Absolutely worth a visit. So much to see. Helpful knowledgeable staff.
Ship is restored following the original plans and colors. The place has the romantic aura of an era of strong development an exciting achievements, all done at an enjoyable pace.
Great exhibition. Eddie Elston is an exceptional employee with an incredible amount of knowledge! He absolutely made it.
Ticket price seemed high but with all the displays along with the ship itself and the preservation work, it was well worth it. Even better, the ticket can be used again for the rest of the year!
plenty to see 1 yearly ticket come back as many times as you like
Over the years, many restorations, additions and improvements have been made, bringing an immersive (in some ways almost literally, being under the hull) experience.
A great interactive experience and great value being able to return for free for a year
Love it. Would definitely recommend it to anyone, no matter their age or interests.
Great day out and if you gift aid can come back all year. Great value. My son loved the jouney inside Brunel mind
We had such an amazing night on board the ship, the kids loved it and so did we. We will definitely go back again
Fantastic attraction, lots to see and experience. One of the best "ship" attractions I've ever been to
Amazing inside, outside, underneath, in the dockyard and in the shop. Would go again and again with and without kids!
Brilliant for a day out with children ,history, engineering , science, and naval history ,great Brunel museum too
Informative museum about a fascinating ship. Kids got to climb the rigging!
Sometimes there's not much to do on boats but this is a complete package and well worth the entrance ticket price. A great experience that plunges you into Brunel's extraordinary mind.
Family day out, was really good and entertaining for a 4 year old and 6 year old. Had to knock a point off for the smells around the old ship...made me heave.
Amazing day out. Allow plenty of time to see everything. 3/4 of the museum is about the boat, with the rest dedicated to Brunel's other amazing achievements. The paper guide suggests the best way round the museum, giving background and context to the ship before stepping on board. There is plenty to see on the ship with access to various areas over 3 floors, and even a chance to climb the rigging.
Tickets are valid for 1 year, so you can go back as many times as you want.
Of course you have to go see this boat !! The museum that goes with it is very interesting.
A key part of Bristol's heritage. Beautifully restored
It's great, it looks like it would have done and needs saving for future generations
Museum about very significant ship and person, with great insight to early Victorian era. However, on overall I feel museum is lacking on something, when compared to other ship museum I've been to (I'm comparing to HMS Victory) Many rooms were closed in the ship unfortunately. And almost no signs around the ship either.
Great day out! Thoroughly enjoyed looking round the ship. Looks to be very well preserved.
Totally loved the whole experience. All of the staff were very informative and more than happy to talk to the visitors about this wonderful ship and exhibition. Would love to go back to take in more of the fascinating information.
One of the most important touristic stops in Bristol, the oldest boats built in England.
Brilliant day out for all the family and fully accessible for pushchairs and wheelchairs
A lot to see there. Ticket are valid one year from purchase date. Can get into cabins, under the dock. After you can eat and drink something just around the corner.
A really amazing place to visit and is ideal for families especially if you arrive by water taxi.
Great design. So fun and educational!!! Warning try to get there early as there is trouble parking. Definitely one of my favourite days out.
Can't express how nice it is you just have to go!
Fantastic restoration and good to see history being kept alive.
We visited the ship yesterday 16th August. Our visit started very stressful trying to get to the car park. A lot of the roads are closed off it took us 40 minutes + a kind gentleman to get us there. We sat in the cafe for something to eat More
The SS Great Britain is one of the must see sights in Bristol. While it is relatively expensive to visit, the museum and ship are well worth it. The inside of the ship is really well decorated to replicate the inside as it would have been, and going underneath to see the hull is a great idea. The museum section is also really interesting with lots of detail.
We visited with some Australian friends whose great-great grandmother had emigrated on this ship. They we enthralled, in particular by the accommodation and the re-construction of the kitchens, food storage areas, animal housing areas etc. More
Fascinating insight into the restoration and archiving work that goes on behind the scenes. It is great to track through the history of the SS Great Britain and experience the interior which is laid out with period furnishings and props. Will definitely return when the next part of the museum opens next year.
Absolutely gorgeous, and the tour guides give you so much information. You really find out what the SS Great Britain would have looked, sounded, and even smelled like during three different periods of history.
A great museum for the whole family to enjoy. The new Brunel section is really worth visiting to. Plus your ticket allows free return visits for a year. An amazing piece of Great British history!
The boat is well preserved and there are little interactive things to do in the museum as well as a show performed by "Brunel" which is great for kids.
Inside the boat is well displayed, mannequins show how passengers travelled with audio and even smells recreated. The attention to detail is awesome!
This was a brilliant place to visit whatever your age. Lots to see and we enjoyed learning about this old ship, also the Brunel museum was excellent and is a must
Love the ship. Definitely worth to visit. Tickets are available a whole year which i think it s great.
Superb boat good museum
Could spend full day there
Ideal for disabled and children alike !
An integral part of the cultural tapestry of Bristol, Isambard Kingdom Brunel's SS Great Britain is a fascinating technological marvel, the first iron-hulled, screw-driven steam passenger ship in the world. After a turbulent history, the Great Britain spent some time in the Falkland Islands as a rusting coal bunker, but was bought by a local businessman in 1970 and returned to Bristol.
Today she has been restored beautifully by a team of dedicated and talented staff, and is displayed in a unique setting in the same dockyard in which she was initially laid down. The museum also includes a large converted stores warehouse with many other exhibits related to the ship, and a small cafe just outside. Most definitely worth visiting for any visitors to the city.
Very nice to you when you're somewhere close, be sure to stop ...
Well worth a visit. Ticket valid for 12 months for revisiting.
Excellent value - breathtaking exhibit. Good drama performances. Massive engine and well refurbished decks and rooms. Spent 3 hours there. Dry dock experience us really good - going down beneath the water line.
Fantastic museum, can recommend it to anyone interested in the history of Brunel as well as the SS Great Britain. Fancinating learning what it would have been like sailing aboard such a historic ship. Don't forget to visit 'being brunel' for a tour through the life of this great man
Amazing family day out. The restoration of this great shop is breath taking. The staff there are very knowlagable and helpful. You will be glad that you can revisit for free as you will not get through it in one day.
This was the best museum! It gives you the history of the ship and loved history and you can see the bottom of the boat and see the architecture of how the ship was build... highly recommended!!
The SS great Britain is an amazing place to visit by far the best attraction we have visited in Bristol.
Brilliant to explore the ship and experience underneath walking under water level. Fantastic Brunel experience museum now open too
Highly interesting and informative.
Great day out for all the family - and my wife, who I've taken separately.
Beautifully restored, friendly staff, and incredibly interesting and well told
A wonderful experience. Even on a boiling hot day, we persevered down into the dry-dock, and whilst melting, took in the wonder that is SS Great Britain. Highly recommended. As are all the experiences in and around the area. Staff are friendly and helpful. They appear to be happy in their work, and this is shown by the way they are with all the visitors.
I hope that I shall return one day, as there is so much to see and do, I would like to spend more time there.....Excellent.
Very interesting to be able to see under the ship and inside it.
Amazing, they have a bit to climb the ship and it's great fun.
Brilliant! Thanks for an awesome afternoon. Didn't have enough time to look around all what you have to offer. We will be back very soon, to see everything we missed.
Such a fab and educational day out for all the family.
Wonderful - exceded my expectation. Complete with sounds AND smells!
Wonderful Bristol built first of its kind, back in the dock in which it was built. The clever design of all of the exhibits, gives you a literally unique perspective on her history
Fantastic ecperiance, a huge amount of time and effort has gone into keeping this ship and its history alive for people to see
A wonderful experience. So much history it's almost spooky. Loved it.
A great day out and lots to see. Better experience than I thought I was gonna get
Amazing experience absolutely loved the whole experience..very kind and knowledgeable staff and volunteers...can't wait to come again .what a humbling day out
Great place. Lots to learn and admire. Been there twice.
Hi, an experience to do really nice cared for and fascinated, recommended for everyone even for families
Incredible visit and spectacular recreation of what a ship from that time was like and how people were organized and accommodated on them.
