This was my first time using a staffing agency, so I was not sure what to expect. But I am so happy with my experience! I met with Alona for my initial interview and she was wonderful. This temp agency is completely unprofessional!! They bated me for weeks by telling me I have this great job opportunity with great pay and five minutes away from my house. They advise me to QUIT my former job several times and I do put in my letter of resignation, only for Faye to tell me that I no longer have the job lined up and to get on my hands and knees and BEG for my former job back. The company that I was going to temp for was so dissatisfied and disgusted with their decision that he personally reached out to me to still offer me the position which I gladly excepted. DO NOT go through this temp agency they will bait you for weeks get you to put your two weeks in, or QUIT like what they did to me and drop you, not worth it.

Jenn had already written some notes to make my resume stand out and, although it was an hourly pay below my target so I didn't move forward, they were able to set up an interview for the next day! At the time I visited Silvernman McGovern, they only had temp/contract positions available, but I was told they could progress into full time jobs after the contract ended. Silverman McGovern is a great place to go to if you're like me and trying to find your footing in the working world. When I first applied there, I was applying for a position at their location (not knowing at the time that they were a contracting agency). In other instances when applying for jobs elsewhere, I found that most employers wouldn't consider my application even if a future position opened up. However, after my initial application didn't make the cut, Silverman McGovern continued to contact me and communicated other job opportunities available, detailing the job description before asking permission to send off my application to other employers. In a short amount of time, I found myself out of the hectic world of retail and into a significantly more comfortable position of an office job at CVS Health. Even after being hired, I was still in touch with this agency whenever they had updated their policies or whenever my initial contract was to be extended. It was obvious that constant communication was something that this company truly respected and upheld.
Because of this opportunity, I was able to get the experience needed to apply to other similar jobs and assure myself that I would never be trapped in retail ever again. For that, I am forever grateful for everything that this company and CVS have been able to provide me. I first heard about Silverman McGovern back in 2014 from one of my coworkers while on a temporary contract assignment at CVS Health, where I was placed by a different agency. We worked there for nearly 6 months because our positions were extended. The following year our teams funding fell through and we all went our separate ways.
Recently, during April of this year I found myself on the job market again. Scrolling through the job boards, I found an add for and Associate Project Manager and I applied for the position online. The next day I was contacted for an interview. Not long after, I went in the office to meet with AJ and Alona. The overall interview experience was one of the best I've ever had. These are down to earth people who make you feel comfortable and are not intimidating at all. The entire process was fast and easy, straight forward, honest and hassle free. I applied for the position at the beginning of May and started working the first week of June.
I would highly recommend this company to anyone looking for a long term opportunity. I've worked with other agencies in the past, they will lock you into a contract with a noncompete agreement. Then you must wait a min time period before you can be hired by the company you were assigned to. At Silverman McGovern, I haven't heard of any such discrepancies. The opportunity for an easy transition to permanent placement is made available to you. The rate of pay offered is fair and competitive with market salary rate.

I honestly just started working with Silverman McGovern a few weeks ago and I was just hired for a great temp position at the specific company that I wanted to work for. I have interacted with four people on their team and each person actually took the time to get a sense of who I was as a PERSON and what I wanted to do - and then they each did everything that they could to help me actualize it.

In one word. Fantastic. I was not able to take an assignment as I was able to find permanent work on my own but Faye Silverman was excellent. She knew exactly what I was looking for and did everything she could to find an assignment for me. Professional and warm, you will not find a better agency that will do everything to make sure you have a placement that is right for you.
Bait and switch. They want educated, talented and experienced people in their database- and they want you to come meet them by positing these alleged high end jobs...but it is just to have you on the books and a waste of time. They do not set up expectations well and then you end up with nothing after becoming interested in something. Very disappointing.
I have been with SM for almost a year now and have not had any luck yet. My contact found me a couple potential positions, put me through and that was it. I currently work with several other Staffing Agencies and this one is by far the worst one. As far as I'm concerned they are supposed to contact you with a position to see if it's something you'd like, and if it is, they will "introduce" you to the client. You can say no anytime you want. You are never pressured to say yes to any of these clients. I said 'no thank you' to a previous position... My contact kept telling me that I should take the position/phone call, that it would be such a great role for me, that accepting this would guarantee me at other XYZ Companies and that it wasn't far from my home at all..."only 12 miles from the city to be exact" Then I look up the company and it's 1.5 hours away...So I finally took the call for the phone interview only to find out it's a toy company no one has ever heard of and it would be a project by project/only when needed basis. So again, I said 'no thank you' to my contact at Silverman McGovern..and it stopped there.
Not once since then have I been contacted to see how I'm doing, or to even follow up with any positions. I emailed SEVERAL times to reach out and follow up on upcoming roles...but yet again, NO RESPONSE!!! The other 4 or 5 other agencies that I'm with will literally call you several times a day to follow up with you and let you know of certain positions that would be a fit. They will send you countless emails for positions....Silverman McGovern is such a WASTE OF TIME! They don't help you, they don't offer their services, and they don't even seem to care to see you succeed in placing a role for you.
Don't waste your time.. There are plenty of other Agencies to go with.
Faye is extremely rude and all of the staff lies and the false advertisement is ridiculous

I came to Silverman McGovern as a new graduate, a little discouraged with the previous interviews I had been on for positions I knew I wouldn't be happy in. I was looking to explore new opportunities through Silverman McGovern. They had told me of a few positions that would match what I do with a higher salary. I didn't want to leave my current job until I had been hired somewhere else. It turned out Faye had called the owner of where I work to inquire what I was like as an employee. In this conversation, the owner learned I was looking for work elsewhere. I was fired at the end of the day. The two positions never materialized. So much for trust and professionalism with Silverman McGovern.

Silverman McGovern worked really hard to find the right placement for me. I moved from out of state and this was the second agency that I approached. The first agency seemed frustrated with me that I didn't want to take temporary administrative placements - I was also working as a bartender during this time. That was a big turn off because I'd been up front about that from the beginning. I would not have hesitated to temp through Silverman McGovern if I didn't have the bartending job, partly because Faye and Alona at Silverman McGovern understood and agreed with my plan to wait for the right opportunity that was a fit with my skills, salary range, and career goals. That built a lot of trust, quickly. They brought several opportunities to my attention throughout the course of a year and I'm thankful that even when I went dark, they would reach out to me with new postings. Faye and Alona are very organized and take a critical approach to the postings. I was not getting notified of postings that were outside of what I was looking for. I'd also like to highlight the value of my initial in-person meetings with Alona and Faye. They gave incredibly valuable feedback on the language and organization of my resume. I felt like Silverman McGovern really cared, and their enthusiasm rallied me to make necessary changes to my resume and brush up on skills to be more marketable. Highly recommend this agency!
Almost 4 years ago I received a call back from Patti at Silverman McGovern Staffing. After being out of work for 5 months, I was eager to return to work, but a bit shy. Today I went to Silverman McGovern staffing & recruiting and met with Alona and the owner Faye Silverman. I was extremely pleased by everyone's professionalism and most of all how personable everyone was! The owner took time out of her busy day to meet with me before I left the office, because she ( and her staff) really want to help people find a job that is right for them. They're THE best staffing & recruiting company I've ever worked with. They helped me with both resume and portfolio before setting out and they always kept me on the radar. They're great with calling back and keeping you up to date on potential ideas for jobs, something I've found troublesome with many other staffing companies. They found me two very great paying jobs, the first one I was asked to be a full time employee and the next week, the company laid off all it's employees in RI (internal company related). The second position, they got me with CVS Health corporate in Woonsocket. I'm now a full time employee after a year of being a contractor. I owe so much to Silverman and McGovern.

Worked with them for about a year.. have to say the experience was great. Open communication, paid on time, if there was an issue with my time card or paperwork, etc.. AJ (My Agent) or Alona would reach out to me and communicate what was needed. They are all very personable, with real lives and families of there own so over time.. I just came to know them as friendly co-workers.. No just some cold staffing agency located in cyber space. My temp position has lead to a full-time company job.. and I 100% can look back and say I recommend Silverman McGovern!
In 2017, I worked with Faye and her team twice. The first time Faye got me an interview for a fantastic job. I even had a second interview but another person was chosen for that position. Several months later I found myself looking for another job and the first person I called was Faye. She got me an interview with another fantastic company and this time I did get the job. I called Faye the second time I found myself unemployed for this reason - she was the only person at an agency that actually sent me out on an interview for not one, but two excellent positions. If you are out of work, don't call any other agency - just call Silverman McGovern because they deliver! The best outcome is that after four months working as a temp with this company they offered me the permanent position and I couldn't be happier. Working with Faye and her team for four months, I never had a problem with my pay and they were there to help if I had any problems. Do not hesitate to call this company if you are looking for work, they really care.
After a spontaneous year-long move to WI with my boyfriend, I was having trouble getting my career back on track. I had spent the summer applying for jobs in my field of Marketing and Communications, but I was having no luck and my employment gap was growing. After coming across SM, I was connected immediately and asked to come in for an "interview". The process was extremely quick and straight-forward. I had the privilege of working with Jen, who was extremely kind and informative. Within a few weeks I was hired at a large corporate company in RI. After a year and half, this week I am now a full-time employee through that company. While this position didn't speak much to my background, I am hopeful that this will open more doors for me in the future.

Do not go here !!! They actually screwed me out of an employment opportunity by contacting an employer I had an interview with (I got this interview on my own, not through a recruiter) . They told me I was worth only 12/hr lol. They are extremely unprofessional, I emailed several times, never got a response. I highly recommend greysmith companies, I received the pay I asked for in a great company! Don't hurt yourself by choosing Silverman McGovern. This is my respectful opinion from my experience.
I was new in Providence, and had never used a staffing agency before when I contacted a slew of them. Not only did I hear back from SM immediately, it was great warmth and enthusiasm unparalleled by the others. I felt they took the time to really know me and were invested beyond an immediate placement, asking about my long-term goals and interests. My contact, AJ, is thoughtful and quick to respond to any questions I have. What's more, he asks about other aspects of my life when we meet. The result of this care at SM is that a candidate feels like a person and not a file. Everyone I've met at this family business has the same level of generosity from the wholly welcoming Faye to Alona, who went to great lengths to ensure I received important documents after work hours. My positive impression of SM was confirmed by my boss at the company I was placed. Good will across the board. Highly recommend for any job hunter.
I have known the people at Silverman McGovern for more years then I can believe. This was the first time that I had the pleasure of working with them as a contractor. I never had a moments hesitation when I got the call from Patti. Within a week I was placed at a position I absolutely love. They checked on me to make sure I was happy, did I need anything? So say they are a company with a heart is an understatement. When a time came when we suffered a family tragedy they never asked a single question other than "What can we do to help?"
