Awesome place in London for High Tea. Food was great, staff very friendly. Staff were very accommodating of my 18month niece. Really nice ambience.

The Glade is not just a fancy place for eating well it is an experience of beauty.
I ve been there a while ago, and it left a lasting impression of enchantment that I wish to re-enact when next visiting London.
The cuisine is fine enough not many options, still covering several tastes and preferences and budgets, too. Service is very professional, if a bit impersonal and stiff.
The oneiric ambience and atmosphere are the unique features here, though. The changing lighting is a marvel of mystery and technology, making one feel under imaginary trees as the sun dances through their canopies agitated by a non existent breeze, creating gently moving shadows and pools of light. The irregular carpet, in different shades of green and thicker at places, together with the forested walls, bring the feeling of being in an orchard but that of a painting, not a real one; never an imitation, instead the remembrance and impressions of a garden.
Indeed, one feels momentarily living inside an impressionist painting, rather than walled in the back of a grand 18th-century townhouse.
Beautiful, uniquely beautiful.

I start off with this because it's confusing on the website, what room you are making your reservation for. Despite what room you are seated in, they allow you to walk around see all the rooms.

People say the food isn't good here, but my friend and I agreed that the Egg bennie were the best we've ever had!! Take your time here and soak in the experience and decor!

COOL place. Very interesting interiors, good food (but pricey) and unfortunately not very friendly service. I would recommend you to go there more for the atmosphere and interesting experience (especially with toilets :) )

Decent afternoon tea experience.


You can order as much tea as you please. My personal favourite was the vanilla black tea. For a wider variety of drinks options, you can ask for the cocktail and wine list.

Lived up to the hype. We did the tasting menu and wine flight. Amazing! Yes pricey, but overall experience made for a very special evening. Loved it.

OKAY! I do not have enough good things to say about Sketch! Our experience was delightful!!! The service is outstanding and so is there menu! Everything was delicious and I loved trying the various teas.

Make sure to make your reservation in advance because it does fill up. You will really love it!

As a new yorker visiting London I was expecting something decent from this place. Food was very below average. Beet salad was wierd gelatin, crudo was also wierd gelatin. We ordered bread for 6 people and they gave us three pieces and we had to ask and wait way too long for 6 pieces. It was just a bad restaurant. The service overall was OK but the food was honestly just not good. The fish was SUPER oily/buttery. It just was not good. Mash potatoes were good and so were the french fries but those are the easiest foods to make. I don't recommend this place. Go somewhere else and get better food, music and more fun vibe!

Unique and interesting idea of having 4 sections with totally different themes under one resturant name. Food & service were good. I tried fish & chips in the Parlour and veal in the Gallery and both taste good. Reservations is a must!

Tl;dr version: Service is bad even before we stepped in

We were turned away because our group of 8 was too large , even though we stated that we were fine to split into two groups of 4. The receptionist simply refused to even consider us, and then went on to admit the more than 8 people behind us because they were in several small groups? If this is crowd control, it doesn t make sense!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sketch has an amazing design and atmospheres create for each space, it's a full experience since you arrived. I would recommend for couple of cocktails with 3 bars inside definitely you will have fun. The staff was friendly and helpful. It's a pricy place but I think is totally worth it for the experience. I would recommend for a special occasion to come there to celebrate.

food was grossly overpriced and lacked flavor. To make matters worse my fiancee and I were stomach sick all the next day. The toilets are cool looking though.

This is a dining experience with a difference. As soon as you step into the building you get a wacky visual hit. This is so different from anywhere else I have eaten. The staff are top notch, friendly and helpful. The bar serves great cocktails in a trendy atmosphere. You are escorted through a dark and mysterious hallway to the dining areas, arriving at 2 very different dining rooms. I had lunch in the Glade restuarant. The decor is fantastic. I had a wonderful meal and enjoyed every mouthful. Great wine selection too! The toliets are a real talking point with all the customers and you are encouraged to use them, it's all part of your whole experience. I will definitely be returning to have the Afternoon Tea in the Parlour restuarant. I can't fault my visit in anyway, one of best dining experiences to date.

The gallery (pink room) was beautifully decorated. The Glade (forrest room) was a bit disappointing. Service was good. Coffee was terrible and the brunch OK. It was good to experience, but don't bit underwhelming with all the hype.

It was a birthday treat to visit Sketch for afternoon tea and I was a little worried about me out-of-place at such a nice establishment. I needn't have worried though, from the moment you walk in through the door the staff take care of you, you are escorted to the cloakroom and then onto the maitre'd's station before being taken to your table and from then on a staff member is always on hand to top up your tea, sandwiches, cakes, water and even champagne if your pocket stretches that far. As witnessed by the hundreds of posts on social media even the toilets are worth a visit. Don't miss out.

Breaks your wallet but you can poop like a king. Drinks are delicious and service is great, v nicely decorated, top class.

Not at all worth the hype. Food was average at best - tiny portions and wildly overpriced. The decor is trendy and that was about it.

I really do like what this place has to offer. The tropical inspired bar area is a great place for intimate dates or group of friends. It just offers something different. However it's become such a hot spot and therfore very hard to find a place to sit and have a drink. Suggest going on some off days. Pink restaurant is a good try as well

We turned up at Sketch and were waiting for a table but from the moment we spoke to the first employee of sketch (one of the door men), we had an awful and upsetting experience. He told us it would be a 45-60 minute wait which was fine and we said that was ok, however his colleague came to us 5 minutes later, made the effort to check inside and told us that a table would be ready for us in 5 minutes. He let us go inside and told us kindly to drop off our coats and take pictures inside. We were excited when we got inside and after dropping our coats off his other male colleague then told us our table was ready and go sit down as we were in the way. Nobody walked us to our table, all other customers were greeted nicely and walked to theirs. When seated, we all felt like we were not wanted there. None of the waitresses acknowledged us. We asked a lady about a few items on the menu due to halal dietary requirements - but she did not seem to want to help us. After waiting a long time another employee came to us and she was really helpful in explaining the items in the menu. She kindly took our order. The food was unsatisfactory and overated. Upon leaving 3 of us exited the premises and I wanted to go back inside to thank the door guy who was kind to us and helped us with a table, but the door man was really rude told us to move out of the way and made us feel inadequate. We are all professionals in respectable jobs to go to a reputable place like Sketch, we would expect to be treated with a little respect and a kinder manner. I would never recommend this pretentious place to anyone unless they want an upsetting experience in an otherwise perfect day.

Very original restaurant (the lounge) and bars. The food and service were great. I recommend everyone to go at least once.

My only slight criticism is that at those prices there should be more room between tables. I don't want to see someone's ass rubbing against my table when they try to get to their table.

I've been to The Glade at Sketch twice now. You have to book in advance otherwise risk waiting outside. Always beautifully decorated. Staff and service is the best. The food is excellent. You can choose either a 2 or 3 course. They have a lot to choose from, even have vegan dishes which I thought was great. They cater for all allergies on the day. Their drinks menu is very nice too, lots to choose from. I would highly recommend going.

Beautiful experience during our visit to London. This restaurant was something out of a fairy tale with the beautiful decor and incredible service. The other sketch restaurants within the building aside from the Laundry room had their own themes that became nothing short of an adventure after our 3 hour dinner.

The food itself was delicious (especially the incredibly tasty bread and caramel butter), along with the wine pairing.

In total, it was about $930 Canadian Dollars with wine pairing and gratuities included for 2.

Extremely recommended if you re into high end cuisine and are in London!

Came in for a light breakfast and while service was a bit erratic due to an event in the adjacent downstairs dining room, it was a very delicious meal. Bacon & Comte Benedict was perfect. Eggs super fluffy. The space is an instagram heaven and even more so right now due to the Mayfair Flower Show. The experience itself can be a bit much due to the hoards of girls getting that perfect selfie in, but the food definitely holds up.

5 stars for the experience, 1 star for the food.

It's probably the coolest place I've been to to eat / drink, feels like a Tim Burton movie.

I chose Sketch (the parlour) for a surprise birthday breakfast and was not disappointed. Amazing and friendly staff who made it an enjoyable experience, the added touch of bringing out a surprise happy birthday cake on plate was an excellent touch. Will be back again to visit all dining options!

This was once our favorite restaurant, but the food and the service has declined over the years. On our last visit, the service was truly terrible. They also seem to have cut back on the bathroom cleaning staff - the cute little egg bathroom pods were dirty and gross this time.

interior and environment of the place attract me to visit and try their food. as expected they fullfill your taste and need. food comes in good condition specially garnishing of each item was very pleasant. everything was nice and tidy no discomfort was there. i enjoyed food with peaceful mind and yummy taste. giving 5 stars because it deserves. recommended

Had my 27th birthday dinner here, there were about 5 waiters serving our table, bit hectic. They've brought us different menus from other rooms.

The cocktails were average.

Last but not least they never brought my birthday cake :(

We would like to compliment one of your Parlour staff Aryana, we came and had breakfast here recently with friends to celebrate birthday and she was a delight. So attentive, sweet and made the breakfast memorable. The food was great I had the bacon benedict and sweet apple pastries to finish the meal, portions good and affordable. will definitely be returning soon!

If I could rate this establishment negative stars, I would.
I m not the type of person who writes negative reviews. Being a business owner myself, I know the power of words. From my point of view, the best way to handle a less than pleasant customer experience, is to speak with management while you are present at the establishment. However, my complaint makes that impossible.
This seems so silly, when I know my compliant will not be read by anyone who cares. But as a mom I feel compelled to speak out, to protect and defend my child ( my 20 year old). Ok, here s the deal. My daughter is in London for a semester. She called today, she talked about going out later to this place named Sketch. She was so excited, stating that it was one of the cool places to go in London. Her and four other girls (all exchange students) were going to hang out and enjoy Sketch. Well that didn t happen because they were refused entry.
Dress code violation was the reason? My daughter was told that she and her friends weren t dressed appropriately. Not smart causal . However, they were, no jeans, no t-shirts and no trainers (sneakers).
She was so disappointed, because she couldn t understand what the problem was, when looking at other patrons, clearly not smart casual dressed.
When she told me of her experience, I could hear the disappointment and confusion in her voice. She kept saying how inhospitable the door person, bouncer or whatever they are called was. How, he couldn t give a clear definition of their dress code.
By now, you re wondering, what is this lady s point. Well, my concern is what was the real problem. Was it racism ( oh, I didn t mention it, my daughter is a person of color) or was it nationalism ( oh, I didn t mention it, she s American)? Either way this situation made me feel some type of way , ( as the young people say).
I hate to think my child was discriminated against based on the color of her skin or her national origin; that sucks and hurts. Sketch,
Get it together. Be nicer to your potential patrons. You really did a disservice to my child, hurting her feelings and mine to (miles away).

The art of smart. The place to be for everything inventive.

Walking into sketch you feel like you are moving into another world. The restaurant does a great job in making every room unique, and it is so fun to explore the different areas. They have a great bar that has a good vibe and tasty drinks, and the most instagramable bathrooms you will ever find. Make sure that you are looking your best when going here, and reservations are strongly recommended.

Cake so-so, coffee acceptable, decor stunning but uncomfortable to sit in Head to the Wallace for a really classy afternoon tea

The design is amazing, service was excellent but unfortunately the food wasn't seasoned very well. In a restaurant this quality I would have expected it to be on point but things were either bland, too salty or not salty/spicy enough. I would come back for a drink but not for food

Heavily hyped on opening, Pierre Gagnaire s deliciously over the top bar and restaurant complex in Mayfair is now a decade old. It remains one of the most intriguing spaces in London.
Housing a tea room, lounge bar and two excellent restaurants, it s a playful, deeply theatrical space, colourful and witty, even more so since its redesign by Turner Prize winner Martin Creed. The Gallery the one Creed had a hand in is a bold, bright, collision of a space; no two chairs are the same and there slashes and splashes of colour on the walls.
The vast East Bar lounge area boasts white leather walls while the Parlour is a collage of retro prints and red velvet, a sensory assault. The latter is the place to head for champagne afternoon teas and decadent cakes. The amazing cocktails are beautifully executed and as intoxicating as the design of the place.
The list includes a few standards alongside the Lovely Bubbly a mix of passion fruit with black raspberry liqueur and champagne and the Rosemary martini, a aromatic blend of black vodka, basil, vanilla syrup, rosemary infused vodka, sugar, salt, pepper, pineapple and apple juice.
The crowd are often just as glamorous as the surroundings; dressing up is pretty much mandatory. None of this comes cheap but there really is nowhere else in town quite like it. If you ve got some real cash to splash, the sumptuous Lecture Room restaurant remains a real experience. And we haven t even mentioned the famous egg-shaped toilets.

Cool vibes but just go for a drink at the bar to check it out (especially the bathrooms) as the food is average.

Loved the interior. Came here for brunch and I can t say that the food was something special or extraordinary. Probably not the best risotto in my life. So food was ok, but obviously most of the people come there to see the interior and famous toilets that was a great experience

Beautiful eccentric location with great service and wow effect. It s perfect for afternoon tea on a gloomy day (no windows), a drink, or a meal at the restaurant, where the food is of excellent quality but it s quite pricey as well.

We had the taster menu at the Lecture Room and Library. This offers a good selection of food and many desserts at the end. The food was good, a solid 4. Some of it was not to my liking. What makes this review a 5 is the service. The service was amazing. The way you are greeted, how they explain the dish and ingredients, etc.

Amazing place. Very unusual. I just went there for drinks so I did not try the food. Dishes looked nice.
You should visit this place just to have a look at the space pods in the toilets. Also not to be missed is the bar underneath the toilets (this bar opens 18:30 on weekdays)

We came here for afternoon tea. Plenty of food, tasty selection of teas, and a bonus spoon of caviar. The sandwich choices were a little ordinary though, would be nice if you got something a little more special given the rest of the food. Come for the decor though!

Peculiar experience. The setting and interior were quite spectacular. Food was a bit too strange for my Scandinavian taste.

Tried English Breakfast tea, quality of teas are great, especially enjoyed truffle sandwich, however the price is quite high for a single meal but worth trying once when you visit London.

I came here for my birthday, and walking into the pink room was absolutely everything I imagined.

The service was great, maybe a touch too over the top? But lovely to feel so looked after by her especially on my birthday.

The food on the other hand was revolting. The menu felt very 'experimental' and as if they were just trying to see what worked and what didn't before they put it on the Michelin Starred menu in the restaurant the next room over.

My advice would be to come here for a drink and a photo, but I would dine in the other rooms over the pink one.

The interior design is out of this world - artistic, funky, chic, beautiful, creative. But we felt the desserts were not very impressive given this hefty price tag. They were just really average but double the price of any ordinary dessert elsewhere

Was the first time in a Michelin starred restaurant. And the whole experience was stunning. My boyfriend and I came for our anniversary, and we have been looked mainly after Vittoria, an Italian girl from Florence. Her knowledge in hospitality and food was incredible. She made our evening and our anniversary special from the beginning to the end, knowing our preferences and recommending her favourite cheeses to try. We loved her.
Needless to say the food was extraordinary.
