Love this theater! Just got a membership because I plan to go often. I love that they show thought provoking movies and they have some great business practices like providing composting and recycling receptacles and selling locally made art and snacks.
Film Streams is a lovely venue for watching independent films. There always seems to be something interesting playing. The seating is stadium-style, so all seats allow for a good view. If you become a member, you recieve a discount on both movie tickets and snacks. Check it out if you are looking for thoughtful, well-crafted films!

I went there tonight for the showing of The Nightingale. I absolutely loved the movie and the theater! It's my first time going and it was all really awesome. :)

This is the best place to see a movie in Omaha! The staff are friendly and knowledgeable and care about the theater. It's always clean. They have great snack and drink options. They have many volunteer opportunities which is a great way to get free movie passes.

Filmstreams is our city's gem of cinemas. Always great movies, documentaries, and discussion on films. If you want sheer entertainment you may not want to come here... thoughtful entertainment... Unique experiences... Absolutely.
Loved the vibe of this theater. And it's a non-for-profit, which is exceptional. I also like the fact the movies they show here are independent gems. Documentaries, inde films, special interest films..etc. I had wondered where I could see these types of films I love watching on netflix, on the big screen in Omaha..and I found it at Film Streams.
Definitely a place for movie lovers who appreciate independent movies!
If you're looking to watch indie or foreign films this is the place to go. One of my favorite things about this theatre is that they play an array of diverse films and even have panelists who come and talk about the film. I love that they have free movie Mondays every month and they have student nights if you have a student ID. I'm really happy there's a place like Film Streams in town and also a newly opened theatre in the Dundee neighborhood!

Film Streams consistently brings in quality pictures that other theaters in the area ignore. They have comfortable seats and delicious snacks (beer, wine, soda, popcorn etc...). Their listings are a bit easy to overlook, so check their website often to see what you are missing at other theaters.
The "Ruth" is one of the finest arthouse theaters in Omaha, Nebraska. Equally charming and inviting is the new Dundee Theater. Both part of Film Streams and feature two theatres in each. The Kitchen Table in the Dundee Theater is a restaurant that compliments the experience of the theater patrons.
First time we've been there for a movie and was quite nice. Good atmosphere with real adults running things! Will go back.
Small theater featuring artsy/independent films. Comfy seats, good popcorn and nice beer selection. I am glad to have a theater offering harder to find movies in Omaha.

This is a wonderful business. Their discussions are always so thoughtful and their selection is that of the way I eat. At times the selection is new and provocative, but other times they offer classic comforts.
Cozy place to watch movies. We go to the Oscar nominated shorts every year.

The downtown location has always been a good bet for artistic films. But I can not wait for them to open in Dundee and see what they do there!
It took me awhile to finally get out and discover this theater and I'm sure now I will be going on a regular basis. The theater screen isn't the smallest i've seen for an independent/art house theater, but at least there is a place to see them on a big screen in Omaha.

The building is easy to find. The theater was nice & quaint, well kept and shows movies that you probably wouldn't see in other theaters. Very nice
We drove 2 hour to see a film at this theater and we loved this place only thing is the door stated free parking in the back.
Great theater. Love the independent vibe it gives off as well as the unique films it shows. Unfortunately I don't live anywhere close to the theater so I don't get to make it down as often as I'd like but it's definitely a great place. Just recently saw Don't Think Twice there. Great flick and the service was top notch as usual. Definitely recommend!

One of the few local theaters that shows the Metropolitan Opera Live in HD broadcasts. Very clean place; I've never encountered sticky floors or gum under the seats. Only two screens, but this is to be expected of an Art house film theater. Selection of movies is limited to independent films, art films, Met Opera broadcasts, and showings of classic films, so if those interest you, this is a good theater. Concessions include standard Cinema fare as well as beer and wine. Only problem is that the parking lot is behind the building and is shared with serval other businesses, which can limit the number of parking spots.
Small place with one screen but very clean. Staff were very friendly and the concessions were decent. I would recommend checking the place out

Hipster Ravenclaw graduates go here to see art films; then they can walk downtown to any of the groovy bars for post-flic discussions over mixed drinks. If you want to feel like you're young and cool and smarter than the average person, go here to see movies about progressive social topics and enjoy. Not where I would go to see any of the Legos movies. I'd give it five stars if the inside of the theaters didn't feel like my uncle's basement.

Attended a special screening and came away impressed with the theater. Staff is friendly and the facilities are very clean!
The customer service is superb. They have great food/ drinks for your movie. The general price is $10 but it s cheaper for students and members. They have a lot of independent films which I can t find or see anywhere else which is amazing. I m so glad to have film streams in Omaha it always is a pleasure to attend a film here. Must try

This is a great theater that shows real movies. This isn't the place for summer blockbusters, but it is the place for award-winning films and even hearing directors and film makers discuss their work. The films shown here are both enjoyable and thought-provoking.
