Simply surberb. Faithfully recreated rooms, complete with dummies, fake food, and personal items. The main engine, and the contrast between first class and the rest are real highlights. But I'd say the best part is going underneath the "water", and viewing the original dry dock and the iron hull of this fabulous ship - you can even see the area where they patched the original holes used to scuttle the ship.

Great experience for the young and old. The entry ticket lasts all year so you can go with your kids multiple times a year. You can also climb the ropes for free like you would in those days.

Not suitable for young family. Not much to do once you have seen the ship and the staff seem to cater for an older audience. My Dad would have liked it, my kids not so much.
They also charge you for a year's admission to inflate the prices, which I wouldn t have paid if I had known what was inside.

Very nice ship...
A great place for the whole family

The site has plenty of factoids relating to IKB
And the ss great Britain... if you like this type of thing also visit the Mathew and the M shed (free entry to m shed)

My only problem with this place is you can go round the ship and its exhibits fast which is easily done with younger ones or others who don't hold the same level of interest.

So much more than I expected! Excellent museum with innovative ideas, lovely cheery staff and a really good cafe. Surprisingly good accessibility on the ship too. Recommended for all the family.

Great historic ship, pricing is a little higher than expected but you can return any tine over the next year, part of the lower decks of the ship were closed for a private function limiting what we were able to see.

We went with our 4 year old grandson & he found plenty to look at & do as did we!

A real peace of engineering history and the story of she was brought home from the fawklands is amazing.
She's still a very beautiful ship and oozez the grandure of her time. A picture is painted of how the wealthy spent their time at sea and then there were those in the lower glass in stearage how different was their lot.
While there I sat in on a talk about the ships surgeon and what his duties were very interesting and they were not what one would imagine.
I would return to visit again as you could find something new each time.

I thoroughly enjoyed the experience of being on board a piece of British history. It was not too crowded although my visit was on a Bank Holiday and with a reasonably priced entrance fee it added to a good day out.

My partner and I visited over the weekend, spontaneously, as we saw the ship from the road. I have to say the amount of detail about Brunel was fascinating! There was so much to read and see, and the impersonator had a strong physical likeness to Brunel and was very passionate about the history to be explored.

The ship was stunning and so well restored! The models and scenes set up about the ship had great detail and even smelled as they would have done! The digital rats and sound affects took us by surprise a few times too!

Very interesting and informative place. And not only the ship itself, which is magnificent, but also the accompanying small museums around the ship and on the way to the ship on the embankment. Feel like a 19th century sailor

Very interesting attraction even if you are not a massive marine or sailing fan. Very well executed, interactive with great attention to detail. You will learn a bit about history and long and twisted journey of this great ship. Great and entertaining place to visit not just for kids. Worth checking out.

Brilliant museum and rebuilt ship. Would love to see more of the engine and boiler room but understand the safety reasons for not. Good visit for 7 year olds or older that can appreciate and don't want to charge around.

Always a pleasure to be part of a wedding on this iconic ship.
This is our Imperial 1930's style vehicle.

Wonderful opportunity to explore the historic SS Great Britain in the very dry dock in which it was built. You can take steps down into the dock and walk right around the hull, before boarding the ship via an excellent museum. All three decks are available to explore with plenty of exhibits, models and explanatory materials. Highly recommended for all ages.

I payed for a family of four, hugely overpriced in my opinion. More people would visit this if doing so didn't mean remortgaging the house. At the end of the day it's an iron ship..it maybe a very special ship that has been beautifully preserved but it's a ship! Your lasting memory of seeing Brunels iron wonder will be you wondering how they managed to empty your wallet so quickly.
