I always have a good experience here. No, it is not modern and contemporary. It is old and nostalgic beauty with spacious rooms and comfortable beds. The tub and shower are nice with good hot water pressure. The staff is extremely accomodating and welcoming. I stay with family in Morocco but I always try to sneak away for a night or two at this establishment.

We had a very good week-long stay in early March at this hotel.
The rooms are spacious and clean. The garden is beautiful and well maintained, an ideal haven of peace to relax. The pool is large and well laid out with plenty of lounge chairs.
The staff are helpful and attentive, the breakfast is complete and plentiful, a big thank you especially to Ghizlane who spoiled us every morning with fresh orange juice and squeezed lemon, and his wise advice, thank you for his kindness and his availability.
We plan to return to the Marrakech meridian next year.
The proximity to the Menara mall and several restaurants right in front of the hotel is a real plus.

Honestly this hotel is fantastic.

Honestly this hotel is fantastic.
I agree with some of the reviews that the bathrooms/furniture feel old but they work well and are well maintained. The best part about the hotel is the entire feel. Its a Morocccan paradise. Theres a huge pool (open till 8 but no one bothers you if you swim past then), tennis courts and a huge outdoor dining area.

Live music played at dinner. The breakfast buffet was the best I ever had (omelette bar, someone making fresh Moroccan pancakes to order, someone pouring Moroccan tea on order), amazing jams and pastries, all kinds of meats.

Porter and concierge was extremely helpful. Would recommend you get a Marriott Bonvoy membership to be treated like royalty. Would definitely return. Thanks from Toronto

We were provided, early check-in, late check-out, upgrade to a suite ...overall really good service. Reception was very helpful with all our questions. I have ambassador status with Marriott ... which obviously helped. They also provided drink vouchers to the family. Pool side food and beverages were fun.

I previously stayed here two times nearly three years ago, and was very pleased in late 2019 to find the property upgraded. The hallways and public spaces look nicer, the rooms and furnishings are updated, and the service overall was clearly better. I also enjoyed the breakfast, a large buffet with more interesting selections and seemingly more authentic Moroccan items than before. Overall the property seems a much nicer experience. Also it's good to see the renovated bathrooms featuring quality Moroccan amenities made with Argan.

Despite Marriott's have eviscerated the beloved SPG program there really are a number of great touches here to please the elite members: a welcome letter from the GM, an enormous complimentary bottle of mineral water plus several little bottles, fresh flowers, a fruit plate, a plate of confections delivered mid-afternoon, a thoughtful holiday gift, the GM's cocktail reception, and so on.

And I was reminded during my two visits here this year how nice and tranquil it is off-season; you can sit outside your room if you're on the ground floor and listen to the birds chirping. Or sit poolside (also renovated and improved!) and relax for hours.

Not really a 5 star hotel. Dining rooms, reception and communal areas are nice ....rooms falling apart round the edges. Fridges not working...furniture looking tatty....no refreshments in the room.
Staff helpful and friendly....can get very noisy with the Mall and Cafes across the road but quitens at 23:00. If you're to at the back it's a bit quieter but not much.
Convenient location...ample parking...

The 3 star is just for the well kept grounds and food service staff . Other than that, is nowhere close .the reception lack a lot of customer service skills. I' d say a mess. It took too long to check in way too long . I understand it was the hot season, however, things should be prearranged and manger in advance so that they keep a smooth flow .The room is below decent as as far furniture is concerned.
The huge down fall is the receptionists not professional at all.I truly dont recommend this hotel

Nice hotel not new like other hotels in Marrakech ... Staff are staff looking for their own interests ... this is normal. The demand is large and the supply is small ...

The city of Marrakech will lose in the future when there is an alternative

Let's get the big issue over first, It's dated. The hotel is clean and nearly all of the staff have been uber polite and helpful (except one grumpy housekeeper lady). On checkin, we were offered the choice of rooms and even had a quick look in them both before we chose a room overlooking the pool. Breakfast is amazing and the pool is fantastic, although not heated, so quite cold in April, but I still managed a swim with my 4 year old daughter. Wifi is fast and reliable. There are a couple of restaurants in the hotel and a large mall directly oppersit with loads of eating options. So as long as you can look past the dated and tired furniture, you will have a great time here. About a 20 min walk to the old town.

I don't usually complain about other people's attitude but the woman at the front desk was pretty rude - had a question about ATM and she acted like "I don't really want to talk to you". I called front desk another time trying to extend my current stay and the person responded "call me 10 min later."

Room was a bit dated. Breakfast was good. Location is ok - it's next to a mall with plenty of restaurant options but a bit far from all the tourist attractions.

We had such a great time here. It's in a great location with a supermarket and mall directly across the street and an easy 15 minute walk to the Medina. An exceptional breakfast buffet, great pool and nice rooms. Best of all was the friendly and helpful staff. Chief concierge Youssef Momouni was incredibly helpful both before and during our stay. He arranged pickup at the airport, guided us to some of the best places to eat and was always one step ahead. He also had an excellent recommendation for a Spa and Hammam in the old city. This is a great hotel with better prices than most of the resorts. Highly recommend them!

Stay from 2nd to 9th May 2018
The rooms are not modern but o.k. The maids have worked well and very clean.
Gastronomically it was under any criticism. The dining room was dirty, used tables were not cleaned. In the morning you had to organize napkins yourself. Service staff was very close. However, 4 head waiter, who only stood around and did not even return a morning greeting, let alone have an open ear for a request or a question.
For us that means NEVER AGAIN!

Great location, gardens, landscaping. Bedding, pillows not at the bra d level at all, rooms are outdated but kept well. Great breakfast with long lines, 2 restaurants but both smoking. All in all a mixed bag.

This hotel is a total disappointment. I cannot believe the high ratings it has received???? I traveled there this weekend with a group of well traveled people and the concensus was "Ick." The bed's were super hard which made it hard to sleep. The bedding was very basic - like you might expect if you were staying at a hostel. The curtains in the bedrooms were paper thin so a plastic liner was behind them to create privacy. But the plastic liner in my bedroom was ripped letting in the light in an odd manner. 30% of the group I was with moved rooms once or twice due to their original rooms not being suitable. (doors did not lock properly, heating or cooling did not work, the TV did not work, etc.) In some cases, the new room brought a better result but in other cases it did not. The bathrooms were also undesirable. Not a proper shower curtain in the tub. These waterproof curtains were wrinkled??? The shower head sprayed water in all directions but onto ones body. It would be hard to find a worse shower. The Breakfast food was of good quality. However, the tables were only set with a knife and fork.....so everyday we had to hunt servers down to get a spoon for our tea or coffee or yougurt. It was hard to find napkins. The breakfast did have cups to take away coffee/tea with - which was appreciated. The Front Desk staff NEVER had change. I.e. they could not help guests with smaller denominations of currency. This would be a HELPFUL service to guests who are given only 100's and higher. This is my 3rd trip to Morocco. I am sure there are much better places to stay for the money.

Lovely hotel with gorgeous grounds, good bell desk, but Horrible front desk service. Long wait to checkout along with inaccurate billing. Convenient location to the medina, shopping mall, train station and the airport. Hopefully Starwood will improve the service.

Very pleasant hotel, the rooms are okay but rather shabby and could use new furniture or a proper cleaning here and there. Otherwise it is pleasantly quiet and there is a nice pool. The breakfast is extensive from the selection.

Hotel is situated opposite the menara mall. It is okay for north Africa, but not 5Star standard as they claim. Breakfast is not that great and the smell of cooking in the Breakfast room horrible. It has a spectacular garden however.

rating may have been higher if the le meridien was not branded a 5* hotel.

we stayed for two nights - bedsheets had stains/marks, and towels were clearly due for replacement (really thinned out, strange chemical smell, stained and not even white anymore) - quite disgusting actually.

the walls are extremely thin - and we could hear every drop of water when the guest next door was taking a shower!

i note that management responded to previous reviews saying 'corrective measures' would be taken to improve customer satisfaction. but i am not sure if things have changed much - perhaps they are doing it all at once with the planned renovations.

the only positive was the pool that we enjoyed in the very hot weather.

ps. internet was not working - so we walked across the road to use the wifi at the mall.

Great property for our 1st visit to Marrakech. Its about 20 minute walk to Kotobuia and Medina. Food is pretty good the sleeping rooms need updating. But we did not spend much time in the rooms anyway. Western style bar with decent alcohol selection which is a bonus in Morocco.
