Nice quiet hotel. Worth a visit, even if you do not stay overnight. Unfortunately, it is now difficult to get into it. One is often rejected, if one is not a guest. During a Niltour a trip with taxi dared to go there. More

Very beautiful place full of history with a splendid view of the Nile and elephantine island at the bar and bistro ... However, prefer to have dinner there than to have a drink !!!
Horrible for two nights, in front of the hotel which is however magnificent, the Baath Party is broadcasting music through loudspeakers, propaganda, impossible to sleep! Stay wasted and this palace will lose customers if this continues! Too bad because the establishment is one of the most beautiful in the world and the service impeccable! Please note that the price of foreign wines is exorbitant with taxes (246.- a bottle of Merlo sold 14.- from us).
There it is 1:36 am and impossible to sleep on the garden side (take a room overlooking the Nile next time)
Horrible end of vacation because of these two nights!
We LOVED our stay at the Old Cataract! Five star all the way around. The reception manager and Islam, a reception specialist, were especially helpful in ensuring that we had an exceptional stay! Everything was perfect; we can t wait to return.
It's very expensive and probably not quite worth it to most people (which I why it isn't a 5 star rating from me). However, if you're willing to splash out this is a great restraunt and bar. Note: dress code for men is jackets and smart casual or above.
The have a great wine selection, generally very good menu (although extremely limited, only two dishes;risotto and mixed roast vegetables, for vegetarians). The service was impeccable. The highlight was likely the ambiance and building itself, it felt grand and a bit over the top but very pleasant. They also had a good pianist playing. Also as other reviews noted, it was quite empty when we booked, 7pm, but started to see more business around 8:30.
Legendary and enchanting hotel at the Katerakt. Takes a little something to get in (300 pounds per person) what you can spend on drinks. The sunset on the terrace is worth every pound! An unmissable place in Aswan.
Very nice historical place. Great view. Accessible after purchasing a consumption voucher worth 300 AgtPounds. There was canned beer and quite average cocktails with friendly, fast service. Prices on the card plus 12%. It's on the menu. That tax comes up again, the waiter only issues a receipt on request and he rounds up again freehand is bold. The staff urgently recommended a tour of Agatha Christie's alleged room. The film world almost agrees that they wrote the manuscript in the Winter Palace in Luxor. With the insistence of his demand for a fee that was never sufficient, the boy would have done every trader in the market a credit. We left this beautiful place with mixed feelings.
One of the most beautiful hotels I ve ever stayed in. The location is stunning. Walking into this hotel is like stepping into a dream of Egypt. The service was excellent in all areas of the hotel. The food at the hotel s Egyptian restaurant was excellent while the staff were very helpful with food allergies. If you re in Aswan you must visit, if not stay at the Old Cataract hotel.
had great 1 night here in your lovely hotel..next time i will book all of my days there.the staff is very professional, straight to the point, great service at the reception, room service, concierge. the rooms look great too, clean and well conditioned.next time for sure
Has its own ambiance and classic charm. Picture Agatha Christie penning Death on the Nile here. The little man known and loved by all Agatha's fans Hercule Poirot having his tea.
A great location and a place with a historical character Excellent service .... But booking by telephone is very difficult. Mafesh Quick reply and if there is no response, the call is not delivered to the specialist from the booking.
Such a disappointment. The service is very slow. We waited 2 hours for our babies fruit to come. Our food was tasteless and it s such a shame because the food outside of the hotel is so good. The rooms were not cleaned and we had to get new sheets after being given dirty ones. I am surprised they call this a 5 star hotel. I will not stay again and don t recommend it.
The place is crazy and very high. The hotel is a place between luxury, simplicity and beauty. I strongly advise anyone visiting Aswan that it is necessary for the Old Hotel as a quarry and the service there is excellent. Da, however, the hard of all people there are treated in the utmost taste from the first reception of restaurants to every place in the hotel ..
My friend and I wanted to have dinner at Cataract while enjoying the view there. To start with, they wouldn t let us in, said we should pay 300 EGP as entry fees , and when we asked what did the 300 pounds include, the security said he will get someone to answer our questions. We kept standing at the gate and eventually we left and no one came.
A luxurious cultural heritage ... imposed called Al-Ateeq ... witnessed the presence of the heads of the world and is still the meeting place of summits and summit. And currently it has been secured from the civil side and its walls raised.
Very well kept historical hotel, highly recommended for relaxation Quiet rooms and courteous restaurant staff, I found myself very well looked after Also food is super delicious, top kitchen which can fulfill every wish
This place almost lives up to it's name (a legend). If you will visit the area one time only, then this is where you should stay. Where do I start? This is where royalty stayed back in the days when they visited. Lots of spots to hangout and enjoy the views of the river and of the ancient ruins right across++. The spa is nice. I prefer the new building rather than the old palace building for the terraces and the views from higher up. Service is friendly and excellent. The rooms (suites really) are large and very well appointed. You can take boats from the hotel's pier to transport you to various attractions or the river, or just tour. Highly recommended.
The service is great, the moment you enter you feel like a royal personal, the food is great but needs some more options the burger was amazing and the drinks are good The prices are kinda of high, like really high But it's deserved for the place , service and view Would visit again of course
This is an exceptional hotel that should be highly rated. The service of each department from arrival to departure is exceptionally detailed with confidance and pleasure. Smiling staff that is designed to make your stay comfortable and pleasurable. Each question that was asked and answered with complete assurance and knowledge and beyond. Rooms were meticulously serviced.the amenities were perfectly chosen. The view is beyond belief. Absolutely delightful stay and I recommended highly .
those reviews aren't exaggerated! this place will exceed your expectations, putting care into the smallest details is what impressed me the most. definitely recommend!
Mythical hotel having kept its old charm with the comfort of our days. Its incredible location on the edge of the Wild Nile, the warmth and exceptional service of the staff make it a magical place.
This what I call a fancy historic hotel. It is expensive but perfect very unforgettable and unique staying. It is the hotel that inspired Agatha Christie to write her famous novel (Death on the Nile). Highly recommended as being the number one hotel in Aswan.
It is the best luxurious hotel in aswan. Only if you are a guest there. But if you just need to have a drink or so. They put a very high minimum charge just to visit. Which is really annoying . Treatment is very rudebon that matter
