I've been working at FGF Brands since July 2017, in my experience so far working here has been great. Good company & people, very clean, safe & positive environment. FGF Brands has lots to offer, competive wages & benefits, compared to alot of companies I have worked for in the past, I would recommend anyone to come work here.

Their HR teams should be fair in their dealings. They think they are captain of star trek or something. This company is a union in a non-union environment. HR is clueless when it comes to production workers. Owners should intervene soon otherwise going down isn't far.

The supervisor only give you a short break every 2 hour and 30 min. A lot of the workers act very selfish. They never admits their own fault, instead they always criticize and blame other workers, and even some of the workers making jokes about your appearance or attitude etc.

Some supervisors are kind and considerate of water/bathroom breaks and the hot environment, but don't expect to take your full 15 min break because other supervisors will be rushing you out after 7 mins to don all PPEs (lab coat, ear plugs, hairnet, hand hygiene) prior to returning to your work station.

I worked at FGF brands at the 200 Fenmar Location ...

I worked at FGF brands at the 200 Fenmar Location for approximately 2 weeks. On my first day there it was ok until the end when I was paired up with a young lady who seemed to be sexually harassed. She pretended at first that she did'nt like the jokes he was playing, then she revealed that it was her boyfriend. And was laughing. My third day, one of the supervisors asked me if I had a sister who worked there, I said no. I felt like he was out to get me fired because I felt like he looked at me hatefully. I came down late one day because my replacement was a few minutes late and he rushed towards me to ask me if I was just starting to my shift, when he realized I was leaving, he simply said ok, offering no further remarks.

The Filipino's are in the majority as workers and leaders. To me, it seems like they look out for each other like they are a family. They are blind to the mistakes and wrong doing of each other. However, they are constantly looking at others to see them mess up. They are on their phones, they play with each other, they talk with each other. They don't like to help others.

If you are desperate for a job, and end up working here, at Fenmar 200 Drive, please follow these instructions.

1. Don't talk more than you have to. Less is good.

2. No matter where you are put, say you like it and tough it out if you dont. I made the mistake of thinking I can switch places because I was asked if I liked where I was working and so on and so forth. And when I didn't like where I was and said something, it became a problem.

3. If you see someone doing something that they should not be doing don't do it. If you see a Filipino using a cellphone at their work station, don't follow suit, you would get in trouble, they are unlikely to. If you see someone steal a bread on their way to lunch, don't do it. If you see someone do something that they're not supposed to, or you think they are not supposed to, don't follow suit. Try to find out what the the rules are and follow them.

4. Be at your station on time. 10 minutes before start if you have to pee and 5 minutes if you don't. It will take 5-6 minutes to put on your work gear to cover hair mouth ears, etc, and then walk to your station.

5. You will be standing in one position so you definitely need insoles for your shoes.

6.Be there 45 minutes before your shifts on days that you didn't take a picture of your shift paper, as you may have to work earlier than the team leader said that you have to, or later.

7. Try to look and learn as some, I want to say many, of the workers (team members) don't like to teach the new members. This frustrated me a lot.

In the end, I got fired. But I did'nt care, it hurt, but only because I did'nt get to quit. I found the people unfriendly and unhelpful. I made one mistake there, additionally, I was late from my breaks like three times, and I became frustrated with the favouritism and the bad attitude of the workers and leaders. Trust no one. Don't consider that you have a 20 minute break, consider it a 10 minutes break. 2-3 minutes to walk to the lunch room and 7 minutes to get back, because of the time it takes to get dressed and to wash your hands properly and put gloves on.

I am glad I am done with that place mostly because of the favoritism and unhelpfulness that exists there. Try not to make a mistake, because of you do, you are done, they do not forgive.

If you work weekends you get extra pay and food and drink for free... that's the good thing about the place. It could be a better place if it gives a good orientation for you workers to understand the job. If someone leads the tasks such as how to make boxes and other tasks and warm up the new worker to the task if it's a little tricky it would be good. Furthermore, I wish I did'nt think many of the Filipinos who work there are liars, thieves, and evil.

If there was an option to give zero stars, I would have chosen that. It's one of the most unhealthy work environments across North America and then they claim that FGF is not for everyone. They are a bunch of unprofessional people who doesn't know how to run a company. They follow a hire and fire approach. Avoid at all costs.
