I love this place. It's a great place to see a show. A lot of times bands will come out and hang with the crowd after their set. There are bars on both sides, so it's easy to get a drink. If there's not a show downstairs at the Shelter, the bar is open down there too.
Been years since I had been there, still a good time.
It was pretty cool they just remodeled so that's cool the one thing I would complain about is drink prices wholey guacamole but it was awesome downstairs they have the screen you can watch what's going on upstairs
This place is an incredible venue for live music and other special events. I have made lasting mem'ries enjoying shows as well as performing there at the Shelter.
Battle on!
Was just absolutely amazing!!!! Would definitely go again
This is a fun place to see a live show. It's not very big so it makes it feel that much more intimate. I went last night for the first time since I was 16 and I'm now 45. Hasn't changed much besides maintenance and updates to keep it fresh. Fun fact is that this was the first place Eminem had a show when he started. I think it was the shelter downstairs but fun place.
Great venue with great history. Just watched Boombox... magic
Got to see Gold Route perform and it was a great show! Nice venue with good security and pleasant employees
Great shows. Only a few people there. Couldn't really see the stage but still a good time.
I love Saint Andrew's Hall because it's so easy to get really close to any artist there, however because of how small it is, be prepared to be practically standing on people if your show is sold out.
Venue is phenomenal, sound system is great, their parking lot is pretty spooky tho. Lot of creepy people wandering around and tapping on my car windows...
Great time there a month ago ! Staff is great, provided a safe and hospitable atmosphere very much like most of times there.. saw NFG there recently.. I brought my 13 year old son, and the fellow patrons seemed very cool& helpful and one group looked out so he could have good view!!
Love love love this intimate hall for concerts. Standing room only on the main floor, but that's ok because it's easier to get to the fabulous bar! Go
We went to see Steve Earle at St. Andrew s Hall years ago and I have to say the place was pretty rough...when my sister said let s see Steve at St. Andrew s again I was excited about the concert but leery of the venue...well my how things have changed. The hall was still small and intimate but really nice. The bar was attractive and the bartenders fun... in fact every one of the staff we dealt with were super pleasant, upbeat, helpful and seemed genuinely happy to help....they were even able to make the security search thorough while not being intimidating.. not an easy feat. Whoever did the employee training at St. Andrew s has done a fantastic job....great night everyone.
Clean restrooms for a music venue. Fairly fresh Two Hearted pint cans.
Went to see Queen Naija, wish I got there early to get a good spot.
Be prepared to go through a TSA level search before going into the venue. The security guard I dealt with wanded me down, check every item in my small purse and took each item out (just some cosmetics and my keys) but also went through my wallet and shuffled through all my cards and loose change. I understand that's their job, but it felt super invasive, so if you don't want to deal with that avoid this venue.
On top of that a can of beer was $8 and the bathrooms must have poor ventilation because it STUNK in there all night. I could hardly step in without wanting to puke, yikes.
Great shows. One tip: they dont serve food but if you're hungry they have better made chips at the main bar. So if you have a friend that's a little drunk sit them down and give them water and a couple bags of better made chips. That does the trick! If you get there early you can get a good spot for the show. The balcony is an upcharge but you can definitely purchase to go upstairs inside.
Legendary local live music venue. Great place to see bands in an intimate setting.
Gorgeous venue. Very clean and staff was incredibly helpful and happy to assist with everything. First time coming to an event here and I had a great time
Great small venue. Been there twice in the last two months, and its MUCH BETTER than it was years ago.
Intimately small venue. They added premium VIP seating in balcony with its own bar, restrooms, and seating area. Ultimate place to see concerts.
I've only ever seen two shows at Saint Andrews and they were both in the Shelter. Needless to say they are two of my favorite concert experiences.
Parking available at the crossroads
Fair priced tickets
Beer is a bit pricy; it's a concert venue :/
Easy freeway access
Close to other Detroit attractions
P.S. both shows I saw were metal rock shows and the crowd definitely smelled better and we're more courteous than the patrons at Necto in Ann Arbor the one time I went.
I've been here more times than I can count. It's one of my favorite venues in Detroit. Easy parking right outside. Nice staff. Great security.
Great place to see a show, they have done tons of renovations in recent years. They even have a premium lounge on the top floor now that cost as of last night $30 person to go. They have a great selection of beer, and a full service bar. It holds about 1000 people, and the acoustics are fantastic. Highly recommended!!
Very up close and personal with the show and very friendly staff! Also, clean bathrooms and safe place to enjoy a great show ! Rock on !
Went to a concert here last week. This place is run very poorly. Waited in line at 6pm till the doors opened at 7pm (This is not the issue). Finally got inside the door at 7pm. There was 0 dj s, openers or anything (no music) from 7pm till 9:30pm. I waited for over 2.5-3 hours just standing there with nothing. A lot of people were angrily chanting F*** this sh*t and booing very loudly. You think they would at least let you know what was going on. I went to the box office since no one else did and they said the artist was close he was just in traffic this was a Wednesday night at 9pm. Keep in mind everyone coming here left their house at 4/5pm and got there in time and they are paying customers!? My issue is they never kept the entire mass of a sold out venue aware of what was going on, nor did they provide any music or anything while people were waiting for over 3 hours of standing on the floor with nothing. I would ve got my money back if he didn t show up (artist showed up around 10pm)! So I stood for about 4 hours for nothing.
One of the better music venues, and I love coming back here.
Won tickets for Kane Brown on wycd. Place was way over crowded. It was a struggle to even see the performers.
My favorite venue in Detroit to see metal! Amazing sound and a great staff! I have been to multiple amazing shows here and will continue the tradition! They do alot to provide a good safe show. I was pretty sick when I went and saw Disturbed. During the show my friend wanted to push to the front. The place was packed and we didn't make it far, but I got extremely hot. One of the security saw me struggling and sweating so he ran to the bar to get me a water and bring it to me! I would have had to wait in line for that water that may have saved my life lol. Or at least helped me enjoy the rest of the show! Great venue all in all
Staff and security is extremely rude, decent venue though. Solid sound, good viewing areas, and lots of AC!
I have been coming to shows here since I was 16 (29 years). I now bring my teenage kids and it is still the best place to see a show in Detroit, hands down. Usually affordable and never a bad view.
Loved it. Small venue. Not a bad view in the place. Nice restroom. Great staff
It's okay not bad just wish it was more seating for the sexy ladies V who like wearing sexy heels
Amazing staff! Especially Anna - she went above and beyond helping us find a lost key fob that disappeared into the Children of Bodom mosh pit! Thank you thank you thank you Anna you are a life saver, because of you we were able to make it home after the excellent metal show!
Went to silent disco for a work event. Staff was professional and place was clean.
Upgrading your tickets to the upstairs is well worth it. There s a bar and separate bathrooms so you don t have to fight the crowd. Smaller size venue for more intimate concerts.
Felt safe and secure giving the location of this venue
I just recently attended an event here and it was beyond phenomenal! The bathrooms are extremely up-to-date and were always clean. I loved how well lit the stairs are! (Not need to worry about tripping or falling down. Great staff! Awesome bartenders at a bar everywhere you turn!
Great staff and people. the entrance management needs improvement
One of the best venues I have ever visited. Sound was fantastic. Staff were great. Best part: IT'S CLEAN! Will definitely return.
I've seen many great bands there over the years. Including "Shelter" from Eminem's 8 mile downstairs. Awesome place to go to.
Nice intimate venue love seeing shows here, so much history. Wish they would add a bit more incline. But really hard to find much fault.
Went to my first concert in the basement there it was cool but crowded
I haven't been to St. Andrews in 15 years, back when WJLB hosted club nights on fridays. I went last night to see the AC/DC tribute band Thunderstruck (who were absolutely awesome by the way!!!!!).
From the moment we arrived and were standing in line outside, the head of security, Antonio came out and gave the crowd a warm welcome and gave us all the security run down in a very nice and professional way. He took his time covering all of the rules of the place and really seemed to be genuinely concerned with everyone having a safe and fun night! His entire security staff was highly courteous and professional, they were not the typical mean bouncers that you normally encounter in venues.
The venue has been remodeled in the past 15 years and it looks great! It is super clean, with super clean bathrooms and the bars were well stocked. The bartenders were absolutely great and I never had to wait for more than 2 minutes for a drink, which is pretty good considering it was a full house.
Overall, St. Andrews is a great and safe place to have fun and their staff are the nicest and most professional people! Highly recommended!!!
Excellent music venue! I attend alot of shows here since the tunnel bus stops right in front of it and is way more convenient and faster than trying to drive there (if coming from Windsor). Never had any serious problems with staff and level of service. Some nights the bar is rather busy and could stand to have additional bar tenders for faster service. They definitely do work hard there though, nothing bad to say.
It has a big dance floor. VIP section. I went for R & B Only so the music was awesome. Definitely glad there was enough space to dance. Plus a lot of security!!!
Great place, looks like they've recently redone the bar as well
It was a good venue, I wish the balcony was updated tho
Been going to St. Andy's for decades. Love this place.
I don't know why, but Saint Andrews always brings out the douchiest people to shows. Like everyone just forgets any sort of concert and crowd etiquette when they come in. Aside from that, great venue - when the crowd is good it's amazing but there's something about this place that makes the crowd weird.
I always like going to St. Andrew's Hall for the cutting edge of The Best Alternative Rock EVER!!
Great venue, they just need to crack down on hostile drunks more
Known for prime rib. The entertainment is top notch on the weekends.
