Mostly for kids as it has several game stands and kids activities . Just a couple restaurants around to have a drink or something to eat. The place is always crowdy particularly over the weekends.

Went to see Mrs Browns Boys. The acoustics were appalling so much echo we could not make out the ad libs and only understood the repetition from the TV shows. We were not alone in our complaints about the sound, others in the same area said the same. Poor acoustics are a KNOWN ISSUE WITH THIS VENUE. Good job they had TV screens otherwise we would not have seen the cast either. Brendan you have a great show, take it to somewhere we can hear and understand it.
The SSE Hydro is one excellent venue. Apart from if you have booked a seat right at the top of the venue, you don't dare look down no hand railings as you start to climb to the top, where is safety rails! There are done? Something needs done about this before someone does fall, I will forward on photos from the top row, just to give you an idea what like it is near the top of the roof lol.
Great venue but taxi queue after events needs to be looked at. 400 approx people with no taxi stewards after 12pm and hardly any taxis. Not ideal in middle of the winter!
The concert was amazing, but the floor hadn't been cleaned from the night before.feet stuck to floor & was really hard to lift them off of floor., also done my back in twisting one way, then the other. X
Great venue everything ran smoothly Security was topnotch friendly and professional the seating was good plenty of legroom. The sound was great and we had a fantastic night thank you all involved
That was the event of the year 2018: Paul McCartney at the SSE Hydro in Glasgow. Good sound, clever seating architecture, easy access to indoor catering and a good mood among the Scots. Less enjoyable is the access, because the signage is designed Scottish stingy. You also have to know the entrances or ask the consistently nice Scots. From Germany you can get there quickly by plane, you find a cheap hotel on the search platforms (eg Lorne Hotel). The public transport is great, the Uber- prices are a temptation.
Effortless access using the hydro car park. Good catering inside before the gig which was very useful for some much appreciated pre show food. Staff helpful and friendly.
Was seeing Richard Ashcroft, great night..apart from the staff...they are young, Un-experienced..rude..cheeky... I could go on... Other than the dreadful staff. The building and arena itself are amazing.. Great sound!!!
I am a regular patron at the Hydro. I have found it in general to be an excellent venue. As a wheelchair user I have found it suitable for those with mobility problems. There are two points I would point out. Firstly to me the Bass frequencies of live music is a bit muddy although not bad enough to ruin a concert. The other thing is prices within the Hydro. I know prices can be high in such venues but I think their pushing it a bit. I understand that for security and safety reasons you can't take drinks into the Hydro, but because of that you are basically forced into paying these silly prices. I am speaking of soft drinks but I assume all drinks are price are high. As a post script, I recently attended another concert at which I was one level up in a wheelchair section which I believe is not always used. I was in an area that was actually behind the level of the Drummer. I could actually see behind the stage. I would Council that when purchasing tickets that you take this into account. Both the view and sound was dreadful. I had previously awarded four stars however I now feel I must downgrade it to three.
Great venue but staff must be more aware when someone is shouting out thru out the show. There was a woman who was being really loud and was very drunk. Staff member done nothing when my mum went to them. Pay good money for the show not to have someone shouting in your ear all the time
My wife and I went to see Andrea Bocelli last night, absolutely amazing. I wasn't feeling too well and had difficulty walking. Out of nowhere, 3 First Aid staff appeared and looked after us. They were brilliant. They also managed to change our seats from 'the Gods' to the ground floor to avoid the steep stairs. They even offered to take us to our car at the end of the concert.
We cannot thank them enough, my only regret was not taking their names. You're a credit to your profession and hope this message reaches you all.
Three pensioners, along with several thousand other paying customers, were left in the freezing rain for over an hour because of a "request from the production team". We are then told the Strictly Come Dancing matinee performance has been cancelled. No explanation was given. We later learn that the problem was nothing to do with a "production problem ", but was a leak in the roof. Why could we not have been given this information there and then? What possible reason did the venue management have for keeping this information from the thousands of people waiting in the rain to see a performance which they had paid for? Whoever was responsible for keeping all these paying customers, including elderly people and crying children in the cold and rain for this length of time, whilst supplying false information, should be called to account by their managers. This level of incompetence and disregard for their customers should not be ignored. Sadly it probably will be.
Went to Australian Pink Floyd concert last night and what a bloody disaster . The band were great but the amount of people getting up and walking past every 5 mins to go to the bar was ridiculous . My friend had someone throw up behind her . I'm all for having a drink but at a seated concert the bar should have been closed until the break . What should have been a great night was totally ruined
Yet another great show, War of the World's. Great venue and always well organised. There is a good choice of refreshments before and at the interval too.
