Spacious rooms, clean bedding and bathrooms, nice toiletries, prompt room service. A daily $10 credit contributes to the $26 breakfast. The breakfast buffet is very rich.
Comfortable, very clean, and easy to navigate. Front desk was very helpful in familiarizing me with amenities and kind enough to compensate me with a voucher for one free drink at the lounge when my room took a few minutes beyond check-in to clean.
Scrappy Sheraton trying to survive off fees for everything. While the annoying 'resort fee' is typical in this class, Sheraton has taken it to a new low level. Said fee now only covers a single activity for a single person per night. I would go elsewhere for 4 star quality and service. This place is hurting the Marriott brand.
This is a great place for the business traveler and put of town families alike. It's as close to the airport add you can get without being a pilot... there are always uber drivers available to show you around town. A+
Guest services very snobby. Loved the location would of stay there again even though it was pricey if guest services hadn't been rude at check out for no reason. I guess when they get your money they are done with you.
They charge for every package. The lanai building is really really far away and it's bar its really expensive and has the tip included when you go to dinner.
Attending a conference at this hotel. The hotel is very beautiful, in a great setting with the marina and bay. Food and snacks are plentiful, wifi is strong, everything is easy to find. There is a Starbucks in the lobby.
Beware the undisclosed resort charge and service fees. Customer service at the front desk was unkind at check in and unable to help when I disputed the extra fees at checkout. Hotel was very nice, great views, very comfortable rooms.
The room was nice, I got the room on Expedia for a good price. Then when I arrived I received mandatory charges that what I saved was used to cover those ridiculous charges
Absolutely wonderful , great staff , food was so good best pizza I've ever had . By far the greatest view for a good price,we come every year for our anniversary.
I am a loyal Starwood member, but was very disappointed in this recent trip to your property.
Unfortunately, this hotel does not uphold the Starwood brand. Apparently I need to be more cautious in which room type you book (marina or bay). The website fails to tell you the bay is actually an old hotel you own down the road. It does not reflect any of the pictures on the website that I could tell. Check in was delayed because your computers were down. After some time we were able to change rooms and get a Marina tower. However, the rest of our issues demonstrate a poorly run team with very broken communication processes. We had the misfortunate of traveling with a child that got sick during the vacation. This resulted in us needing some housekeeping assistance. The first night it took 2 calls, 1 hour, and 3 visits from a housekeeper just to change sheets. Second day 3 hours, 4 calls, and 1 manager to finally just get a regular room cleaning/replacing of towels. 3rd day 45 minutes, 2 calls to get more towels. The one manager we did speak with said you were very busy that weekend with a conference. If you anticipate a full hotel with guests, than staff accordingly. Overall the property is missing the mark on many details. The doors of all the rooms on the 8th floor sounded like jail cells slamming. Many of the doors (including ours) did not close all the way without a firm push. This results in many guests leaving their room assuming the door closed behind them. I saw 3 other guest rooms that I could have walked into because the door didn't close. I never saw the pool staff ever clean the deck chairs. There was some sort of green animal excrement that was on the same deck chair the entire vacation. The list could go on, needless to say I would never recommend this property.
In addition, I left several messages with guest services asking that the general manager follow up with me. To this date, no one has responded. I see the general manager does respond to trip advisor so I posted my negative review there hoping to finally get a response.
Although the housekeeping manager credited us 1 nights points, I feel as if they whole trip should be refunded in points.
Extremely close to the airport next to the bay with a great view of Coronado. Rooms are nice parking is a bit expensive but puts you within minutes of downtown and freeways.
Clean, modern hotel with a great pool, beautiful views, and a delicious restaurant. Not so comfortable beds.
We spent the night before our flight home. The fancier of their two restaurants served a delicious steak for dinner and an even more impressive breakfast buffet that includes made-on-demand pancakes. They have a large pool and a hot tub. Room was clean. My only complaint is that the bed wasn't particularly comfortable. Not bad, just average.
They failed to check me in properly and then locked me out the second night. Treated poorly while checking the second time, had to make yet another trip to front desk. Never again!!
Stayed on the 12th floor, amazing views to around us, I dont think there would be a bad room. I will say you do hear planes, but not very loudly. The breakfast on club level is nice, but only served basics. Valet is 37 dollars where self park is 35... So go with valet. Down side is all the smokers flock to the valet station.
This hotel is definitely not a resort - it's just a con to get an extra $26 out of you.
The outbuildings used as rooms by this hotel are terrible, particularly if it rains as it did during my stay. The carpets were waterlogged, there was plastic sheets covering most of the facilities, and sandbags ineffectively being used. Rain was pouring down from the ceiling which was impossible to dodge when leaving or entering the area.
When complaining, the staff did nothing to rectify the situation, the conference in the hotel was obviously far more important to them.
On top of all of this, the rooms are very close to the airport and have insufficient noise proofing. Even when staying at cheap airport hotels at busy airports like JFK the rooms have been much quieter.
The room service provided was expensive and the food was of poor quality, and was luke warm on arrival.
I would strongly suggest staying in the city, it's only a short drive even if you want to be close to the airport
Service and food in the hotel was excellent. I ordered the spinach salad with steak topping. The dressing was perfect and the steak was well seasoned and tender. The conference rooms were abundant and easy to get around
Great hotel: clean & comfortable, with heplful, friendly staff and great views of the marina. Conference rooms were good, as conference rooms go. Major complaint is location. Beautiful spot, but there are no restaurants nearby, except the ones in the hotel and a few about 1/2 mile away, and all of these are pricey. You can always get a rideshare company to take you to town, but that adds to dining costs. I existed on the hotel eatery foods, which weren't bad, but variety is limited. When I attend conferences, I usually walk to a place to dine, and that was not a possibility here.
Stayed for 4 days. Room was nice and comfortable. Day time front desk was wonderful but night time front desk was unpleasant. We ordered midnight menu room service. Menu describes it and makes it appear to be gourmet freshly made food. What we received was two prepackaged Starbucks item's. A spinach wrap and a soggy granola parfait. We didn't even order the wrap we ordered the sandwich. Which also ended up being another heated up Starbucks item. We were so disappointed at spending over $10 an item which was pulled straight out of a Starbucks freezer that we tried to return it. I had to talk to the front desk who continued to stared at me blankly for expecting some actually quality food from their hotel before calling to apologize to the "kitchen" on the phone right in front of me before quietly returning my money. I felt insulted and all they had to do was make it clear we were ordering Starbucks food instead of making it seem like it was prepared in their kitchen. We had ordered chicken pasta two night prior and it was bland, obvious that the chicken had been frozen and the bread rolls were cold and prepackaged. I would stay at the hotel again but i would stay far far away from any of their food. Also no free wifi? At least you can go to the deli next door that lets you use theirs for free. 4 stars? Right...
My experience with the staff, is what I would have expected at a motel 6, not the Sheraton. Parking is way too expensive. They charge for internet access. No short term parking, for dropping off/picking up, waiting etc. To close to airport runways. Taxi staging area across the street.
Walkable to fun evening restaurants, good size rooms with insulated windows for noise reduction. Contemporary desk area, although the check in desks look just like the bell captain's desk...but the functions are different!
Very nice, clean and quite hotel. Families with kids, recommend to stay in Lanai building since it has it's own pool and tucked away from restaurants and bars. Staff is very friendly and accomodating. Everything about this place is great in my opinion.
Happy that I chose to stay at the Hotel Sheraton San Diego Hotel and Marina. Job well done on accommodating me and my guests and their families. The rooms were exceptionally well decorated and clean. The entire world of Warcraft reloaded and they already have the speakers we will be working with the league of the South China sea level rise and your post apocalypse and that kinda of stuff.
Went for a conference which was held there for 3 days. It is 35 bucks to park here and there is a lot just across the street which is 10 bucks for 24hrs!. Look at the attached photos. PARK IN THE LOT ACCROSS THE STREET!
Absolutely stunning hotel, pleasant staff, beautiful environment. This was a great location for a conference, it was so much more enjoyable than the ole Convention Center.
Our SD go-to hotel. Awesome location on Harbor Island, great pool, chill, convenient access to Point Loma, Liberty Station, Shelter Island, downtown, OB, PB, etc.; killer grub at Coasterra and Island Prime/C-Level just down the street, etc. Can't go wrong. Sheraton SD is totally rad.
Return visit Apr. 7, 2021: Wonderful as always, though definitely on the dead side given COVID-19, though SD just moved from Red to Orange level today, which is obviously a positive. Always nice when Quinn's, etc. are open for food, delicious beers, etc. vs. just having the Market Cafe to choose from. Still, many awesome, convenient options just down the road - Tom Hamm's Lighthouse, C-Level, the newish Mexican joint at the end of Harbor Island (toward the city), Liberty Station, etc., and downtown is only a 10-min.-drive away. We always love The Sheraton San Diego Hotel & Marina. Our regular SD getaway go-to.
Very high quality hotel, but unclear conditions for pay ahead left me out of pocket for a business trip. Quiet room despite the fact that I was right across from the ice machine. Convenient to the airport. Comfortable pillow and bed, and five dollar voucher per non arrival or departure night for going green and skipping room service.
My family and I always stay at Sheraton when we travel and this will definitely be our last stay at any Sheraton. We had several problems... We originally requested to stay at the bay tower and the manager called and said the bay tower was closed. Upon arrival our rooms weren't ready and our reservation was made months in advance. We even spoke with a manager prior to our check in to assure there would be no issues, seeing as we had reserved multiple rooms for 8 days. They wanted us to wait 30-1hr for housekeeping to get one of the rooms ready. We spoke to a manager and she changed our room but acted as if she was doing us a favor by changing our rooms. The night staff at the front desk are rude and unprofessional . The mattress in one of the rooms was horrible, it was as if we were sleeping on the floor! Plus the hotel isn't clean , housekeeping does a half a@# job, the carpets need shampooing badly and the bathrooms are barely sanitized. The lobby looks great of course but once you get to your room its a different story. I called down and complained to a manager and she said she could move us to the bay tower b/c it was opening but it would have been to much of a hassle on our last night so she said she would comp us a free night for each room. So we check out tmrw, we will see if that's hassle free. I sure hope so
I do not recommend this hotel until they fix and renovate it. 12th floor, VIP Suite . A draft came through the sliding doors of the balcony since they were pretty old. As a result the room would only heat up to 68 degrees despite setting the heater up to 85 degrees. We had to turn it off for the night because otherwise it felt like you were sleeping next to a 15 year old fridge. This meant we were freezing at night and were not able to sleep despite sleeping like penguins together (not exaggerating, really couldn t sleep. It was THAT cold). In the morning we turned the heat back up secretly hoping it would work. Nope. The noise was horrible so I turned it back off but it wouldn t turn off anymore. So, we just stayed awake. On top of that before going to bed I tried to take a hot shower but the water wouldn t heat up. We called the lobby who send a mechanic to our room who was already in another room on the same floor fixing something. This young gentlemen was great and did everything he could. Unfortunately, he was only able to fix the shower but not the heater. Again, the mechanic was great and were glad he was able to fix one issue but he has to stay in our room for 20 minutes to work on the heater and the bathroom. Dear Management of Sheraton, please fix your rooms while there are no guests in the room instead of waiting for guests to call in the middle of the night. Worst stay ever and will not return. Oh and breakfast experience wasn t great either but this is long enough. :-)
I came for the national AVID conference and our room was charged to our district (9 educators came as a group). I was told on two different occasions by front desk staff my room would not be billed the resort fee. The last conversation took place upon check out. When I returned home a day later my card used for potential room charges was charged $89.77 for the resort fee. No other person in my group was charged indicating the other front desk staff had communicated correctly. I have filed a disputed claim directed from the front desk. I spoke to an individual on the phone, and two days later received a generic email stating I still would be charged with no credible reason. I realize in the grand scheme of things $89.77 is not a huge charge- but it is when you were misguided, and as I professionally attempted to be compensated only to be brushed aside. Very bad business etiquette. My recommendation is to check your bank statement days after your stay so the same does not happen to you.
Great hotel: clean & comfortable, with heplful, friendly staff and great views of the marina. Conference rooms were good, as conference rooms go. Major complaint is location. Great service. Amenities are nice. The gymnasium is very large and pool very clean and well taken care of. I did not get a chance to eat at the restaurant however room service was tasty. Would stay again and recommend to a friend.
Had a great stay. Very clean, everyone is very friendly. First night met Tonya who works in the restaurant. She's so friendly, welcoming, personable, fun, and really kind...oh and food was delish!!
