I love this hotel because it is in the heart of Downtown Raleigh. The staff are kind and attentive, and really embody the southern hospitality service. If you need to stay downtown, there is no better option.

Bathroom had maintenance problems, but otherwise a great place to stay. Convenient location - walking distance from some of the best spots in the city.
I always enjoy my stays here. Nice rooms, good restraunt, and very attentive staff. Almost always there is a mistake on my bill, such as wifi charges. But the mistake is always corrected before I have a chance to notice.
This time most of the downtown restaurants were closed due to weather, but the staff was very helpful and proactively offered a list of places that were open. If you need to stay downtown, the only great options are the Sheraton and the Marriott. You cannot go wrong with either. I prefer the Sheraton.
Everything was great, but there were some small bugs on the curtains. They looked almost like a cross between a roly poly (pill bug) and a lady bug. There weren't a whole lot of them, and I only ever saw 1 anywhere other than the window (I found one on my hat that was near the window) but we were on the twelfth floor so it was somewhat concerning
As of 11.28.2020, the hotel has been having hot water issues for the past 4 days. I had to move rooms three separate times just to be able to get a warm shower. Also, I had to be downgraded in the type of room I booked in the beginning. Overall the staff was nice and understanding of the issue. They didnt charge me for one of my nights to improve the my experience. Bed was nice. The hotel was clean. Just an issue with their hot water right now. Will call ahead next time to make sure this is not an issue before I return.
Friendly staff, Libby and restaurant are nice. Rooms, like seemingly all Sheratons, looks like it was built in the 1980s and not touched since. Dated rooms, got a handicap accessible room for some reason, so it had an awkward shower that basically floods the whole bathroom upon taking a shower. I looked inside the vent in the bathroom because it was making loud noise, and the filter was surrounded with a few inches of dust accumulation, clearly hadn't been replaced in years. Beds were fine, nothing to write home about. Convenient location to a few restaurants and bars
I was meeting someone at the hotel. There was a comfortable seating area with the Rio Olympics playing on a flat screen. Very enjoyable and relaxing environment. Woulf recommend or stay there myself if the need arose.
The best part of my stay was AMANDA at the front desk helping us with everything we need many questions and answers and just plain friendly banter , having a conversation with her was so enjoyable and she went out of her way to help us many times! Yes I would love to stay again because the hotel was great but would love to see her again . From Peter and Kasey
We had a nice weekend stay! The service was attentive but unobtrusive, the restaurant was really nice. A free breakfast buffet stocked with great food. All we could ask for in a hotel!
The room is nice, however, the service is lacking. It's my 3rd day here, and still no one came to clean it. I asked for my room to be cleaned 3x today. Once just before 8 am, second time just after noon, and the 3rd time just before 3 pm. I'm still waiting.
Lawrence will be the only reason I come back to this place his customer service was beyond 5 stars great place, great atmosphere, good people, and good food Jimmy V'S whoaaa stay here!!!
Nice hotel in the middle of town, close to everything. The pool was unexpectedly closed when we arrived with our children, but the management was nice enough to arrange for us to use the nearby YMCA pool, including transportation, which really pleased our children. Good job making a bad situation better!
We booked this hotel based on location. Appearance upon check in seemed great. Staff was friendly, but rates are misleading. Don't forget to add $14 to park across the street. The room was clean, yet outdated in the bathroom. No water pressure in the shower, air conditioning wouldn't cool our room, no free WiFi, no complimentary breakfast nor a water. Our TV didn't work and the beds were less than plush. Buyer beware....this place is going to charge for everything extra they can.
Upon check out, we expressed our concerns with the staff. They were apologetic, but offered no sympathy when it came to the bill. :(
Oh yeah, don't forget to keep a room key after checkout so you can get out of the parking garage....wow....what a cluster ****!
I have come to this particular Sheraton for several years after an event I go to over Memorial Day Weekend moved to the Raleigh Convention Center. It's nice to be slightly away from all the huff and puff of the convention - the staff are friendly, considerate, and accommodating and the facilities are beautiful and well maintained.
The rooms and lobby/common areas have been renovated, the halls of the floors with rooms have not been renovated or touched up much at all. However, for it's age, it looks exceptionally well and just as well maintained as the rest of the hotel.
I do miss the breakfast buffet, but the food at the restaurant is wonderful too, though on par with most hotel restaurant pricing. All in all, it's one of my favorite hotels.
The service was good. Checked in quickly. Had room service breakfast and it tasted great. Pancakes bacon and orange juice with coffee runs about $15. Was disappointed they got rid of their pool.
Be careful of this money hungry hotel. I made a reservation online and canceled it in less than 3 hours. They charged my credit card for the amount of the room when I had not checked in yet on top of canceling the reservation. I spoke with a manager on duty, can't remember her name but her attitude wasn't pleasant. The next day, they again changed my card for an extra fee because I didn't check in, after I opted to cancel. Next time I know to go to the Marriott down the street, for their experience is more refreshing.
The only decent thing about this hotel is its location. The hotel is old and not well maintained. The rooms are cramped, especially the bathroom. There is barely any space to stand in it. The room I had was freezingly cold, set to 60 when I first walked in and never warmed up past 72. I do not find these temperatures comfortable at all, not unless I am wearing a jacket. Maintenance people came in to check and claimed they couldn't help at all, since the central AC didn't have heating enabled and they had no space heaters available. When I was checking out, there was a space heater set up near the reception. Because it was so humid, the door to the room kept getting stuck, I could barely get it to open. Never staying at this hotel again.
As always, the Sheraton is a very accommodating venue for a professional summit. The staff was prompt and courteous. And the facilities we're adequate. WiFi, in the other hand, was very weak. Connections to the internet from within the conference room we were in would begin to drop off after 20 or more simultaneous connections.
I come here every year and the Sheraton has yet to give me a reason not to.
It's my 4th year of staying here and the rooms are clean as always, check in was fast and the front desk concierge was very friendly. While they do not offer free breakfast, the cafe downstairs has freshly baked pastries, fruit, bagels, ect. Faye's positive energy at the cafe was a great way to start my morning!
Nice enough place. The thermostat in our room was wonky, and room service charged me more than the prices that were listed in the menu, but everything else was fine.
I attended an event recently and the ball room had technological issues the entire time. Based on the prices of everything, I was expecting to be at a 5 star hotel, but with the technological issues, $9 shots of mixed drinks, and bubbly "laminated" flooring, I felt as if I was staying at a 3 star.
The stay itself was good. No issues with the room or facilities. However, we parked in the garage across the street and asked for the garage ticket to be marked/stamped for a free exit and they said they didn't do that. We didn't think much of it, however, after we left, found out from a friend that they did it for them.
Very pleasent and helpful staff. Used the valet service and they were very prompt. Hotel rooms were updated and clean and the location is great to downtown. Reasonably priced as well.
Hotel is pretty nice, the rooms aren't that big though. Getting around isn't that simple with only 3 elevators servicing 16-17 floors and a 1st floor exit only stairwell.
I've been to many events at the Sheraton and they've always been professional and courteous. The prices are very reasonable, the staff is attentive and the rooms are clean. While the parking is not ideal (can't help it with downtown Raleigh) its proximity to restaurants, bars and other activities helps.
All I can say is Wow!! This hotel sure does know how to make a guest feel important! When I arrived to check in, Preston Harris (Overnight Manager) helped me with the check-in process. He was phenomenal. Although they were having some technical difficulties (totally outside of their immediate control), I was shown exceptional empathy and a deep desire to ensure that I was fully satisfied with my stay. Every request I made was promptly greeted with 100% support and cooperation. Made me feel like royalty! Hard to believe a hotel could make me feel so emotionally touched. I would strongly recommend this hotel to any of my friends!
