Nice rooms. Very comfortable bed. Pillow menu. Charged for nearly all English cable channels, yet an over supply of free Arab channels. Disappointing. Excellent dinner, lunch and breakfast buffets. Friendly competent staff.

Always a pleasure coming here. Staff are very friendly and efficient. Can't find any fault or flaws in this place. Shows good management in place as it really creates good impression and customer wanting to come back. Highly recommended.

When we arrived the escalator from railway concourse to the Sofitel lobby wasn't working. My partner unable to ascend such steep stairs so we had to rely on the friendly services of Qld. Rail staff.
This lady contacted Sofitel lobby staff by walkie-talkie and arranged for us to get the service lift to the lobby.
We had to wait a full fifteen minutes for this to happen.
Can I suggest a notice be placed near the broken escalator advising disabled people to ring the lobby staff to arrange the service lift.
Incidentally - Why has the escalator not been repaired? Informed by staff it hasn't operated for 3 WEEKS.

A good hotel located right above the central station Brisbane. Easy parking with street parking, large public car park across the road and of course hotel valet. We often come here for the seafood buffet and functions. This hotel has multiple function rooms that can be converted to a large room to host few hundred people.

The Sofitel Hotel Brisbane was one of my favourite...

The Sofitel Hotel Brisbane was one of my favourite places to stay and dine in Brisbane. The staff are first class, from the bars to the restaurants and house keeping, excellent, it would be very difficult to find better and remember their not working for tips. However the quality and variety of the Thyne Restaurant's Buffet has steadly declined over the last year or so. Also, on last two occasions I have stayed at The Sofitel Hotel Brisbane, I have had great difficulty being reimbursed for the so called security fee they insist on taking, without authorisation. I was until recently a member of their Accor Club, who manage many brands of upmarket Hotels around the world. For this service you pay a fee and receive members benifits regarding hotel accommodation & dining. They have your full details, name, address, date of birth, credit card details etc., as you would expect. I can't understand why they insist on taking money from your credit card account, when they're specifically been told not to. They have your credit card details on record, so any monies outstanding can then be deleted, if required. Two stays back, it took me 6 weeks, yes 6 weeks and many phone calls, for Sofitel Brisbane to return my money to my bank account. On my most recent stay, I advised the lady on reception check-in of this fact and she said it should only take 2 days to be refund. I told her it wasn't about the money it was the principal of the matter and I did not want any money, not one cent, to be taken from my account. I stressed to her the fact, that as an Accor Member, I pay hundreds of dollars a year for the privilege of this status and they had my full details there on record. This message obviously fell on deaf ears, as sure enough on checking my bank balance the following day, Sofitel had again taken a fee, strictly against my instructions. And to add insult to injury, I also incurred a $1.30 transaction fee. After many phone calls to both my bank and Sofitel, (who were way less than honest with me) it took from the 19th of December to the 2nd of January to have my money's return to my bank account. I believe the Accor Group manage something like 28000 hotels around the world. Not a bad little earn on the short term money market is it ??? Withholding guests monies without authorisation. I have no problem with hotels taking your credit card details for security reasons, eg. leaving without paying for accommodation, food, drinks, room service etc. But I do have a major problem with Hotels automatically taking a fee on check-in, without informing the guest of this practice. (which I would imagine would be illegal). Anyhow after many years of a happy relationship, regrettably it seems I have parted company with the Sofitel Brisbane. My advice to all travelers and Hotel guests, on check-in, insist no monies are to be taken from your credit card account without your authorisation and on checking out, check the bill twice and within 24hrs check your bank account. Good luck to all, Jack Kelly.

A special evening for a birthday celebration with a table with a view. Really good seafood and reasonably priced using our accor two for one privileges. Our waiter Samuel was most helpful and must be commended. He even presented the birthday boy with a small box of chocolates. Only down side was it was so busy it took a while for the plates to be cleared.

Located in Brisbane CBD which is perfect. Room is modern, roomy and clean. Thyme restaurant offers one of the yummiest and variety buffet. Complimentary drinks and wifi makes the hotel one of the best featured. Have I mentioned the heated outdoor swimming pool yet?

The buffet breakast was good. There is a very good selection of foods to eat. My favourite part of the buffet is the interactive omelette station. The facilities are not very good for prams or people who are disabled. It is almost impossible to push your pram or wheel chair through three heavy toilet doors to get to the change area/disabled toilet.

Just finished our dinner here, to end on a good note for our stay in Brisbane. However all 4 of us were unfortunately dissapointed.
The staff and restaurant was lovely although...The hot food was below luke warm for about 30 minutes, it was changed later on as we were leaving. The quality of food was low, looked lovely but pasta, salad etc were dry and tasted refrigerated. Deserts were overly sugary and rich, mostly kind of small macaron bites, would have liked more variation. Would have been a more pleasant, worthwhile experience if the food was of greater quality, free water & coffee and made to order options (which was expected at this price calibre). Also if the wait staff advised that there was a $5.50 charge for what we thought was tap water. $16.50 for 3 jugs of water with a dissapointing 4 pax buffet, costing ~$320 is hard to digest. Have been to many buffets but im sad to say this was as dissapointing as it was expensive.

The new year eve dinner was very nice and great value for money. The alcohol that was included in the package was surprisingly nice. The service was very good and I would recommend this to anyone who wants to do it this year. Do it it is worth it.
