The hosts are very friendly and accommodating. It's a clean and modern facility. The only reason for not giving it a five star rating is room we were in was not very sound proof. The noise level from the room above ours was loud beyond reason. It sounded like they might come through the ceiling at any time.
That being said, the location was great and I would stay there again.

First, I think some of the reviews are for the the Super 8 in Shipshewana. Second, some of the reviews for the Super 8/Wyndhan in Howe may be from the owner/operator's relatives.
We stayed at the Super 8 in Howe because the Super 8 in Shipshewana was full. The Super 8 in Howe was ok. Although the room was a decent size, it definitely needs updating. Desk chair and couch were stained and dirty looking. The mattress left a lot to be desired. Front desk clerk was friendly and helpful. There was a limited selection for breakfast: tea, coffee, juices, pancake and waffle makers, oatmeal and cereal, bur no muffins or bagels. I didn't expect eggs, bacon, or sausage because it was not very busy. It is pet friendly but it wouldn't be my first choice for lodging. Also, it looked quite empty but we were told there were no queen beds only king and we paid more for it.

I booked a room by calling the Motel direct. I was quoted for two queen beds in non-smoking for Friday. At our arrival we were given a handicapped room with one bed. When I spoke to the person at the desk, I was told I had been quoted a one bed room. He then slowly worked on his computer and without explanation gave me a key to the room at the end of the hall. It was two queens but another handicapped room. The following morning I discovered that the handicapped shower had leftover soap and conditioner bottle in it. The floor had been repaired with putty and there was no pressure from the shower head. When I reported this to the desk at checkout, she did not address the issue with me. I was told after she completed checkout that a manager would call me. Still waiting on that call.

I have stayed here before and was happy. What a difference a year makes. I could not find my confirmation of my reservation, so I called the hotel and was told that they don't send them. I asked them to check that I did in fact have a hotel room during the quilt show and they said I did not have one. So I booked a room. When I got to Shipshewana, I had two rooms. My friends were in another room. I had a tepid shower the first day, they had a cold shower. Neither of our rooms was fully cleaned that day - my coffeemaker still had coffee and a dirty filter, by bed was only made as far as I had made it and in my friends' room, it was evident that no vacuuming was done. Second day, I was the one with cold water. When I told Goth girl ( I am from Chicago, this is not unusual, just to identify her) that we were having water problems, she shrugged. I told her that this was not a proper response and she said, "What do you expect me to do about it." For $292 for two nights, I expect a clean room and hot water. Margaret Tomaszek Witry

The crew is as friendly and helpful as rocks... Some of the worst service I've ever seen.. I laid my 4 month old on the the bed and within 30 second's he had a flee on his cheek.. a minute later we found another flee on the pillows.. never ask for my money back but told the guy at the front desk when i checked out and he looks at me like i was loosing my mind.. I'll never stay here again.. Horrible compliment to the town of shipshewana...

The room was okay but the staff were not very professional or friendly. The gentleman who checked us in was all business, no smile! The gal who checked us out was in tee shirt and jeans.
We spent the second night at Blue Gate. Definitely worth the extra it cost!

We were in desperate need of a cool hotel room that was pet friendly and a reasonable distance from our camper repair facility. When we checked in my husband explained that we needed a cool room. When we opened the door it felt as if it were close to 85 degrees in the room. It was getting late and we were too exhausted to sit in a hot room until it cooled enough to sleep. We spoke with the man at the desk and he confirmed that the additional rooms did not have air on. We were refunded our money and traveled back to where our camper was and slept in a slightly less warm room. We were shocked that after days in the nineties, in a tourist area, that this hotel did not have at least a few rooms with the air on for last minute guests.

The location is great because it's right in the middle of town and doesn't take much to travel anywhere! We have a nice two room suite which works great for having kids with us! The staff has been wonderful! We have really enjoyed our experience here and will definitely be coming back again!

Clean, quiet place to stay. They even had hot breakfast which is practically unheard of. So nice to enjoy that. The only thing I didn't like is housekeeping asking if we were leaving every time we took something to the truck or went to get some ice. They

The staff is very nice. It is classy, but casual. This is the 2nd time I have stayed there, I would have no problem going again. It is right next door to the Blue Gate Theatre. You can walk over to the concerts.

Just returned from a two day stay, and couldn't be more pleased. Absolutely every staff member that we encountered, was extremely polite, accommodating and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable, our requests for extra pillows, towels and a microwave were handled quickly, the location was perfect and we will be back!!

Very nice service and well kept rooms. The walls are thin so you can hear the rooms next to you, which was a problem when you're trying to sleep in. The breakfast was actually quite nice.

Clean rooms, pretty good breakfast, but I was really impressed with the service. One of the cleaners took the time to chat with my kids and was very nice and even gave some recommendations for where to take them.

Management was excellent and very accommodating in providing an upgraded room when we explained our circumstances surrounding our surprise need to stay in Shipshewana for at least a week with a discounted average night rate less than the per night rate. Rooms are very clean and comfortable with housekeeping providing for our needs each day. Highly recommend this motel if you want/need to stay in Shipshe (as the locals say).

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The room was clean and fresh. The motel was right next to the event center and other attractions. The breakfast was great, plenty of "hot" choices. We would stay there again.

The best Super 8 I've stayed at. Decently priced and hence was surprised by the cleanliness of the room, the full hot breakfast unlike some other Super 8s. Staff was just fantastic and went above and beyond. Super 8 in the rest of the country should learn from this one in Shipshewana

First of all checking in with the young blonde at the counter was enough to make me want to leave. She was rude very short answers and looked annoyed when I said I am hard of hearing and needed her to repeat herself! Second she just asked for my credit card and swiped it not even discussing the price. I thought the price was a bit less and when I said something she rudely told me different! Seriously I hadn t made it to the room yet and was already thinking about checking out... Rooms are okay haven t seen the breakfast yet but if it s as bad as Check in I ll never come back! Seems to be in a good location. I hope management addresses this first impression with guest are the lively hood of your business.
