I was recently in San Diego for the Rock and Roll ...

I was recently in San Diego for the Rock and Roll marathon. We booked two rooms at the Sheraton San Diego Hotel & Marina. We checked in around 5pm and requested a late check out, the late check out is 2pm.

I wanted to rest, so we went straight to the room to take a quick nap before dinner. Off the bat, I'm not impressed with the room. It was kind of old looking actually. The tub made a weird noise when we walked on it, it felt like I was going to fall through. The bathroom didn't have a vent and the blow dryer did not work. The curtains didn't close all the way, so there was still light coming though on the left side and the walls are super thin.

I wanted to take a nap, but that was impossible, we had the noisiest neighbors. It was a family with little kids and a teenage daughter. The teenage daughter was outside on their balcony having a super loud telephone conversation. She was so loud, That my friend in the next room could tell you exactly what she was talking about. My friend was two rooms away from theirs. So while the daughter was outside yelling, the young kid/kids were inside jumping on the bed and play fighting and to top it off the tv was going as well. Needless to say I did not take a nap.

We go to dinner and come back around 10:30pm. Im still exhausted because I couldn't take a nap earlier. I walk into the bathroom to get ready for bed. I notice that they did not bring up a new blow dryer. Now, its close to 11pm. I'm exhausted and I have to be up early for the race. So I don't call to request one.

Next morning, I get up early go run my half marathon and come back to the room around 11am. We requested late check out, since check out was at 2pm. I tried to take a nap before we checked out and headed back home to Phoenix. As I'm falling asleep housekeeping tries to enter the room twice. Why would they have housekeeping check in on the room if we requested late check out? So I get up and get ready to leave. As we're ready to walk out, I walk up to the front desk and ask to verify that we will not be charged the resort fee on either room. I am assured that the resort fee was taken off both rooms.

Fast forward to today, I have two 29.30 charges to my card for the resort fee's on the room and the parking fee.

Clearly, Sheraton needs to work on their communication and notation. I've contacted the Sheraton and have not been able to get a refund.

So overall, is this hotel worth the money? absolutely not! All I wanted to do was take a nap, and I couldn't even do that!
