Great venue to see a band. Standing room only but all good
Cool venue and very friendly staff. Will definitely return!
The upstairs bathroom, bar and VIP balcony was very nice.
The atmosphere is awesome, they have a great sound system. The concert we saw was AMAZING!
Saw some awesome bands. The one way streets around the area are a little annoying to navigate.
Nice intimate setting to see some of your favorite artist
Great place for a show. Plenty of parking near the venue. Got to see The Native Howl in action and was surprised the opening band A Year in New York put on such a good show. Will definitely look for upcoming shows to attend.
Been here couple times for Yellowcard and another band.
I like the set up and feel of the place.
Definitely makes the experience more interesting
Beautiful space! Just gorgeous. But why the long line??
EVERY concert I have been to here was... Amazing. I love a small venue concert. You are just so connected to the artist performing, even if you're like me and just hang out on the periphery. Good bar selection and nice beer on tap at the last show I went to.
It's a great venue and has a lot of Detroit history. So many music legends have performed here.
Saw one of the best shows I've ever seen (VNV) here last night. Sound system was good, lights were great., staff was phenomenal at the bar. Fantastic place to see a show!
We have gone to several concerts here and I love the small venue shows.
Perfect venue. Something about the smaller places allows for a more intimate experience with the artist, makes the experience that much more enjoyable. Also, immaculate bathrooms.
Cozy concert venue, great for mid-sized concerts that gives an intimate feeling.
We have a Blast every time we go... Love the way this place is set up...
First time here and really enjoyed it. Staff was great
Great little venue with with an interesting interior.
Amazing Venue. Super close parking. Saw Swells, Blackillac and Missio and it was so awesome. Got to be close to the stage and everything. I'll definitely go see a show there again. :)
The place is small, but the acoustics are decent. Nice bars and food. Can't find anything to complain about.
Went to a concert their and whoever was in charge of sound mixing needs to be replaced. The mix was way off and throughout the concert microphones kept pitching out. The lighting was only marginally better with the light tech missing multiple cues from the band to turn off the blinders as well as other lighting errors.
The band was great but the experience was ruined by the absolute joke of a tech team.
Phenomenal staff!! Every staffer we interacted with was friendly and helpful. The building itself is gorgeous and full of character. The event was horrible. It was definitely oversold and packed beyond capacity, making for a miserable experience. It's probably a great place to go have a drink, but I do not recommend attending a show.
Nice place for venue. It's a bit uncomfortable to sit upstairs b/c you're not facing the band. Easy to find and parking at Greektown makes it a easy, free transportation spot.
It pays to pay for seating at the top. It's a really cool venue.
The acoustics are great and the price is right. My only complaint is there isn't more places to sit if you need a break from jumping around dancing.
Love this venue! Small but mighty! The acoustics are great for such a small place!
The Shelter is a great intimate venue with good acoustics. My husband and I went there with our 3 sons and 4 of their friends, 3 under 18. Everyone was super cool, from the patrons to the staff to the bands! Otherwise and Shamans Harvest were awesome and very interactive with the crowd. It had the feel of a band showing up for a block party! Will definitely be back!
Saw Company of Theives in the Shelter. Pretty good sound and bartender was great. Bathroom was well maintained.
very upset called them 4 times at 3pm they kept sending me to voicemail tried getting Graham tickets
This is an awesome place to see a concert except main floor is standing room only but they do have a section to the right of the stage for handicapped with seats that's perfect view of the stage you wanna get there early and be downstairs at the shelter when they let people in and get to the right of the stage behind the metal gates. Theres parking right next the the building but its $15 bucks .
Hosted The MIDDLECOTT SKETCH BATTLE EXPERIMENT great venue wonderful staff beautiful and enriched with Detroit History
St andrews is 10/10 but the shelter is in the same building in its basement
Awesome venue. Sound quality is great and the staff are very helpful.
2nd time at St Andrews for me. This was a super special event: Ultimate 80s Dance Party Featuring Tiffany. The Square Pegz played an absolutely fantastic range of 80s music that was literally the soundtrack of my youth! Tiffany was AMAZING! I had been a huge fan, singing along with her blaring from the tape deck of my boom box as a teen and seeing her live was truly a dream come true! All the staff at St Andrews were helpful, super friendly and welcoming. This is a great intimate venue to see some extremely talented musicians
I went to see Noah Cyrus at SAH and was surprised to find that the venue was very small. There certainly isn't a bad seat (seats only in balcony) in the place and is a wonderfully intimate hall to see your favorite singer. The bar was well managed that the restroom facility was tidy. I would certainly go back again.
I love I love Saint Andrews Hall the best small, Big venue place in Detroit.
Went there for the first time recently and loved it! Reminds me of some of the venues out in Denver! 10/10
The staff were friendly. They helped my find phone. Luckily some brought it to the bar!
Excellent concert venue for local and out of state bands of all genres.
I have had so many great experiences here .It has been years since the last time i have been here but it felt like yesterday it was great.
The staff was very kind and accommodating! I had a blast watching my favorite artists!
Great sound, quaint place, intimate show experience
In the almost 30 years I've been going to shows I've always thought Saint Andrews was one of the best venues
Bought tics for Walker Hayes for 8:30 show. Got there 45 minutes ahead and had to stand out in the cold didn t even let us in until after 830, then found out that even the warm-up band would not start until 930 and Walker would not start playing until 1030. This is crazy!
Rather small venue but there was virtually no wait time to get in and my friends and I had a great time. Some drinks were a bit pricey. Make sure to bring a couple extra bucks, however the friendly and knowledgeable bar staff made it worth it.
I have not been to Saint Andrews in 15 years prior to seeing imposters in effect in February. Compared to 15 years ago, the place has performed a 180 in quality and service. I always had a beer oh, never had to wait for 1, and the bathrooms were very clean and acceptable. Security cap the riffraff out.
Excellent venue. They finally fixed the air conditioning. Hope you like standing for a show
Love this venue. Small and intimate not too big. I really love that there is the Shelter in the basement. That's one of my favorite places ever to see up and comers! 2 venues in one and both are great. And they sell Michigan craft beer too!
Just saw Delta Rae in The Shelter and it was incredible! The BEST part about the visit were the policies the bouncers have. Asking everyone to please drink water so no one got dehydrated, and let everyone know about the policy they have with using phone flashlights to indicate to the bouncers if someone is feeling unsafe, anxious, or needs help is something I've never heard bounce staff do before and it was VERY appreciated. Thank you for caring for your patrons!
Friendly welcoming staff in the best small venue :)
This venue is awesome! The setting provides an atmosphere of closeness with the performer. Additionally, there was a good variety of local beers which is always a plus.
