Nice place, great location.

Nice place, great location.
Food sucks. Calamari tasted refried and stale in the restaurant.
Otherwise great.
Anne at the front desk was very helpful, caring and polite.

I was recently in San Diego for the Rock and Roll ...

I was recently in San Diego for the Rock and Roll marathon. We booked two rooms at the Sheraton San Diego Hotel & Marina. We checked in around 5pm and requested a late check out, the late check out is 2pm.

I wanted to rest, so we went straight to the room to take a quick nap before dinner. Off the bat, I'm not impressed with the room. It was kind of old looking actually. The tub made a weird noise when we walked on it, it felt like I was going to fall through. The bathroom didn't have a vent and the blow dryer did not work. The curtains didn't close all the way, so there was still light coming though on the left side and the walls are super thin.

I wanted to take a nap, but that was impossible, we had the noisiest neighbors. It was a family with little kids and a teenage daughter. The teenage daughter was outside on their balcony having a super loud telephone conversation. She was so loud, That my friend in the next room could tell you exactly what she was talking about. My friend was two rooms away from theirs. So while the daughter was outside yelling, the young kid/kids were inside jumping on the bed and play fighting and to top it off the tv was going as well. Needless to say I did not take a nap.

We go to dinner and come back around 10:30pm. Im still exhausted because I couldn't take a nap earlier. I walk into the bathroom to get ready for bed. I notice that they did not bring up a new blow dryer. Now, its close to 11pm. I'm exhausted and I have to be up early for the race. So I don't call to request one.

Next morning, I get up early go run my half marathon and come back to the room around 11am. We requested late check out, since check out was at 2pm. I tried to take a nap before we checked out and headed back home to Phoenix. As I'm falling asleep housekeeping tries to enter the room twice. Why would they have housekeeping check in on the room if we requested late check out? So I get up and get ready to leave. As we're ready to walk out, I walk up to the front desk and ask to verify that we will not be charged the resort fee on either room. I am assured that the resort fee was taken off both rooms.

Fast forward to today, I have two 29.30 charges to my card for the resort fee's on the room and the parking fee.

Clearly, Sheraton needs to work on their communication and notation. I've contacted the Sheraton and have not been able to get a refund.

So overall, is this hotel worth the money? absolutely not! All I wanted to do was take a nap, and I couldn't even do that!

Clean, good service and the nautical theme for the building is neat. It's very close the the airport and right on the water. Due it it's proximity to the airport, you will experience a lot of jet noise. The temperature control in the rooms were not great.

Nice.

Pros: pretty attractive place, from the lobby to the room, to amenities and services. Just about everything you'd want if you just wanted to stay on property.
Cons: kinda feel like it turned into a regular downtown bar/ lounge at night with marina guests and other visitors coming over.

Great location of the hotel right off the airport with different amenities to offer. Pretty good size pools. Parking fee of 36 a night(self park) and 42(valet) was a little pricey for sure. They do charge a resort fee of 29.99 nightly so that should include parking in my opinion. Theres a parking lot across the street that only charges $10. If you are staying multiple of days, I would recommend that. Due to the location by the airport, I would recommend this hotel and would stay here again.

I booked two room and I told them over the phone king bed each, connected to each other, or at least close to each other, on the marina side. When I came to check in they told me we are busy, can t do your request, we have 2nd floor and 5th!
Or double bed or facing the city(parking lot) or no balcony and not close enough! And on the email showing my request!
They gave us very hard time and then gave us room keys for double bed, facing the parking lot and lower floor!!!!!!
But, we are lucky to spoke to the manager (Angelica) !
She was very nice, helpful, and friendly person!
I told my friend it is gonna be the first and last experience at this f*****g hotel before meeting Angelica!
When I met her, we upgraded our room and we made it one day more!
I wanna thank the amazing manager!
She made my day!

Great location, staff, and accommodations. It is close to the Harbor and water toys. It has a free shuttle from the airport and back. The Waterfeont Big Bay Shuttle comes right in front of the hotel and you can ride all day for $3 pp.

Other than the pleasant front desk staff, I don't have many positive things to say. This hotel seems too large for its own good. The overnight guest parking is far, and costs $32!! The room (in the lanai building, which I chose because it sounded pretty..ha!)...was falling apart. All of the handles on the dresser etc were rubbed off (pleather?). The room smelled dank, and off-putting. I was so unimpressed... I would not recommend, nor would I return here.

Nice location on the water, right by the airport. Uber to get to downtown San Diego/Gaslamp Quarter cost ~$10. During summer months they have a $3 downtown shuttle. You can upgrade to Club Level to access the top floor lounge, but it's not really worth it for a limited breakfast spread and a cash bar in the early evening. Rooms smaller than the Westin or W downtown.

The hotel has nice rooms, pool, marina setting. Avoids all the downtown noise, but gets some from the San Diego airport nearby. Biggest complaint: The bar! Absolutely the loudest bar I can remember, gave me a headache in 5 minutes. Only noise was from the patrons inside the bar, maybe 40 people. My phone measured consistently about 80 db (bad) with a phone app. Beautiful bar, but avoid if you can still hear, or bring ear plugs.

Room is comfortable, with a great view. Service is friendly and accommodating. The shuttle to SDCC was fantastic! Location is convenient to the airport but it's a bit of a pain to get downtown.

Extremely rude and aggressive front desk staff. We needed to cancel a reservation due to medical emergency and a lady named Rebecca/ Becky was unwilling to listen to me. She would not let me complete and kept interrupting me. We ended up losing our money. If the front desk are so unprofessional and unfriendly then I will NOT recommend anyone staying here. I'm sure they will make the rest of the stay highly unpleasant. Please do NOT make a reservation here if you're trying to enjoy your vacation.

The scenery was nice. But the way the do business sucks borderline unethical. I was unbelievable that I was not a ole to get the same answer for two people no where. It appears I was charge a room deposit 3 times everyone else. And it took almost two weeks to get 2 of the deposits refunded... i called and called and felt messages and never received a call back. Also with chnaging rooms we felt a name brand men bathroom bag (shaver, toothpaste, toothbrush, soap- type bag) was never returned.

So far, this is one of the best hotels I have been to! The ambiance was so classy and cozy. The hotel grounds are spectacular. Multiple pools and the best thing was the breakfast by the pool. Whatever you need during your stay the staff will work with you to make your stay comfortable. I love this place and will come back again soon.
