Stayed here for 3 nights did a Lake Nasser cruise and then came back for a 4th night. If not for the visit to Abu Simbel I could happily have stayed at the Sofitel Legend instead of taking the 4 night cruise. The hotel is designed to relax you as soon as you enter with the welcoming staff, soothing landscaping and complimentary hibiscus juice. We stayed in the newer tower and enjoyed fantastic Nile views, incredible service and large, well designed suites with comfortably large terraces. Breakfast was exceptional with a nice variety of fresh fruit, salads, a good omelet station and many well executed Egyptian dishes. I especially enjoyed the fresh juice bar which included anti aging and energy mixes. The service throughout the hotel is top notch but Peter, in the breakfast area, deserves special mention for his kind remarks and attentive service. We also had the privilege to meet Shawky who calls himself a butler but is more like a front end manager. This gentleman was so gracious and helpful in all of our dealings with him that my wife and I looked forward to seeing him every day, a true professional who took great pride in his work and in the Old Cataract. If you are in Aswan please do not miss staying at this property it was one of the highlights of our month long stay in Egypt.

Historical hotel in the late nineteenth century in...

Historical hotel in the late nineteenth century in the English colonial style, decorated with Art Deco motifs and furnishings renovated with good taste. The historic building was the site of filming of the movie "Death on the Nile" from the novel by Agatha Christi. Also among the guests of this hotel include Winston Churchill, Khedive Abbas Helmi Pasha, Lord and Lady Cromer, and Aga Khan III who stayed there regularly during the winter months.
Next to the historical site the hotel has been extended with a new modern sleeve that incorporates the colors and design of the original block balconies, and connects to it with a pleasant terraced garden and swimming pool overlooking the Nile.
It is advisable to book, even for a lunch at the restaurant remains the best in the area.
L 'atmosphere and attention to detail blend with the friendly service of the staff.

Oh, the splendor of the place and the luxury from the balconies of the rooms. This you see almost the entire city of Aswan, you see the most beautiful governorate of the Nile, which is Aswan, and the hotel from the inside you see another level of sophistication and royal luxury, and you feel as you wandering inside the place as if you are wandering inside a museum and not a hotel or as if you are in a royal palace you are in The King, and from the Iraq of the place, you see this also in the aspects of its workers. You feel as if they are proud of the place and leave inside them the greatness of the place and despite that you find their creativity in providing service.

As much the decoration of the hotel, the charming staff as the sight on the island Elephantine!

The Legendary Hotel (Original Venue Death on the Nile) is a must-visit for you while in Aswan. You can drive to the hotel with a Felukkenfahrt (best half an hour before sunset) and from the Nile on a staircase. Can be combined well with the Nubian Museum (around the corner).

A dream ! Beauty and elegance itself, in the midst of a unique setting of rare beauty.
Perfect staff, kind, not obsequious.
When we have passed through the Old Cataract, we have only one desire: to see it again as soon as possible.

We didn t stay here, only went to the bar to get drinks. But as non-guest, you cannot even enter the premises, they made us wait outside, until somebody from the hotel gets us, and explained to us that there is a minimum spend of 200EGP per person, 1 drink here is over 200EGP anyways so that s not a problem. Just wish that we could go to the hotel and be explained this right away instead of having to wait outside for a while, felt very uninviting and not welcomed. The view was good but not spectacular, a lot of things in the way. Drinks are good but not very strong, I wonder whether they put any alcohol at all!

The best you can find in Aswan. The gym is a bit on the meager end, but it's not what you're in Aswan for. Soak up the view, step back in time, enjoy the weather (come only in the winter) and relax. It's the perfect city and hotel for a 3 day getaway.

It s a very nice hotel with long time history located at the Nile side. The room with the Nike view is spectacular. The food of French restaurant is tasty and delicious. The supply of amenities is not consistent, otherwise it s a very good hotel.

We were not able to walk through the hotel and see the views of the Nile ... We only went to the reception, because they have at least 300 pounds entrance to the territory and you can order food or drinks for this amount.

We only visited for cocktails and dinner and found it to be a lovely setting. The old building has been renovated very, very well and is stylish yet in keeping with it s past.

The food is good and the service ok. A little overbearing perhaps, and I didn t like the way the restaurant manager seemed to pocket the tip I left for the waiter.

The sunset is nice, but top tip is to go to the back of Elephantine Island, opposite the Aga Khan mausoleum. You will find a small beach and some rocks. Sit on the rocks and watch an amazing sunset without the $20 cocktail! First two photos taken from there.
