Three pensioners, along with several thousand other paying customers, were left in the freezing rain for over an hour because of a "request from the production team". We are then told the Strictly Come Dancing matinee performance has been cancelled. No explanation was given.
We later learn that the problem was nothing to do with a "production problem ", but was a leak in the roof. Why could we not have been given this information there and then? What possible reason did the venue management have for keeping this information from the thousands of people waiting in the rain to see a performance which they had paid for?
Whoever was responsible for keeping all these paying customers, including elderly people and crying children in the cold and rain for this length of time, whilst supplying false information, should be called to account by their managers. This level of incompetence and disregard for their customers should not be ignored. Sadly it probably will be.
