Great museum-way better than I thought it would be. They've integrated the smells and exhibits very well and would be entertaining/informative for children through to adults.

We have Mr Brunel to thank for building this ship in the old " build it simple but build it like a battleship " victoria style and one Mr Ewan Corlett for rescuing said ship from the Falkland Islands.
Speaking of battleships , some of the S.S Great Britain's iron plates were used to patch up H.M.S Exeters battle damage caused during the Battle of the River Plate.
Your admission fee not only gives you access to the ship but also the Dry Dock, Dock yard museum, Brunel Institute and visitor centre.
Small car park outside the attraction but with Limited Disabled parking slots.
Generally speaking access to the Ship and surrounding areas is very good.
Good catering facilities offering reasonable prices with most tastes catered for.
Wheelchair users can access the Ship and the dry dock by means of a lift.
Do take advantage of the free audio tour which really brings the whole attraction to life.
Very good family day out in my opinion and well worth more than one visit.
Great fun and informative place for all the family. Amazing to see the innovative aspects Brunel introduced to the design. Excellent range of interactive and media styles to tell the story of the ship from idea, construction to bringing home in 1970's.
Really interesting for adults and families and the new exhibits are excellent. If there's someone pretending to be Mr Brunel, they are likely to be superb so go and chat to them out watch their little show.
We visited Brunel's SS Great Britain with our toddler today and had a simply fabulous time!
We were both surprised at the wealth of different elements this attraction had to offer in addition to the ship itself and it kept our little boy thoroughly entertained. All in all we were there almost 3 hours which is pretty good going when you have a little one in tow.
There is so much to see and learn here and they have gone to great lengths to ensure their Covid processes are clear so that you know exactly what to do and where you should be going. In addition, every member of staff we encountered went out of their way to be helpful and made the whole experience such a pleasant one. A wonderful day out to remember!
Amazing experience. Interactive and a great day out 9n a wintery day in December.
History which is unforgettable, left us with great engineering work. very good place to bring children along.
An absolutely fantastic day, kept 36 young people entertained all day long so well worth the entrance fee
Brilliant.... first saw it thirty years when it first arrived here, now she looks beautiful graceful and peaceful. Lots to see and learn and a fitting tribute to Isambard.
Great museum, very friendly and helpful staff and really engaging and informative displays. The tickets aren't cheap, but you can return anytime with 12 months. Covid-19 measures are sensible and don't negatively impact the visit. A great 2-3 hour visit with or without kids.
A true miracle of preservation and a living museum. Spent much longer visiting than intended as got drawn into the history and quality of the display.
Loads to see, all well kept and the staff are friendly
Best tourist attraction in Bristol! Fascinating ship which has been restored. Really interesting inside. You can go into virtually all of the ship, as well as underneath it. Also lots of side museums. Tickets valid for a year. Cafe there as well.
Great ship. The first metal hull. Incredible history, very well presented, extremely helpful staff. Now at its final resting place in the original dock that she was built in. Not to be missed if in the area.
Great fun & very interesting. kids (10, 7 & 6) enjoyed it more than I thought. tickets valid for a year too.
The experience was one of a kind, learn so much. Very educating all the staff was very helpful providing a good service.
Incredible ship with a amazing history. Museum and experience is well worth the trip. Well done for preserving such an iconic piece of history.
good restoration of an old ship however very expensive
Excellent place, it is worth paying for the tour and getting to know the museum ship
Fantastic. We'll worth visiting. Could take two visits to see everything in depth.
So much to see, information abundant and knowledgeable staff on hand to add extra detail and colour. Lovely to see this beautiful ship in her 50th year since her return to Bristol. Convenient parking and great refreshment facilities. We learned so much. Well worth a visit.
I find it overrated .not much of my interest . Just an old ship
So much more to see than I thought. We'll definitely make use of the year-long ticket!
Amazing and educational day out for the whole family
Very interesting. Lots to see. Ticket lasts for a year.
Loved it bot scared of highs so I was concerned bout going into the engine room but other than my own fears of heights it's impossible to say I don't love the SS Great Britain
Great fun guy for the family. Love the new exhibition
Interactive sights, sounds and smells on board, and find out more about the history in the museum and science of the dry dock underneath
Loved it, very informative.Need to visit again for I surely missed parts and free to re-enter
Fantastic place for a visit with family! Loved the view and how the boat is recreated.
Very impressive ship. Unfortunately, the positioning of it in the dock doesn't do it much justice
Restored beautifully, great historical master piece
Absolutely a star attraction. Endless time, money and imagination spent in making this great old lady a must visit.
Well presented, enthusiastic staff, extra events and worth the admission
Great day out with the kids and very interesting too
Very interesting visit , lovely to go on board after seeing her come up the river as a child.
