We went there for the Christmas buffet. They didn't have the crab legs and the food was horrible and they use instant mashed potatoes. The crab Rangoon and fried rice was disgusting. So basically I ate chicken strips, Mac and cheese and prime rib. You would think if you have to pay $40 bucks for a buffet they would use real potatoes! They also raised the price $5 from the normal buffet. So if they raised the price, why did they take away the crab legs?! I will never eat there again.

Great staff, food, music every night almost anything you need within walking distance. No complaints and if I ever come back to cleawater I will stay here!
Shepard's is tampa bays hottest spot on Sundays for world renown EDM entertainment. Family owned but managed very professionally, Sundays are probably not the best day for little kids, but a great funday for the big kids. The resort was added too a few years ago and the renovatoIon and the change was dramtic in a good way, beautiful clean rooms, knowledgable friendly staff. I love this place. Only complaint I have is that I wish the outside bar and stage ran till closing time. Apparently due to noise ordinances the outside bar and stage close down around midnight and the inside bar, "The Wave" opens around 11 pm and stays open until the 3 a.m. close. Also the music in the wave is generally local DJs spinning hip hop and only some edm.
I think I speak for a lot of people "we preferred the same EDM style music played outside But don't let that stop you, just make sure you make it to the outside bar and Stage first. The DJ's on Sundays are typically the best in the world.... literally...if you like EDM you'll love this place on Sundays. But any day at Shepards is a good day.
Great view, close to the pier, awesome atmosphere and local to so many different places...mini golf, pier, park, marina, restaurants, bars, shopping strip. Etc
was in there tonight and someone hit me in the face and because I was older the manager and cop on duty chose to do NOTHING,,,,, Been going her for 5 years and was disappointing for management and Clearwater Cops do nothing about it
My name is Anna and I recently hosted a Bachlorette weekend here this past weekend. Unfortunately the manager on duty (Greg) was a complete A**hole! The location was perfect - and the resort was beautiful, but the staff is FAR from that! I was extremely shocked to see such an amazing place HAVE the worst customer service out there. We stayed in the suites above the night club, and just to warn you - the floor sounds like it's going to give way from 7pm-3am. The dishes in the kitchen sounded like they were breaking from the bass of the club below us. If you want any type of sleep -- do not stay there! I requested to have us moved - and Greg was far from helpful. Then i asked if they could refund us and we would stay elsewhere - and that wasn't an option either. He pretty much said, I have nothing to offer you. What a jerk! Also, our waitress that we had outside at the bar where they have live music - was MORE interested in hooking her friends up with free shots then to serve us. We had to find her anytime we needed something! Very irritating! I would not recommend this to any of my friends or clients. It's unfortunate, but the truth!
Sunday at Ocean Flame's buffet was unforgettable. We're excited about returning with friends. We especially like free valet service, the friendly bartenders and hostesses. The food was exceptional. We just arrived a little too close to closing time. And owe it to ourselves to return soon. The bathrooms are shared among nearby clubs and bars on first level of the resort... bathrooms were high traffic areas and not well kept. Change this and your rating could be 5 star. A dinning experience as Ocean Flame offers should have their own set of restrooms, or at the least a staff attendant, if it remains shared facilities.
Only went for the Christmas buffet but it was awesome! Service was perfect and food was always hot and very tasty. Tons of selections from salads to deserts. Anything that was empty was promptly refilled.
Tampa Night Life for those interested: Saturday Night we decided to go to Shepards for a change since we bought tickets for Memorial Day and wanted to see whats up. We are Mid Age EDM/techno couple but enjoy all music venues and usually go to SOHO. Arriving, Valet Parking was great. Lot was full but took my car anyway, thanks (5 stars). Started in The Salt Lounge and then over to the Tiki Lounge, atmosphere good, drinks good and Price is the Norm. We moved over to the Wave Lounge around 10:30 and the DJ (Yawn), but finally ramped it up and really enjoyed most of the night till he started to replay mixes. Left at that point. Can't complain overall than drinks being spilled all over the place and no one mopping them up. Mixed crowd, no issues. Everything else was chill, Just not sure it's worth the 40 minute drive from S Tampa. The Wave is very classy looking, but to much VIP area, overall nice place to party. Drynk Tampa still a step up, with DJ KU, lights, sound but will give Shepards another checkout in the future. Only been in Tampa 3 months so still lots to discover in the club scene.
Was a nice place. But if your an older couple watch out for all the drunk young kids. Definitely the party place to be. Live music. Pool and hot tub was nice.
Amazing hotel great room and hotel view access to a lot of things. But what really made it a great experience was the receptionist lily amazing lady charming and great customer service. I would recommend this to anyone as long as you are service by her you will have an amazing experience due to a very warming welcome and you feel great staying there. Great valid parking too. Will be back soon.
Although the hotel itself is very nice, the wait staff and bouncers are pushy to say the least. I saw multiple people get kicked out of the resort for seemingly no reason (dancing the wrong way, wearing the wrong clothing, etc.). They create a very hostile atmosphere. I myself got rejected from their club because I was wearing a name-brand polo that reflected a sports brand . Cell service is bad. No outside food or drink
If I could rate this establishment zero stars it would be too many! The list of issues at this money grubbing "beachfront" hotel is too long to list here. Save yourselves money, time, and aggravation and get a real walkout room a mile down the beach for less money and complimentary amenities.
While some of the staff was helpful and polite, I was pretty disgusted with the attitude we received especially from management. One manager in particular decided she no longer wanted to speak with us to resolve an issue and walked away. Will not be returning in the future.
I was disappointed today after I wrote a good review 2 weeks ago then today my friends and I order food the sun was shining hours later it's dark and even our bar tender was upset where our order wash we lost the order ticket,it's after 9pm then we get our food and to top it off my Grouper fillet was small they give us 15%off,really very disappointed.
Fun for a late night, live music and cocktails. Plus you can interweave to the tequila bar next door without leaving the open air-on the beach scene. My one request...offer a Howl at the Moon night!
Good food. Good music. Live performance was great. The bartenders were friendly. 10 of us came to party at the bar and we had fun. There is a 7 dollar cover to get in. Decent experience overall. Parking is a bit difficult to find if you are not a guest at the resort.
Loved it! Had a 2 bdrm, 2 bath "apartment" with a corner balcony right on the beach. Restaurants, bar, pool, beach, all just an elevator ride away! Totally recommend this place. Valet only. Pool and beach are semi-private. Public can pay for access. Also, good tip! Be sure to check your towels back in, even if the towel guy is gone for the day. Front desk will mark them received.
Hotel ok and especially clean. The restaurant at the hotel is too expensive for a buffet galore really average apart from the meat. The hotel has a nice pool and a small beach for the hotel. The large beach is located at 10min maximum walk.
Great spot on Clearwater Beach! If you love live music, this is the place. We had a room overlooking the beach and the stage, and felt the view was worth a little volume.
Nice resort, but if looking for a quiet vacation this is not the place. Loud live music until 2:30 am, this place is all about the party Fri night to Mon morning. Closed the dinner buffet 12/3-12/4 with no verbal or posted notice. Stay away...
Popular Wedding Venue great gulf views. Well known on the strip Shepherd's pool, bar drinks, live music. I recommend stop by Shepherd's for a visit when visiting Clearwater Beach
The rooms have great views and are very comfortable. Room service is also very good. Ideal for those who enjoy parties and young people. The night is quite busy.
