We drove 6 hours for our Easter break, paying top dollar price for the vacation-period booking but found the property very dated and unappealing. The furniture and other stuff in the unit are surprisingly worn-out and in a rundown state.
I was told it was a unit with a lazy river view but see the attached picture of the view I have, and the rundown condition of the furniture in the unit.
Even the room was not smelly fresh when we entered, nor was it set at a pleasant temperature. Although it was clean.
It's not worth the so-called top Marriot Vacation Package that we were sold and the Gateway price of $1,200+ we paid for this place. (Plus 1,000+ annual Maintenance.)
On entering the unit and seeing the state of the unit, I immediately called guest services to get it addressed, but no one answered. No one has returned my calls so far. So I am sharing this with all potential visitors.
Do check out the unit yourself and make sure it's not a waste of your time and money before you make a non-refundable booking and get disappointed. More importantly, I believe it's a waste of my precious vacation time with my family.
Do look at the pictures of the unit, furniture, patio door handle, kitchen cabinets and take your call.
I haven't had a chance to check out the rest of the property and services yet, but I will update here when I do.
-------
Update to the earlier review:

We didn't want to waste any more of our precious vacation time holed up in this rundown unit. Since there was no effort by the Marriott/Sheraton staff to address our concerns, we checked out after just two night, even though our 7-night package was non-refundable.

The Kids Department Activities Staff are oustanding. The maintenance of the grounds and buildings are great. Downfall is housekeeping. Our hallways and trash room has not been touched in 4 days. Also we requested again this year a close building. My husband has health issues. Once again we got the furthest building they could. Why request when you will not accomendate. I booked way in advance and was checked in by noon. Plenty of time of find me a closer room.

Stayed here for a little bit. Great accomodations and everything was nice! Wasn't able to get out much because the weather was nasty... Lots of rain. But no complaints about the property. The gym and the pool were open. However, you had to make a reservation for the gym and they are in 45 minute increments.

My family and I stay here almost every year, and have been for about 15 years. It's a very high quality resort and a second home to us. The pool is always well kept, and there's plenty to of activities to keep someone occupied on their vacation.

As timeshare owners of Sheraton Resorts, our family was looking forward to our annual vacation in our supposed "home away from home" in Myrtle Beach. We arrived in our unit greeted by stains and bugs crawling in the carpet. After the first night's stay my husband awoke with 75+ bites over his entire body and my 2 year old son with several on his hands! After removing the mattress and using a flashlight we were able to see several bed bugs actually moving on the box spring! We contacted the front desk immediately to complain. A building engineer was sent up to inspect and told us that a third party pest control company would have to come out to confirm that he saw bed bugs. We were given another room, yet were told we were not allowed to bring any of our belongings, but that we should still go out and enjoy our day. How is this even possible when my husband was itching so badly it hurt? Not only that but we didn't feel comfortable leaving our items in the room while people were to be in and out inspecting them. Our new room was also filthy with greasy floors, a leftover sausage pattie on the kitchen floor and a stained couch. We called for housekeeping and no one showed up until the next day after multiple complaints. The front desk representative, Bonnika (sp?) handled our situation with the utmost lack of apologies and sincere concern for our family. She exhibited incredibly unprofessional behavior with eye rolling, sighing and an argumentative approach to dealing with our disappointment. We were felt to be at fault for not checking our beds before sleeping on them. I do not believe they fully understood the gravity of the situation. To wake up with bed bug bites covering your entire body is just so violating! Obviously, the resort needs to make serious changes to their cleaning protocols, guest services representative training, and management team. The Sheraton Broadway Plantation Resort and even Corporate valued our physical and emotional distress at the cost of just one night's stay. Yet, here we are on day 3 of our vacation, sitting at Urgent Care for 3 hours and still unable to enjoy our vacation. Needless to say, will never be returning here and warn other families to find somewhere else to stay!

Every time we've stayed here, the check-in experie...

Every time we've stayed here, the check-in experience continues to get worse...and this time topped them all. Arriving promptly at 4pm (per listed hotel check-in time), after I waited at the desk to be assisted by the multiple representatives who were available, but too busy at their computers to attend to me, I was told that our room was not yet ready since I requested no feathers. I was told it would be at least another hour before it was ready. That probably wouldn't be an issue for most people, except I had my 3 children in the car, bursting at the seams to get out after the long road trip. I was told they would call my cell when my room was ready, but in the meantime, I could change in the restrooms and head to the pool. I was then sent over to another desk to pickup my parking pass, where I was promptly hard-pressured to sign-up to listen to the 90-minute time-share presentation, when all I really wanted to do was get my parking pass. Since I was already having to forfeit an hour of my vacation because my room wasn't ready as promised, why would I want to give another 90 minutes of my vacation away? After finally getting our parking pass, we headed to the restrooms near the pool to change. Eww is all I can say. I told my kids not to touch ANYTHING. We then headed over to the children's area with the pirate ship. It was very enjoyable, as we previously experienced, with wonderful and friendly life guards. Finally, my phone rings to tell me our room is ready. As I head over across the large pool area to the front desk to get our keys, I encounter multiple puddles of vomit (at least 5-6) along the sidewalk headed into the building. At this point, between the check-in process, time share harassment, filthy bathrooms and now the vomit, I'm ready to just pack up and head back home - but my kids would've been very disappointed. So I closed my eyes and picked up my room keys. Our room itself seemed clean and the features were nice. However, it was very stuffy in the bedroom as no air movement occurred - the only ceiling fan is in the den. We had a premium room (King Bed, Sofa Bed, Whirlpool tub), and as we prepared for bed the first evening, we noticed we had no sheets for the pull-out sofa bed and only 3 sets of towels for 5 people. No big deal - I called the front desk and requested them. Well, two hours and three phone calls later, they finally arrive. At this point, the kids are beyond ready to be asleep since it's 11pm. The room is also not very sound-proof, and during the night we could hear every flush of the vortex toilets around us (don't let your kids flush the toilets, it will scare them). And then on our final night, I was greeted in the middle of the night by a cockroach crawling across the floor in the kitchen. I was packed and ready to head home before sunrise. During our visit, we spoke to multiple time share owners who said they feel that the quality of the property has gone down over the years - affirming our decision not to come back to this property unless significant improvements are made...including front desk staff.

It felt like home as soon as we walked in! The rooms were of decent size, VERY well kept, and VERY clean. The entire facility as a whole was very well maintained. Upon arriving, we were given a weekly schedule for different activities that would go on at the resort. There was something to do from sun up to sun down. Out of everything, my kids enjoyed the indoor pool, being that is was quite chilly during our stay. Another perk was the office staff gave us a packet listing containg all the restaurants that offered delivery. My family agreed that the Sheraton would be our go-to vacation resort from now on.

UPDATE:

UPDATE:
We have pictures of the bug, but they wont let me post it. They keep rejecting pics of my husbands bite marks and the bug because they know they are wrong.

This was hubby and I 1st time coming to this resort. From the pictures it looks really clean and comfortable. Our room was nice and cozy, but around 4am on our 1st night there my husband got bit by a bed bug, he ended up killing it and taking it to the front desk. The manager put us in another room, and had a expert say "it wasnt a bedbug but he couldnt tell us what type of bug it was". So Im like we showed you the bite and the bug but you a bug expert but cant tell us what type of bug you are looking at. I just think the company didnt wont to be held responsible so they sent in a flake to give us a bogus explanation. Our experience there was absolutely horrible, because the other room they put us in had a dead roach in the kitchen. For it to be a Sheraton it wasnt great like we assumed. I will NEVER stay at this hotel again and the manager wasnt as accommodating as I felt she could of done more.

Great room layout and amenities. Would have loved to give this place 5 stars but I reduced it for two main reasons. Beds have no hepa sheet or similar to prevent bed bugs not even a fitted sheet. Basically just a loose sheet over the bed. Second miss for me was the max pool depth in any other the pools is 4ft. Not having even one pool at 5ft is just crazy to me. Staff was super kind though. Overall would give them 3.5.

Very good stay, clean good location well equipped. Just odd rules for pool item returns, and unusual closing hours for access to towels and floats for the pool. Other than that I'd stay again.

The Sheraton is a beautiful hotel, with all of the amenities that one could possibly need and/or want. The staff are incredibly accommodating and, having stayed over major holidays and peak summer season, always find a way to make the stay as spectacular as it could be. The hotel itself is walking distance to major attractions on the boardwalk, and just minutes from just about anything you could want to visit as a tourist in myrtle beach.

I checked in on 8/10/2020. The first room we had (room 1130) had multiple flying cockroaches and found a water bottle in the master room. Per COVID guidelines we were assured the room was cleaned thoroughly, however I felt at risk when I found trash in an open area. Housekeepung clearly did not uphold the Sheraton COVId policy. I feel my family was put at risk. Also the patio sliding door was inoperable. We were moved to a different room and given a $75 credit after arguing with management. Instead of actually owning up to the problem they just kept saying I appreciate your concerns. In between moving rooms my daughter realized her bracelets from my mother were gone. Mind you it was my daughters birthday we werw celebrating. Not once did the manager acknowledge her birthday. The best experience was during my sales presentation, especially my sales representative. The preview center people were welcoming and were genuine. They wished my kid the best birthday ever. The new room we moved too (room 1040) had a faulty lock to the door. We actually got locked inside, we ended up having to shut the door lightly leaving it unlocked in order to avoid getting trapped again. The next day downstairs we ran into supervisor of housekeeping Shannon who was the first to listen to the problems and actually get them fixed immediately. The dishwasher didnt work it had a burning smell. There was a metal clip that had broken off in the 2nd room under the closet that had rusted that was a hazard. The separator from the 2nd room to the bathroom the door was shoved in so far it didn't work. Without his assistance I felt our maintenance concerns wouldnt have been addressed. Then to top it off a false complaint about noise and having security show up to your door at 1030p with 5 sleeping kids was not appropriate. A call to address the concern would've been appropriate, if no answer, then showing up would make sense. Contacted management and once again I felt that she just could care less.

I am very disappointed with our recent stay at the Sheraton Broadway Plantation. When we made our reservation friends brought to our attention that the resorts lazy river pool and kiddie pool were under renovation and they don t think it would be complete before our arrival but there site stated to be complete by 3/31/18. I personally called the resort directly in 3/23/18 and was advised that all renovations have been completed and pools are all open. Upon arrival to my surprise the lazy river pool and kiddie pool were closed and under construction, so I was lied to and we had young kids traveling with us which made this very unfair. If the resort was honest we would of stayed at another location with better accommodations. To say the least I noticed today that my debit card has been charged three times for the room charges and contacted my bank to verify as well. I contacted the resort spoke to the manager Sam who contacted their processing center and called me back to advise they only charged it once and that my bank must of processed it three times. Seriously that was not what happened. It was incompetent people that didn t know how to process a payment, now I have to file claims and wait 10 days to get my money back. Nice going

Very clean and comfortable with updated amenities. It also has a very pleasent and comfortable landscape and setting. The interior has everything that you would need without making it feel like a ration pack put together for quick turnover

A man drowned in the Lazy River today and no one was prepared for that. They need to run drills on this. It was very disorganized response and they didn't even know if they had an AED. There needs to be a standard operation procedure for this!

The most family friendly resort we've been to. Our boys are 2 and 5 mo old, and our two year old loved the pirate ship splash cove with slides and more water parrty like activities. The room is a two bedroom villa with a full kitchen. We love it here, for the price it's worth it.
