Alessandro Cutelli Review of Sofitel Old Cataract, Aswan

Historical hotel in the late nineteenth century in the English colonial style, decorated with Art Deco motifs and furnishings renovated with good taste. The historic building was the site of filming of the movie "Death on the Nile" from the novel by Agatha Christi. Also among the guests of this hotel include Winston Churchill, Khedive Abbas Helmi Pasha, Lord and Lady Cromer, and Aga Khan III who stayed there regularly during the winter months.
Next to the historical site the hotel has been extended with a new modern sleeve that incorporates the colors and design of the original block balconies, and connects to it with a pleasant terraced garden and swimming pool overlooking the Nile.
It is advisable to book, even for a lunch at the restaurant remains the best in the area.
L 'atmosphere and attention to detail blend with the friendly service of the staff.
