Superb customer service! Try their pizza because it is awesome! Thin crust with hearty sauce and not greasy. Great view with very nice kozy atmosphere. We also had the fried ravioli and it was just as good as the pizza.
Large food and drink menu with plenty of options for all appetites. They say the baked lasagne is also on the list of favorites. Don't worry about high prices because they're beyond reasonable and fair.
Anyone can find a reason to enjoy this fine establishment. Try it, you just might like it.

Waitress was friendly, but the place was so crowded she was overwhelmed. Didn't even know there was a buffet until after we ordered. Had to wait an hour for a table and an hour for the deep dish, but it was worth it in the end.
Decided to give Sonny's another shot so I ordered deep dish and children's mac and cheese because I didn't want a big side dish. The deep dish was lacking sauce and the crust wasn't flavorful at all but it was overall ok. The restaurant should be embarrassed by the "children's mac and cheese" even if it was meant for kids how dare you serve a box of kraft mac and cheese and call it your own and charge 6.00! Last chance blown I won't be back.
Love how all the negative reviews are from "google user". Great pizza, best in Door County. Great Buffet. Service and people are great. Only place to take your family that wants kids to have a good time (game room, birthday parties). Don't be fooled, Sturgeon Bay Sonny's is the BEST!
The pizza is decent, nothing spectacular. The atmosphere is great, however. You definitely want to sit outside if the weather is good. You'll sit up high and have a great view of the entire harbor while cars drive through the bridge right below you.
Large selection of beer and wine to choose from. Had a Sonny s Amber that was darker then usual Amber beers, but not too hoppy. The fried ravioli was a big portion and crisply fried. Arrived very hot! Had a stuffed pizza. For being 240 miles from Chicago it wasn t bad. Fairly generous portions and pizza came sliced warm...not piping hot which is also good so I could dig right in.
Great decor of consignment paintings and photographs. The view would be tremendous if I wasn t there at 7:00pm in February when it was dark!
We have eaten here dozens of times. They have great pizza. Their service has always been good for us. They have a fantastic view. Come before 5pm on Friday night to beat the crowd.
We tried their Neapolitan wood fired pizza, it was amazing! Super quick and friendly staff! I would definitely recommend this place. Their kitchen is open until 10 but the lobby is only open until 9:30.
The food is SO GOOD! .....and the atmosphere is awesome! Depending on when you go, there is usually a little bit of a wait to get seated...but there's so much to look at and the with the view of the water....the time just flies.
Pizza was quite delicious yeah also nutritious. Restaurant has a very nice atmosphere, and is also quite large. Staff is very friendly. In addition they have a wide section of foods. I highly recommend if you re in door county and want quality pizza!
This has always been a great pizza place, but now that they are in their new building, it is the best. They probably have the best restaurant location in all of Sturgeon Bay. Right on the water, in the harbor, close to downtown.
The food is great. Good selection of pizza/topping, including specialty Chicago style, and thin pies. If you are not into pizza they have sandwiches and other Italian dishes. A salad bar if you are looking for some lighter fare. They have a good gluten free crust and a GF cake, which is nice to see at an Italian place. In the summer they have an ice cream shop downstairs.
Place is casual, with some larger tables for bigger groups. It looks like a good place to bring your friends and just hang out overlooking the harbor. We went in the winter, but you could see a nice patio and deck for the warmer months.
Cool atmosphere, pretty good pizza, great selection at the bar. I just wish they could transfer a bar tab to your table check once you're seated. Many other places do, I'm just not sure why this one does not. A cool place otherwise.
My husband and I love this place. Not only is the service fast and friendly, the food is amazing. My husband, a chef himself, said that it is up there with some of the best Italian food he has ever tasted, and you sure get a lot for your money! We could tell the ingredients in each dish were fresh and homemade. We will definitely be coming back here and bringing friends!
Let me start off by saying the prices were low, the food was great (especially the thin crust pizza), BUT the service was absolutely awful. Seated immediately (not busy), waited 20min before I decided to get our drinks from the bar. Another 15-20min later a waitress came over and asked if anyone had helped us yet and obviously the answer was no. She took our order and came back about 30min later with our food. Food was great! About 10min after we got our food, our drinks were empty. We waited another 20min and I decided to get up and get our drinks from the bar...again. 15min after that we saw our waitress again and she asked if we needed anything. My answer was, "Not anymore. We would like our bill and some to-go boxes." That came back to the table almost immediately (surprise, surprise). We sat there, finished our drinks and our comment/rating cards. Waitress came back and asked if she could take our payment. I told her I would take it to the manager, personally. He happened to be at the host station when we walked up there. I let everything calm down up there so I could talk to him without making a scene and disrupting business, or anyone else's experience...like any respectful person would do. I was offered no compensation for my half-assed experience except possibly a round of drinks next time I came in (like anyone us gonna remember me since I didn't make a scene). I'm not a mean person, so I definitely complimented them on their food and told the manager to pass it along to the cooks, but also to pass along my complaints on service to the wait staff. He asked if we would please give them another try. I will, reluctantly...only because the pizza was great! Their sauce is what makes it what it is. I just feel like we were looked down upon. Even though we were the best dressed in the restaurant, that I saw; it felt like the waitresses were fighting not to serve us because we are younger (33 and 30). They probably thought we weren't going to be good tippers. I always leave 25% for great service, 20% for good and 15% for average. Like I said, this dining experience (since I knew the cooks wouldn't get any of it) saw a 0% tip. Hope they get their s#!t together before I stop back. Only reason this place gets 2 stars is because the cooks and the food they made were great. I'll leave another rating after I stop there next time. I really dread it though. Not up for being disappointed by service twice. Waiting tables, when not even busy, is way too easy for someone to screw up.
Great place to eat. Relaxing atmosphere. Laura was a great waitress. She was the best waitress we have had in a long time. Because of her we will defiantly be coming back and recommending this restaurant to everyone. She also gave us a little cake with a candle for our anniversary. She needs a raise.;)
My family enjoys Sonny's... particularly the delivery option on very cold and snowy days/ nights. The delivery people have always been super nice and courteous, too. Yummy.
Great view of marina, good food, lousy service. You are the face of the company. You want to make your customers feel welcome. We weren't even greeted. If it weren't for the food, (that we drive an hour to come for) we'd have gone elsewhere.
The lunch buffet was excellent . good price . The soda is 2.99 though a bit pricey I guess that's how they make up for the lunch buffet price of 7.99. Overall great pizza and salad bar came.with ice cream too cant beat that if you have kids
Great food but sometimes the servers are slow and unnattentive to the table. The portions of the main courses are huge! And some come with the salad bar.
Great food and fabulous Tiramisu, but they forgot to include ketchup with our delivery. Had we been at home this could have been overlooked, but we were staying at a nearby resort that didn't have ketchup for guests. Disappointing.
Love the location and decor. Great views of the bay. We shared a thin crust pizza. Flavor was decent. The crust got pretty floppy after a bit. My fave item was the garlic breadstick.
Great view of the scenic view just being the Marina. I enjoyed watching the boats come in and out while sitting outside to eat. When dining for two especially, I highly recommend splitting the 11 inch brick oven pizza with the meat on it and the lobster ravioli. I would even venture to say those are the best items on the menu!!
The service at this establishment was far from acceptable. After being seated, we waited a long time to even have our server come to us for drinks. What made things worse was we were seated at a table next to the main flow of traffic, which seemed to have every server other than our own pass us by, over and over. All we wanted was the pizza buffet, but it took well over 10 minutes to see our server.
The pizza buffet ran out of lettuce for my salad, though my wife had no issue taking the last of it knowing I was behind her. I can't fault the restaurant entirely for that.
The pizza wasnt that bad, actually. This would be a three or four star review if we didn't have to wait over 10 minutes to ask for the buffet. The table didn't help either, as it was rather loud with all the traffic.
I've been a Sonny's customer for a long time. The last few pizzas have been inconsistent at best. Tonight we waited an hour for a cold pizza to arrive. For the price they charge, it's disappointing to get an expensively cold pizza.
We stumbled on this place by accident really. We were looking for a place to watch the Packers and saw that the parking lot was mostly full, so we thought it might be a good option. Thankfully we were correct! This is a great place to sit at the bar and watch a game. There are at least 5 TVs, which will allow you to see from pretty much any seat. We ordered a pizza and it was brought out about 15 to 20 minutes later....Delicious! Many different pizzas to choose from. Ranging from deep dish to neapolitan. Many other Italian dishes available. If the bar area isn't your thing, the dining area is very classy looking. There's great views of the lake and marina for beautiful picture opportunities. The staff was very friendly and quick to make sure we had full glasses. There's not one negative thing we experienced here. Can't wait to come back!
Simply one word would rare this place: AWESOME! Great friendly staff. Phenomenal pizza and wings (the tai chili is super). Last but not least is The BEER... tried them all and none disappointed. A MUST STOP IF IN AREA
My wife and I went here for our first meal on our honeymoon. I ordered the mac and cheese, which is litterally a pound of pasta with curdled cheese and seperated oils, the server had no problem not asking any questions about why we didnt eat 90% of our meals.
