Having purchased two vehicles from Sill-Terhar we were pleased with the sales staff. In the last few years, the service departments have gone downhill, in my opinion. On our F-150, the driver-side door light switch wore out, leaving the cabin lights on, the reason for the appointment. As I sat in the early drop-off area, the truck refused to start and a lot attendant and I pushed it into the drop-off area. I mentioned it to the advisor that this had happened a couple of times before so please check it out. The next day, I was asked to leave the truck an extra day as the Ford truck repair staff was out that day. The next day at 4 pm, the advisor said they could not find anything wrong with the fuel pump pressure and gas quality was good. They asked to keep the truck over the weekend for more testing. I refused as I needed the vehicle but was still charged a service charge for finding nothing! Three days without a solution. A while later, the truck stalled on I-80 between Rawlins and Laramie, same problem. I've done some googling and there are some instances of balky fuel pumps in F-150s. There also have been other issues with the Ford in the past.
Today, I was dropping off the Volvo a day early for scheduled maintenance. As I was at the service desk, a phone call from Sill-Terhar came in asking to reschedule the appointment for next week. Here I made the effort to bring the car in early and my ride was already on the way. There wasn't much of an effort or acknowledgement to maybe squeezing the work or an offer of providing a loaner. I admit my patience is a bit frayed from the F-150 experience.
The Volvo service has usually been spot on. In the past, a Terhar, I think her name was Janelle, would call to see how your service experience went. Too bad Sil-Terhar doesn't do that anymore. Good customer service=return buyers.
