What a wonderful place to stay. The amenities are great. The employees are fantastic & friendly. Holly goes the extra mile to make your check-in an easy & pleasant experience. Sunny, the concierge, is aptly named. He brings a sunny experience to everyone that comes to him for help or suggestions on places to go to. I needed help finding a Harley Davidson dealer in Sydney. He found it. He called them to verify they had what I needed. found me the bus route to take and then told me where and how to get my bus ticket.

Extremely poor service, requested turn down and had two idiots turn up who barged into our bathroom whilst we were trying to get dressed and then the idiots didn t even turn the beds down. Ordered rooms service and order and ice chocolate and this is what I received.

TRAVELLERS BEWARE. Recently stayed here and the guest services charged my personal Visa Debit card in lieu of company card. This left me with almost no money in my account. Have called several times in past 24hrs to resolve and have had almost no action except for them to accidentally try to charge my account again.

Very poor service. Suggest you think twice about staying here.

Really BAD experience. Dan the manager at the hotel is the rude person and if you request for anything the reply will be "noted" and then forget about it. Food quality is Zero and when it comes to room service most of the time everyone is busy and they will get back to you but next day. Horrible Service! Avoid this place and don't ruin your holidays.

Loved it apart from the price (but I think that goes for all the 5*s in SYD) and paying for wifi!! Really large suites, great view of the park. We stayed here while we were getting married and it was a great base for all our activities. Pros: spacious rooms, big tvs, good amenities, decent gym/pool. Cons: paying for wifi is ridiculous, smallish late night menu, rooms are functional but fairly boring.

This is an absolute treat and deserving of it's five star rating, but without the five star price. The rooms are exceptionally appointed, and if you are a starwood privilege member as I am an upgrade is verily available. The hotel can also cater for half day needs for that quick nap or get away (wink wink to all you players). There is a beautiful bar and restaurant to boot.

The rooms are great (recently done up) and beds so so comfortable. Do yourself a favour and ring them direct. They have better value packages direct than if you booked on line with one of the big accommodation website. We saved over $90 for an overnight stay by doing that including parking and breakfast.

Another bonus is that it is right next to the large shopping precinct in the middle of the city. Walk out the back door and you are there.

Attended an all day conference in the level 2 conference space. Excellent well maintained facilities and well designed interiors. There are multiple conference rooms of varying sizes opening to a common foyer area which looks over the hotel lobby. Catering was top notch, and staff very professional.

I booked a room with access to the excellent Club Lounge. My room was a delightful corner room very light and sunny with a great layout. I will be requesting the same plan next time.

The hotel is well located in Elizabeth Street opposite the park.

This hotel is simply very well managed. The staff goes out of their way to be of assistance. On a previous stay, I hit my head on the boot lid of the taxi delivering me and went to reception bleeding. The girl at reception could not have been more attentive. She immediately got a cloth wiped my head, put on an Elastoplast and asked if I would like her to arrange for a doctor. She then checked me in and later when I returned to my room she had left a personal, note enquiring after my health and if there was anything else she could do.

The level of service continues through this hotel in the F & B outlets and on the Executive Floor on Level 21 where the views are spectacular.

This is a very popular hotel and deservedly so. It is important to book early for your next trip to Sydney.

By international standards, this is a 4-4.5 star property, more for the service than for the building itself. I've been known to book a weekend here when they had a special on rates, and I always enjoy it -- although I enjoy it more when my room has a Hyde Park view. :-) (Go for the view if you can.)

But mostly what I wanted to talk about was Feast, the new name for the Botanica Brasserie (which seems to be otherwise unchanged). Sunday brunch is great. I wouldn't necessarily call it a phenomenal deal at full price (around $80), but for variety that will please everyone form young children, to teenagers, to your grandparents at a good quality level in a very nice environment, it's fabulous. I like that they do a good job of identifying items that are dairy-free and gluten-free on their buffet -- which offers prawns in the shell, bugs, crabs, limited sushi, salads (and real bacon you can top them with), a cheese area, some sort of steamed or grilled fish, other meat dishes, and, well, just lots of different things.

The one thing they could do better, I think, is offer optional smaller plates for those of us who tend to be of the plate-filler nature. :-) They've got the small dessert portion thing down though. Lots of mini and petit four sized sweets to choose from.

Went for FEAST buffet - this place is very limited and considering it is a 5 star hotel, was very disappointed. Would definitely not recommend this not even with the half price special. On a lighter note, they were fast and refilling all the empty trays, I guess that's one of the good things about having a limited selection.

Great location. Great service..... mostly......but beware the 'judge a book by its cover' assessment of you when checking in. This will determine how much they decide to charge you upfront for incidentals. In our case it was 40% of our overall room rate charge. Which for four nights was significant. Disappointing and archaic attitude.

I am a Starwood member and have been for 10 years....

I am a Starwood member and have been for 10 years. We frequent the restaurant at this hotel and our recent experience will probably mean I will never renew my membership or return to this hotel. We often go to the seafood buffet with a group usually upwards of 10 and many times upwards of 15. There is always an issue of the loyalty discount being applied under the Starwood program in this restaurant. After advising the restaurant we would have multiple cards and that the group was 10 they refused to honour the loyalty discount to the last 2 people advising under a single booking they could only apply the discount to 8 guests. I have had the argument with this restaurant on many occasions. Usually they honour the discount. On this Sunday night they did not, with junior staff on site there was no person available of any authority to discuss the matter with.I paid the bill disgusted with their attitude and will be perusing the matter with the office of fair trading. This restaurant is a disgrace, the seafood was bland, the crab was frozen as where the prawns, the meat in the chefs bar was terrible. the roast pork was over cooked and tough, the beef was so fatty I had to leave most of it on my plate, the lamb was a carcass left on the bench with a pair of tongs for you to try and pull the tough meat off it and then you had to content with chewing this tough meat to try and have a meal. At $100 a head I would say STAY AWAY. There were no Australians in the place. The restaurant was more like a Yum Cha restaurant with the quality of a Asian roadside food stand. If sheraton think that this is the quality that is expected at this type of establishment I would think this hotel won't be around for much longer. The previous weekend I frequented the intercontinental the staff professional, offers were above what I could even obtain as a Starwood member at this hotel and the restaurants superb. I have tried to book accomodation via the Starwood membership online and haven't been able to use my account. I have sent emails contacting them with no response. This organisation has outsourced it loyalty program and offers no service. It looks to me like the restaurant has been outsourced also, why else could it be so bad. I won't even give this restraint a start rating .. It doesn't deserve it. It's just plain terrible.

Mediocre rooms with brick wall views, wanted a king size bed but got two singles instead. The food is very average especially at the buffet. Having said that, the staff and service is excellent.

Came here for a conference hosted in the ballroom. The hotel was very nicely laid out, good amenities, comfy bed (although two singles joined together with a sheet rather than a queen). Food was nice for breakfast, lunch and dinner but the coffee is bitter. If you are a coffee connoisseur, I suggest either asking one of the staff to make one for you or go elsewhere as only drip coffee is freely available. Would come again for conference

I've stayed here 2-3 years ago. Great classic building but probably worst Sheraton I've been to in Asia. Facilities and staff service were all below par and yet for some reason the hotel is always busy (making it less of a pleasant experience in my view).

hired a suite for a romantic 40th birthday for my girl. the stay was absolutly lacklustre. they couldnt accomadate any of our requests on either an early check in or late check out. they couldnt get the right room ready on time (3pm in the afternoon check in) the bags were an hour late in getting upto the room and even then i had to call the desk to get them.
the rooms air conditioning was terribly loud.
The only staff member i met who was anything beyond coldly polite was the front door man (very much enjoyed a short chat with him) other than him the rest said not a word extra than needed and made the stay feel cold and efficient rather than a 500 dollar a night room.
the buffet in the morning was average. not bad but for a place like that i expected more.
Add in that i was double charged for the room and was told it would take over a week to get my money back. i was extremely annoyed by the time we left.
It had that feel of they look after their gold club members and forget the rest
All in all i will never stay there again and would not recommend it to anyone.
oh and i posted a negative review on their website which never got posted onto the website tho other reviews after mine was made were posted

My partner and I had an excellent weekend stay. All staff were very professional and the room was amazing. We could also easily walk to major landmarks like the harbour bridge and opera house, along with shops and restaurants. Highly recommended.

The Hotel is charming and perfectly located across from Hyde Pk. I have attended the seafood buffet many times & now find the service & variety a bit lacking. The seafood is fresh & tasty. Salads & some variety to mix with choices is being overlooked. 50% off special days means u can put up with some disappointment.

The hotel's location is great - you can easily take a sunny stroll through Hyde park or snoop around busy shopping malls or find a cafe or pub to chill at.
And it's just as well because the hotel itself is a bit ho-hum. Its not awful but it was definitely lacking the spirit and class of other 5-star establishments.
The staff were a mixed bag - the valet guys who tended us at the door were lovely but some of the desk staff we encountered seemed preoccupied, even disinterested. It doesnt matter how impressive the marble pillars are, if staff don't smile and try to be inviting, you instantly lose stars.
Our room was adequate but quite overpriced for what you got. Irrespective that our "city view" was more of an alleyway looking into office blocks, the room seemed average and lacked 5-star finesse.
I thought the rooftop pool would be the 5-star feature we were looking for but it was quite disappointing. The hotel pictures made it look amazing but it was alot smaller and too crowded. Then we got followed by a staff member who said we should have signed in at the spa desk - after another staff member had ushered us in!
Nonetheless we had a lovely weekend overall but we wouldn't stay here again by choice. Raddison Blu and Amora on Jamieson are far superior.
