We wanted in particular to visit the ' Being Brunel' exhibition which opened last year . We read everything and so Interesting. We were in there several hours...and there's lots more to visit and see regarding the SS Great Britain.. as we have been a few times before we devoted our time to doing what we especially wanted to do.
As the ticket lasts one year we shall certainly go back and look at everything we want to look at again. Excellent!

It is a fantastic family day out. This is absolutely the go-to-place for anyone visiting Bristol. The SS Great Britain is a breath taking majestic grandeur of engineering, style, and class. The ship has been faithfully restored, and the hull has been preserved. The drydock area is simply amazing and a must see!! It puts everything into scale and perspective when you see the size of the dock, ship hull, and propeller/rudder. The view from the deck is very nice on a sunny day, would recommend you explore the deck fully. Don't forget to visit the engine room below to meet the guide who will explain why this great ship is the "great great great grand father" of all modern ship designs. Also you (hopefully) will see the engine pistols turn which is a amazing site to see it working. Would recommend you arrive a hour earlier before it opens to visit the dockyard cafe next door for breakfast. Then enter as soon as it opens to avoid queues. If you are arriving by car, you absolutely need to arrive early as the car park fills up quickly. You will also get a voucher from the parking ticket machine for ss Great Britain (but not absolutely sure what it offers as it does not present any details) . But the current prices are very good value for money, tickets last for one year, unlimited entry.

Much improved since our last visit about 10 years ago. Lots of artifacts and documents well displayed so not overwhelming. Wandering around the ship above and below is fascinating and You can really imagine what it might have been like on a voyage. The ticket lasts a year so will go back to take in some more.

Superb experience. If you've seen the Cutty Sark it's a similar but at least as good an experience. The guy who plays the great Brunel us a genius actor to the kids in the audience. The ship itself is excellently presented in it's place in history. It's a must-see if you're in the area.

Superb exhibition which is a fitting tribute to the genius of Brunel. I was amazed that you could walk around the hull in the dry dock and the inside exhibition brought alive the daily life on board. Thoroughly recommended

In a word - a revelation. You must visit this place while in Bristol. Faithfully reproduced life of the ship - from the figure, through the sounds, to the smells - which is the most surprising. The ship is very interesting and definitely worth the price. I also recommend for children - they will not be bored.
An additional interesting attraction is the possibility of entering one of the masts of the ship - of course, in an appropriate security and under the supervision of an instructor.
I recommend - a trip for half a day that guarantees a lot of memories.

MUST VISIT! I loved how it was both entertaining and educational at the same time. I learned a lot about SS Great Britain and love that we were able to go around the ship and inside the ship as well :)

This is a great thing. I went on here back in the 80s and it was just a pile of rusting junk in the bleak and aggressive city that was Bristol 30 years ago. Now it's all done up and a really atmospheric and fun experience. It's impressive.

Enjoyed visiting with my 6 year old kid. Well maintained and you need to spend at least few hours to get the feel of it. There was climbing activity on the top floor but my kid being very young, was not showing much interest in it. The tickets allows you to visit the ship N number of times for a year and hence no need to rush.

What a place at first the price takes you back a bit and the you go find out it's for a whole year and then it's worth every penny.
Very educational and interactive children and adults will both find it a great place

Fantastic day out for all family. Walk around docks, have lunch, go around the ship, enjoy new Brunel Museum. A really wonderful experience and you learn lots into the bargain. Great shop too!

Great family friendly museum with a really good feel for how the SS Great Britain must have felt like when it was used as the worlds first Ocean Liner. Lots to sea, with interactive exhibits and even some realistic smells! The below sea-level dry dock is really cool too

Watch out for the massive creepy Brunel head in the museum, you can go inside it...

Good
