Hotel was great. Room was clean, quiet, and comfortable, with amazing views of both downtown and the harbor. All staff were extremely pleasant and helpful. Gym is extremely well maintained, and has plenty of strength and cardio equipment.

Some in-hotel amenities can be a bit overpriced, but with the Gaslamp Quarter and Seaport Village in walking distance, there are plenty of other options for food, drink, and shopping.

Loved it here! We stayed on the 22nd floor and the view was amazing. Upon arrival I asked if we could check in early and there was no wait. Everyone was very nice and friendly. Alot of great places around walking distance. Definitely staying here again!

I was excited to stay here. Newly remodeled rooms and good location, but was disappointed by a few things: 1. elevators were terrible. Long lines and wait practically each time we had to use the elevators. We had the club rooms, but in order to get there, we had to go to the ground floor and switch elevators to go back up to the club room. It sounds like a small thing but we had to deal with waiting 5-10 minutes each time just for the elevators. I suspect some were not in service. Multiple people opted to take stairs; 2) self parking is 28 and valet is 40, internet is 10/night; 3) club floor was nice, but the amenities are not worth the cost. Also too many kids in the lounge, so was noisy and found myself dodging kids; 4) got locked out of my room, and seriously needed 2 hrs to get back in. First, it took 30 min for the front desk to send up a bell hop with new keys (only after we called a second time), they continued to say that we must've bolted the door from the inside through a connecting room (but we cont to tell them the rooms are not connecting). They then sent up the lock person who went through the questioning yet again about having connecting rooms. After they confirmed the lock was indeed not working, they sent for the "master locksmith", who went through the same questions about connecting rooms for the third time. When he confirmed that it was NOT our fault, they then changed the entire lock on the door. We got an apology from the lock people, new keys and all in all, it took over 2 hrs which, to me, was unacceptable.
The positive things... it's close to the green line light rail, to seaport village and to the convention center. But realistically, there are quite a few hotels here that can claim the same thing.
All in all, I am really disappointed in this hotel. I will most likely use Marriott or Hilton on my future visit. Hope this review is helpful.

Most amazing view of San Diego from the top of the Hyatt. Service was awesome! Food and wine selection was great. The housemade chips and dip and the Salmon Carpaccio were excellent. One of my go to spots when guests come to visit San Diego.

Light above the door "blinks" all night when off, annoying! In the morning the shower pressure and temperature surges, almost unusable except I had to use it anyways... goes from ice cold to scalding hot and back again every minute! This was supposed to be a high-end property but it's badly in need of basic maintenance. I would not stay here again unless it was necessary for a conference like it was this time.

We really like the people who work at Manchester Grand Hyatt as well as the atmosphere there. There's even a whole old-school play area for kids. The prices are also decent... though the selection can be spotty.

Worst hotel I have ever stayed in. The thin walls keep u awake all night from ur neighbors, the pool area is disgusting, could not get service in sports bar, and u have to pay $26 dollars a day just to park at the hotel that is already overpriced.

We stayed at the Hyatt in San Diego Sea Port Village and had a great experience! Front desk, Lisa, helped us fix a mistake we made in booking at the wrong location. She went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of! The hotel was clean and the staff very courteous and friendly! We will definitely go back!!

Unfortunately had my roof pilfered and an iPad Pro stolen. I worked with the hotel security to ask for a review of the tapes to see who had entered my room, and while they were cooperative ultimately found me liable for the loss, despite having closed my door when I left. That would have been bad enough, but after calling the office of the General Manager, I was contacted by a nice person who said they would like to "make this right" but then was never contacted again. A decent place, but their lack of responsibility turned a $150 night into a $1150 one.

Great view and location. Service was good. Bed was firm so take that for what it is worth. The room was very dusty when we first got it, but they came back to clean it well upon request. Overall, it was a good experience.

We loved everything about this hotel. Service was very friendly and efficient. Got room on the 19th floor with beautiful view. But I think that every room would have nice view because of the location of the hotel. Location is very best and convenient to all attractions in SD downtown. Only 20 minutes walk to Little Italy area with many wonderful restaurants. Pool and gym are perfect. Sky lounge is amazing. The only part that spoiled our stay a little is loud neighbors next room and room service ladies loud talking in the hallway right after 8am.

Excellent hotel in a wonderful location but, sadly, the service needs improvement. I am a Hyatt Explorist so I know the Hyatt brand quite well and let me tell you... most of the staff at the Top of the Hyatt bar are in dire need of an attitude adjustment. The servers were condescending and rude to most patrons who came around noon for lunch on a Sunday.

The location was great and proximity to the bay was great. The hotel lobby, hotel grounds and pool area were great. The rooms were not! They are in need of a major remodel! The box spring had a noticeable rip and so did the window curtain. The bathroom was very basic and had a shower/tub combo with an old style shower curtain. You just don't see this in hotels anymore, especially expensive ones. The carpet did not look dirty but our feet looked dirty after walking on it. The sheets felt like plastic, and the down comforter (that they sandwich between two sheets to look like a cover) was older and dingy. I had a great time on the trip and really enjoyed the location but will not stay at this hotel again until they remodel the rooms.

This hotel is currently undergoing renovations. It's in a great location. The room is nice with a great view. It's quiet, comfy and clean. BUT the elevators and lobby are terrible! We are having to wait 15 - 20 minutes to get an elevator! Only two are currently working. The lobby is under construction so everything is outside with long lines. The pool on the 4th floor required a wrist band that we had to request after being turned away at the pool. Also the $25 per day resort fee is ridiculous.

Third time back to San Diego and second time here. The hotel and location are great. Right on the water and next to shopping and restaurants at the Seaport Village. The hotel is large and well appointed and the staff are friendly and accommodating.

Outrageously expensive for a mediocre hotel. While the pros far outweigh the cons for this hotel, the expenses are completely unjustified.

The family pool is not staffed (at least during the week in December that we were here). As well I stepped on a shard of hard plastic by the pool that had not been cleaned up from the night before. Told someone walking by about it, showed my foot and it to him and he did nothing about it. It is also just barely warm enough to use unless the temp is 75 or above. I found this aspect very disappointing, as it would have been lovely to have service by the pool which is something I would expect at a high end hotel (or at least a hotel that charges prices so high that you'd think it would be high end!).

The fees here are absolutely ridiculous. To park and a "resort fee" you will be charged $70 PER NIGHT! I mean come on.

The location is lovely and you can walk out the doors to the Seaport Village, which is not to be missed. A great shopping destination.

The Seaview buffet is also lovely.

Additionally, housekeeping occassionally didn't clean our rooms at all or until 8 PM.

As much as we loved our 7 nights here in San Diego, we will stay somewhere else next time due to the crazy fees, including parking fees. Very disappointing.

In short, if you choose to stay here, be prepared to spend an additional $1,000-1,500 in unexpected fees.

Recently stayed 7 nights at the Manchester Grand Hyatt. Overall the experience was good. Clean rooms & friendly front desk.
The location is perfect and easy walking to all the sights.
We did happen to stumble upon a great restaurant for breakfast, Richard Walker Pancake House. I highly recommend it. Don't let the long line out side fool you. It moves very fast and the food is delicious!
My only comment was that when I booked several months ago, I requested a room on a high floor and was told no problem. When we arrived, I was asked for $20 more per night to stay on a higher floor. Although I paid it, I did not think it was appropriate or good customer service. They also asked if I wanted to pay $55 more for a higher floor room and unlimited access to the VIP room. Tacky for a Hyatt.
