I've been here 2 times and both times were amazing. The staff is great, rooms are clean and the atmosphere is both upbeat and relaxing. Love this place!

Best place ever! Visit every time we are in Clearwater!

BEWARE, BEWARE OF ONLINE BOOKING DIRECTLY THRU THE SHEPHARD'S BEACH RESORT WEBSITE. I TRIED RESERVING ON MY PHONE ONLY TO ENCOUNTER A BUFFERING CIRCLE OVER AND OVER AGAIN. SINCE I DID NOT GET A CONFIRMATION NUMBER AND THE BUFFERING CIRCLE WOULD NOT GO AWAY I CALLED THE HOTEL TO MAKE THE RESERVATION OVER THE PHONE AND EXPLAINED TO THE HOTEL ATTENDANT THE PROBLEM I EXPERIENCED WITH THE WEBSITE. I MENTION TO HIM THAT I HAD A REFERRAL CODE BECAUSE A FRIEND OF MINE HAD STAY THERE HE APPLIED THE DISCOUNT. THE DAY THAT I ARRIVED AT THE HOTEL THEY TOLD ME I HAD FIVE ROOMS RESERVED!!!! WHEN IN FACT I HAD ONLY RESERVED ONE WITH THE ATTENDANT. IT LOOK LIKE THEIR WEBSITE RESERVED THE OTHER FOUR AFTER I LEFT THEIR WEBSITE BECAUSE IT DIDN'T STOP BUFFERING. I'VE BEEN IN A DISPUTE WITH THE HOTEL AND MY CREDIT CARD FOR ALMOST A MONTH. THE MANAGER SAID THAT THE ONLY THING HE COULD DO IS TRY TO SELL THE ROOMS EVEN THOUGH IT WAS THEIR WEBSITES FAULT. THE HOTEL IS VERY WELL SITUATED IN CLEARWATER BEACH. THE POOL IS ON THE SMALL SIDE. I WAS THERE WITH MY ADULT KIDS AND HUSBAND CELEBRATING MY 44TH BIRTHDAY AND THEY KEPT ASKING FOR MY ID AT EVERY BAR IT WAS RIDICULOUS. SUNDAY'S THIS HOTEL TURNS INTO AN OUTSIDE NIGHTCLUB THEREFORE SECURITY CAN BECOME A LITTLE AGGRESSIVE TOWARDS IT'S GUEST DUE TO CROWD CONTROL. I LOST MY ID WHICH WAS MY DL. I CALLED THE HOTEL TO SEE IF SOMEONE HAD TURN IT IN AND I WAS SO HAPPY WHEN THEY SAID THEY HAD IT. WHEN ASKED IF THEY CAN MAIL IT TO THE ADDRESS ON THE ID AT FIRST THEY SAID NO BUT AFTER SPEAKING TO ONE OF THE GIRL MANAGERS AND SUGGESTING THAT ALL IT WOULD TAKE TO MAKE A GUEST HAPPY IS 45 CENT STAMP SHE AGREED TO MAIL IT. A WEEK LATER WHEN I DIDN'T RECEIVE IT, I CALLED BACK AND THIS TIME THEY SAID THEIR POLICY IS TO TO SHRED THE ID'S AND THEY HAD SHREDDED MINE. I WISH THAT THEY WOULD OF TOLD ME THAT OVER THE PHONE AND I WOULD OF GONE IN PERSON TO PICK UP MY ID. I ALSO WORK WITH CUSTOMERS IN MY OFFICE WHO AT TIMES LEAVE THEIR DL BEHIND AND WE TAKE PRIDE IN MAKING IT A POINT IN RETURNING A VERY IMPORTANT PIECE OF DOCUMENT FOR EVERYONE LIKE A DRIVING LICENSE. I WAS VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH THE POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE THIS HOTEL OFFERS.

Really nice resort to stay in Clearwater and party!

I have visited shephards beach resort several times with family and friends and always had a wonderful stay. However,fathers day weekend my wife and her girl friends celebrate her birthday there. We observed several small and larger dead and Alive ROACHES throughout the rooms. The ROACHES were in two of the three rooms we occupied. This was reported to front desk and we're waiting to here back from management. ......... Stay tune........

Great place to go dancing. The staff is really friendly and service is fast. The only reason I give it 4 stars is because there is a serious lack of women's restrooms.

Totally awful experience. Arrived in the evening and didn't realize our room was right in front of the entertainment area. Loud and noisy. Asked if we could change rooms after only being in the room for 15 minutes and was told no. We then had to completely change resorts for our vacation. Attempted 3 times to contact management and no one would return my calls. Do not stay here if you are looking for a peaceful vacation. If you want to party 24-7 then this is for you.

Took my daughter there for drinks and dinner for her 32nd birthday. We had a lovely time. Enjoyed the music. And of course the food on the buffet was great!

For the money, Shephards is the most fun on Clearwater Beach. The bands play until two in the morning, There are lots of beautiful people in their 20s and 30s, not really a family resort.

This place need to shut down. I seen more mouses then people. Stuff horrible and rude.
Nightclub terrible and full with thief employees.

Amid all this corona mess... this was such a great place to get away for a couple of days. The place was clean and the weather was amazing. On top of all that, Jose was unbelievable. His customer services far exceeded our expectations. He made our trip much more enjoyable! We will be back!

It is placed on a beautiful quaint beach and the brunch buffet is AWESOME. Attentive staff with great attitudes. I didn't get the pleasure of staying at this resort though.

If you're looking for night life this is a great spot! Hands down we found the best mojito on the entire beach at SALT, the tequila bar! Make sure Nick makes it for you!!!! Food was ehh, but the nachos were pretty dec. The outdoor club was pretty fun (heavy security for all you party-goers) and the little indoor club is super cute and intimate. We happened to see timmy trumpet the 2nd time we went which was random but pretty sweet. Definitely a wide range of people here!!

Food was good. Are waitressed seem to not have a good day.

Didn't stay at the actual hotel. We were there for the night life. Would not go back because of shady business tactics. 10 cover to get in. It was our first time there and we didn't know there would be a dress code. No tanks. Someone in my group was wearing one. Instead of telling us at the door they waited until we wanted to go into the actual club. They wouldn't let him I'm and we called them out on not telling us but still making us pay they kicked us out. Was horribly handled.

Had a girls weekend this weekend. Rented two rooms and it was well worth it even though it rained all weekend! Will go back in the future!

Band played 20 minutes and then took a break, horrible music in between, multiple people left ,still waiting for a band that only plays until 12

Had a wonderful time on the water at Shepherd's. The band was extremely entertaining and the water and views are beautiful. I will be back for sure. The buffet was very tasty too. Had a great day.

Used to be an awesome place. Security was rude lacking customer service. The valet only parking was annoying. I had my kids in the pool while loading the car was going to go back in to have lunch and let the kids swim before the ride home but was told I had to pay for parking again, because I was checked out which isn't cheap. Had to leave with my girls crying. Not to mention roaches in our kitchen in the 2 bedroom suite.

My son had his wedding reception here. The service was great and so was everything else. I highly recommend it to anyone.

Gotta love Florida's beaches! You can literally wake up, eat, enjoy the beach all day and all nite.

This used to be my go to place in Clearwater for a good time. However recently they have changed requirements for rooms to a minimum of three nights making it difficult to make reservations and additionally the crowds at the bar/beach area have been drying up for the daytime making it less of the go to it used to be. The nights are still wild but that was never the draw for me.

Great prime rib and seafood buffet. Crowded and and tables are to close together but it was Saturday night so we can chalk it up to that. We will give it another try.

Loud music every night till into the early hours. Ridiculously loud. We paid for a gulf view and stayed out most nights to watch the sunset somewhere peaceful. Will not be coming back to anywhere near this hotel as it can be heard for miles down the beach. A real pitty as this is a beautiful place with the most stunning sunsets.

Always fun times checking out live music and a mostly younger crowd. Prepare yourself for $20 (or more) valet parking, there s no street parking to be found. Also, drinks are pricey but well-crafted.

This place is awesome. The views and the music are unquestioningly the best on the beach.

Todd the manager is awesome and goes above and beyond! Thanks to Todd, I was able to "pick up the check" for my mom and best friend for their first time at Shephard's even though I was a thousand + miles away! Every time I've gone to Shephard's I've enjoyed the food and atmosphere. The staff is always super friendly! Now that I don't live in Tampa anymore, it is on the list of places to go every time I'm back in town!

We stopped in for the breakfast buffet. The service was good, the food was good, and it was a good value.

Pleasantly surprised. Great atmosphere decent prices and awesome service. We will definitely be back. Without the kids! A band plays until 2am every night. Not a rambunctious crowd, but still a little too loud for the kids. Other than that awesome town and resort.

Absolutley awsome hotel. The food, entertainment, beaches, location everything about this place is perfect. Great place for the family or for a couples get away. We come here every year in april and have a better time than the last everytime we come.

My Wife and I came to celebrate a friends Birthday and our Anniversary. We had a Great Time!!! Everything you need in one spot!!!!! This will be an annual deistination, from now on!!!!

We enjoyed the atmosphere out in the water!! We came by boat for the 4th of July. Had no problem setting anchor, plenty of space.

I love that there is everything you need in one place and it's a little more private. The beach is open to the public but most tourist don't know that. So it's always packed. They have rentals right there. Great food and drinks. The pool is for people staying at the hotel and they have a club that's really nice right on the ocean. But it is always freezing in there so keep dancing lol

I went today like I have for 2o yeRs... I was robbed by valet...they stole 80 dollars my lottery tickets and my ashtray that I know of for sure..I have to check everything...they rifled through everything..not sure what else is missing but no one helped me and I received no compensation ..needless to say I wont be back. I spend too much money there to be robbed too..I paid 25 for parking just for them to rob me.

The buffet is okay. I wouldn't call it good or bad per se because it depends on what day you go. The crab legs can be hit or miss as far is having a fishy taste. This most recent visit the butter on the buffet wasn't kept at proper temp so it was forming cooled chunks of butter fat in the melted butter. There are no sides for non breakfast items, it's basically entrees and breakfast. Most recent visit the dessert chef or cook must've been having problems because nothing was properly set, watery custard, chunky creme brulee etc. Service is usually good. It can be good awful hot in there so be warned. I asked and they said they can't cool it because of the windows.

We left Holiday Inn next to Shepards because it was not what we expected. My husband, son and I LOVED IT!!!!! All the staff was amazing, the pool and beach we're amazing. The restaurant was great. We will definitely be back to Shepards :)

Really stupid place for a hockey tournament to use for the teams to stay live music every night 7 days a week ending between 12 a.m. and 3 a.m. how does one sleep and play hockey in a s******* like this.

Can't get a manager to the Tiki bar to change the tv station to a game I prefer

This has/had the potential to be a nice hotel but they're lack of customer service due to several unthoughtful decisions really ruin this place. First of all, you have to valet your car, you absolutely cannot park it yourself. While they do valet for free, this can be really inconvenient for those of us with children or disabilities. I even asked the front desk, who then said I have to ask the valet (really front desk, you can't handle a guest request?) who said we cannot. Our room was 20 feet from the elevator door that leads right to where our car was parked, yet I can't park it or keep my keys? If I don't want to use your valet, then I as a hotel guess shouldn't have to. Do they really inconvenience their hotel guests just to earn valets some tips? I would be more than happy to pay a self parking fee for the convenience. Next, you can't get a luggage cart without an escort. Once again, really? I can carry up my own bags without the need to wait 20 minutes for an employee. Is this again just to earn employees tips? I would again pay more to not have this. Just have lugguge carts guests can use like every other hotel. Oh, and by the way, I wouldn't need a luggage cart if I could get to my car, but see point one about that. Third, you cannot get pool towels at the pool, but at this point why would I expect that? You have to go to the front desk and can only get one towel per person and they charge 20 per towel if you don't return them by the end of the night. I agree to charge for people who steal towels but at a beach hotel with a pool, I think you need towels by the pool. Also, they charge you if you don't return them that night and they track it on a card at the front desk that any employee can accidentally mix up. Also the pool days towels need to be returned at 10pm, the front desk says 1030pm, but the pool is open to 11pm? So if you stay in until closing, don't use a towel, or expect to be charged for them. Last points, the breakfast buffet is decent but not much better than the free breakfasts at other hotels nearby. The hotel snack store closes really early, and the rooms are not the cleanest. This hotel definitely caters to the rowdy nightclub guests that come on the weekend rather than people who spend money to stay at the hotel. This hotel would seem a lot better had it not been for all the other better hotels nearby. If considering this place, I would reconsider for something like the edge, which is right next door with a better pool and much better service.

The service and food in this restaurant is excellent. They have large crab legs and delicious prime rib and shrimp.

I just went to the bar. It's right on the beach. Very mild and laid back crowd. The live band was very entertaining. I would definitely love to go back.

The music at night on Friday-Sunday is so ridiculously loud that the whole room shakes and tv volume has to be set high than the music. However during the day the music is loud enough to enjoy at the beach or pool without it being Shaking the room or drowning out the tv. Also the buffet is ok

Hotel new and very comfortable. There is a private beach and a beautiful pool.

Valet parking. Nice access to beach. Convenient to good restaurants and shopping.

We love this place! Fun atmosphere, good drinks, and the remodel they just did on the bathrooms are fabulous !

I would not recommend this resort to anyone. Terrible customer service and disappointing stay! Greg the manager is terrible. When we arrived at Shephard's, we were informed that we did not have a reservation for our stay, which we had booked months in advance. When we presented the front desk person with our confirmation page, Greg who must have been the hotel manager, stepped in to take over. He took one look at our confirmation and threw it back down and stated that our confirmation was useless. He was incredibly rude to us and within a matter of 15 minutes he had found that we indeed did have a reservation. It was not an enjoyable experience having to sit in the lobby while we are told that we did not have a reservation when we truly did. After the painfully uncomfortable experience, Greg (who was a real piece of work), checked us in and made us feel like we were the problem and that we were lucky to be able to spend our money at his resort. We went through all of this without so much as one half-hearted apology from the manager. When we arrived at our room, we found the towel bar hanging off the wall, burnt out light bulbs, and broken shades. On Friday our room literally shook, and I mean SHOOK, from the night club downstairs. We were aware of the reputation of this resort, but it is one thing to know and another to experience the bone jarring bass from the club. On our check-out we informed the clerk that we did not have a good stay and she did apologize and offered us breakfast, but we had to catch a flight, so we respectfully declined. As she was giving us a receipt, Greg came out again to check on how things were going and he was incredibly rude to his own employee implying that she was dim-witted for not being able to tell how our charges were applied from the third party booking company we booked our reservation through. Greg is a terrible manager and should not be in this industry, I would not recommend this resort.

Nice place for a Sunday funday trip, if you are not a guest of the hotel. Tiki bar, or have a seat with a waitress. Beach area on both sides of stage. DJ or live performances. $20 valet parking if you are not a guest of hotel. No cover if you are early.

Atmosphere is fabulous. And the food is delicious!!!

Had a drink out back at the tiki bar with live music, which was lovely. Continued on to dinner at the buffet, which was excellent!
