Skin Specialists, PC Review

Terrible! I went there for laser because I have stretch marks. I paid $90 bucks for 10 minutes of his time just so he can tell me that he could not do it. Then he had this old ninny in the room with us. I don't know why. Well he asked her if she took a look at my skin she lied and said yes. Well when he lifted my shirt to look at my tigers stripes she got the most DISGUSTED look on her face. Made me feel 2 inches tall! He explained since I was African American I could not do it. Well he could of told me that at the door and I could of saved myself $90 bucks. DON'T GO HERE THEY TAKE YOUR MONEY AND YOU GET NOTHING OUT OF IT!!!!!

Overall great experience! Dr. Schlessinger is pretty awesome and staff is super friendly. I didn't shop around for pricing so I don't know how they are in comparison... I think the price is just fine for the results I get and I didn't want it done cheap, I wanted it done right. They are great about telling me when the specials are so I can take advantage. They make me feel comfortable and answer all my questions. Only place I'll go to.

If I could give zero stars, I would. What a joke!! I have a Cadillac plan for insurance and almost everything, according to the insurance rep, was covered. The billing/receptionist insisted I owed money for things that my plan did not cover. In reality, the billing department coded things incorrectly. My insurance rep told me to have the doctors office call them to clear it up. The doctors office refused and insisted I pay them. I refused, walked out without treatment, and will be seeing a new doctor. Deplorable!

From the moment I entered Skin Specialists, I felt a true sense of welcome, compassion and warmth. The front desk staff was so accommodating, courteous and professional. Their smiles and service showed true evidence that they love what they are doing. The nursing staff and Dr. Schlessinger exceeded all expectations I had for this visit. It was very apparent that while they provide excellent professional services, the entire staff is adamant making patients comfortable, relaxed and important. Thank you again for all you do!!!

5 stars is hardly comparable to the rating Dr. Schlessinger and his team deserve. Every time I go in for my appointments, I leave happier than when I walked in, even after having moles removed! That's because Dr. Schlessinger and his staff are incredibly welcoming and engaging. In my experience, it's rare to find that kind of welcoming environment, not only from the Dr., but the entire staff as well. My only complaint is that I can't see him for my every single health concern I have!

I can t express how wonderful Dr. Schlessinger and his entire team are at making you feel beautiful. They all are very courteous and professional. Dr Schlessinger is a true artist with an eye for knowing exactly how to make you look your best. I made the mistake of going to another practitioner for a slightly lower price that was not a physician and was left extremely disappointed. I totally trust Dr. Schlessinger's opinion and expertise and I can t imagine trusting anyone else with my face. I get compliments on how young and fresh I look all the time with the curiosity of what is my secret. I highly recommend Dr Schlessinger and his team if you want beautiful results without anyone knowing or being able to tell what you have had done. He is the best.

Had a 7:45 am appointment and waited until 8:50 until the doctor came in. You could hear him going to all the other patient's rooms which was frustrating because I had come in before them. They needed to do a blood draw and I get a call after I am home saying they need to redraw it because they didn't draw two tubes. Asked them to send my lab order to my PCP whose laboratory can do the blood tests they wanted and they refused. I'm not wasting another hour of my life to go to this office. Got a call from my insurance and I was billed incorretcly. Would not reccomend. Complete waste of time. Receptionsits are hit and miss. One was pleasant but the other was very rude. Made me late to work because my appointment lasted until 9 which was so ridculous with the time they had me waiting in a freezing room in a hospital gown.

I trust nobody with my skin & skin issues more than the staff at Skin Specialists. I'm a huge fan of Botox & love it! But more importantly, Dr. Schlessinger & his staff have managed my skin checks and bouts of skin cancer, mole & skin tag removal for a number of years. I truly cannot stress enough how grateful I am to have these friendly and knowledgeable people on my side. I have zero complaints & have no plans of going anywhere else. For any doubters out there - ask for free samples. You will see. TWO THUMBS UP!

Highly reccommend finding a different office for any dermatology needs. If you care at all about service, this isn't the place for you. My most recent terrible experience with this incompetent staff was when they messed up and didn't send in my prescription after a visit. When I ran out and went to get a refill, the pharmacy told me it was denied so I called the office and they told me I had to come in again to see them before I could get a refill. I get in, wait for almost 45 mins for them to figure out that they messed up and I didn't need to come in so they gave me a refill prescription and didn't have me see a doctor. Then when this prescription runs up shortly after, I try to refill and they say I have to go in again to see a doctor but they never set up a check up visit with me so I have to call to get in just for them to charge me $35 and tell me to keep taking the medication I was. After countless visits, I'm right back where I started and their response..."we're sorry". There is a reason why their rating is what it is. Save yourself the trouble and go somewhere else!!

I developed a rapidly growing skin lesion on my forehead. I was a bit concerned because my father had developed skin cancer. I am fair skinned. When the lesion began to bleed, I immediately researched skin specialists in Omaha. Dr. Schlessinger and Skin Specialists PC was clearly the best choice. I called and spoke with the receptionist, who was very friendly and professional. I explained my situation and she scheduled me to see Dr. Schlessinger and the staff at Skin Specialists PC a few days later. When I arrived for my appointment, I was a bit nervous. I was taken to an exam room after only a very brief time in the waiting room. The staff were very friendly, kind, and professional. I was seen very promptly in the exam room and a very thorough exam was performed. Additional lesions were found as well as another condition. The procedures were very clearly explained to me and were able to be done that day. The lesions were removed, with different ones needing different procedures. The staff were so very competent and skilled in their care of me. It is clear to me that they are all very knowledgeable, well trained, and experts in this field. I can't thank them enough or say enough good things about the excellent care that I received and about how kind and friendly they all were to me.

I absolutely LOVE Skin Specialists and Dr Schlessinger. I have never had a long wait time in the lobby or in the patient rooms. He has always been available during the appointment for as long as I need him to be, answering questions and making sure I'm doing well. He also discovered Basal Cell Carcinoma that another derm had missed (a spot I was concerned about, but the first derm dismissed..Dr S biopsied it and found cancer!). When he removed the Basal cell carcinoma, he was thorough and got rid of all of it, but ALSO cared about what it would look like when he was done - which I absolutely appreciate because the spot was on my nose, smack in the center of my face. I highly doubt any other derm in the area would have done as awesome a job, you can barely tell there's a scar! The staff is friendly and helpful. I highly recommend Skin Specialists and Dr S!

Dr. Schlessinger and his team are absolutely wonderful. They were so kind and helpful. I had a lot of questions about different options and the process of the injections and they were so patient and caring with me! They were honest and extremely thorough and treated me with utmost respect. They took extra time to make sure I had all of the information I needed. The actual treatment was smooth and easy and I am absolutely thrilled with the results already. I would recommend Dr. Schlessinger and his team/associates to all of the special friends and family in my life - because they are truly that wonderful.

I highly recommend this medical facility. It is well designed, efficient, and inviting. Wait time is minimal. Natural light permeates the facility due to paint colors and many windows including clerestories. The stand-alone building appears clean, crisp, and inviting with the white exterior & blue accents. Plus, the ease of parking under the building & the elevator is an advantage. The reception staff are friendly. Reception area provides literature, TV, refreshments, and comfortable seating. The atmosphere is calm.
The Physicians Assistant and nursing staff are efficient & skilled (as expected in an office of this quality) and they are patient with all my questions! It is a well organized medical practice that places the patients' care & comfort first. It is exceptional in my opinion.

The staff and doctors here are wonderful! It is very professional atmosphere and I have great confidence in the expertise of everyone here.

The doctors and nursing staff were fantastic to my daughter, but the supposed office manager and receptionist desks are horrible and have no idea what customer service is. When confirming my child's appt at no time was it explained that 100% of the office visit had to be paid at the time of check-in. Therefore when we arrived, I was pretty much forced to pay them 100% and told I could just call and request a refund for the overpayment. It took 2 attempts and nearly 3 months since her office visit to get $20.58 back. I was told that they review refunds on a quarterly basis and when I asked her to issue the refund immediately she offered for me to come and pick it up. I asked for an office manager and she refused and told me although I was asking for a call back, my concerns which were nothing to her, would be sent on.

I took my 14 year daughter in for issues related to acne. We had gone to another dermatologist in Council Bluffs for the same issue and had good success but wanted to see if there was anything different that could be done for her. The staff from check in to dismissal did a great job treating Abby with respect and treated her as the patient. They spoke directly to her and really tried to get to know her and make her feel comfortable. Jackie and her staff make Abby feel at ease with what is often a difficult subject. We discussed the treatment options and they did not try to talk me into spending a ton of money on anything. We will definitely be back for follow up. We really appreciate the great customer service.

Dr. Schlessinger , his PA Jackie and all of his staff are friendly and professional. My experiences with my treatments, over the many years I've gone to the office, have been excellent! I would definitely recommend this office to my family and friends!

Annoying thing is that they don t have an online payment option (in 2019) and are so cheap they don t even pay for postage to send the payment by mail.

Words cannot describe how amazing Dr. Schlessinger and the entire Lovely Skin team are. I've been going to them for about a year now and my skin has truly never looked so amazing. They take sincere consideration into you as a person and the uniqueness of the conditions that may be affecting your skin. The staff is always so pleasant, timely, and willing to listen. They do an excellent job explaining the regimine they recommend for you and ensuring you understand the science behind having *lovely skin*. I also use their Lovely Skin line and it has done wonders for my skin. I never once felt pressure from the start to purchase their products. I have struggled with acne for years, and have tried everything from ProActive to accutane with no avail. Their cleansing line and prescribed topical/medications have made my skin absolutely flawless. People comment all the time that I have wonderful skin and I tell them that I have a very very good dermatologist!
To emphasize how great Dr. Schlessinger is, I have even recommended him to my friends and family. I have nothing but great things to say about the entire organization. I don't think I will ever be able to leave Omaha, solely because I never want to leave Lovely Skin! 10/10 recommend!

So often people share negative reviews on social media and rarely do people take time to share positive experiences so I wanted to share mine. I moved to Omaha a little over a year ago and needed to find a good and thorough dermatologist for regular skin screenings. After having a marginal experience with another dermatologist in town I decided to do my research before visiting another one. I ultimately decided to schedule an appointment with Dr. Schlessinger at Skin Specialists, P.C. and I am so glad I did. The staff greeted me in a warm and friendly manner, the office was super nice and clean and Dr. Schlessinger was personable, took his time with me and checked on several things that concerned me. I was so pleased that he dealt with a number of issues and didn't ask me to reschedule to address the others. What really pleased me about my experience with Dr. Schlessinger was that he treated me with a minor procedure while I was there. Many physicians have back-to-back appointments so they make you schedule another appointment for additional treatments and charge you for additional office visits. In my case, that did not happen and I was so pleased with my time with Dr. Schlessinger and my treatment. I am happy to say I have found a dermatologist in Omaha that I am happy with and will continue to see for my treatments moving forward. In short, if you re searching for a great dermatologist, I recommend you give Dr. Schlessinger a try.

What a wonderful experience I had at Skin Specialists on Oak View Mall Dr. From the first phone call to check to see if my insurance was accepted to my last appointment when my treatment was complete was great. Dr. Joel Schlessinger and his entire staff worked with me to make sure we could work together to make me comfortable. Check out the website. There is so much info, I knew I was making the right decision about booking an appointment. I had a bad visit with a different Dermatologist, so I was dubious at best. Do yourself a favor and come see Dr. Joel Schlessinger at Skin Specialists-you won't regret it. I'm sure glad I did!

This is the best dermatology clinic I ve ever been to. They work very hard to help you with all of your concerns and they treat you very well. Definitely recommend!

Totally disappointed. I heard many good things about this clinic. This Dr was in my network. But not trusty about payments. I was forced to pay the Dr visit and I was covered by my insurance. I paid $170. Received my insurance claim and discovered that not just I didn't have to pay the $170 at front, the contract that they have with my insurance it was less money. Is not responsibility of the clinic to know about your deductible or not that is the job of the Insurance Company as I was informed by the Insurance Agent. I am waiting for a refund and I WILL NOT GOING BACK!!!

I have been going to Skin Specialists for almost 20 years. I have been in many different studies and taken a variety of medications for Psoriasis. The entire staff have been great even when some have left and others have taken their spot. The wait time is short, they are always helpful, they are constant professionals, and always willing to listen. I never dread going to their office for treatment.

I ve had psoriasis most of my life. Every dermatologist I had been to seemed to only see me has having dry skin, gave me the first cream or medicine they could think of and got me out of their office as soon as possible. Psoriasis is an auto-immune disease that impacts much more than your skin. The staff at Skin Specialists were the first to really care and understand how my psoriasis was impacting my quality of life. They talked through different treatments, benefits, risks, and we decided on a plan that would work for me. I just went in for my three month follow-up. One of the lovey nurses asked me how my spots were and I said What spots? I m almost 99% clear and my psoriatic arthritis symptoms are almost not existent. The staff at Skin Specialists were genuinely happy for me. They have always been so supportive. Any time I come in or call, I m treated like a rock star. It s great to finally have an amazing team backing me up and helping with my psoriasis. Thank you Skin Specialists for seeing beyond my red, scaley skin and seeing a person who needed to feel better. You changed my life.

I had a wonderful experience at Dr. Schlessinger's office. The staff were wonderful and very supportive. Everything was explained in detail. They made me feel very comfortable. Dr. Schlessinger did a great job. I recommend him and his team for anyone wanting dermatology or cosmetic work done.

They act as if this Dermatologist is some sort of Celeb...I was asked if I wanted to "see," him. Well duh, I thought that was my reason for coming , but I guess they just let the practitioner deal with acne prone skin clients. He came in for a good 3 mins....no lie, and just repeated what the practitioner had said. They will definitely make sure to sell you their lovely skin skin care products. They never offered me any samples nor did they give me any instructions on how or when to use the products like past dermatologist have in the past.
I asked was there a patient plan and she just wrote things down on a sticky note. Like really guys, that was not clear at all and I was told to use their products before the prescribed medication, but when I switched it around, it seemed to work better. The only product I liked was the face wash period. They didn't tell me what kind of SPF I should use for my skin, being an African American, or anything and I am still having the same breakouts and nothing has change. It seems to have gotten worse.

Easy, quick way to get RX strength skin care products. Friendly staff, too. Thanks, guys!

Without sharing my long story;
At 23 I experienced the worst acne breakout I had ever had. I was going to a different dermatologist who just kept switching topicals on me. Nothing was clearing my skin.
I had heard about Dr. Schlessinger through a friend. My first visit Dr knew immediately what to do.
Overall, the staff has been wonderful. They greet you with a smile. They work tremendously with insurance. They are able to answer any and all questions about your plan of treatment to what face wash you should use. Dr, the PA s, and the nurses all genuinely care for you and your treatment. I believe they truly want the best for their patients.

I've been seeing Dr. Schlessinger for many years and I've never had a bad experience. His staff are always friendly and extremely helpful. Dr. Schlessinger is the best and has a great sense of humor!

If you have acne they're probably just going to put you on antibiotics indefinitely.

Dr Schlessinger and Jackie Hall are AMAZING!!!! It is so easy to clearly see that they truly care about my well-being. Skin problems are embarrassing but they have NEVER made me feel ashamed or embarrassed. I have referred numerous people to Skin Specialist and have only heard positive feedback from each one. Stop worrying and start feeling confident about how you look!!! :)

Before coming in for my visit, I was trying to get in everywhere. I called 4 specialists prior and no one even took the time to offer to put me on a potential callback list if a cancellation had come up. But Skin Specialists PC did! They also made sure I got an appointment set up. The service I received before coming in was more than exceptional. I've never had a more pleasant and helpful service when trying to make an appointment. I don't remember the young lady's name, but she was very kind with the process. She even informed me that Dr. Schlessinger would be out of town and an assistant would be seeing me. That was reassuring to know who I was seeing before my visit.
When I got the the office, I was very nervous. I went to a Primary doctor prior who was unsuccessful with providing me with information and it had my family and I worried. After filling out the forms for my first visit, I was seen in moments. I didn't have a long wait time in the lobby and once in my room, we got right to the point of finding out what was going on. Photos were taken, information was jotted down. Standard, I'm assuming, but it was nice to know that they were listening to me when I was explaining what was going on. In less than 10 minutes they had an idea of what was going on which was more than helpful. I was relieved that they had a better answer than an "I don't know" which is what I was getting before. FINALLY! An answer! I was prescribed some prescriptions and given information that was helpful. The only thing that would have been a little more beneficial, but not at all an issue, was I would have liked to have more information on what the condition was. I was given a name of a diagnosis, and the prescriptions. I ended up having to look up the information on the diagnosis myself, but it wasn't a deal breaker. i was just happy that I had information.

All in all, I had great customer service, the appointment time is less than a week, my wait time was short and in minutes I had some answers. I would definitely recommend Skin Specialists PC to friends, family, and colleagues. And I definitely will be back in the future.

I've been going to Dr. Schlessinger for about 10 years for yearly mole checks and now 6 month mole checks. He is the only Dr. I trust to go to for my mole checks. Dr. Schlessinger and Jackie Hall have caught 8 dysplastic moles and taken them off with minimal scarring. Three of them were severely dysplastic. They caught them and treated with wide local excision. They take the time to check me over every 6 months and I usually have both of them look which gives me the assurance of 2 sets of eyes. They have also educated me about my high risk and what to look for myself and give me a print out of my biopsy when asked. I am high risk to have melanoma and Dr. Schlessinger is the only Dr. I trust to help me prevent melanoma.

Highly Recommended. Very professional and thorough evaluation. As a first time client, I was put at ease with their explanation of steps, multiple assistance perspective as well as Dr. Schlessinger professional evaluation to top it all off. I felt like a team was working for me and had my best interest in mind.

Love my results! I worked 13 years outside as an asphalt and concrete contractor and I was always squinting because of the heat or sun.
Dr. Schlessinger and Dysport have came to the rescue to help me age gracefully! I also tried Volbella to help accentuate my lips and it was a great enhancement! I was very worried because I have heard horror stories of how painful it could be but my experience was much different! It really wasn t uncomfortable at all! This just goes to prove that having such an experienced doctor will make all the difference in the world! Overall I highly recommend Skin Specialists, they took so much time to answer all of my questions, the staff was super friendly and I REALLY trust Dr Schlessinger to give me beautiful results. I did a ton of research when it came to choosing this office and I m so glad I did! I travel over 2 hours to this office to receive ethical, professional results. Also do t forget to stop by their store next door, they have so many goodies!

I have a family history of skin cancer and have trusted Dr. Schlessinger and his awesome staff with my care for a while now. They always take the time to discuss any concerns I might have, such as my skin care regimen. I am very satisfied with my results and would highly recommend this practice for any skin care needs!

Dr. Schlessinger is brilliant at diagnosing and correcting concerns. He not only stays on top of current "trends", he also works independently to create new solutions. I get great per-treatment consultations and always feel like my concerns are completely understood, and better yet-- completely corrected. The office girls are always helpful and wonderful- and after my visit with Dr S. I get pampered with makeup touch-ups prior to leaving : )

My appointment was for 8:45am, I arrived 15 minutes early, had a wonderful cup of coffee and was already being seen by an outstanding staff member by 8:35am. This was a 90 day recurring checkup appointment to stay ahead of my skin cancer which was caused by a miss-spent childhood of years of basking in the sun, because everyone thought it was good for you. How wrong can we be? Now, my back, scalp, and face have to be treated regularly just to stay ahead of the resulting cancer caused by years of exposure to the sun. Dr. Schlessinger and his staff of professionals are keeping me alive, and as healthy as I can be, to enjoy my family and the active life I choose to live. For this appointment/checkup I also had to have a biopsy on my right ear, sure hope it comes back negative, but I know that what ever the result, I will be in good hands to make it better. I was in and out of the office in under an hour. To Skin Specialists PC, I thank you for taking good care of me.

I've been a patient of Skin Specialists for 10 years. Dr. Schlessinger and his team are the best. I do an annual skin check there and they found a spot, did a biopsy, and it was positive for cancer. i would have never thought that spot was anything to worry about, but i'm glad they caught it. Dr. Schlessinger did Mohs Surgery to remove it and after one week, I could barely tell where they removed it (and i had 7 stitches!). They are amazing! Their spa side team is incredible as well. I would recommend Skin Specialists and Lovely Skin for anything that you do. You can trust them to fix your skin!

I am so happy with my treatment and results at Skin Specialists. Dr. Schlessinger has exceptional skill, vision and experience. Staff are helpful, respectful and committed to patient comfort and privacy. All my questions were answered, procedures explained and cost given prior to treatment. The doctors and staff are extremely friendly and do a great job of explaining every step of the process to you. They always make my visits very enjoyable.

I only gave it a one star so I can write this review to make you all aware this the absolute worst place to go to. Wasted my time driving all the way from Lincoln to Omaha and then ending up with Not getting what I wanted. Absolutely ridiculous and big waste of my time the doctor looks like he doesn t know anything about lip injections and is very judgmental. What s the point when you go into somewhere in the person tells you they can t do it. So what the hell are you doing.Do not go here you will have to wait for the longest time.
