SOIN Review

I was very disappointed with the service here! I brought my 19 year old brother here because he was having severe throat pain and having trouble talking and breathing. The people who checked him in was very nice and considerate. Well, he went to the back by himself and after I went back to check on him, this hospital had my brother sitting in the hall on a bed. How horrible! So when the nurse came to check on him I asked was him sitting in the hall considered a room? and she said yes, we put people here when we don't have any empty rooms , and a couple seconds after she said that another nurse sits a young lady in the room right next to us ! Then nurse Holley says , oh and those rooms are considered trauma rooms, but it doesn't seen like she has any trauma! Are you kidding me??? come on we are not stupid, my husband, who works in a hospital and I start to laugh, because that was a horrible excuse. My brother was discriminated against, for whatever reason, maybe our race or the fact that he didn't have any insurance, but I will make sure this situation doesn't go unhandled!

Wait times are forever because of individuals coming here for NON emergency matters for issues like sore throats, coughs, congestion, runny nose, headaches, the lobby is filled with people sitting around laughing on cell phones for NON emergency issues. That s what a primary health care physician is for not The freaking ER. My son had glass stuck up into his foot which is definitely an emergency issue. If he had a sore throat I would take him to his Doctor not the ER. Be prepared to wait 3-4 hours in lobby on top of a 3 hour wait once they get you back.

I went to the ER on a very busy night. With a mildly serious condition. I was there no more than an hour. I was treated with dignity and respect. The staff was helpful. Kept the lobby informed and were very professional and courteous. This was my first time using this ER. I hope I never have to but if I ever needed to again I'd go here. No questions asked!

I had my youngest son at Soin Medical Center in Beavercreek. I have never seen a care facility like this one! Every member of the staff was so kind and genuinely cared for our well-being and comfort. My son had to stay longer than I, but the staff continued to care for us both without hesitation. I only wish I could give a higher rating, this facility absolutely deserves it! Special thanks to the incredible staff of Advanced Women's, Labor & Delivery, Mother-baby Care/Special Care Units, Social Services and House Keeping. My heartfelt thanks to you all for all the care and kindness you showed during our stay.

Besides waiting in the lobby for almost an hour with people throwing up at both ends it was a great experience

Love this hospital . Exceptionally great medical staff. Surgical staff are the tops. Food doesn't taste like hospital food. Food taste like restaurant food. 5 stars all the way !!!

The main entrance staff is very rude and almost caused me to miss my appointment by telling me that my doctor had moved out of the building. The front desk staff was rude as well. This is not my first choice for medical care.

Soin always takes good care of myself and my family. The doctors and nurses and techs are all super friendly and professional. Everyone is knowledgeable and they make sure you re well taken care of. Highly recommend this hospital over any others in the surrounding communities!

Second time in that ER tonight. First time they sent me by ambulance to Southview for treatment. This time I was experiencing tingling in my arms and legs. I have anemia and my blood levels are low. I thought it was lack of oxygen to my extremities. I also started a high dose of Prednisone today. Drs. ignored my known history and just said determined it was not neurological and discharged me still tingling. Did a quick Google search and tingling is a serious side effect of Prednisone and if experiencing it to call my Dr immediately. Instead of being treated as I should've been in the ER I'm laying in bed tingling waiting for my hemotologist office to open tomorrow. My advice, go to another ER.

My father has been at this hospital before and currently is now.Its an hour from us .They have treated my dad like he's the only patient in this place giving him beyond exceptional care and they listen to what you are telling them and check everything.I wish it were closer to home ,but they've saved my dad's life several times.If I could give extra stars I would.My dad is not a hospital doctor kind of person but he actually loves Soin Medical Center.I want to thank everyone who has cared for my dad previously and now.Thank

The staff was really accommodating. From front desk to registration to all the medical staff. I was impressed with the customer service experience.

Have been here since 9:00 a.m. for a scheduled surgery at 10:30 a.m.
Still waiting haven't even started...just sitting in the bed

Michelle the night nurse with long black beautiful hair is amazing. Julie or Julia the PA was awesome as well.
Although when I did the kakaw call to get assistants no one came like the nurse said but, it's ok we got wonderful customer service. Highly recommend.

Sion employees are so friendly and accommodating to make sure that I was comfortable and not worried about anything. We pulled in and from the minute we got there we were constantly taken care of. I could not believe how fast we received treatment and they were busy. I would recommend Sion to anyone. Fantastic Hospital and Amazing Employees!!

No doubt the best care I have ever gotten at a hospital. Service, care and instruction was top notch from ER to ICU until final room. Nurses were compassionate, knowledgable and helpful in all ways. Food was restraunt quality. Even during Covid scare I felt safe. I'll never go anywhere else.

Not pleased at all you guys won't bill my insurance the nurses are AWESOME would get 5 stars but I'm highly upset with this place got my wife all upset thanks a lot....

Took me in immediately for EKG after experiencing chest pains. Nurses and Doctor were in the room when I got there. Very professional individuals.

I visited Soin Emergency Room due to extreme pain in my lower back and hip area. The staff were pleasant and immediately took me to a room where my condition was looked in to by the physician. Admitted quickly from the ER to ICU. The ICU team was outstanding! Amazing teamwork and care. Once ICU got me stabilized and heading in the right direction I was moved to the 5th. floor step down unit. Dr Hummel did an outstanding job and had a great bedside manner. The nursing staff was unbelievably good. Their knowledge and caring really helped to get me through this. Lots of of other Doctors and staff involved unfortunately too many names to list here. They were all consistently excellent. PT dept gets kudos for their heavy lifting and getting me able to be mobile again. This was my first visit to Soin Medical Center and I was extremely impressed. I can t thank you all enough for your expertise and caring attitude. Thank you and may God Bless you all and keep you well.

I was in Soin for 3/4 days w collapse lung ...i never wish to go back there again! !!!! I ask to b transfer to Green Hospital! ! The doctor call me in myroom and told me that my last lung doctor i had 6 mnts earlier had quit Green hospital. And his partner doesn't go to green hospital! !!! Sooooo. ???? Then she called back and told my transfer will cost $800. !!! But i have good ins !!!! Soo 2 lies...they didn't want to lose a customer!!! But please folks! Read the reviews 1st....i seen nurse texting. While doing there job !!! N real slow to get to you....my lung doctor put a new tube in my chest. I ask him please transfer me to Green..Thank god he did. So the transfer people called the nurse at my floor. And told them they be there in 30mins !!# she came in and told me and say now i must do my paper work b4 they get here !! Like it was my fault !!!! When i got to green at 9pm ..it felt like home n i wad so relax.. I got sleep some.. Eveyone there was so nice to me like family.....So Soin please take notice that Green hospital put you all to shame !!!!! Please don't go there !!!!!!!! PS..i would give them -5 stars !!!!!! They are ins money hogs !!!!!!

This hospital is one of the best hospitals for bed side manner and really having amazing patient care. Saved my life all because that went that one step further when it was nothing else and found a problem no one would have even thought about. Thank you to each one of this hospital's employees and volunteers. You all are amazing and have a special place in my heart..

This place was completely garbage I took my bf last night because his throat was bothering him he was diagnosed with chronic tonsillitis and a cyst in his throat his throat was acting up really bad so We went there and the staff was extremely rude I will never in my life go back to this place again let alone take him back there you don t know how good a place is until you ve been to the crabbiest one if you can make sure you go to Miami Valley this place is a joke

The entire staff was awesome! I had an unexpected emergency visit to the hospital. Ended up staying overnight. From the time I came in, through each procedure and discharge everyone was friendly, accommodating and informative. And as promised, they had a cup of coffee and chocolate chip cookie waiting for me when I returned from getting my biopsy.

While I have MUCH to say, I will have to wait to share the majority at a later date. I will share this for the time being though; the staff (physician and RN) we dealt with the night of 11/4 and morning of 11/5/16 are in need of some serious sensitivity training. Upon receiving a phone call at 3:50 in the morning, the RN in charge of my mother's care identified himself then non nonchalantly said, "Your mom passed." As I was in utter shock, it was the middle of the night and this was COMPLETELY unexpected, I confusedly yelled, "What???" To which he repeated without an ounce of care, "Your mom passed." As I cried out in disbelief and said, "I was just there a few hours ago!" he responded with a chuckle. A chuckle!!! This, by far, is the worst possible way ANYONE should ever learn of their loved one's death. I am angry beyond words and outraged at the TOTAL lack of compassion provided. How difficult would it have been to start with a simple, "I am so sorry to have to tell you..."? NEVER in my life will I send another loved one to Soin Medical Center nor will I ever recommend them to ANYONE, not even my worst enemy. I will forever live with the guilt of stupidly leaving my mother alone in their "care."

Ankles swollen and had an appointment. Am a senior citizen. Talked to me as if I was a twelve year old. No may I help you. They could not find me a wheel chair

I had to take the Covid-19 test. I have taken it before at another location and it was PAINFUL. Ashley the nurse at Soin was very careful and kind when she gave me the test. There was no pain. Thank you Ashley for the great job.

Worthless . They couldn't even diagnosed my wife with shingles. It's so common . Although we were not aware of it but after we came home from the ER and checked in Google we guessed that it was shingles. We then called our Swift MD doctor and she confirmed it by looking at the pictures. If you can't detect shingles then what good are you .

They threw me out even though I could barely walk. If you do not insurance then they could care less about you.

Everything first class from top to bottom. From receptionist at the ER to the Doctors, PAs, Nurse Practitioners, Nurses, orderlies in both the ER and in the room, to all of the professionals in the imaging and Cardio labs, everyone was professional, friendly, and caring. I love this hospital!

I received excellent care while a patient at Soin Medical Center. From the time I entered the center I was treated like the only person in need of care. The nurses in pre-op, Jill, Molly, Kelly, and the two Amies were wonderful. If I forget anyone's name, please charge it to my memory and not my heart. The nurses in surgery kept me distracted with their jokes, thank you so much. I remember waking up with tears running down my face. I have no idea why. When I was taken to my room, the nursing staff was the best. The fact I can remember everyone's name ( I left the book in the den) is a tribute to everyone's kindness and caring. My nurses were so awesome! This was a very scary part of my life and the nurses calmed me and were so sweet even after I made some messes . I am very blessed to have had great care while there.

I visited Soin Medical Center for an elective surgery and was extremely pleased with the service and care given by all employees. From initial screenings upon arrival, pre-surgery, surgery, post surgery and discharge. All staff members were genuinely concerned about my well being.

I highly recommend Soin Medical Center!

Worst hospital...went into the ER for a simple wound care and was left bleeding for 30 minutes then i was charged 2 ,315 dollars for being treated like s**t don't ever go there ill bleed out first next time

Told me what was wrong, then sent me put the door without treatment. Staff was " fake nice" and wouldn't really listen to what I was trying to tell them. I nd a family friend die at Soin Medical because they said they couldn't help him. He died and now there's a huge malpractice lawsuit against these murders. No stars. PLEASE DONT GO TO SOIN MEDICAL CENTER, PLEASE FOR YOU AND YOUR FAMILY'S LIVES.

I was there today in the ER for an accident and let me say they are PHENOMENAL! They were completely accepting of my wanting to be sedated to have the object removed from my foot. And there was not any sort of feeling of dismissal. Everyone was warm and caring. They understood about my fear of needles and made sure I was not awake for anything but the tetnus shot and the IV. And even then the nurse Christy got the IV FIRST TRY, and the tetnus shot I barely noticed. I will definitely have no fear of going there if I need anything in the future.

Aug. 9, 2020 Horrible ER experience. Went in for bilateral rope burns on hands with skin hanging off and burns down 4-5 dermal layers with stated pain level 8/10. CNP was in the room for 30 seconds, then left because she could obviously care less. No orders written to administer meds STAT for his acute pain OR to remove hanging skin prior to bandages; just orders for regular bandaids, TAO, tetanus, and told to just go buy something OTC for his pain on our way home. Let me also mention that the RN we had (although very sweet), needs to go back to nursing school to relearn BASIC first aid....sheesh
When I got home, I immediately gave my son 2 Aleve!! I cut away all the torn hanging skin, washed both of my sons (whole) hands with antibacterial soap, applied TAO and bandaids/bandages that covered all of his wounds entirely and correctly. It s a good thing his mom is a GOOD nurse. I knew there was no reason to waste time going to this place on our way home from our river outing. I thought Soin would provide immediate care and relief from his injuries. Boy was I wrong.
I can imagine the bill will still be $5,000.

PLEASE, for the love of yourself AND your loved ones, GO TO MIAMI VALLEY!!!!!! This place and anyplace else in Kettering network will KILL YOU while using up your insurance s dollars.

Was a very busy night, but the charge nurse, Russ, came out multiple times to check on the waiting room, and reassure people of the rough timeframe, and the reason we were waiting, etc. Was very impressed by this, as I've never had that occur at any sort of health-related location, even when I have an appointment, let alone an ER, when you don't! :) Thanks, Russ!

I had a TURP procedure on my prostate done at Soin Medical Center and the experience was EXCELLENT! From admission through the procedure and recovery (bed 28 on the 5th floor), I received the best care! The Doctors, Nurses, Nurse Assistants, Cleaning and Food service personnel were friendly, professional and, most of all, caring. If I ever need a hospital in the future, I will ALWAYS choose Sion Medical Center.

My experience at Soin Medical Center to receive a pacemaker was outstanding. The staff was just great and make my visit as comfortable as possible. Would recommend those folks- they are just tops

Great staff, very helpful. The building is incredibly designed and maintained, very clean. My only complaint is the cafeteria, the food is absolutely horrible.

Because didn't have any insurance, they sent me home and i am sick, and they didn't take my blood, i could be dying, but i apply for it back in September and just now got a letter Saturday.

If I could give no stars I would. This place is a joke. It happened to be the closest hospital to me for some time and went only for convenience. On multiple occasions I had to deal with a Harrold Deal. Who isn't a doctor. And is only contracted through the hospital.
As always they try their hardest to get you out of their hair as quickly as possible without providing any services. I have never received such terrible patient care in my life. They have no regard for your actual feelings or symptoms. Good luck even having something done for less serious issues. Terrible. Do not go to them. You're better off driving farther to Dayton to actually get care.

I went in to the ER last week after having some dizzy spells and was treated with great care and respect. The entire team was friendly and helpful and took great care of me. Kudo's to Nurses Kayla and Colleen and Dr. Freyhof.

It was nice to see the staff working together to ensure that not only the patients but the facility was taken care of. I traveled 30 minutes to get there due to not wanting to go to my local hospital. It was worth the drive. Thanks so much Soin staff!!

Very nice and friendly staff. The nurses were very attentive & concerned for my well being. They listened to what I said & made me comfortable. Thank you it's important to know there is a hospital that cares for you as a person.

I went to SOIN MEDICAL CENTER several months ago to have blood work run because they are a in network provider with blue cross--they charged me $280.80 and said this was my co-pay??? So I am thinking about Bio Identical Hormones and called blue cross to see what they would cover and they rep said I had meet 0 towards my dedt and they paid 100 per cent of they labs several months ago--I called Soin billing and the lady tried to tell me that was a co insurance and I owed that to them--so called my blue cross back and had the rep call her and now they are refunding the $280 back--now if my insurance company PAID them 100 percent and I PAID them $280--THEY WOULD HAVE KEPT THAT MONEY IF NOT CAUGHT---She tried to tell me they would have refunded it back but these test were done several months ago---THAT WAS MY 1ST TIME AND LAST TIME THERE--THAT IS A PRETTY BIG RIP OFF--NO TRUST THERE!!!

Had surgery and overnight stay. Everyone very friendly and good care.

In extreme heat conditions , my driver waited in the car. Perhaps after checking his temperature and answering questions, he could have waited in the large atrium following social distancing.

Suggestion : Ledges as we enter and exit office visits be wiped with sterilizer.

My experience with the physician and staff was excellent.

I went to the ER and it was a HORRIBLE place!! The first nurse I encountered was cold and uncaring. She took an oral temp when I couldn t breathe or keep my mouth closed so that wasn t accurate and was told I didn t have a fever. The PA listened to my lungs and said I would get a breathing treatment which I never received! I was told that I was going to get prednisone and I told them that I couldn t take that but they gave it to me anyway. I was in and out of there in two hours. It was a case of treat and street but I was never treated. I would suggest going elsewhere if you want to be treated like a human being.

Don t go there if you have an emergency, they ll make you wait even if you were about to die.

The staff were very friendly and the hospital was clean but finding a parking spot was a nightmare. Drove around the parking lot for 30 minutes till someone pulled out of a spot so I could park. I hope with the new addiction they just built there will be more parking for visitors.

New Year's Eve - Got in immediately and was seen by a nurse practitioner immediately and by the supervising physician shortly thereafter. Nurse was professional and friendly, as was the medical assistant. Overall, a good experience.

The staff that I had the pleasure in dealing with were courteous and helpful. Very empathetic towards my son and tried to talk with him even though he was just not feeling well. Explained to me of symptoms to look for if my son s infection gets worse. Clean facility. I definitely will return if we have another late night call. Overall a great help! Thank you!

Suffered a biking accident on a Saturday afternoon. No wait in the ER so was taken to a bed right away. In and out within 2 hrs which included x-rays and stitches, which by the way, the NP did a fantastic job on!

Very fast and friendly service. For now on if I need to go to the hospital this is where I ma going.

I took my wife to the Soin ER. Emergency room personnel responded quickly and efficiently. The doctors gathered needed test data assessed the problem and implemented a recovery plan. From the ER, they admitted my wife. For three days, a professional staff of Doctors, Nurses, and support personnel assured her recovery proceeded smoothly. Her diagnosis took the melding of minds and the doctors/nurses rose to the occasion. The five star rating reflects our appreciation and gratitude for the care and concern received. The doctors and nurses showed sincere dedication and compassion.
