Shoprite Supermarket Review

A lovely place to do grocery shopping or grab some lunch. They have everything that you may need. A bit on the pricey though.

Fresh food all the time. In a good location. Next to Hospital,gas station,Walgreens,home depot etc and downtown Newark market street.

Not much to say about here a went a few times to buy grocery with my friends I enjoy the shopping here just not the parking they need parking helpers outside apart from go and get freshly prepared meal nice and hot if you are so how or in a rush

It's alway's crouded and the staff normally has a attitude and are unhelpful and rude.

Thank You , for putting the "SELF CHECK OUT" machines ! At least I do not have to deal with those rude workers that work there. One of the cashiers was looking at me with anger in her eyes, as if to say why didn't you come to my lane to get your items check out. I look at her back and said "take a picture it will last longer" lol. I should of told her the owners need to make the whole store self checkout lol.

I did Shop From Home pick up. They were professional and efficient. They are great at letting you know well in advance what's not available and what they have to substitute.

Lyou can find allsort of things @ this shopRite. You can also check yourselves out; it gets crowded at times.

I love coming to this Shoprite, it has great sales, I always find what I'm looking for and the hot bar is amazing. Now I had to rate it 1 star because of the customer service. This location gets really crowded and I am aware of that and deal with it. But I can't seem to understand why the cashiers are so rude. Last night I was, in other terms, called illiterate by the gentleman at customer service. When I simply wanted to ask him if it was okay for him to ring up my 3 items. As I saw him ring up other customers, for sodas, corn, nuggets, cakes etc. he rudely said " Ma'am can you not read the pink sign?" Uncalled for! I understand rules are rules, but if you are breaking them and then you want to specifically target me and call me out for "failing to read the sign", leads me to believe it might have been because of my race. Might I add there were other customers behind me as well waiting to be rang up and he did not advise them to "read the pink sign". There's about a handful of employees here that are so sweet and kind. But as for the gentleman at customer service, he should be at another station/position.

Love it. They have pre sliced deli meat so no deli lines they have halal meat and its really big and clean and the bakery is nice

This Shoprite is GLORIOUS! As soon as you walk in, your senses will be swirl with delight. The fresh soup, the fresh fruits, the freshly rolled sushi and on and on, are right there at the entrance. The entire layout is modern. The staff thus far is very helpful and friendly. Parking is unlimited and there are additional establishments surrounding such as Popeyes. This store gets an A+++

Nice store but they need to employ more cashiers...at least a 30 minute wait online every time.

This location is always packed but luckily today we had a cashier that moved the line swiftly and politely, I was very impressed.

I walked in the door it was clean and well lit. The deli was the first place you walk into. All the meat looked fresh. The entire store was clean. The staff was friendly. The lines moved fast.

Pretty nice and new grocery store. Well stocked and clean, plenty of sales. The line was long on a Monday morning so I can imagine the weekends are worse but overall was pretty good.

Closest supermarket to me that I like. A little crowded but I was able purchase what I needed. The cashier was cordial and processed my order correctly.

Found what i was looking for plus stuff I didn't need. Went in for 3 items came out with 20. Lol

The store is beautiful! But expect to be on the check out line for 3 days!!! There is no such thing as Express! 10 items.or less is a joke! And management could care less!! I only go from time to time because it's in my neighborhood. Other than that..Thank GOD for Kearny and West Orange! I'd rather drive to the store for 1 item rather than walk across the street! #DONE #HATE THIS STORE!

I love it it's close to my house and I get everything that I need at ShopRite

As a new location, this ShopRite is doing very well. The layout of the store is well thought out so that customers are able to find everything they need and be enticed by the food section up-front. Their call-in grocery service also is an added bonus for those that don't have time to come in and shop.

Surprisingly good store. The food court in there looks amazing. Dying to try it out.

Update: shoppers are incredibly lazy. Food left all over the store and carts left all over the parking lot. Pease take better care of your community when you get new things, Newark.

Shoprite is my place for shopping. I always have great experiences at all the branches I shop.

Great shopping experience. Very clean, wide variety of products. The staff is superb and always go the extra mile. The Deli Counter has a huge selection unlike both Shoprites in Yonkers. Clientele can be a little rough, especially when they have their own rules at the checkout line.

They have everything. And fast service even though it stays crowded. Cashier's are very polite.

SUPER LONG LINES
The employees seem to be chatty with each other, this does not represent professionalism and feels rude. let s not even get started with the SUPER LONG LINES. It s crazing knowing that almost all the cash register are opened and none manage to clear of one customer in 4 min.

I was mad because I couldn't get all of my items because the store was so crowded so I had to get in a 5 item or less line and I had to leave back some things but overall the experience is usually good.

It's always so crowded, line wait is around 20-25 minutes or more. Bring a good book. The food service area and bakery are wonderful.

I like the products at this location, but the wait in the lines are very long

My favourite grocery shopping place in Newark.They stock very good stuffs and I like the easy acess to whatever you want.

Beautiful and large store to shop from! I love the varieties, the bakery is amazing and the hot buffet items! The staff are professional and very friendly too !

Ordered a cake from bakery was over charged by $7 dollars and the person that took my order was very,very rude.Keny was her name & l believe see over charged me on purpose!

I live directly across the street. I love the variety of foods, especially fresh fruits and The veggies. The halal section and fish section is my favorite. They have everything you need and more at ShopRite.

Huge shoprite have everything you could need and they also have a large cook food station as soon as you walk in. They have food by the pound, soups, pizza and a grill. Shelves are always stocked cant go wrong coming to this shoprite

Very large store. About the largest comparable produce section with the most beautiful, vibrant, large greens that I've ever seen! Reasonable prices.Great selection, and would highly recommend!

I go here all the time. THis is a very large store with lots of selections and good prices. They have a halal meat section which is great and very helpful. They also have a pharmacy which makes things convenient. Parking is abundant and this is a busy store.

ShopRite of Newark is decent. The lines tend to get long, but they move quickly. The bakery is awesome. The baked goods taste amazing, especially the sugar cookies and sweet potato pie. The prepared food selection offers a lot of variety.

My go too supermarket, if Pathmark still existed I don't think I would have gone to shoprite but it's good when you buy fruits and veggies and get a coupon of the same value to spend the next month, also there is always something on sale to buy

Have everything you need for an affordable price. Friendly Customer service. They have delivery service as well.

Great hot bar. Even better experience if u get there to shop before 12pm. Everything u need is rite here. Express line moves typically fast. Only thing I hate is closed on major holidays.

This has to be one of the newest and nicest ShopRite supermarkets in NJ. They have a great hot buffet, the likes of which I've never seen at other ShopRite stores.

Aisles are huge, clean and well stocked, Newark police seem to be working here full time posts.

Ample parking, great NJ ShopRite prices as always, but a very upgraded store.

I love pretty much all ShopRite stores but I can only give three stars to this one because of their service. Don't send cashiers to lunch when you have a literally 15 to 20 customers per line waiting. Also their seafood department. I like to get shrimp, crab legs and lobster tail steamed. The problem is you have to get them from the back of the store, then go to the front of the store to pay for them and then go back to the seafood department to get them steamed, by the time you've done all of that, you have literally taken 30 to 40 minutes just for your food.

SUGGESTION TIME:

IT'S ALL ABOUT SIMPLICITY

1. Go to seafood department, pick out the items wanted for steaming.
2. Give customer just the receipt so they can go to the front and pay.
3. Go back to seafood department and have a designated person just for steaming, hand them receipt and BOOM...steaming has begun.
4. Season(optional), pack, happy customer leaves.

You would cut down customers complaining of customers skipping them on line because they've already made their order and they just want to get it steamed and the flow of the department would go much faster.

Very nice supermarket. Staff is very friendly and helpful. The store is clean and well stocked. The produce is always very fresh. They also the convenience of Shoprite from Home service. My grocery order arrived and was accurate. The frozen items were still frozen, the meats and produce were fresh. They also offer a variety of both hot and cold prepared entrees and catering. I would highly recommend this Supermarket.

The store was bright and clean. The prices were pretty good as well.

Good clean store overall great but stay away from the stores fresh whatever. Not very good or fresh and overpriced. Also has very long lines so plan on being there for some time.

It wasn't too crowded today. Probably bc it's the middle of the month. Easier shopping than usual

Organized and fairly clean, but aisles are a tight fit for 2 carts, especially when one is a motorized cart.

The security is horrible they block the path into the store as well as potential parking spaces and when you ask them to park while talking the cop said he can be anywhere he wants. I have never seen such disrespect to someone else's business. The people are no better I've seen several arguments which is why I only use them when desperate. Ray is the only good thing about that store he cooks expeditiously to get me out and to work on time while working with several other people in line.

If u been reading my reviews. U should know. I keep it real. So.... This ShopRite has everything for your local shopping needs. You want steak they got it. U want cheap prices. They got it. The only thing is you better get it before the rest do. My advice is go on your day off and make sure u got some time on your hands. The prices is low and in actuality the quality is good. Especially for the location. Big parking lot for big deals. But the lines is endless.. the produce department can use a big upgrade but besides that everything else is sweet.. good shopping for all my hungry people out there.. just don't go in the beginning of the month. Must i say more.. family is definitely first up in there.. good luck..

Long lines and it s really crowded but other than that it is clean and well stocked

Pros - Finally a Grocery Store that gives the hood the proper respect!
Fresh food, healthy food, and fair prices.

Cons - Needs an area to lock up bicycles. Needs to stay open a little later. Maybe 11:00pm or 11:30pm

I love it here but the customer service center, and the cashiers suck here sucks i mean it's clean and organize but they need to improve on customer service

While this place usually has most of the items that I want, it's gets pretty crowded, which is especially annoying with the long narrow aisles.

Very good prices, good variety of vegetables and fresh

I can usually find what I want with enough time, just wish the staff were more friendly and didn't seem bother by helping people at least the staff I saw when I visited.

They need more low carb products besides that great store..
