nice staff and great food. I attend a conference here

The Westin St Francis in San Francisco is great! It's located near everything you could want to visit...shopping, culture, tourost attractions, etc. The room I sayed in was very elegant but simple. It had very tall celings, a great bathroom and closet size and was very clean (I was in the historical society of the hotel). The service was phenomenal! The staff are hospitable, welcoming, and helpful.

Great location right next to union square and seems like a historical building. A little disorganized initially in terms of logistics for the room and need to call services for fridge or other amneties but overall service is good the staff is very friendly and helpful too! I would definitely come back.

Human hairs on cups. Only decaf coffee (and not designed to fit the coffee maker provided). Otherwise not bad for a $50 room (I'm sure it was many times this cost but I didn't have to pay and it certainly isn't worth more than this). At least at a La Quinta or Super 8 or Best Western you get a continental breakfast. No refrigerator or microwave but the steam iron worked well. TV looked okay and there are USB charging ports but I didn't use either.

The rooms are very nice, and the view is solid for a hotel in the middle of a congested city block. The lobby (men's) bathroom could use some more upkeep though, but I have no complaints about my stay. Though, my room didn't have plugs near the bed (all near the TV or on the desk) so it was mildly inconvenient in that way.

Great hotel in a great location. Due to Covid there were almost no services and most of the restaurants around the hotel closed as well.

Room was clean, big and had an amazing view of downtown and union square. Plus, the hotel has so much history and it was fun to walk around and read the historical markers.

Beautifully restored historic hotel with a lot of architectural callback to early 1900s. Only breakfast and lunch dining options, but plenty places nearby to eat. Try to get a room overlooking Union Square, view is fantastic. Little to no problem with vagrants, and the grounds are well maintained.

The room is great; 29th floor of the tower! However, we only got these great rooms after my parents had to spend a night in a room where there was literally a hole in the bathroom wall that squirted out water whenever you flushed the toilet. Super gross. I believe the front desk attendants didn't fully respect my mother's multiple assertions that this was an actual plumbing problem since they sent a facilities guy up with a plunger to fix it. The hotel FULLY COMP'ED that night and upgraded the rooms for the rest of the trip, but it's still a black eye that should have been remedied after the first complaint was reported.

Great hotel on Union Square. Many, many shops close by. The hotel is a little dated. The staff could be more friendly. Check in is painful, especially at peak times. The valet guys drive you car like they competing in a race. The Guest Relationship Manager, Michelle Dang, is awesome!!! The Muni stop is right outside the hotel. Instead of taking an ride share/taxi, try walk around.

Sept 2014 - Prime location but an old hotel with no amenities! They do not even provide toothbrush! Lots of flies at all entrances of the hotel. For the price of a night's stay, I'd expect better cleanliness. TIP: There are two entrances so make sure you inform your driver exactly where to pick you up.

The hotel is very nice, old but quite well preserved. It has a lot of character; I found everything as it should be, friendly, clean but the only negative is that there is no internet access in the rooms. For the time we are in that is essential, but from then on everything wonderfully, we will return without a doubt and hope that the Wi-Fi policies in the hotel change.

A business friendly and family friendly property. Well situated near food and hopping, albeit a more touristy district. FiDi is walkable and you are halfway up the hill which helps with the walk home. The amenities are OK, gym on property, services are what you expect from a Westin. Try and get a renovated room, makes a big difference, and do not count on a view, there are MANY internal facing rooms.

We came as a group of 1600 people, planned over a year in advance. Rooms weren't ready upon a 3pm arrival. Our assigned room still wasn't available at 5:30. We asked the front desk what options we had, at that point they gave the option of the other tower. The man at the key counter was extremely rude. When I asked if this is a usual thing to happen (not have rooms ready), he asked if I knew how long it takes to clean 2000 rooms and that they often don't have people's rooms clean at their check in time. If you want a place to actually stay try another hotel.

This is my second time staying here and I love this hotel. Just to start things off, it's in a great location...right next to Union Square. The lobby is large, upscale, and very welcoming. And the room sizes are good with great decor. I particularly always enjoy the beds at Westin...very comfortable! 5 stars well earned.

Conference facilities were exceptional, staff was friendly and helpful and location was ideal for those wishing to have comforts of shopping nearby. Room was located within the historic side of the hotel so walls were quite thin and retrofitting of electricity and modern amenities were a sore sight along with the size of room (aprox. 250 sq. ft total) was less than comfortable but cozy nonetheless. Overall I would stay at the Westin St. Francis again I don't know if I would go out of my way to secure a reservation at this particular location.

The employees are on strike right now. The rooms are not clean. There are no maids to clean the room during the day. The restaurant is not open. The bar has limited hours. But, hey, they'll give you free bottled water at the front desk . Check to see if strike is resolved before staying here. Otherwise, do not stay at a Westin hotel in San Francisco.

Take a hard pass on this hotel. It s not worth your money!! You ll get better service at a residence inn . No joke.

I have stayed at SPG and Marriotts for over a third of my year and am a platinum member. I have stayed at the St Francis for a month now at over 300$/ night and I can t buy a room cleaning even after going to the front desk and requesting it to be cleaned. It took me 2.5 weeks, a formal SPG complaint and emails to get my sheets changed and room dusted (since it wasn t when I first arrived). Today, after a whole week of not asking for a cleaning, I asked for a cleaning. Guess what? They didn t do it!! Of course. So I just finished replacing my own supplies after going to the front desk and asking for my trash to be emptied and for some toilet paper !!!

Also, it s the loudest hotel you ll ever stay in, they incorrectly charged my card, there is always a line at the desk and the front desk staff is really hit or miss in terms of attitude.

The hotel likes to give the excuse that it s because the strike is happening (which adds to the noise). But last year when I stayed here for 3 weeks, I had the same issue with the housekeeping never coming. Then my water turned poop brown and I was forced to move rooms 2 weeks in. Word to the wise dont drink water from the tap at this hotel.

Oh and just a heads up, their elevators also don t have up to date inspections. The expired inspection notice is printed and posted in the elevator. Ack.

All in all, a horrible hotel. I ll never stay here again and will be sure to tell all my colleagues (who come for 3 months at a time) not to either.

I m giving it a 2 star because at least the people serving at the overpriced cafe (think $7 for a drip coffee) are nice.

My room was musty smelling, the carpet was filthy, wallpaper peeling. Apparently I wasn't in a newly renovated room. Really disappointed with the quality of my accommodations especially in what is considered a luxury, iconic hotel in the heart of Union Square.

This is one of the best hotel I have ever stayed .. business Traveller or tourist ..they are the best ..only problem is the staff on desk .. bit rude and not that friendly like Asian hotels.. overall good experience

Great amenities (bar room, restaurant, gym). Food is fantastic. The basic, two bed room I started in was definitely clean, though there was nothing special about it. The renovated North tower is AMAZING. They need to renovate the South one as well. Location is also very good, centralized and easy to access.

Beautiful building with nice rooms and reasonably priced. My only complaint is that the mini fridge is in a cabinet under the TV so it's very warm in there and the fridge doesn't get that cold.

The St Francis was a childhood memory come back to life. It had been 50 years since my father had taken me to San Francisco, to stay at the iconic St Francis hotel. I still have a beautiful piece porcelain my father bought my mother downstairs. Everywhere I turned, was another reminder. The clock, the elevators, the wonderful art and stories. The hotel is a dream come true.

Overall a really great experience. Rooms were really nice and offer great views of the city. Great centrally located hotel with really amazing service. Our bellhop while checking out was so helpful and friendly, offering to look through our room if we missed anything and was really fun to chat with. We were all pleasantly surprised with our time there!
